Relax my brother.Your write up made me remember how it was for me last year May when I was about relocating to the UK with my kids.

My wife is a nurse.When we were planning relocating,I was the one who motivated my wife to read and study for all the exams that she needed to write for us to relocate.Infact,I was the one who sponsored my wife in school of nursing after searching for job as a human physiologist to no avail.

When God eventually opened the way and my wife had gone to the UK,it was time for me to join her.Meanwhiel,the kids were with me and my wife s cousin who was staying with us at that time.

The pressure was mounting from my wife to come over with the kids.She had rented 3 bedroom apartment,made everything set for us to come but all of a sudden,I developed cold feet.

I remember I also came in here to seek for advice. Alot of people advised that I take the step and start a new life in the UK.Finally,I made up my mind and I came here with my family.

Lest I forget, I wasn't earning anything close to what you are earning because I was just a federal civil servant with a monthly pay of about 150k.My age as at then was 40 years.

Fast forward to today,I thank the Lord for making me to take that bold step.I haven't gotten my desired job but I have been able to change jobs as often as I love.Currenrly,I work in the NHS as a pharmacy assistant and I tell you bro,it is worth it FINANCIALLY. What I get in a month with my wife's earning is boom.

The point is,please take this step and help yourself as well as your children.They will forever be grateful to you for this breakthrough. I have 3 kids and they are always grateful to us for bringing them to the UK.They have sound and undiluted education and it is FREE from nursery to secondary education.

Weigh your options and decide what you want.I believe you will be okay if you conquer your fears and run with FAITH.

I was with my partner � at the airport in Lagos in January this year when the UK call came knocking. So I was ardently involved in the process till departure. What happened in Heathrow is what I can't say anything about.

I understand your fears, but I assure you, you won't be doing menial jobs forever.
Do not leave Nigeria feeling that you have lost your "150k/month" job for a menial job. As you get accustomed to the system, you will meet new people, make good connections, expand your horizon, and things will start to make sense, bit by bit.
Gather all your certifications and experiences and start researching job opportunities. When you get to the UK, you might need to take more certification courses which will give you more prospects in the job market. That is part of growth! It is all for the best. Take that bold step, don't be afraid to leave your comfort zone.

I am sorry to bother you all.I am of you living in one of the states in South East.My wife left Nigeria last year November after securing UK skilled worker Visa as a Registered Nurse.

Being her spouse, automatically I became eligible to apply as a dependant with my kids(3).

I and my kids have been given the visa that will enable us work in the UK(I mean that will enable me to work)

The challenge I have now is that I have a job here in naija with one of the federal agencies.My monthly pay is about 150k and I have been on this job for about 10 years.I have risen considerably in rank to the position of a principal officer.

I am anxious about what the future holds in the UK.I heard you can only do menial jobs where they pay about £10 per hour.Meanwhile,I only have BSc in one of the biological sciences.

I need advice,do I abandone my naija job for menial jobs in the UK?I am absolutely ambivalent about tomorrow.

My wife sat for IELTS examination with IDP MOD more than a fortnight ago.The result was to be released few days ago but to her greatest surprise,the result was withheld by IELTS.

They claim in the mail sent to her that they are investigating her scores in the examination.For record purpose,this is the third time she would be sitting for the examination.The first attempt,she had over all band score of 6.5.The second attempt her band score dropped to 6.0

This third time,she truly put in her best because the two previous attempts were really not with much efforts.She was very expectant this time only for IELTS IDP MOD to write to her that they are investigating her scores.

They told her to send a written statement supporting her performance in the examination.This she did few days ago.I advised her to attach some of the study materials she downloaded online,outcome of the mock tests in reading, writing and listening conducted by the centre she was coached.She did as advised and she got a message from them that they will get back to her through their local office in my state after the investigation.

My wife is traumatized due to this especially when it is not definite on what to expect.

Is there anyone who had experienced this before?If yes,what was the outcome and how long are likely to wait for this impasse to be resolved?

I applied for medicine and was offered Zoology at University of Benin.I took the offer with the inclination that I will transfer to Medicine in 200L.

I did everything humanly possible to make the best out of the course in my first year so that moving to medicine would be seamless.Mysteriously,I had a missing script in GST and that got me stuck in the department.

Initially when it was obvious that I was going no where,I felt depressed because Zoology was never an option for me at all.I was always ashamed to tell friends the department I was in the university.I remembered couple of times I had to lie in different foral about the true status of my discipline in the university.

When it became Dawn on me that I was in the department to stay,I had to dust myself and configure my mind to make the best out of the department.I eventually graduated with second class upper division and this in no doubt spurred my chances in the labour market.

Today,I work in one of the federal agencies occupying an enviable position that even engineers and other professionals take directives from me.I am indeed grateful to God that I studied zoology at the end.

I took my time to write this in order to encourage someone who might be in this same shoe I was years back.I advise you to make the best out of that situation you are in now and focus on God at all time.The best is yet to come,trust me.

If it doesn't go their way,it is uncalled for.How can these unserious set of people be complacent with the current security situation of our country?
