*HIJRAH*

*Hijrah* هِجْرَة basically means *Migration for the sake of Allah*

It has 2 big meanings in Islam:

✅*1. The Hijrah of the Prophet ﷺ — Year 1 AH*
*What happened*: In 622 CE, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and ∼70 Muslims left Mecca and migrated to Yathrib, which became _*Madinat un-Nabiyy — Medina, “City of the Prophet”*

*Why*: The Muslims faced 13 years of torture, boycott and threats in Mecca. The Quraysh plotted to kill the Prophet ﷺ. Allah gave permission to migrate: Qur’an 16:41 _“And those who emigrated for Allah after they were wronged – We will surely settle them in this world in a good place”_.

*Key events of the journey*:
1. *Planning*: Prophet ﷺ + Abu Bakr secretly left on night of 27 Safar, hid 3 days in Cave Thawr to escape pursuit.
2. *Suraqa story*: The Quraysh sent Suraqa bin Malik to capture them. His horse sank in sand each time he got close — he realized they were protected and turned back.
3. *Arrival*: Reached Quba outskirts of Medina on 12 Rabi’ al-Awwal, Monday. Built Quba Mosque — first mosque in Islam.
4. *Entered Medina*: Friday, 16 Rabi’ al-Awwal. People lined streets shouting _“Allahu Akbar”_. Prophet ﷺ built Masjid an-Nabawi.

*Why it matters*: Hijrah wasn’t just about moving from Mecca to Madinah cities. It was moving from persecution to State-building. In Medina, The Muslims went from a small group to establishing justice, constitution of Medina and an ummah. That’s why Islamic calendar starts from Hijrah, not birth of the Prophet ﷺ.

✅*2. The Islamic Concept of Hijrah*
Beyond that one event, *Hijrah means “to abandon what Allah forbids.”*

*3 Types of Hijrah*:
1. *Hijrah al-Makan* – *Physical migration*: Leaving a place where you can’t practice Islam freely to a place where you can. Prophet ﷺ said _“There is no hijrah after the conquest, but jihad and intention remain”_ after Mecca became Muslim. Today, scholars debate if it applies to Muslims in non-Muslim lands.

2. *Hijrah al-Ma’siyah* – *Migration from sin*: _“The Muhajir is one who abandons what Allah prohibited”_ - Bukhari. Leaving bad habits, bad company, haram income.

3. *Hijrah al-Qalb* – *Migration of the heart*: Moving from loving dunya to loving Allah. From heedlessness to remembrance.

Qur’an 2:218 _“Indeed, those who have believed and emigrated and strove in the cause of Allah – those expect the mercy of Allah.”_

*Lessons*:
1. *Sacrifice for deen*: Left homes, wealth, families in Mecca. Nothing was easy.
2. *Trust + Planning*: Prophet ﷺ made hijrah plans for days, hired, guide, left Ali in his bed. _“Tie your camel, then trust Allah”_.
3. *Brotherhood*: Ansar of Medina shared homes + wealth with Muhajirun. *Allah called it _ithar_ — preferring others over yourself.*
4. *New beginnings*: *Hijrah = Reset button*. Even if your past was Mecca, your Medina is possible.

*Quick Facts*
- *Islamic New Year 1448*
*Muharram 1* marks the start of Hijrah year, not the actual migration date.

- *1448 AH* starts *June 16, 2026 insha Allah*.

- *Hijri calendar*: Lunar, has 354 days. That’s why Ramadan/ Hajj moves ∼11 days earlier each year in comparison to the Gregorian Calendar.

Hijrah teaches us: Sometimes Allah’s doors only opens when you’re willing to leave what’s familiar, to change Ethically and Progressively

We Pray Allah to Continue to Guard and Guide us Aright Protect us Have Mercy on us Increase us in Knowledge Piety and Sustenance and Enable us become Better MUSLIMS Better NIGERIANS.

Assalaam Alaekum Wa Rrahmatullah Wa Barakatuh

*Lessons from HAJJ 2026*

Hajj 2026 took place May 25-30, 2026[Dhul Hijjah 8-13, 1447] with over 1.7 million pilgrims from 165 countries. Despite the heat and regional war tensions, Pilgrims completed the rites.

Here are the key spiritual and practical lessons that stood out this year:
*1. Resilience of Faith Amid Hardship*
Despite US-Israeli strikes on Iran and Gulf infrastructure attacks, millions still gathered. Iran sent 30,000+ pilgrims. Egyptian pilgrim Ahmed Mamdouh said: _“Hajj is truly exhausting, especially in such hot weather... I can’t believe I completed the hajj”_. *Lesson*: True devotion persists when tested. You prepare your body by walking 5-15km daily, but it’s the heart that carries you through.

*2. Equality in Ihram = Unity in Action*
_“A million people dressed in white, standing together, rich and poor, king and worker, all looking exactly the same”_. Men in two white sheets, women in plain modest dress. Hajj 2026 reinforced that status dissolves before Allah. The rituals gave a _“universal spirit of Islam”_ and _“focus, center and orientation”_.

