I know some people will disagree with what I want to say, but I will say it nevertheless. why can't we create such companies in Nigeria so that other people can launder their money to our country and then we can use it to develop our country. if they make noise about it we seize it and and accused the owners of corruption and money laundering case close just like the US do. do you think the US will repatriate that $300m dollars to Equatorial Guinea? I don't think so. this developed nations are safe haven for corrupt politicians, we can make our country a safe haven for corrupt African leaders as long as they bring their wealth to our country. since we cannot generate enough money from within our country to pay off our debt and fund our budget I think we should start thinking outside the box like our erstwhile colonial masters. I think we should change our foreign policy just like the US to include imperialism and exploitation. imagine if Gaddafi had stored his wealth in Nigeria before he was killed, your guess is as good as mine that money will still be in our control and we can be using it till Libya rise again to start recovering the loot which won't have happened anytime soon. African leaders are corrupt and there is nothing we can do to change that but there is something we can do to benefit from it. |
