I have never seen any picture of GEJ without his ADC when he on an official trip within or outside Nigeria.

I think Baltimore is not really bad. But I will never advice anyone to move to Michigan State. Detroit has the highest unemployment rate in America; the unemployment rate is like 40% and the city of Detroit is currently bankrupt and cant pay its bills. Plus the crime rate in Michigan State is really high.

No. most blacks in East Oakland are not that rich and are more like medium income blacks. Atlanta and DC is the 'Mecca' of rich and successful blacks. In CA, most rich blacks are located in southern CA ( Greater Los Angeles Area) in cities like Carson and Torrance. while cities like Oakland, Compton and Watts have a high number of low income blacks

I live in East Oakland, CA. Its a major city with a big sea port in northern CA and very close to San Francisco. Its a predominantly black American city with a relatively large Nigerian community. its the home of hip pop in California and great rappers like Tupac, MC Hammer, Keyshia Cole and other East Coast rappers were born and raise in Oakland, CA. The crime rate is high in West Oakland but its relatively safe in East Oakland and surrounding counties or towns. A Nigerian lady was fatally shot to death 2 years ago in Oakland. however, I think the crime rate in Oakland has reduced because a new police chief was employed by the City Mayor this year. Oakland, CA is not a bad place to live tho because it has a very high nice and friendly black population. I have never really experience act of violence personally but last year a man and his wife was shot to death closed to my house and my EX- girlfriend's cousin was also shot to death last year. The problem in America is that it is very easy to get a gun.

ayogabriel: Sorry brother,first of all you have to know the style that suits your skin, maybe a clipper, chaoba is better I guess, shaving sticks gives most black bumps, and if you are in older, late 20s and above, I recommend shaving powder, for medication I suggest acneaway cream, its a tube, it has been working for me for alomst a year now, which cost about 150-250 per tube depending on the place u buy it, and also this is important; you have to shave regularly, let's say 2days, but some say its not safe, but since is shave much often, I have been having less bumps. yes. it depends on the individual. As for me, using shaving stick even with a shaving powder always give me bumps so I no longer use shaving stick but an electric clipper. On the other hand, my friend always get bumps if he use clippers but he don't get bumps when he use shaving stick

My advice for the band member is to use their talent to make money in the states because it will be hard for them to get a white collar job without their paper. it is easier for street performers like drummers and dancers to work illegally in the states because they don't pay tax. They could also work playing the drums and musical instrument in churches and get payed under the table. churches in the States don't pay taxes so they can pay under the table, They could also organized street shows playing drums and guitars in the streets of major cities like SF, LA, NY or Vegas and make money from tips gotten from tourists. you don't need to have papers to be a street performer in the States. I met an immigrant from the Gambia last year performing in the street of San Francisco. he is a really good dancer and he performed a weird kind of Gambian dance that amused the tourists and that day he made over $300 (tax free) from tips he got from tourist while performing.

This story brings me back to the 90's when Shina peter's was the man and they came to NY to perform. One of his dancers actually was a neighbor of ours when we lived in Nigeria. My mother was telling her to defect funny enough the girl said no. She went back to Nigeria to oppress. Mind you you could maneuver your situation as an illegal in the 90's. Long story short, the said girl got fired from the band and then she started calling my mother asking for help and crying that if she would have known, she would have defected.

Illegal Immigrants in the 90's had it better because the economy was good and it was very easy to work with fake papers but things have changed since 2001 because employers now e-verify their workers status and the economy is not really good. I had an uncle who came in with a tourist visa and worked illegally in the states in 1994 to 1999 before finally getting married to a US citizen and legalized his Immigration status. he is now a US citizen. I wont advice anybody to come to the States illegally now because it is hard to survive without your papers unless you want to be involved in illegal business like fraud and selling drugs.

I don't think the US government will waste their time and resources to search for the band members unless they commit serious crimes. In US, there are over 11 million illegal immigrants living in the States without legal paper. The only problem is that they will suffer in the US if they don't have close family in the States to help them with jobs and accommodation because no company will want to employ illegal immigrants and they cant rent an apt if they don't have drivers license.
