holums: Achebe wil cause anoda problem....:his words is an offence to d yoruba

for war. Did Awo caused d civil war or was he d one dat caused d Jan
15,1966 coup or was he d one dat caused d Igbo massacre in d North
Sept 1966.....He advised Gowon on how to end d war, after d war he
resigned from his post......Achebe failed to point out T.Y Danjuma who
masterminded d massacre of igbos after he killed Ironsi & Fajuyi
So many books had been written concerning dis civil war.....of which
Madiebo's book stated dat shortage of weapons and lack of support
from international community contributed to d collapse of Biafra.
Enough of this tribal insult between Yoruba and Igbo on Nairaland
it won't solve any problem....the North caused most of d problems

To be honest I dislike people like you. What has the NORTH bleeping DONE AGAIN ?

Is it the north that forced Igbos into this union without a clause ?

Please know you history, stop blaming the north for everything.

agog: Hmm, great thoughts in retrospect. During the war that claimed more than 2 millions Ibos, the Biafran civilians suffered the highest. Biafrans soldiers seen at the end of the war were never seen not-well fed, but were robust, people including Ojukwu - suggesting that they have been feeding on the food meant for the poor masses. As the federal government put an end to this, it serves a main purpose of putting an abrupt end to the war. the issued of currency changed also defeated Ojukwu. so also Ojukwu inability to gain the full support of the bigger countries like Russia, France and the US. It would have been easier to convince these world power to Biafran side because of the oil there.
In all honesty, Awolowo acted uprightly
Thank you o !!! Abi wetin man go do. Right now any right thinking person would just leave them in their delusion.

You see igbos are just bitter people. The same people that see yorubas as dirty slaves are the ones asking for help when the north desended on them.

Before the war, they did all in their power to control and subdue these so call yaribas. Then they forgot yorubas were their brothers lol. Sh.it hit fan with their northern brother, then they remembered their dirty low yaribas for help. Even at that, these people still tried to play smart.

These bunch of ingrates still decided to invade, Molestation and do all sort of things to the so called yorubas they hate to love.

Any Nigerian that trust an Igbo man, goodluck to you. I personally don't trust anyone not to talk of an ethnic group. So play among yourselves, when you are ready to talk politics you know when to find the yorubas.

It's because of the war that igbos now respect the Niger-deltas and Yorubas now and we also respect them.

One last thing, it is nnamdi an Igbo man that sold igbos to Nigeria. So with this fact known, I can't be bothered. I just hope they stay out of yorubas way cuz if you decide to join any group to kill us off like nnamdi did before the war, you know the story. Just respect yourselves and stay out of our business and politics. Chikena last words on this thread. One day monkey will go to market and not return. One day your cups would be full. Fact.

I don't expect Yorubas to argue. Just be watching

No matter how you people try to paint AWO, he is still the MOST respected past leader out of the 3.

Yorubas are wasting their time replying Achebe or anyother ignorant person that does not know his history other than Achebe's books.

Exactly, I don't want to live in benin republic yet. I rather everyone respect themselves. Imagine what you would tell your grand children when they don't see Yorubas again in Nigeria ?

It's pretty sad don't you think ? So I rather igbos respect us just as we have respected them

pssword: I can understand the application of this law for local commercial vehicles operating within the Lagos metropolis, where I imagine a permit is required. But if it is extended to private individuals it is a nonsense and should be challenged in court. It will also create more more avenue for criminals and fraud, imagine a vehicle with multiple plates just because you've spent 3 months in Lagos. If all the states implement this they would be chaos. It would also make kidnapping easier with one car having multiple "legitimate" plates - absolutely crazy ...
my brother read the topic again. Also try to read the discussion before this
PoliticsRe: Lagos Won't Allow Other States Number Plates by aljharem(m): 1:40pm On Oct 04, 2012
wirinet: compulsory registration of cars with lagos plate number would not help the situation, what would help the problem is accurate data bank especially national data bank, trained and effective police with forensic training - maybe state and local community police included and good examples from leaders who the general population copies from.
correct but this is the first step towards the right direction. Agree ?

