saydfact: I actually don't think they've used more than they shd...
If you give me the surface area or linear lenght, I can calculate the quantity for you...
But 35 for a standard 2 bedroom under a decking is not much....
That been said.... It can be calculated to be triple sure.
Goodluck. Thank you for your response, can you drop your number so I can forward the drawing with dimension to you on WhatsApp

Hello experts in the house, please can someone let me know what they think about the usage of cement for my plastering work My plastering guys have used up 35 bags of cement to plaster the internals of a 2 bedroom flat with each rooms having toilet and bathroom and plastering of under decking for flat. I think the cement usage is much and i am not there to monitor this work. can someone who have done similar work share what their experience is like in terms of the cement usage...
i have 3 units of 2 bedrooms to still plaster including the external walls, with the way they are going i may spend ore on cement. my current cement and sand ratio is 1:10 - 1 bag of cement for 10 head pan of sand.
please help!!! |

rotecch77: Size of room determine the number of cement, all rooms are not same size I do use ratio 1:4 so the ratio 1:4 is one bag of cement to 4 head pan of sand or wheelbarrow, which is the right mix. Thank you |

kopell: Bros grab it, if possible, negotiate the fence with him as well. Please pay attention to material he quoted for the job. Some of them may charge less for labor and hit you hard with materials. Thank you for your response, I will be the one buying the materials like cement, sand, water etc... With the response i am getting here i will ask them to start work. |

Alkanelly: Hello Nairalanders, I am just about to start plastering of the attached 4 unit of 2 bedroom flats. The Togolese Mason has priced #950k as labor payment to do the work. I will be the one to provide cement, sand, water and other materials needed to complete the job. The plastering include all inside plastering up and down, all outside plastering up and down, under decking plastering, window and door dressing, art work on windows, parapet dressing. Do you think his last price of 950k is fair? He started with 1.4M. Here is the house, the size is 22.9m X 11.5m

Joy2world: Hello house, we've been given a quotation for electrical conduit pipping for a double two bedroom apartment all en-suit with VC (First deck) . So I brought it to the house for review. thanks I think some of the material price are a bit on the high side, i recently bought for my own building of same specification you have given here, my location is Port Harcourt and things in Port Harcourt can be a bit pricey compared to other parts of Nigeria.. we bought one bundle of 20mm tiger PVC pipe for #20,000 each. Smart DB for #42k each some of the accessories like couplings, U-box, male bushing etc should cost at max #2000 to #2500 per packet. The price of the knockout boxes quoted is okay. |

double3: What exactly is the labour and installation all about for the aluminum windows. Isn't labour supposed to be included in the charge per window design??. The plastering seems fair considering the fact I got a bill similar to urs for just 2 blocks of 3bedroom flat. And urs is 4 blocks of 2bedroom. Apparently the cost per window is different from the labor cost and installation. |
