A man stood for six hours on a flight to allow his wife stretch out on his chair to sleep. But Twitter users are horrified by his action.

A woman who witnessed the man's selfless act while on board a plane shared a photo on Twitter, writing: "This guy stood up the whole 6 hours so his wife could sleep. Now THAT is love."

A 37-year-old Nigerian national was arrested on Friday, August 30, with 600 grams of heroin, from Nand Nagri area of North East district in Delhi. The accused identified as Uchenna Israel Obutt, was caught while on his way to meet a receiver in Northeast Delhi.

"We received a tip-off that around 2 pm a foreigner will be going to deliver contraband in Uttar Pradesh and he will come with heroin near the Nand Nagri flyover," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast) Atul Thakur said.

During investigation, it was found that Obutt was arrested by the Crime Branch in 2015 for using a fake visa. He was released on bail in February 2018, the officer said.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, has arrested one Darlington John Irmahia, for alleged internet fraud. Darlington, 26, a graduate of Fine and Applied Art , was arrested on Tuesday, August 8, 2019 , at a restaurant in Lekki ,Lagos.

The EFCC operative in an earlier operation had seized a vehicle allegedly belonging to Darlington who fled the scene, abandoning his vehicle. In an attempt to retrieve the vehicle, through a proxy, luck ran out of him when the operatives denied the proxy access to the car and trailed him to a restaurant where Darlington was arrested.

At the point of arrest, fraudulent documents, and phonographic videos were recovered. The suspect would soon be arraigned in court.

On Tuesday, A 30-year old Pastor Nwabueze Anaka of the new generation churches in the area allegedly stabbed his mother, Mrs. Grace Anaka to death in Ifite Oraifite in Ekwusigo local government area of Anambra State.

The suspect took to his heels immediately he killed the mother. The reason for the dastardly act was yet to be ascertained as at press time. Confirming the incident, Police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed said the deceased was stabbed with a dagger.

He said: “There was a report at Oraifite Division today 27/8/2019 at about 12:00pm that same date at about 6:am, one Nwabueze Anaka, aged about 30yrs of Umunakwa Oraifite, allegedly stabbed his mother one Grace Anaka ‘f’, aged about 50 years with a dagger and took to flight.

“Police detectives attached to the Division visited the scene, photographed and took the victim to the hospital where she was certified dead by the medical doctor after which corpse was deposited at the rest land morgue, Oraifite.

A truck belonging to Dangote hit two brothers, crushing the younger one to death at Ekpo Abasi roundabout in Calabar South at about 1:45 PM, Friday.

According to eyewitnesses who spoke to CrossRiverWatch, the speeding truck driver lost control and knocked down the two brothers who were in a tricycle. The boys fell off the tricycle and the speeding truck crushed the 4-year-old boy on the spot while the other sustained injuries.

To avoid breakdown of law and order, police officers intervened by taking the driver and truck to the police station as an angry mob had threatened to set the driver and truck ablaze.

Rotimi Amaechi, a former Minister of Transportation and minister-designate has been promoted to the highest rank in the Catholic Church under the order of the Knights of St. John.

His spokesman, Israel Ibeleme said Amaechi was conferred with the honour at the Pope John Paul II Catholic Centre in Abuja for his service to the Order and humanity for over 20 years. He quoted Monsignor Kenneth Enang, in charge of the Pope John II Catholic Centre, as saying that the promotion was premised on Amaechi’s support toward the growth of the Catholic church.

“We want to thank you Knights of St John’s, all the other knights, college of knights for the work you are doing for the church. For the support we get from the Knights in many areas not only the financial support but the moral support.

”The Knights built the seminary we have now at Kuje when Cardinal Ekandem Dominic was alive and many of the Knights have built churches and handed over to the church. We ask God to bless you and your good works and let your labours not be in vain,” Enang was quoted as saying.

A Kenyan lawmaker, Kwale woman Representative, Zulekha Hassan was on Wednesday ordered out of the National Assembly for disrupting a parliamentary session. The legislator was kicked out of the chambers after she walked in with a baby.

Speaker of the National Assembly Hon. Chris Omulele, MP Luanda termed move as unprecedented.

The Kwale Woman Rep said she had an emergency that’s why she came to parliament with the baby and suggested that a mother’s room be put in place to curb such situations.

She said, “Today, I had an emergency, what was I supposed to do? Miss parliament? That’s why I just came with her. I knew I would be staying here just for a while and later when my situation is better, I would go. But if there was a room or a creche or nursery, I would then be able to put my baby there

A student of Kano State University of Science and Technology (KUST) Wudil has killed an 18- year- old Almajiri Adamu Ibrahim at Sabon Garin ‘yan Kwaya in Wudil local government area of Kano. The student known as Lubsi killed Ibrahim while fetching water from a well close to the university.

An eyewitness, Husaini Ibrahim, said he and the deceased were at the well when the alleged killer asked them to allow him to fetch water. Ibrahim said when they refused, the alleged killer hit the late Adamu with a wooden slab.

The deceased was rushed to the hospital but gave up the ghost. Spokesman of the Kano state police command, DSP. Abdullahi Haruna confirmed the incident. Haruna, said the alleged killer is now at large but the police is investigating the matter.
