Badagry is only Ogu and Awori

The only Ijebu areas I know are Ikorodu, Epe/Ajah axis. NOT LEKKI. But it does not matter anyway, who cares if it is Awori, Ogu or ijebu or even ekiti. We are all Yorubas and that is what matters.

The funny thing is that in Lagos state, there are families that ruled each colony or town. There are records of which I have gone through ( the Awori and Ogu side) There was no point where Ijaw names or afffliate was there.

Yes bini was there even Nupe and hausa but NO IJAW was there so I don;t know were they are getting this facts from.

Western ijaws have a lot in common with us. This shows they are even Yorubas and not Aworis as Ijaws but Ijaws as yorubas

Names like Dabiri, Timi, Odua etc are all yoruboid names Ijaws use so I don't understand this denial. BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY THERE IS NO CLAIMING.

Who are the ogu people??

Ogu is our original name, Upperland Yorubas call us Egun. We are found in benin republic and parts of Lagos, Ogun and Oyo. History have it that we were originally Yorubas for Ife but were chased out for some reasons back them. Then called Ewe, it divided into 4 main groups but Ogu is the one in Lagos.

If you go to places in togo or benin and you hear names like Tayo but speaking a language you are not conventional to, then he is Ogu.

Our language is a bit distant from yorubas but we still share words. I don't want to go into the politics of Ogu in this thread

Abagworo: This is what I expected from a sane person and not all these tribal and oil politics. Some of these States we refer to as mono-ethnic are not actually mono-ethnic in the real sense of it. Lagos, Ondo and Anambra for example have Egun, Ijaw and Igala respectively. So some non-Ijaws could be in the Toru-Ebe State. People like Ilaje and Apoi could join the Toru-Ebe. The biggest resistance would be from the people of hinterland who would be cut off from the sea and the offshore resources as well.

Lagos is peculiar and no group that is not of Yoruba origin can lay claim to it. Most Aworis are not even pure, they are either mixed with hausa, bini, etc and I am one of them and I am telling you the reality on ground.

I don't want you to waste your time with the western Nigeria land tussle, politics or power grab issue becasue you would be very surprise at the outcome.

It is a very complex situation in a very delicate balance that should not be tampered with. How many times have you even seen Itskiris who are in distant Delta shout about them not being yoruba or them being part of the Niger-delta republic. Fashola can not speak for Aworis of Lagos even Fashola is not originally Awori but was integrated. His grand father is Ekiti.
