Obiagu1: Whether his name is Ebelechukwu or Ebelemi is not important. What is important is he will be the President from 2011- 2015 and maybe to 2019.
So deal with it. no aguring let him win first before you blow your triumpet if you want to vote for him, then that is fine by me so long as other people are not voting for him based on his ethnic affliations then cool |

tpiah!: i dont do politics because finding integrity in politics is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
but what of the azikiwe which we were told is his third name. jonathan know it is a lie a bloody lie his name was never azikiwe but it is obvious that he had to pick that name to feed the ethnic bigots shame on him people are begining to wake up; our ascentors are not asleep |

Onlytruth: @Alj harem,
This is where we part ways.
What you are proposing is what we've had for 12 years in Igboland, and has led to us being relegated to the backseat of Nigerian politics. You cannot be a jack of all trades and master of none. We need a party that originates from Igboland, founded on our own set of values, and build that party into a national party.
We cannot continue with our past, thought I suspect that would serve YOUR interest of keeping us in chains. Ain't happening. No onlytruth do not get me wrong APGA can still be a very strong force to recon with and ofcourse it is an igbo party; you just have to give them time to grow what dem-people is saying is also true, APGA has to make inroads to other states apart from the SE maybe even SW or North. But first of all there is no strong politician in the east right now that can pull such crowd of people we need to put 1 of our own in the fedral level make allies with the SS and SW make people know him and love him THEN, we can talk about him being the president and if no political party like him he can easlly move to APGA bring momentum of people who are powerful with him from the north and west NO group in Nigeria whats to put us in chain and I certainly do not what to do that our interest is best achieved this way |

nuzo: Are we ever gonna get tired lying to ourselves?
No doubt, Igbos have to get their games straight politically. However, its so clear to all that in south east, Igbos voted for individuals rather than party, while other zones voted for party and religion. . . . . not really minding the individuals.
Now, tell me the difference?
Ive always said it that ethnicity and religion will be the deciding factors.
APGA, PDP or ACCORD; I rather go for individuals than parties. i believe every group in nigeria from the border of sokoto to cross river no group even in the north will vote based on ethnic or religious reasons we in the north have now opened our eyes to reality |

Onlytruth: Alj harem,
You make sense with your points. However, I believe that APGA should be scrapped, or taken away from Peter Obi. thank you I do not believe APGA should be scrape, no point for that since the nature of Ndigbo is that we move about (which is an advantage) then i believe the more party we are in the better the chances of us getting to the top in few years time If the west love ACN then more igbos should be in ACN for the interest of our people in the WEST and also more shot at the presidential race If the north love CPC then leave the igbos in there so as to protect our interest up north and more shot at the presidential race If the east love APGA and ACCORD; let it keep running in the nearest future they will win seats in the whole east You see onlytruth, the more diverse we are the more options we have for ourselves and that is one of the reasons i did not support jonathan's endorsement by ohaneze We should keep our options open and wide always so other political groups would not know our decision to the last moment I love as we have no king, thus we are more diverse and have different ideas on ground different people with different ideas can go to different political groups so long as the interest of our people is served then i think we should be ok |

ak47mann: alj uche are you aboki or abi igbo converted to Islam i have igbo linage Onlytruth: Alj harem
There is nothing to "come back to my senses" for. I have always supported ONLY JONATHAN, not PDP. In fact part of why I support Jonathan is because I thought that Peter Obi wanted to ensure that PDP does not rig elections in Igboland. Well, they apparently didn't (I have not found any evidence that they did). But Peter Obi sold APGA. That changes everything. APGA is the most popular party in Igboland. So, if the party failed to win, it can only mean that APGA failed to field and sponsor better candidates. And I say deliberately. i understand your point well but now that APGA is not doing too well i think if Ngige wins he can be fielded in 2015 whether jonathan wins or not it is a win win suitation here ACN wants to be seen as a national party and that is even the reason they picked ribadu instead of tinubu 2015 or 2019 ACN has to pick a man of igbo extract as vp or presidential candidate and remember we still have PDP to pick a candidate if we get the presidential ticket, that candidate can then be groomed as a leader to the Ndigbo because of the power he has what do you think |

Onlytruth: I know that some folks will like us to believe that PDP rigged elections in SE. I don't believe that. It is only that People just voted the best they could find. APGA did not provide better alternatives. My concern is that PDP is a tower of babel, serving only the personal interests of elected officials.
The duty of parties like APGA and ACN is to woo away good materials from PDP, or present better materials to contest against PDP candidates. ACN delivered in the SW (some say by hook or crook), APGA failed to deliver in SE. Bottomline, we are back to where Ekweremadu will remain the selfish lame-duck deputy whatever-the -hell- he-has-been.
The highest Igbo in government is a houseboy to the senate president. Pathetic. So, if Jonathan for some reason fails to deliver on his promise to us, we have no one at the national assembly to speak out.
I supported Jonathan on the basis that APGA would perform well in the parliamentary elections. If Peter Obi sold everything to PDP, then, he should scrap APGA and join PDP. you can talk like this thank God you are coming back to your senses Ok right now i really do not see anything wrong with the political suitation of Ndigbo, i tell you if Ngige wins, then that would be the best way to elevate ourselves because by 2015 ACN would have no choice but to field in an igbo somewhere in the national level whichcan be Ngige also remember we still have PDP and APGA as an ace card incase ACN mess up |

soloqy: Please dont use the opinions of a few igbo people on an internet forum to judge the whole people.
People are beginning to think that opinions on an internet forum like Nairaland, represents the true opinions of the general public. thank you my brother jason123: Another ODE blaming the yorubas for their political failure. I am sure if your roof is leaking, it is the yorubas fault. If your car is stolen, it is the yorubas fault. Sincerely, if you do not like yorubas then NEVER come to the Swest or Lagos. I mean, you should not live with people that hate you, should you?
BTW, if the "average" yoruba man hates the igbo man, do you not think places like Lagos, Ogun and Ibadan will be the burial ground for the igbo communities ? ODESON!!! cantell: Igbos can never be free till they realise that the yourbas are not the cause of their problems. They keep living in the past and this is one of the reasons why they are still the underdog in politics. ekt_bear: ^-- Well said.
