Eruditor: The stats can lie. The stats lie in PERs. Do you know Bruce Bowen? He used to have PERs of 9 sometimes 7 yet he could guard the phuck out of anyone.
I am happy you said 95% of the commenters. They are going to be OKC fans as the caption and thumbnail is a clickbait for them. So you are effectively making my argument for me.
The experts on the show and the NBA coaches who know more than us both did not agree with you or the commenters and that is also fine with me.
Ok...i have heard..the day i put up a video of the so called analysts and experts not speaking in favour of the warriors..Hope you wont dispute them?
Eruditor: I have made this argument in the past when someone was trying to use PER to make Eric Gordon better than Steph at a point early last season.
You are defending your player because you feel he deserves it. That is fine. I have defended my player because I feel that PG or Lou were not worthy enough to have replaced him.
Your argument about ppg will not really work when one is the 3rd option in his team and sits out large swaths of 4th quarters due to blowout wins than someone else who does not.
Your argument about assists will not also work because GSWs dominant ball-moving style will not allow many players rack up assists. Besides, Klay is a catch and shoot player. How many assists did Ray Allen or Reggie Miller have?
Your argument about rebounds is neither here nor there. It is the same way people made fake rebounds a big deal for Russell last year to have an almost sub 500 team's player the MVP - something that still feels preposterous today. PG will have more rebounds than Klay for eternity because that is not what is expected of Klay.
In the category that Klay plays in, no other SG is more precise and efficient than him. Harden is still not an SG in my eyes and he surely is not an efficient scorer, he draws a lot of fouls to shoot FTs and takes high volume number of 3s. So that should count for Klay.
Has he been inconsistent this season? Yes. But that same argument can be made for PG as well. PG was not playing well till mid December or so. He will not use 1 month plus to become an All star in a stacked West. Lai lai.
Russell called him top 2 SF? So who is he better than KD? Kawhi? Lebron? LOL. Give me a break bro.
PG left the pacers and Victor Oladipo became an Allstar in the same team he left while PG has come to realize what it is to play in the West. He should just take it, he is a good player but Allstar will not be based on one month performances. Same argument I made against Lou Williams.
Lillard was preferred by the coaches over CP3 for the same reason: you can't play 24 games in a 48 game season, post great numbers and be an all-star, when men have played 40 some games to post almost same numbers as you. It does not work that way.
In fact, the only fracas about PG not making the All-star list is on OKC fan threads, GSW-haters column and Nairaland. I watched most of the NBA talk shows after our chat and many don't share your opinion. See below for example:
I am not making this argument cos PG is in OKC but once again stats dont lie..no matter how you twist it.. The same video you posted,95% of people that commented on the video in the review section disagreed with the video,so at least i am not the only person seeing what i am seeing but at the end,"it is what it is"#paulgeorge'svoice
Eruditor: Oga, even the NBA does not fully understand how PERs are calculated. Players who tend to be ball dominant usually have high PERs. PERs for players who don't have blocks and steals will be low. PERs also favor players who play more against the 2nd unit of opposing teams. I have said it here before; I barely attach anything to PERs TBH.
Now that it is P.G's turn where his stats are speaking for him,NBA suddenly dont know how to calculate PER..No problem,we are watching.
Eruditor: Bro, I am not referring to PER but efficiencies in the shooting. Klay's percenatges are better which means he makes less mistakes. For e.g if PG has 42% shooting in the 3-pt range and has made 136 it means he has missed 186 of them. Klay on the other hand has made 154 and has missed almost same 189. So as you can see, Klay has shot more and still made more than PG at a higher percentage.
This is the only stat klay has over p.g..which is 3point percentage...does this now justify why he should have a spot over p.g?what happened to the other stats like P.P.G,Rebounds,assists,steals and even P.E.R ?etc.
Eruditor: Stats in question here is between their numbers not the teams. 20.8 statistically is not bigger than 20.3 if the latter needs fewer shots to get his.
Anthony Davis is the best or amongst the best at what he does. We can justify his place compared to other Centres in the west but sadly cannot do so for P.G. And I like PG BTW.
Lou is not more efficient than Klay in 3pts, if that is what you are alluding to. Lou is on 40% with far less 3s made than Klay who is on 45% and has made more.
I just even checked the efficiency you're arguing about and P.G has a higher efficiency rating...So the only stat Klay has over P.G is 3 point shooting percentage and you're telling me klay deserves a spot over P.G?
Eruditor: There is no statistical variance between 20.8 and 20.3 especially when efficiency and Klay effectively touching the ball less than PG comes into play. You want to make an argument for PG, then find something cogent to hold unto. Even his numbers renounce this all-star claim you are making for him against Klay which is even funny when we consider - when season began and for 10- 15 games into it - the consensus was that PG had regressed playing with Russell. Now all of a sudden, he is Lebron reincarnate.
Nah, man.
Please stop making this arguements about team and team mates...i gave you an example of Anthony Davis...who was Anthony Davis playing with before Boogie came. Talking about his team, when was the last time they made playoffs? No matter the grammar you use,20.8 will always be greater than 20.3. Its only efficiency and 3 point percentage you've been making a case for and yet a Lou Williams did not make the team?
