I am interested in the number of students involved. Does anybody have an idea?
I would suspect only public schools but lets wait for Koruji to tell us.

afam4eva: This is a waste of resources if you ask me. Why not equip all school libraries with desktop computers before thinking of giving every student a tablet.
My sentiment as well, complete waste of money and time

bashr8: and how did the whole igo race collect this money talk you are talking about? i have told u to stop this your mischief on nairaland.
I don't understand you. If you are talking of the people that dictate the voting pattern of the SW geopolitical zone then it is CERTAINLY NOT TINUBU quit saying rubbish. Nobody apart from God can dictate it.

Afernifere has a strong influence to this but not ACN and certainly NOT TINUBU.
EducationRe: Osun Distributes Computer Tablets Of Knowledge For Test-running by aljharem(m): 4:46pm On Jun 12, 2012
koruji: Obviously you guys have not followed the history of the Opon Imo. It is an initiative alright, and that is the idea of an initiave - something new and never tried before, at least in this particular place.

And no, it is not just buying and handling tablets to the students. This particular ones are being designed specifically for the Osun State curriculum - as such it is not a regular tablet.

We'll see how it works out, and the state should be willing to adjust if necessary.

As for improving schools, the man has commenced the inspection of 170 mega- and modern schools being constructed across the state. He is not joking!!!

He also has a program to train up to 20,000 Osun State youths in ICT technology.

It may not all work out as planned, but that is why it is path-breaking. If it were obvious, and easy to do everyone should have done it. Constructive would also be a good thing to incorporate, but naysayers need to stay away.

Nobody can fault Gov. Aregbesola's vision here. He is not building 6 stadia for a state with no football team or N7 billion to demolish a hill - he is spending on education.
Koruji, I would like to see a link to the 170 mega schools please. Aregbesola does not have the capacity do do such.

Unless you are talking in terms of aids from other states ?
EducationRe: Osun Distributes Computer Tablets Of Knowledge For Test-running by aljharem(m): 4:43pm On Jun 12, 2012
Did you miss the part that says

"Installed in each of the computer tablets are the soft copies of all the subjects being offered in secondary schools with different text books and lesson notes, as well as past questions of West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), National Examination Council Examination (NECO), as well as Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)."

The tablets are obviously meant to aid learning and not some gift.

How many students are we talking about here?
Akanbi why are you talking like this, knowing secondary school students, it only take a matter of months before they damage the system. Some might actually sell it or tamper with it.

A much better initiative which would last longer after the current crop of student pass out would be a very good library full of computers to meet the student needs.

This tablet thing is just not it. To me it more or less a toy for the student.
PoliticsRe: 2015: PDP, NWC Divided Over Sambo-amaechi Joint Ticket by aljharem(m): 4:37pm On Jun 12, 2012
bashr8: yea money talks the same way tinubu collected money from GEJ on behalf of yorubas and betrayed CPC the last time.
Nope Tinubu and CPC never reached an agreement. Moreover Tinubu DOES NOT DICTATE THE VOTING PATTERN of the SW. I have told you this times without number.
PoliticsRe: 2015: PDP, NWC Divided Over Sambo-amaechi Joint Ticket by aljharem(m): 4:35pm On Jun 12, 2012
It is not something out of the extraodinary to have Rochas and El-rufia or El-rufia and Fashola or Fashola and Rochas or El-rufia and Gov of Akwa Ibom

Oshomoile and Roachas etc

ACN should support any of those candidates and I expect APGA if indeed they are progressives should support anyone as well regardless of their zone according to Nigeria politics
PoliticsRe: 2015: PDP, NWC Divided Over Sambo-amaechi Joint Ticket by aljharem(m): 4:33pm On Jun 12, 2012
bashr8: they will fail , they need to go back to drawing board, people will not vote sambo/amaechi for any reason. voting sambo is the same thing as voting GEJ again, meanwhile APGA need to start strategizing cause it seems both CPC and PDP will be fielding candidates from the north.
not certain

PDP yes

CPC no.

CPC is a bit apprehensive because fielding in an Igbo presidential candidate (whatever that means) does not grantee SE vote given the fact that

1. money talks

2. GEJ madness going around among Igbos

PointB: Lol,
Barefaced liar you!

SE/SS stood shoulder to shoulder in support to achieve 13% derivative (down from 25%) they fought for during the last National Conference. The same 13% that your NW/NE brother with tacit support of Sanusi are now trying to take away from them.

Abi, don't your Governors Lamido Sule, feel cheated about the 13%, when the rest of us are asking for 100% for resource owners? Abi you want me to start pulling up threads and links? So now, where from your story!

I doff my hat for you! The way you lie glibly here is legendary!!
Keep decieving yourself. 13 % Heck the SW fought to resource control thus they own there resource.

why stop at 13 % why not fight for complete resource control like the west did, are your leaders afraid of hunger ?

PoliticsRe: Who Do You Believe??? Lawan Or Otedola ???? ??? ???? by aljharem(m): 3:16pm On Jun 12, 2012
Otedola is clearly doing FG bidding here. If not how would one explain SSS helping Otedola. It is just unfortunate that Lawan fell for this Fg silly trap.

I believe Otedola because right now he is being blackmail by someone more powerful. thus he has everything to lose if he lies

Lawan should just resign

bashr8: shut up hendiot, oyo is 10 times more dangerous than lagos , we have posted crime statistic here several times, what do u know about south east, enugu is the safest btw in the southeas
Ne deceiving yourself, I wonder when you started believing Nigerian stats. Do you know the amount of stats we have brought here that YOU have discredited because it is not in your favour ?

The fact remains that, Oyo is safer than Lagos. You do not know these two states more than me

Imo and to a larger extent is safer than Enugu aka the coal state. When last have you heard kidnapping happening in Imo compare to enugu ?

PointB: lol see who is calling someone parasite, cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy grin grin grin grin

SS can have their oil; we want SS to control 100% of their oil, and other natural resources. That's all we want for them.
SE should have full control of their resources, same with SW, NC, NE, and NW! Shikena!
No that is a lie

While SS, WEST AND AREWA were calling for resource control with did Ohaneze do ? Nothing

If you think the west and north are scared of resource control (which Awolowo and saro wiwa fought for) bros think again.

Even till date we still want resource control it only the Ohaneze that don't want it in the prospect of SS joining them this cajoling all the oil producing area.

None of my business so long as you do not take yoruba speaking part of Niger-delta aka Ilaje, Akoko, itsekiri, I am fine,

Is it not obvious. I really pity Nairalanders agreeing to his views.

He is as corrupt as the politicians, they pay him, he does there bidding for them.

How can one explain his support for Ibori (before he entered prison) only for UK to arrest him and he turns his back on him simply because it would damage his image.

Well he only deceives gullible minds, not people would have seen what real governance should look like *those of us in Lagos and Akwa Ibom*

EducationRe: Osun Distributes Computer Tablets Of Knowledge For Test-running by aljharem(m): 2:20am On Jun 12, 2012
Misplaced priority, confused set of leaders

What would student use computer tablets for in secondary school ?

What students would need would be a library with standard computer, renovate the schools to good standards etc not give each student a tablet.
