On a fateful day, I logged into facebook and got chatting with a guy who I later exchanged numbers with.

His name was Donald, a surveyor who was very nice.

After a couple of calls, we got real close and he got to know about Ugonna.

I told him I still had feelings for Ugonna but that I was trying to supress it.

A month later, Donald asked me out. I told him i was going to think about it.

we arranged a meeting just around Chibyke filling station.

He came in a volkswagen passat and it was funny though because I didnt expect it.

I decided to date him because I felt he was broke so no girl would be after him. I also felt he was a very nice person since I liked him already.

Two weeks later, I got a call from Ugonna.

"hey, its me Ugonna" he said.

"uhmm which Ugonna" I asked.

"the one you know, Nnamdi's brother." he replied and I almost fainted.

I didnt bother asking how he got my number.

"why are you calling" i asked.

"i was going through my stuff and I found the chain I gave you, the memories of you just came flooding, i remember everything now." he said.

I couldnt even say a damn word.

"and most of all I remember how much I love you." he said and I hung up

Life in school was nice though, but you cant compare it to life at home.. I had to learn how to manage my finances with my roommates.

I got a logde close to school and we are three in the room.

After some weeks of adapting to the environment, I saw the university as somewhere not too different from home.... Just a place without my mum.

My logde was cool... I mean it had the necessary things for students- light and water.

The kush men in my logde provided us with security because my logde is the last logde in that area... It's closeness to bushes or actually forests made it dangerous for some people..

Other students saw my logde as the most dangerous logde on campus, while others would just turn away once they hear the name of the lodge.

The happenings in school, tight lectures, running around from this lecture hall to another made me totally forget about the two brothers.... I viewed them now as my past.

My two roommates, Emmanuella and Queen were just like me.. Only kids, and had father problems... We were like sisters..

We cooked and fed together, and the trust was there too..

I made new close friends in school... Gift was actually my best in all my departmental girls.... She would'nt do something she didnt want to do even if everyone was doing it... *she's the girl after my own heart*

I also had a very tough lecturer... Mrs. Efekalam...... That woman is the bomb...

No much makeup, no coloured weaves, no artificial nails, and the rest... But after everything sha, she can teach.... I mean who wouldnt understand anything in her class??

On a fateful evening, some guys were playing ball in my logde, i was boiling water for custard when i went outside to the veranda, I looked down only to see four army men walking into m y logde with weapons in sight.

I ran back into the room to tell my roommates..

"hmmm babes, army people de come o" i said and no one acted like they heard me..

"shey una no de hear me ; military dae downstairs" i shouted..

That was when they left everything to look at me.

"babe wetin you talk?" Ella asked.

They Army guys were upstairs already..

"everybody should go downstairs immediately!!" one army guy shouted.

"na wetin i de talk be that.." i answered as we all proceeded downstairs.

The logde is just a storey so it was easy to get downstairs in all the tension.

As i was going downstairs, I looked at my two roommates, one was on jean and top, while Ella was on long sleeved shirt and jean.

My mind reverted back to the day army men flogged some girls in the logde around my logde.

So if these people wan flog pesin now na my own go pain pain pass because na bum short and singlet na im i wear.

We got downstairs and saw some guys lying down, no one even told me to lie down, i just went to where those guys were and lay face down.

* the fear of army is the beginning of wisdom*

They hit all the guys harldly at the back before they told we girls to standup and go and sit down.

When we sat down, they started questioning us..

"where dose guys wey enta here de?" the first guy asked.

No one answered.

The thing is that, me, I saw the guys when they came in but omo when they left I no see anybody.. But dem no born me well na mk I open mouth de tell army say i see them so I just closed my mouth.

"shey una no wan ansa baa" another one asked.

"please sir, we didnt see them.. " i heard one girl answer.

*who be dis one kwan wey de folo army people wey de vex speak english? Nothing wey pesin nor go see 4 dis place*

"you no see dem shey.. I go pluck una eye comot..." he shouted.

Immediately, they went back to the guys who were still lying down, and started drills.

They told them to kneel down but with their heads on the ground, when they did that, they started matching them on the back one by one.

By the look of it, I knew they guys were going through alot of pain and at that moment I felt for them, but I couldnt do nothing.

When they were done, they left in anger saying they would be back again.

Omo Immediately they turned their backs, i flew up to my room thanking God.

Just before I got to my room, I sw a guy sneaking out of my room, then it dawned on me, we left our door open during the chaos so he sneaked into our room to protect himself.

Another thing that dawned on me was the realization that he was a cultist and it wasnt the same cult with my kush neighbours.

Alma: Yes sir(she replied while shivering and sweating)

Me: Oya dey go, natty Alma