I now see why you said i should stop appeasing him to come back..thought everyone was just giving their opinions including eruditor who i feel is wrong on this one..
20.8 to 20.3 is huge for Klay and PG. Only that one is getting his far more efficiently than the other.
Thank you for mentioning steals. I can trade it for Klay's total 3points made with more efficiency again or no? It is a miracle for anyone on the warriors to have high assist numbers with all that ball movement and Klay's numbers actually are higher than last year.
If Rebounds is the deal...Drummond better shoot someone.
Please stop referring to last year or previous years and talking about teams and their style of play doesnt affect who is to be in the all star team...What we consider is two individuals playing and who has the better stats...
Eruditor: I am not arguing for Green.

Yh..we are also making a case for Drummond too...whether the difference is 0.1,P.G is better than Klay..Dont make case for huge points difference pls and why are you making it about teams saying OKC were not doing well until recently..Anthony Davis has been in the All star team since when i can remember..if not for his great individual stats, will he make all star??When was the last time the pelicans made the playoffs?
Eruditor: I asked how? Efficiency? 3pt%? 3pt made? or because one plays for OKC and the other GSW?
Points per game, rebounds, assists, steals (currently leads in the nba in steals),etc.. If i want to be too thorough,i will even use the highlighted text above against Klay but i prefer players to be given fair treatment irrespective of the teams they are playing for.. Green in my own opinion is not even playing at all star level this season..Lets be honest with ourselves.
Eruditor: I did. Before I posted. His numbers are not great compared to his previous 2 years (so I don't know where people got this talk about his great season). He had 20.9 ppg to Klay's 20.3. All his efficiencies while at it are lower than Klay's and Klay is the 3rd option on his own team.
Even I am not saying Klay's season is otherworldly, but someone who wants to make a case for Kyrie for e.g, will not use his ppg as a reason to justify his All-star spot, as even that seems slightly lower than last year. What Kyrie has going for him is his allround game and conference topping record. So why should the standard change for Klay?
Forget about his stats two years ago...This season,P.G beat Klay both offensively and defensively...whichever way you want to look at it....
Most disgraceful statline by a rookie surrounded by so many talents, obviously cost us the game with his poor performance, should be traded to the Pelicans for Anthony Davis.
Lol..was waiting for you to show up after a great win ..To win the celtics is not easy.. Seems they were not just at their best tho..
Drummond can argue about Horford making it over him but not P.G in the west over Klay. P.G is the 2nd scorer in his team right? And he is less efficient than Klay with almost the same PPGs.
So what is this outrageous talk Westbrook is talking about?
Well..everybody entitled to their own opinions but one thing i know for sure is that numbers dont lie...Bro,pls check the stats..
Roland17: M. Smart played hero ball to the detriment of the team and that is one of the issues with Smart. That was a very silly shot, he should have passed the ball to Rozier who was open.
Love me some Smart but i feel he is kinda inconsistent.
Eruditor: But P.G has been inconsistent too. Good season he is having notwithstanding. Lou cannot make a case for himself with 11 games over a 46 game season as we stand.
Has Klay been inconsistent? Yes. But in his inconsistency he is almost 50: 40: 90. He is actually on 48: 45: 88 (best 3pt record in the NBA for number made and percentage) while playing defense. I actually think he is being overlooked because he is in GSW.
Blatt was coach of the year in Israel. Like Kerr, they adopted this pass-cut basketball but Lebron felt it did not help his own game. It was Lebron that did not like Blatt not the other players. Blatt took GSW to game 6 without KLove and Kyrie and the games were barely blow outs when they lost apart from game 6. Lue was getting blownout for fun till the NBA stepped in.
Lue has kept his job because everyone knew Lebron needed him as a figure head. If Lue loses his job it will be because Lebron left Cavs or because Lebron himself made Lue the fall guy.
Not undermining Blatt's role but LBJ deserves credit too for that playoff series without kyrie and K.love. But i agree with you on Lue and LBJ.
Decale: Someone cannor fall sick again ooo. Didn't know his scoring was now important in that game after D.Rose and IT came back, or his amazing defense.
The guy should demand a trade. One ring is enough for a person that constantly feels disrespected.
Roland17: And of course poor K. Love bears the brunt of the pathetic situation in Cleveland.
The same way they always criticize him,i wish they give him all the credit he deserves when they are doing well but they do not . Their actions are annoying. For me,asides LBJ,he is the best player on that team currently.
Eruditor: If Lebron criticizes Lue he is criticising himself. Lue has never been a coach. He was Blatt's assistant and has become Lebron's. Blatt even had a better record than Lue all round before he was fired. But bad reffing, cheating by NBA front office, unfit Steph and brainfart moments by Kerr made Lue what he is today.
I still think they are the team to beat come playoffs time. Beating Lebron 4 times without Gordon by the Celts is near impossible but stranger things have happened.
It was obvious the players did not like and want to play for David Blatt. I feel that was why he was fired. Lue does not look like he is in control of the team.
