I wonder why some Ibos prefer to be used by Hausa/Fulanis. Imagine Ihedioha staged to preside over this controversial issue and he delivered to them. I wonder.

These hausa fulani people think they are wise, well it is working for them just that people like us that are reading their games will not be taken seriously. When they want to achieve controversial issue, they will ask an Ibo to preside and they will back him.

Most Ibos are fools and stooges
it has nothing to do with igbo or hausa/fulani

it is a national agreement by people of both Christian and Muslim background

It is abundantly clear to us that these known NL revisionists would go out of their way to obfuscate their culpability in the issue at hand with unimportant information, such as the number of Igbo participants in the coup. Its a dumb attempt on their part, to shift the focus from the end result, to the plan itself. We are not fooled once again.

Katsumoto:
Why do you persist with this nonsense? Are Igbo people such altruists that they always put the needs of others before theirs? You always assume that others are fools. Igbo sons organised the first coup because they were concerned about incidents in the West rather than Zik's loss in the power play with Balewa? Biafra was racing to Lagos to save the West from the Northerners rather than seeking military objectives? Biafra had not saved itself yet it was seeking to liberate people that weren't occupied but also didn't ask for help.

Everyone else is helpless, they must be saved by Igbo sons. Bullshit, tell that to the marines. For your information, there is evidence that suggests Okpara and Zik financed the disturbances in the West because Akintola aligned with Bello after being helped by Zik and Okpara in remaining as Premier of the Western region.
my friend, u know igbos are yorubas big brother and they were out to help the yorubas by SOE, killing the yoruba leaders, invading lagos, bombing lagos duing the war, dividing the west to west and mid-west, imprisoning western leader, etc

wow shocked shocked shocked shocked they love the yorubas so much

God bless the igbo race

phantom:
wont it be a river port? undecided undecided undecided, it wont be able to berth large ships,
it would actually because they are dredging it. so if they drag deep enough, it should be able be float the biggest ships. Also they need to take the width of the river bank into account.

Lets hope nigeria government does the right thing if not, it means it is only meant to small ships.

