Spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Yakubu Sabo has confirmed the arrest of one Aisha, who stabbed her husband, Yahaya Maiyaki twice in the stomach on Friday, after they had a misunderstanding in their home located at Sarduana Crescent.

It was gathered that the couple had quarreled the night before the incident. According to the victim’s brother, Ahmed Maiyaki, the woman had thrown boiling water at Maiyaki but he managed to dodge.

The victim is presently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kaduna.

DSP Yakubu Sabo said the suspect is in police custody and will be charged to court after investigation.

The member representing EHIME MBANO/ IHITE Uboma/ Ubowo Federal Constituency Emeka Nwajiuba (Accord, Imo), who was recently announced as a ministerial nominee, has decamped from the Accord Party to the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Wednesday.

The Deputy Speaker, Ahmed Wase made the announcement while reading a letter from the lawmaker.

Nwajiuba was nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari as a ministerial nominee and he has now decamped to the ruling APC.

The Deputy Speaker added that Toby Okechukwu would lead a delegation of the House to support Nwajubia for his screening at the Senate.

Bobrisky has reacted to reports of getting 'arrested' today, over a N665k debt he owed a boutique.

The cross-dresser and Lagos socialite was reportedly 'arrested', over an alleged breach of endorsement agreement between him and the management of the bouqitue. However, after he signed an undertaking to pay N300k today and balance up later, he was granted bail at the police station.

Bobrisky in his reaction to the arrest report via Instagram, alleged that the lady behind his 'arrest' was pained that he dropped her contract. He added that she thought the 'almighty Bobrisky' will be detained by the police.

A 12-year old girl, Precious Nwali was was allegedly stripped naked and red pepper applied on her private part by her mistress, Mrs Charity Effiong for allegedly stealing her N26,000 at Nzekwe Street, Awka Anambra state was later found by a good Samaritan while wandering and crying along the market.

Narrating her ordeal, the victim, who sustained series of marks on her body, said she had severally suffered maltreatment in the hands of her mistress. “She always flogs me with cable wire. She has her own children but she hardly beats them nor sends them to any errand,” she wept soberly.

Also speaking, the woman that picked her up, Mrs. Amaka Okoye, said it took her about thirty minutes to wash off the grinded pepper in her private part.

Reacting, the Secretary, Anambra State Child Protection Network, Lady Hope Okoye, described the action as a total violation to the state child right act of 2004. “Stuffing Cameroon pepper in the girl’s private part is another level of abuse which has psychological, physical and emotional consequences.

“I don’t know why this should be swept under the carpet for a woman to afford to do this inhumane treatment on the little child,” she noted.

The Police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident, but said the suspect denied applying pepper in the victim’s private part. He said she claimed that the victim stole the sum of N26,000 from her house, adding that she removed her undies in the course of searching for the money.

He said, “She said the girl stole her N26,000 which led her to remove her pant so she can see whether she hid the money inside her pant.”

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will get N714m ($2m) from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for participating and coming third at the recently concluded 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt. Nigeria finished third after beating Tunisia 1-0 in the third-place game to win the bronze medal for a record eighth time in AFCON history.

African Cup of Nations champions, Algeria will get the sum of $4.5 million, while the second-placed team Senegal will get $2.5m. The prizes will be distributed as follows:

Angola and Kenya (Third place in group-stages): $620.000
Round of 16: $670.000 (Benin, Uganda, Egypt, Mali, Guinea, DR Congo, Cameroon and Ghana)

A couple, who attended the same primary school, got married years after and now have a child who they sent to the same school.

As kids, the couple went to Unique Fnps Nursery and Primary school in Asaba, Delta State. The man, who was the headboy, later began dating the woman after they graduated and were old enough. They eventually got married some years back.

The couple went on to have two kids and when their first child was old enough, he was sent to the same school his parents attended.

The Nigerian Army has confirmed the killing of an Army Colonel and a Captain in an ambush laid by Boko Haram terrorists in Borno/ Yobe states axis. The Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, in Charge of the 212 Battalion in the northeast, Col Ado Isa said in a statement that the incident happened when troops were in hot pursuit of terrorists who came to attack a military base.

He said three soldiers were also killed in the attack, while the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Tukur Buratai has commiserated with the families of the fallen heroes.

The statement by Col Isa reads: “Troops of 212 Battalion deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Jakana, on Wednesday 17Th July 2019 dealt with and neutralised unconfirmed number of Boko Haram/ISWAP Terrorists when they woefully attempted to infiltrate their base in dire need for logistics.

“The terrorists came at about 1845 hours in 7 Gun Trucks and fought fiercely to infiltrate the camp, but the attack was thwarted with heavy fire and bombardment by the gallant and patriotic troops who were vigilant and battle-ready.