You see your fears I know and are totally uncalled for. I guess this nairaland gives the wrong impression of lagosian
PoliticsRe: Lagos Won't Allow Other States Number Plates by aljharem(m): 1:21pm On Oct 04, 2012
wirinet: Appriciated. You should know that Nigeria is still a disunited country, with various tribes suspicious and antagonistic of each other. That is why further laws aggravating the situation further needs to be discouraged. That is why issues like sharia law that discriminates agains non indigines is to be condemned.

We are yet to resolve the indigine problem because a Yoruba man born in lagos becomes a lagos indigine, but a hausa or igbo man whose father was born in lagos cannot claim indigene. Even Ifashola is not native to lagos. So most probably the governors parents were not born in lagos

we really need to define who an indigene is. That is why you cannot use the US as an example, there are defined indigene and jnationalization laws.
oh I see your point and it is strong too. One thing you must realise is that Nigeria is a young country. I support your views as well not cuz my father is from ogun but my family name is an original Lagos name. If I as a Yoruba man support your views then you should know that a lot of Yoruba support such views. Now this law is not to discriminate if not I consider myself as being discriminated against too cuz we are in the same shoes.

The reason for my support is due to the increase crime rate in Nigeria. We as lagosians need to be critical and hold our own if the fg is not helping us. The fg has abandon all territories apart from abuja thus we need to protect ourselves regardless of ethnicity.

Was it not last week an unknown police man shot a newly wedded igboman. It was Yorubas including me real life that fought for justice cuz I have the fear of Allah/God. Internet is completely different from real life. We all mix well in Lagos, please lets maintain it

Wirinet sorry I did not answer your question. might or might not have the gps. The good side I see are

1. You know to always enter Lagos state registered bus rather than oyo or enugu. Just to be safe

2. Your bus can be tracked in terms of whether it is a Lagos state bus or one chance

3. This gives the opportunity to actually installs tracking devices and control crime rate eg Lagos state taxis

These are the things I saw. At the end of the day you and I want to be safe regardless of the what Nigeria says.

wirinet: If as a Nigerian Lagosian that is in love with this law, what of the other Nigerian Lagosians that hate the law? They should migrate to other state too? Please explain how registration of a bus with a lagos plate number make the bus safer than if the bus was registered in another state. Does the lagos plate number come with a gps tracker?
now you are talking. You see before you condemn a law passed by those in authority you need to give reasons. I said what I said out of anger. Those that don't like the law should give genuine reasons. We all are in the same shoes but I sea the positive side to it.

Thanks my brother.

holyeye: @ Post,

If true, then it is most inept. No one should be under compulsion to change or use Lagos State Plate numbers.

The laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria take absolute precedence.

!
Yes it is true

Commercially use vehicle would and should and must have there plate number and registration from the state they intent to be working on. A commercial vehicle from ogun or delta cannot be a danfo in kogi it is dumb on the ministry of transportation part to allow such to occur. At last someone with brains has stepped up, you all are complaining.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Won't Allow Other States Number Plates by aljharem(m): 10:24am On Oct 04, 2012
The only people angry at such laws are the "mama I dey go lagos". If these idi.ots have brought kidnapping etc to Lagos. Now a thinking governor said commercial use vehicles aka danfo and Co should have Lagos state registration and plate number so when we see abia or borno plate number on danfos and Co we can know that this one Christmas money e dey look for aka kidnapping or worse.

Biko if you don't like the law that protects her citizens, we have 35 more states we all can chose to live in. abi na by force say you MUST live in SW Nigeria ?

Well said nagoma. The truth is that this do call abagowo and johndeo are only betraying their logic and you all know how Nigeria works by now. If you people throw logic out of the window, you people would regret it at the end of the day. Yorubas hate abacha, do fulanis and hausa hate him too ? When you people talk you also say yaribas hate obj, why do igbos and northerners hate him too ?

We need to be critical here. If this is done out of bigotry then I must say Nigeria does need to split cuz humans cannot be living with animals. A man that kill ppl at will, who's sons kidnap civilians for rituals ? Who almost made Nigeria a multi_cultural/religious country the enemy of the world ?

The issue here is simple, history would never vindicate abacha. Buhari WAS THE BEST PRESIDENT NIGERIA EVER HAD IF YOU ARE OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW THIS. WITHOUT BUHARI NIGERIA WOULD HAVE BEEN LOST WITH TIME. ABACHA DESTROYED NIGERIA FACT
