Bauchi people are hausawa

Ilaje people as far as I am concerned are yoruba

I don't blame you that much from the history you've given. If you have never lived in Nigeria, there is bound to be a serious disconnect with your identity that might make you play the fool a few times too many.

MsDarkSkin: LOL ok.

So Liberia's Krahn vs. Gio, or Congo's Hutu vs. Tutsi is different from
Igbo VS. Yoruba because the latter applies to Nigeria....i understand!! grin grin
LOL the hutu vs. tutsi analogy is a bit too extreme

What I mean is that, most of us Nigerians get deeply hurt if another group from a section talk rubbish about our group. For example Mr Globe said "Igbos don't like yaribas and their lifestyle" Although I know he does not mean it, merely saying it alone would hurt the "yoruba" people's feeling. Same goes to Yoruba posters that say horrible things about Igbos even thought they do not mean it, it hurts their feeling as well.

The Nigerian case is not really about tribalism rather it is about respect.

The same issues in other African nations plague Nigeria. Simple.
Tribalism, poverty, greed; etc.
No it does not, Nigeria tribalism is peculiar in the sense that we cannot do without each other but also want to go our separate ways. As you would observe from most posters here.
PoliticsRe: Tribalism Among Nigerians In Diaspora And On The Web – A Trend We Need To Stop by aljharem(m): 9:48pm On Apr 25, 2012
Not only that, its unfortunate that am sharing the same country with the Yoruba tribe. This set of people need to live on their own. They are not civilized. Igbos dont like the yaribas and their lifestyle generally so there cant be cooperation. Divide this country!
And you expect the yorubas to appreciate this and accept it without looking for words to hurt you as well ? This is exactly what I mean, tell me where any yoruba would say he does not like Igbo. Please show me. angry angry

Well OP that is your answer coming from the horses mouth. Look no more, this is the exact reason yorubas act the way they act only on nairaland and no where else.

The reality is that yorubas like everyone but when you love people and they do not show the same back to you then it is a parasitic relationship (as my friend beaf would say).

If we are to access the issue here, NO ONE HAS A PROBLEM with tribalism at least no me because I ignore egocentric people. Now coming online you see that with insult even though you try to make them see things from you point of view is a different ball game.

Who are the strongest avocators for a second Niger bridge apart from Igbos in Nigeria ? The yorubas

Who are the strong avocators for an international airport in the for the SE, this same Yorubas

Who are the strongest avocators that made an Ijaw man the president, Yorubas

Who fought for southerner Nigeria and was betrayed by his "brother", Yorubas

Now they fight for Nigeria, you are complaining again

Who made our foriegn reserve to 60 billion, OBJ

Who made GEJ win in the SW, yorubas but apprently they said we should shut up and it is Igbos and SS that did all the work. FINE !

Now 2015 is around the corner, we said we do not want GEJ again since yorubas did not vote for him. Lets vote for an Aboki, it is better than this southerners, Next is barage of Insult calling you a traitor.

Ok, lets not be traitors, lets vote for the most credible person that would make everyone from the north to the south east and west happy. They said shut it, they want a SE president.

What exactly do this people want from this yoruba people so according to them, they can be less tribalistic and change their ways. (I doubt it since being a yoruba man goes beyond ethnicity but it is rather an ideology).

I would like you hear.

PoliticsRe: Tribalism Among Nigerians In Diaspora And On The Web – A Trend We Need To Stop by aljharem(m): 9:13pm On Apr 25, 2012
Jah Man: @deshclone, you are very correct in calling poster a bigot but you were very insultive.
@OP,you are unmistakably a Nigerian/Yoruba.That is the way they reason. Can you imagine that in your examples you never mentioned where a Yoruba person committed the offence of tribalism?Meanwhile, the Yorubas are the most tribalistic creatures I have ever seen.I had them as good friends back in the univ but not until I met them in droves during NYSC that I knew who they were.
I have worked in two organisations and have noticed how they shamelessly populate everywhere with their kith and kin, whether competency is sacrificed or not.In the middle of discussion in a corporate office(including multinationals) you will see them speaking.."Yoruba-Yoruba",but let your tribesman greet u in your language, they will raise alarm.Very insecured set of folks.
I hate being annoyed to write such things, but I also cannot condone hypocrisy which is what the OP personifies.
You may need to retract your post and do a balanced write-up,indicting your tribe 1st and others. This tribalism ought to stop,]starting from the not-so-travelled and self-centred yorubas.
Can you imagine someone writing this and expect a good response. Not possible, If yorubas are the most tribalistic "creatures" you have ever meant, for crying out loud go back to your village. !!!

If you cannot live with a group of people, it is not by force.
Ask igbo, hausa and yoruba. They are the ones claiming they own nigeria. Any Carribbean or Haitian knows where those three tribes are in nigeria cos they nigerians in diaspora always point out their tribe whenever they tell anyone they are nigerians. Nigeria is own by nobody but by every nigeria. If we don't love ourselves who will? Oyibo people? other africans?...i no longer read comments o youtube. If you go on facebook, igbo ppl's groups are like sands on the beach. Ndi igbo, Biafra...u name it. MMsschheww!!! Nonesense!...so pissed.
good !! Now you understand some of my anger when I come on Nairaland.

