DaLover: Some Jewish people also said nice things about Adolf Hitler so what r u on about? How could NCNC split the midwest out of the west if they didnt want to go? OK let accept your clumsy argument, why did he stop at splitting only Midwest, why didn't he split the west into two equal halves to pain Awo well well, after-all as you claim, he had the power to split people who didn't want to go? And they just decided to organize referendum on mid-west split out of the blues...when everybody was living happily ever after..
you are shallow sha
Shut up and stop the lies

NO JEW WOULD SAY ANYTHING NICE ABOUT HITLER.

Who are you liking Hitler to ? Yorubas and Hausas or Who ?

NCNC split the west because of some reason best known to Nnamdi Okpara and co

Why should he stop the mid-west when Nnamdi arrested Awolowo and Enaharo (representative of the mid-west) ? He could not have split it into 2 eqaul halves thanks to Oba Benin that saw through all the rubbish your Igbotic leaders were doing.

IS the mid-west happier now ? Yes or No

I love the idea of people having their own destiny and if for any reason the groups in the mid-west don't feel comfortable about being in the west because according to some Urhobos it is yoruba domination. Then fine. It is all well and good.

I would not want to be dominated as well. but the question is, is the mid-west better now ? Yes or No ?

DaLover: The Bendel people had it so good under Awolowo that they fought night and day to break free from him...r u in your right state of mind at all? Check the history of Uniben, and how Oba of Benin and other notable mid westerners ad thy were caled then fought to get their own school, because they felt marginalized
when Cocoa was funding west, there was resource control, what is bad in asking for it to be re-instated...or your monkey brain cannot grapple this concept...

See Yoruba man whats to decieve us again oo, we 9ja deltans should split the country and you will turn around, combine with the north and fight us....We saw how Awo did it previously....You guys should start first ...we are following closely behind...we want to split tooo...but we r behind you...shebi you have OPC, you have seen mend taking on Nigerian armed forces, lets see OPC, then we will follow...not the other way round ...
LOL they had it bad under the western region and that was why Yorubas freed them ?

NCNC aka Nnamdi Azikwe split the western region for political reasons best know to him.

THE MID-WEST DID NOT FIGHT NIGHT AND DAY, In fact there was no fight so stop lying your stu.pid igbo man. There was a referendum and Oba Bini decided to have the mid-west.

Thus the west was the first region to split, Yorubas did not fight a war because of that neither did the mid-west. Only for years later Ojukwu to invade them. So you see, you sir are not from the mid-west and I dare any mid-western to challenge me on this. I am not talking about your Igbotic goons

Ok ! You lair

The links I brought out were by Ijaws and Urhobos so go figure
PoliticsRe: Why Wole Soyinka Should Be Supported- The bitter Truth by aljharem(op): 12:21am On May 07, 2012
DaLover: Please point out where I said Soyinka should have protested during OBJ era?

If market price of fuel is N130, and you pay N65, is it not as good as free? eh mugu...

If the FG were to seize cocoa lands, start govt run farms and distribute bonvita/Milo to the nation at 1/2 price would Awolowo have accomplished wht he did?
The system needs change
You be really mugu

what market price ? I ask. Market price of what you produce ?

If Nigeria have her own refinery, would we have to pay market price ?

Who set this market price ? Those that produce or those that don't ?

BTW here are your posts on Wole Soyinka when a proper Deltan was shutting you up

you calling Wole "Lagos people"

I am also Deltan, and we are not in this rubbish protest on corruption, don't allow Lagos people to deceive you ooo...you will end up being a bigger F00L than you are looking now....as far as i am concerned as long as the structure remains the way it is corruption will always thrive...do you see them organizing to stop a structural system that encourages laziness and corruption...their focus is only on the personalities and government in power, when they get there they will do exactly the same.

If we are ready to protest the system that means that the FG has to execute even the simplest of activities like distribution of fuel, then we Deltans will follow, the system does not encourage productivity simple and short, anyhow, if yo still insist, i hope it doesn't stop here, go out there, soldiers of northern origin have been waiting for this opportunity...
Calling Wole Yoruba even though deandavid an Urhobo kept telling you off.

Beaf and I share the same views on politics, that doesn't mean I am beaf...so stop calling me beaf...
common sense will tell you that even when you expect people to be upright, you don't tempt them by creating an unrealistic and artifical distortion in market prices...of course they will always be corruption, it exist everywhere...

Look at pension fund issue....y the hell is the govt managing pension funds? that what comes to my mind not Mr a or Mr b did this or that...because we are moving in endless circles...

If the Yoruba are fighting true federalism as you claim , then lets see them organize a protest for it, then I will join...not say that and then organize a protest on how to continue the sharing of the national cake at a cheap rate...do you think they will ever allow the federal government to take over their cocoa farms and then promise all Nigerians a small fixed price for cocoa products no matter the market price? and then the federal government will then pay the owners of the arable land what ever it likes...
once again be wise
https://www.nairaland.com/927037/prepare-mass-protest-over-subsidy/2

Dude long story short, Please tell GEJ to split the country because if he does not and his tenure passes then forget it and stop complaining about yoruba and hausa ok !!!
PoliticsRe: Pictures Of Lagos Before Crude Oil And Independence by aljharem(m): 12:10am On May 07, 2012
DaLover: I agree with most of this, but from what I read in wikipedia, when the whites started the Lagos colony, it was treated differently from the other parts of Nigeria(as called today), the citizens of the colony were automatically British citizens, this did not apply to other sections of the country then..I think they probably made the modest development in Lagos with the initial tots of staying long term.....I wonder what might have changed their minds.....
So it is no longer Oil that built Lagos now, it is the British ?

