PoliticsRe: Obj's 8yrs VS GEJ's 6yrs In Power: Who Did Better? by Allohrandy(m): 12:21am On Feb 17, 2015
mikeansy:
GEJ record on economy and infrastructure far better than OBJ

However GEJ is facing unprecedented security challenges but Nigerians must remember that OBJ did not solve Niger-Delta crisis, OBJ levelled Nigerian villages like Odi and Zaki-biam without blinking and yet he could not use the Army to defend Bakassi but rather handed it to Cameroon on a platter of gold.

as much as OBJ may not like to hear it. his presidency was a failure
what economy are you talking about? The facts speak for themselves. Our currency was stable during OBJ tenure; 1 dollar was about 130 naira as of today the naira is 213 to 1 dollar. OBJ was able to cancel and reduce our national debt. Now Nigeria is in so much debt and GEJ is even planning to borrow another 1 billion dollars to buy weapons. Our foreign reserves was very high during we had excess money to spend. GEJ has completely used up the excess account and reduced our foreign reserves.
GEJ supporters claim the reason we are experiencing economy hardship in Nigeria is because of falling prices of oil which is about 40$ now but they failed to realised that oil was less than 10$ per barrel when OBJ took office in 99. and GEJ had more revenue to work with than OBJ because Nigeria was broke when OBJ took office in 99 and left billions of dollars in excess crude account and foreign reserves.
In terms of security, I still prefer OBJ to GEJ because it was only during GEJ tenure we started experiencing bomb blast. OBJ would have done better in handling the boko haram insurgency than GEJ.
In terms of power and infrastructure, both GEJ and OBJ failed woefully but I think GEJ performed better than OBJ.

Same fate as another oil-dependent giant, Russia:

Perhaps if we spent more time being creative and adding value instead of waiting for dash dash handouts or jobs for salary ONLY not for real work, we may reduce the impact of the fall in Niger Delta oil revenue, not so?

What did OBJ & Athief'kuu do to DIVERSIFY our economy all their eight years in power compared to what Jonathan/Sambo have done in five years huh
That is the question to be asked & comparion to be made by reasonable citizens, not so?

stop comparing Nigeria with Russia because the situation is different . Russia is currently experiencing sanctions from the US and European Union because of its war in Ukraine. Saudi Arabian currency is still stable and its about 1 dollars to 5 Riyal ( Saudi Arabian currency). Our economy is in a state of mess because PDP failed to diversify it for the past 16 yrs. The government keep deceiving Nigerians that we are the largest economy in Africa and one of the fastest economy in the world. Meanwhile most Nigerians youth are underemployed or unemployed and our currency is losing value. The facts speak for itselfs

If you are not aware sir, JEG is no longer CLUELESS as you think! He is now in- charge of Nigeria. This man tried to please one section of this Country by giving them almost all the appointments and yet they call him dumbo.
The fear of JEG now is the begining of wisdom.
There is difference between been in charge and being desperate. GEJ is just desperate for power. First he change the pdp constitution so he could ran un-opposed. Now he is trying to hold on to power at all cost. A desperate man do crazy stuff.

U are very naive about d game plan between APC and Jega.

Why is d non availability of voters card rampant in south than north? I know a friend that has been frustrated out by inec, his card is no where to b found, He did the last registration yet no show.

Jega has a plan with Thiefnubuu.

That's Why apc is so confident of winning, they have been assured by jega.
There was problem with the pvc in both North and south. The system is not perfect or do you think its easy to distribute 68 million PVC without experiencing problems. Was it not our own southern politicians that stole 14 thousands PVC from INEC office in Rivers state.

Even if you were the INEC chairman, many people would still not be able to collect their pvc. Jega has done a good job so far. We should all support him in conducting a free and fair election rather than always criticizing him
PoliticsRe: Nazim Mimiko Nominated To Replace Jega From March 1, 2015 by Allohrandy(m): 8:05am On Feb 10, 2015
CyberWolf:
its a lie..if they don't care, why going through the stress to register in the first place?...The truth is that Jega deliberately made collection of PVCs difficult in the south and for that, he must go angry
I didn't experience any difficulty collecting my pvc in PH tho because I collected my PVC early. Some people just like fire brigade approach and wait for the last days to collect their pvc. Its going to be hard collecting your pvc if you wait till the last mins. The truth is that it seems people here in the south have a lower voters apathy than the northerners. Most people I know don't even plan on voting.
PoliticsRe: Nazim Mimiko Nominated To Replace Jega From March 1, 2015 by Allohrandy(m): 7:53am On Feb 10, 2015
eaglechild:
If Jega's name was Eze and the percentage PVC collection was reversed for the different regions, what do you think APC and perhaps the north will be saying?

Let us be objective abeg.

There are obvious irregularities in the distribution of the PVCs.
INEC fell short and Jega is the head, no sentiments here.
I don't think you are fair to critise Jega for the low collection of pvc in the south. In the north, most state governors declare public holiday for people to go collect their pvc and the people were also mobilized by their local politicians. However in the south most people don't really care about the election. For example in my compound in PH, only about 40% have collected their pvc. Most of them will tell you that pdp andAPC don't feed them so why should they waste their time to collect their pvc and vote in the election. I think the south governors need to do more in educating and mobilizing the people in collecting their pvc. Its not jega fault that their is low collection of pvc. I bet you that when the collection date ends in march, most southern states would still not get above 70% because some people just don't care and INEC cant force people to collect their pvc

cjrane:
You should also compare Akpabio to the FCT Minister too!

