awolowo might have had the interest of yorubas at heart but zik had the interest of black people at heart that was why he didnt see things in a tribal way and we wonder why he was called zik of africa while awolowo was called asuwaju of yorubaland.

bashr4:
this free education you people keep talking about was not only in the west , my mum attended WTC in enugu and it was free, also her teaching college was also free so stop this rubbish claims, 40 percent of eastern funds where invested in education too , you cant rewrite history my friend.
wrong, there was free education in the east for 3 yrs and then failed

abuja is in the middle belt and when you talk of northern leaders your are refering to hausa/fulani and kanuri who are not indigens of abuja, their infulence on abuja is political and not cultural,
Hausa/fulani and kanuri are also to the middle belt. Hausas are indigenes of abuja and both politically and cultural

bashr4:
you can keep insulting ZIK but he saw all of us as one ,black people who needed to compete with white people and not tribe vs tribe maybe he was too advanced and detrabalised for a country like nigeria.
Yes even if you see you family as one, who you go to ur brother's land and take it just because he is your relative and you are against some people. No

The proper thing to do is to ask and negotiate.

the same lagos was later made capital , did they consult anybody before they appoint positions in a federal govenment capital?

bunch of tribalist keep going around posting igbo threads all over the place. bad belle people.
How can you consider this an igbo bashing thread. Lets discuss
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Was Founded On Deceit, Greed And Lies. by aljharem(m): 5:07am On Jul 22, 2011

Zik wants Lagos to become a federal capital, "like Washington," electing its own representatives  without reference to Awolowo, in whose territory it sits.

i belive this is the correct statement and i see nothing wrong with it, abuja today is nigeria  capital and the federal govt does not need middle belt governors before it can elect a minister for abuja, you people need to get off your tribalist way of thinking.
If you see nothing bad in it then You are not honest here

Abuja today can not do anything without the hand of Northerners or northern leaders in it.

if that is so, then The same could have been applied to the west.

You need to have an agreement with the leader of the west before you can make such move.

Abuja was donated by a native (Babaginda) Lagos was donated by the british

This is not tribalism , that is if you are honest with yourself

i think he is talking about this, and i see not problem or tribalism in it

this is history and no one is insulting anyone. In nairaland we need to discuss about the civil war without insult or being moved to tribalism section

I believe we can have an intelligent discussion free of insult on the topics of the civil war.

ALA Igbo is not home for the weak nor the fools. you must be a good competitor to survive in alaigbo
I got the point they are making perfectly well:

1)in sw fed government solves for them 30% of problem while
state government solve for them 50% and individual fills the gap of 5% and the rest of 15% unattained.

2)in the north fed gov solves 60% and state gov 35% individual 1% - 2% and the rest unattained.

but in the east the hausa was giving a land to develope in enugu state (ugwuoba area), ananmbra state (atani) area, abia state (umuahia area) and delta state (asaba area) even in ebonyi state too. also in enugu yoruba's were giving a land too to develope.

dear friend after many years of land alocated to this people free of charge,go there to see for yourself not even a bungalo house is built by them.
look in the east the government don't give us free lands instead we buy them.
wrong, who are the weak and fools. But that aside

what land are you talking about. when nollywood started did it not start by land allocation and funds from the SG of lagos. So given people land would not solve the problem.

so by giving them land, u expect someone from the north to just go and build a house and business their. It does not work like that

the enivornment has to be there.

there have to be market for him. ie people that would buy his product

there has to be fund released by the State to get him started.

same was done to Igbos in lagos so why can they do the same to northerners and yorubas

the envoriment has to be right and it is not. the market has to be there.

calculia if you do your research and see how fulani are treated and perceived in the middle belt you will see a case of provocation at the hands of the tiv leadership and the incompetence of the authorities, how can you kill the same people who are negotiating for peace with you? when will you get the peace or dont the tiv want peace with us?  these people have a history of killing fulani leaders thinking it will weaken the fulani in the region when it is just making things more difficult and ungovernable for everyone, nigeria is for all nigerians, we all have the right to move freely, wallahi benue doesn't belong to them it belongs to all nigerians and if you want to restrict our movement what is the point nigeria is one? please stop being hypocrites and life will be easy for all of us and those who want peace
well said

Calculia:
So they take the law into their own hands now, if i was to take your word for it. That is even a worse case scenario than the aforesaid earlier. A country can't function properly with this mob justice mentality of yours. I just pray that u people don't turn Nigeria into another Somalia at the rate your going. It is appalling.
so would u allow you people and leaders to be killed without u screaming

c'mon be really, the last time i remember, when igbos were killed in the north sometimes 2002, northerners in onitsha, aba and co were all killedx2

so what are u whinning about angry