LOL dude you are confused, really really confused
PoliticsRe: Why Wole Soyinka Should Be Supported- The bitter Truth by aljharem(op): 12:02am On May 07, 2012
DaLover: @Detongue, Soyinka is a great man.....Bakare...definitely a devil

Please demonstrate that you are not a f00l, what r u going to protest forhuh

I hope it not the same subsidy removal, that they have been protesting since 1990s and yet it still keeps being removed?
I hope its not the right to free fuel? because it is not part of your human rights
I hope it is not prosecution of people perceived to be corrupt while the system that encourages corruption still remains? please kindly outline why you want to hit the streets...lets show how f00lish you are...
Where you not the same person saying Wole should have protested during OBJ era ?

Moreover the fuel I buy to my car, is it your father that bought it for me ?

Which free fuel are you yarning about ? Dude stop thinking silly here. Explain how fuel is free.

If you are not happy with the current structure of Nigeria, tell GEJ to split the country

DaLover: Do you agree that the truth is that to solve the corruption issue, Govt has to divest itself from most of the enterprises it is running nowhuh

Must the govt run NNPC??
Dalover please and Please you are not Ijaw, stop lying to Nairalanders. If truly by any chance you are Ijaw, I take you mama beg you, tell GEJ to split this country fast !

When your fore-fathers where getting Awolowo free education in delta state where were likes of Ibori and co ?

When cocoa was funding the west before oil, what were your leaders feeding on ?

Just so you know I am not lying

Please, I cannot live in a country like this. Just tell GEJ to split the country insisted to ranting about Yoruba and Hausa all day while the innocent Igbos that have nothing to do with oil companies are good.

Just tell GEJ to split the country. We are protesting for SNC in the West, North and middle belt. I bet the same is what is going on in the minds of Igbos and Ijaws, so what is the wait for ?

If you allow this country to continue after GEJ without a split, then don't complain whatever happens after that.

Anyway, Alj, I'm sure you have some photos of Egun people and their unique attire to share with us.
No problem

The egun attire is not different from any other attire from Lagos state.

Even the pic Andre Uweh aka Ngodigha brought out is a typical agaba That is my family sitting rigth there. Look closely, again do't bother yourself too much about it. I know how to deal with this. Keep going on with your nice thread

DaLover: Do you even appreciate how the political structure of the country prevents development and makes it difficult to fight corruption?
Things will have to change very slowly as long as Hausas and Yorubas insist on the status quo..
The system we operate presently protects thieves and corrupt people...people need to see this, its more than individuals....
You must be crazy, what statues quo ?

When the Yorubas and Hausas were protesting against their leaders, where were yours ?

When Soyinka was holding hands with Gani, where were your leaders ?

Is it the Igbos that quiet are the Innocent ones ?

Odenigbo Aroli: I warn you son of doom; There is a very good business understanding between Anambra and Delta hence the reason why Peter Obi is not building one. Again, all we need is a second niger bridge with an in built rail way that will connect it to Asaba and midwest.
Ok sir

warrior01: aljarem, how is an airport built in akwa ibom more viable than one being built in asaba. I'm with uduaghan on this, as i foresee an airport that will play a big role in the economies of ss/se regions with its proximity to onitsha and nnewi. kudos to uduaghan on this
My brother I am sorry, I was not looking at it from the view of Onitsha. Even at that if built in Akwa Ibom and a good rail system is in place, it would not take anything from SE.

Think about it, places like Abia, enugu etc would benefit from it as well not only in trade but also in the flexibility of movement.

How I wish Nigerian government get sense.

dabrake: is it not better than waiting for development/investors first before working? he is laying the foundation for investors to come in and utilize the virgin land. do i need to tell you that it's stressful and it requires rigorous plannings to develop a city that's already been over populated? if you doubt me, ask BRF. population/crowdy lagos is really making things difficult for him
Is Akwa Ibom (Uyo) already over populated or are you envisaging over population due to the Int aiport ?

I would like to know, thanks smiley

wesley80: ^^ Why are u comparing an airport that'll service one of the busiest markets in Africa and major industrial and commercial towns in the South East with a prestige airport built in the middle of the desert?
What !!!

then why not build the airport in Anambra then rather than build in Asaba knowing full well it is only ONE niger bridge we have.

You talk of Onitsha market I presume ?

So you mean transportation of goods and people from asaba to the SE through Onitsha would have to go through this single and one Niger-bridge that was built 50-60 years ago if not more.

Haba. Building the airport in Anambra would have made it a better judgement in my opinion .

But also if this is what would force the FG to build a bigger and better SECOND Niger bridge, then good !!!

It is a two way thing

wesley80: No, you didnt understand the article and I honestly do not think u even bothered to read it.
My brother, I read it. Infact just to be sure again I just finish reading it now.

I still think it is a waste of funds. It would be more profitable for Nigeria indeed the SS to have invested on one airport so it could be unto world standards. Akwa Ibom comes to mind

Emmanuel is just wasting money and time. FACT !

Today in Nigeria, we have airports wasting way for example Minna international. What a waste, a total waste

are you saying the contractor did not see the hill before starting the project ?

MOREOVER NOT ALL STATES IN NIGERIA WOULD HAVE AN AIRPORT, I WONDER HOW NIGERIAN REASON AT TIMES.

EVERY SINGLE STATE WANT TO BE ANAMBRA LAGOS OR ABUJA. IT IS STU.PIDITY.

Build an airport only if it is viable and stop wasting money. Why not donate the money to Akwa ibom so the SS region would have one world class standard airport rather than 100 3rd class airports.