but that aside, it would be linked to kogi as well for the north

PoliticsRival To Boko Haram As A New Christian Terrorist Group "akhwat Akwop" by aljharem(op): 6:59am On Jul 24, 2011
BY EMEKA MAMAH
The emergence of a  new  group,  believed to be out to checkmate Boko Haram, is  giving security agencies in the  north goose pimples.
Security sources said that the new group, Akhwat Akwop, claimed that its target for violence would be women whose husbands were reportedly behind the violent activities of Boko Haram in the last three months.
However,  security personnel, now trying to unravel those behind the new ‘’terror group’’, believe that the peace in the north was being threatened the more, because of the suspicion occasioned by the several clashes  in various parts of the north in the last 10 years in which the perpetrators were not punished due to alleged  lack of political will by the authorities to implement any of the reports of the investigative panels instituted to look into the crises.
‘’We are worried that the security situation in the north is degenerating and it may get to serious ethno-religious wars that will spread across the states in the area”, one of the sources said.
‘’The emergence of this new group gives us serious cause for concern because the situation in Somalia and other troubled parts of the world began with small issues which later degenerated’.’
It was learnt that the group dropped leaflets in at least 10 states of the north, viz: Benue, Taraba, Yobe, Borno, Bauchi, Adamawa, Plateau, Kogi, Nasarawa and Kaduna states, warning that it would  liberate northern minorities from the strangle-hold of the Hausa/ Fulani who had been lording it over them, and causing havoc in the north, nay Nigeria in the name of Islam.
In Kaduna State, large quantities of the leaflets were left at the state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Press Centre weekend by unknown persons.
The leaflets entitled, ‘’Warning to Boko Haram’’, claimed that Akhwat Akwop stood for the Christian equivalent of Boko Haram, adding that it would be at the fore front of the struggle for the emancipation of northern minorities who are Christians or Muslims.
The leaflets read in part, ‘’Greetings in the name of our Lord and most gracious saviour and shield, Jesus Christ.
‘’Recent happenings in the body polity of our dear nation, Nigeria, compel us once again to reiterate our view and commitment.
‘’Akhwat Akwop will ever be at the forefront of the struggle for the emancipation of northern minorities (Christians and Muslims) from continued oppression and inhuman savageries”.
Apparently blaming the current activities of Boko Haram on those not happy with the victory of President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa of Kaduna State, both minority Christians, Akhwat Akwop posed seven questions.
The questions include, whether it was a crime for either Jonathan or Yakowa to become president and governor respectively or whether it was a crime for the Sawaya people of Tafawa Balewa in Bauchi State to be landlords in their ancestral lands?
The group asked why the ‘’innocent people of Plateau State have been made to pay so much in tears and blood’’ and ‘’why the innocent farmers in Benue, Taraba, Kogi states have been continually attacked and killed by alleged terrorists as well as why Christians in Bauchi, Yobe, Borno states were being killed or whether or not it was a crime for northern minorities to say that enough was enough of Hausa/Fulani oppression?’’
According to the Akhwat Akwop, ‘’majority of Nigerians know that it is the Hausa Fulani and their misguided allies who always plan and execute mayhem.
‘The group declared:’’We prefer peace but ever ready for war. Boko Haram is hereby warned that if it carries out any further attacks on Christians anywhere in the north, our commandos will unleash deliberate attacks on selected targets in cities with majority Muslim population in the far north.
‘’Your people (Boko Haram) will see and experience what you have been doing to others first hand. Akwhat Akwop has never targeted women and children and we do not intend to ever do so. However, if the fatwa placed on our daughters Nyeri Debby Yakowa by Boko Haram is not immediately lifted and indeed if anything happens to her or any Christian lady anywhere in the north, we shall unleash a storm of wastage on female Hausa/ Fulani anywhere we get them”.
‘’Boko Haram must not involve itself in the internal politics of Kaduna State. Kaduna State and the Middle Belt are a no-go area for Boko Haram. Go back to the desert where you come from.
‘’Hausa/ Fulani Muslim men who wear jeans and T-shirts, sneak into our areas to drink alcohol, cavort with and deceive some of our gullible and irresponsible women should know that their days are numbered.
‘’Our commandos have instructions to take you out. You are strongly advised to stay in your Sharia”.

How can you expect this to happen, when we are both trapped in this dungeon called Nigeria, because the Northerners wish to keep this nation one?

The Igbos would make natural allies to the Yoruba, because both groups are similar in terms of education and affluence.

That is why outside observers say the WEALTHY south.

^^Now, that's one long article. How many words? 11000? huh

@topic
A single term of 5years is okay. 5 years is long enough for any serious minded leader to consolidate his achievements.
read the highlighed parts wink i know people could not read everything

Now why even 5 yrs, why can't he just use 4 yrs since he had already had 1 yr wasted yr to start with undecided
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Mulling About Single Term In His Own Words by aljharem(op): 1:26am On Jul 24, 2011
I will not talk about the tenure of the government. The constitution has said four years, though some believe that the tenure is too short to make any change which I also believe. I believe because if you are a new person and you are elected as a governor today, it will take one to one and half years for you to really stabilize. And you also know that some members of your cabinet are not good and that is why in most cases, after one year or two, Mr. President reshuffles the cabinet and by the time you want to go for another two and half years, it is another election and you are all busy about winning election. That is a constitutional problem", he declared.
Analysts say it was a subtle way of saying the four-year constitutional prescription is no longer a reliable prescription and that the presidency might have given the go ahead signal to get the necessary machinery in motion to amend the provision.
From Jonathan’s analysis, for a governor or a president to make meaningful impact, he would need about a year to "settle down." And if he has another five or six years to work, then he would very most likely do something reasonable. On the contrary, with one year gone out of four, the governor or president has just about two years to work as he must face re-election challenges which would be a veritable source of distraction and, therefore, may not be able to do much even if he has the best of intentions.

as you all can see our president is not serious, it took 4 yrs for jonathan to transform lagos

it took 3 yrs for idangbon and buhari to transform nigeria

why can't our president just use his 8 yrs in 2 terms to transform nigeria

why must he use ONE yr to settle down before he starts working when he has been the president a year before after yaradua's death

is our president serious at all huh huh huh huh