In any case, Akpabio is better than the duo because Akpabio developed his state ALONE from the village level to what it is now.

The other two had Lagos and Abuja developed by the Federal Government using the entire country's resources and the best thinkers to make Lagos and Abuja what they are today.
Akwa Ibom was not in a village level be Akpabio became the governor. Mobil has done alot to develop for Akwa Ibom before Akpabio

Akpabio is one of the most corrupt governor. If Nigeria was practicing civilised democracy , governors like akpabio would have been inpeached a long time ago. Don't be decieve by those Elephant projects. Akwa Ibom gets more money than lagos state with a population that is not even up to 1/3 of lagos state. Fashola has done more with the little resources he has to work with.

rudedough:
OP listen very carefully. No one and i mean NO one is going to fight this battle for the Northerners. They brought this upon themselves and they should clean their own mess. When the going was good, they wanted quota system, they said Army recruitment is solely for the Northerners, the Southerners who were most qualified and willing to defend our territories were disqualified in place of unqualified Northerners. They recruited cowards, terrorists’ sympathizers, spies, and whatnot in place of brave patriotic Nigerians. Now there is a war and suddenly the Army recruitment process now entertains "infidel" Southerners. They don’t want quota system formula anymore, they want Southerners to help them fight their battle.

The North can blow themselves into oblivion for all I care and I still wont give half-a-sh*t. Just stop accusing Jonathan of not stopping the terrorists, it wasn't Jonathan who recruited cowards into the army, it was Northern Generals who were also a beneficiary of the quota system. Jonathan cannot pick up a riffle and fight for Northerners if Northerners cannot stand up like men to defend themselves in battle. Enough said!
stop saying boko haram is a northern problem. Do you know that thousands of southerners have been killed also. Boko haram is a Nigeria problem and we have to fight it collectively. Do you think if boko haram succeed in capturing the whole northern states that they wont also attack the southern states. Their plans is to islamized the whole Nigeria. If this problem is contain as soon as possible, there will be going to be bomb blast and attack in all Nigerian cities. No one is praying for war so its best to for all Nigerian to fight this boko haram problem because its a fight between good and evil

You just made a critical point. So many incompetent northerners were enrolled into the Nigerian military no thanks to their top army brass of northern origin, the bulk of which are Boko Haram sympathizers.
However not every notherner is sympathetic to Boko Haram. Besides the north is also composed of indigenous Christian communities.
stop blaming the northern soldiers. In every military fighting a war there will always be mole however Majority the soldiers are not sympathetic to boko haram. Do you know hundreds of northern soldiers and polices have been killed by boko haram. If not for those soldiers, you probably not enjoying the freedom you have now. Also boko haram is not a northern problem. thousands of southerners have also been killed by boko haram. When bomb is set, it doesn't discriminate between northerner or southerner. GEJ is the CNC of the armed forces and his solely responsible for the appointment of those incompetence senior military officers. Why don't he appoint officers that will get the job done?

Thumbs up bro,
Our Northern elite created boko haram to make Nigeria 'Ungovernable' for president Jonathan before shakau hijacked it. And now they're crying, expecting Jonathan to turned commando or Rambo overnight and rescue them when they have the key to rescue themselves.

Even if am a Northerner and my community is amongst those ruled by boko haram that does not cloud my sense of sound patriotic judgment or make me bias, sentimental and unnecessarily myopic in my reasoning.

So president Jonathan should stop his executive functions, sit down and be crying. How would that change anythinghuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuh??
you sound dumb and Stup1d. Its the duty of the president to protect the life of all Nigerians. Do you think its only northerners that have been killed by boko haram? Do you want your family member or you to be killed by bomb blast before you realise that the president has to do more to protect the lives of Nigerians.

very backward reportin indeed. No pictures or video. They are in lagos reporting what is happening in Borno state. Bbc, cnn and western news station usually send their reporters to Iraq, Gaza, Maiduguri or any war zone to report the news live. Nigerian journalist cant even travel to their own backyard in borno state to report the news.

dasparrow: Our mothers and grandmothers were mostly miserable in their marriages. Many of them could not leave because they could not afford to raise all the battalion of kids they brought into the world all by themselves. This is fast changing now because more women are flying high in their careers and can afford to take care of their children all by themselves if the need arises. So, women do not have to put up with cheating husbands anymore if they don't want to.

Any man who cannot stay in a monogamous relationship should have no business getting married. I don't know why the sexual urge of the average Nigerian/African bred man is like that of a horse on Viagra. This is why HIV/AIDS almost finished Africans back then because African men sleep around like dogs on heat. With Ebola around, this is not the time to sleep around. It is time African bred men begin to have some self control where sex is concerned. There is more to life than sex. Men from other racial groups are advancing their societies while the African male is only good at fvcking. Then we wonder why our continent Africa is the way it is.
Monogamy relationship/ marriage is not an African tradition. Africans has been practising polygamy marriage for thousand years. Also I don't think getting married to more than one wife is a sin because its not stated in the bible and most prophets in bible had more than one wife.
