That is why you should not engage in this discourse with me, because you don't know what transpired in Nairaland when ACN was announced to be in hot pursuit of APGA in Anambra state. Your ethnic folks like fstranger called Igbos fools because we were voting vigorously for Ngige who was ACN's candidate in Anambra. They taunted and insulted Igbos, as if it was Yorubas that were voting in Anambra. They even went as far as saying that ACN will dominate Igboland. So, I went to play my part to ensure that it would never happen. We are seeing the result. Our dear Dora Akunyili has clinched the ticket. People seem to under-estimate the power of the internet. Mind you, the election dint have to be rigged for Dora to win. Just propaganda did the work.

thats not true majority of yoruba women who marry outside yoruba marry edo urhobos and hausas as well as other nigerian tribes + ghanian togo etc whites also but def not as much ibo (could be growing) . esp edo and urhobo which is why many of the mid westerners have yoruba names given by their grandmothers or mothers. to the point people

the number of yoruba women married to edos and urhobos hausas other northern minority tribes is far more than those married to ibo men - FACT.

The reason why I included Ikemba is that, during the times when he was still able-bodied, multiple opportunities rose for him to (with the help of other Igbo political heavyweights), redraw the political landscape of Eastern Nigeria - not just the SE. With this, they should have formed a party which was to carter for our collective interests. But no, they didn't. Who in Igboland, can summon many important Igbo personalities at a go, into marathon meetings to chart the course for the political future of Ndigbo, apart from Ikemba?

Instead, when APGA was created, he scared a lot of non-Ndigbo away by continuously shouting how APGA is an "Igbo" party and belongs to Ndigbo. He alone should have seen beyond my own political view considering his life experiences within political Nigeria. I really thought these guys knew better. Infact, I was glued to my laptop waiting for an APGA-led tsunami in all SE states plus some SS states, on 9/4/11 but ofcourse, how disappointed I was.

When Peter Obi and his gang were busy endorsing GEJ, I remember that I was shouting here on nairaland that, they should make sure we get all the SE states right, so that, we'd still always "something to fall back on" if GEJ doesn't win or if he wins and falls back on all his promises for Ndigbo.

Felt like eating sad! Words can't describe how I felt. It was so demoralizing for me a person.

Southern unity is very good. I champion it but, on whose terms? Southern unity would've been good if ACN has the west while APGA has the east and then, there's some kind of merger (which could be de-merged at any time considering the historical rivalry between the EAST and the WEST). This is the only solution to Southern political unity otherwise, any other arrangement would be lopsided considering APGA hasn't got a base.

Very good question. I'm not impressed as you may well know by now.

Well, first of all we must salute ACN for their savvy political strategies and tactics which have paid off for them in this election climate. Their political calculations paid off for them big time. For them to make inroads into the East signifies the failure of APGA to replicate what ACN did in the SW, in the SE. I've watched carefully, the gradual widening misdirection of APGA since 2009 but never expected it to be a failure on this scale.

First of all, it looks like they're a confused party with no sense and articulation of ideas for expansion beyond ethic borders. Even within the SE, they couldn't win votes. What an abysmal shame. Just look at CPC - just formed last year, already winning elections. The whole APGA thing has been a
fraud to say the least.

It was really disheartening to see Peter Obi running around against Ngige (on behalf of Dora) where ordinarily, APGA should by now, have established themselves within the SE with major inroads into the SS. The South-South, by now, should be part and parcel of APGA - if Ojukwu, Obi and Umeh knew what they were doing.

I look up to the sky and I see nothing but circling vultures who have finally come from far but familiar lands, to feast on the carcass of my beloved but politically disintegrated South East.

Exactly brother. If we can have Hausa-Fulani, why cant we have Yoruba-Igbo Can you see that this divide and rule mechanism is killing us, southerners. The NC are afraid of the North, they want to unite with the south. All we need to do first, is to unite the South. Especially Yoruba and Igbo, politically. Once that is done, the SS will follow automatically. By this, we have move the batle ground from the South to the middle belt, If this can be done, our (southern) agenda of progress, religious tolerance and education can be mainstream in Nigeria. The so called North, will have no choice be to follow the progressive ways while the Northern cabal that has impoverished the youths (almajiris) for their manipulations will be relegated to the background.

Our Ideologies will be mainstream. The south has always been for federalism. That will be implemented. If not, a better system will be used to prevent marginalisation of the minorities in the south and north.

The hausas and fulanis fought with Kanuris. In fact, the kanuris wanted to secede from Northern Nigeria before brought back. Yet you do not see kanuris behaving like Kids over spilled milk. The war happened, fine, move on, please!!!

I think if thats a crime Awolowo is already guilty of that, may be we learnt from him and Tinubu.

My advise to you Yoruba Guys: Just know that just because you make a lot of noise on the media. does not mean Igbo's even hear or give a thought to what you say.

Ngige is good and great, but he is trying to introduce another tribes ethnic party into Igboland. Not just Igboland but the beating heart of Igboland. That will only happen when APGA has done same twice in the SW.  Have you sat down to consider the political implication of that precedence being established?

If you really think Nigeria has gone beyond ethnic sentiments in politics, then you must be dreaming. That will only happen when every region relies on her own generated resources. As long as resources continue to be competed for at the center, its all man to his folks.  

Ngige must not become like that one solder who because he wanted and felt passion for Nigeria, initiated a coup without consulting his ethnic leaders. His actions initiated the killing of more than 2 million Igbos not counting those who died in the initial pogroms. Lost us our position and bargaining  power. We must not abuse our individuality in Igbo land, nor can we be expressing love for Nigeria, which other ethnic groups do not have.  

We love Ngige, if he should still love to lead us, he should move to APGA or PDP, there is space for him!