This does not end on Nairaland or Nigeria, Go to Ghana, China, American etc it would be one stu.pid Igbo man either insulting yorubas or hausas or even edo just for the fun of it.

They don't even know how to act discrete outside Nigeria shores. Imagine an ideeiot starting a topic "Malaysian know yorubas" or "Hausa are linked with alquada". Such stu.pidity annoyed me to no end.

I have always wondered why I would insult another Nigerian ethnic group in the present of a Non-Nigeria.

Now they have also taken their stu.pidity to Vanguard, It only a matter of time I form a login on that vangaurd before I start dealing with them. It is better for the Nigerian government to know what is going on rather than some loud mouth group just insulting others without reply. angry angry angry

Infact the ideeiot called Jahman who first pointed out "OP you are Nigerian/Yoruba" Their goes the baised nature

2. Yorubas are the most this most that.

No Igbo on this forum castigated him, they just allowed him his comment to sly as if they agree with him.

If a yoruba man does the same, it would be seen as hate for the ndigbo. and THAT IS FAR FROM THE TRUTH. A yorubaman HATES NO ONE but reacts with anger if they are been riled to much. Just as an Hausa man hates no one but reacts by a riot when you rile them as well.

I have advocated for each and everyone of us to respect ourselves but IT IS CERTAINLY NOT A ONE WAY THING. If I decide to respect you, you should also have the brains to respect me as well.

*btw i don't give a mess of what you all think of this post*

Ask them why Apoi-ijaw act Yoruba rather then Ijaw ?

Ask why Ijaws like yorubas but Nairaland would make us believe otherwise.

There are people on Nairaland who are not who they call themselves but claim to come from a certain tribe (representation) and chat rubbish

Today Dalove is Urhobo -isoko-igbo and now his recent claim is Ijaw

I can keep going on and on

Who protested for GEJ to be president ? This people or yoruba (infact lagos) It is this same lagos that asked for accountability and they started insulting them. That is how backward they are. Please use your imagination these people are reta.rds.

Who voted for GEJ, SW but now they said it was them in the SW that give GEJ all the votes ? Imagine the slap, if they start ethnic battle, they would cry that yorubas are tribalistic forgetting that you do not pull the ear of the dog without recieveing a reaction.

I am telling all these so you know what we are dealing with in Nigeria. I mean the sort of people. People that are not ready for change or see us as equals rather see themselves as oppressed and others as the oppressor. Ask them what is the difference between a typical Igbo man or Ijaw man and a typical yoruba man in the same delta state ?Oh you see....

Jason I employ you to go to Nigeria and know why Yorubas on Nairaland talk the way they do. You cannot blame them.

Why do you think the Edo (A neutral) and western delta (your people's land) supported them ? Ask youself these questions

Ask yourself why middle belt protested with the North ? I mean they want a separate identity but still support them.

It is not the matter of tribal thinking as so many easterners want us to believe, it is about principles and truth.

Why do you think there was protest in Cross river ?

Serious questions and answers you need to know.

jason123: Alhaji, you should have known me by now. I try my human best not to take sides but the truth is even if some leaders have been taking these "compensations" on our behalf, it is the job of the companies to at least leave a POSITIVE LEGACY! That legacy cannot be found in Nigeria!
Dude what positive lagacy are you yarning about ? ?

I remember when they said they wanted to clean up the ND oil spill, what did your leaders do ? they told shell NO and ask shell to give them to the money that they would clean it themselves.

What happened after that ? Did they clean it up ? Yes or No

Exactly, dude take a trip back home to see how ND people are suffering and smiling.

You see ideeiots like Dalover, Johndeo etc tribal ranters always looking for one to blame for their woes without looking to their leaders.

Today Allison Madueke was found to be an accomplice in the fuel subsidy they claim it the Northerners stealing their money. What happened, these same ND youth are protesting in Abuja for the report not to be release so as not to open Allison to the public.

You see How daf.t Nigerians can be at times ?

Take a look at the mo.ron above you called Johndoe, What is he concern about ? Yoruba boundary or cleaning up the ND

Excatly, these people are more concerned by the Yorubas and the Huasa-fulani than their leaders

But the truth still stand, this yorubas they insult, they migrate their in thousands.

Their pride, I mean shameful pride would not allow them to adopt a free minded leadership. All they are concern about is yoruba this yoruba that. Ask how many Igbos are in Kwara ? they would say it is fulani land

How many are in Ibadan ? infact a popular bigot here on Nairaland called Andre schoolled in Ibadan. Ask him why he did not school in Imo state if it was better ?

How many of them are in Lagos ? They would say it was the former capital

How many of them are in Ondo, they would say it is not yorubaland etc

These are the people WE nigerians are dealing with everyday. People with envy and backward mentality

Another iddeiot called Wealey etc would say Ibori should not have been arrested since tiunbu the yorubasss king is free ?

What happened ? Uk now arrested him, he kept his mouth shut in shame

You have to understand Nigeria.