*3. Patience & Good Character Are Trained, Not Assumed*
Hajj is _“a practical field where pilgrims are trained to be tolerant, patient, and restrain their anger”_. Crowds, heat, fatigue at Tawaf, Sa‘y, Jamarat test you. *2026 Lesson*: Pilgrims learned to endure because _“Hajj is performed during a limited number of days”_ and they didn’t want to nullify it. You see generous people spend on the poor, and angry people who remind you what _not_ to become.

*4. Sacrifice Means Giving Up What You Love for Allah*
Day 3 was Yawm an-Nahr, Eid al-Adha - the sacrifice commemorating Ibrahim’s willingness to give up his son. Hajj teaches _“piety is the aim”_ and that _“love for Allah... is only achieved when one prefers what Allah wills to what he personally wills”_. Ibrahim’s story came alive at the Jamarat stoning ritual.

*5. Preparation Is Spiritual + Practical*
1. *Body*: Walk daily, hydrate, check meds. Hajj isn’t for athletes but _“being kind to your own body so you can focus on your soul”_.
2. *Rights*: _“Settle your debts. Return people’s rights. Apologise where you need to”_ before going.
3. *Intention*: Ihram isn’t just clothing - it’s _“a mood, a mindset, a promise... I will not argue. I will not shout”_.
4. *Safety*: Crowds are the real danger. Have meeting points, ID, charged phone. NAHCON emphasized medical fitness and digital Nusuk cards for 2026.

*6. Brotherhood Transcends Borders*
Pilgrims _“have one Qiblah and one Lord... same feelings, clothing, rites”_. Despite war, 165 nations gathered. Hajj _“serves as a unifying event for Muslims, transcending borders and social status”_. A 74-year-old Algerian said completing Hajj with his wife after 50 years of marriage fulfilled their dream.

*7. Life Is the Real Hajj*
Scholars remind us Hajj teaches _“movement, action and sacrifice”_. The order matters: Ihram → Mina → Arafat → Muzdalifah → Jamarat → Tawaf. _“Hajj begins long before the 8th of Dhul Hijjah”_. The discipline of Arafat, patience in Mina/Muzdalifah, and returning _“like the day your mother gave birth to you”_ should continue after you leave Mecca.

*8. Modern Challenges Need Modern Solutions*
Hajj 2026 used Nusuk digital smart cards, digital flight tracking, and real-time crowd monitoring. NAHCON mandated 72-hr pre-arrival data and group-of-45 travel. *Lesson*: Technology serves the sacred when used for transparency and safety.

*Final Takeaway*: Hajj strips away distractions. No designer labels, no status. Just you, your sins and Allah. As one reminder put it: _“It is about standing before Allah... with humility, asking Him to forgive you”_

We Pray Allah to Continue to Guard and Guide us Aright Protect us Have Mercy on us Increase us in Knowledge Sustenance and Piety and Enable us become Better MUSLIMS Better NIGERIANS.

IslamLessons From Eidul Adha by ALMUSTAQIM(op): 12:52pm On May 29
Assalaam Alaekum Wa Rrahmatullah Wa Barakatuh

*LESSONS FROM EIDUL ADHA*

*Lessons from Eidul Adha* go way deeper than just sacrifice and food. The whole story of Prophet Ibrahim(ASW) is basically a masterclass in Faith and Integrity in Character.

Here are the 5 core lessons:

1. *Surrender & Trust in Allah*
Ibrahim was asked to sacrifice his son - his most precious thing. The lesson: Put Allah’s command above your emotions, plans, and attachments.
_Application_: We all have “Ismails” - a job, dream, relationship, ego. Eid asks: Can you surrender it if Allah asks?

2. *Obedience Before Understanding*
Ibrahim didn’t debate or delay. He said “Yes” first. Allah tested him, then replaced the sacrifice with a ram.
_Lesson_: Sometimes Allah’s wisdom isn’t clear until you obey. Obedience opens the door to mercy.

Surah As-Saffat 37:102-103*
_“And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, ‘O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I sacrifice you, so see what you think.’ He said, ‘O my father, do what you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the Steadfast"

3. *True Sacrifice is Internal, Not Just Animals*
Qur’an 22:37 says: _“It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but your piety reaches Him”_.
The goat/cow is symbolic. The real qurbani is cutting off greed, anger, bad habits, and selfishness. That’s the sacrifice Allah wants.

4. *Generosity & Caring for Others*
The meat is divided in 3: family, friends, and the poor. No one eats alone on Eid.
_Lesson_: Joy is multiplied when shared. Eid forces you to remember people struggling around you. Gratitude + empathy.

5. *Family & Legacy*
Ibrahim + Ismail built the Kaaba together. The test strengthened their father-son bond.
_Lesson_: Teach your kids submission to Allah early. Legacy isn’t wealth - it’s values passed down.

*Bottom line*: Eidul Adha is an annual reset button. Let us imbibe the lessons and becomes better Muslims.

We Pray Allah to Continue to Guard and Guide us Aright Protect us Have Mercy on us Increase us in Knowledge Sustenance and Piety and Enable us become Better MUSLIMS Better NIGERIANS.

*EIDUL ADHA*
*(ILEYA)*

*Eidul Adha* - also called _Eid al-Adha_, _Festival of Sacrifice_, or Eidul Kabir_Big Eid_or Ileya - is one of the two main Islamic holidays.

*What it commemorates*
It honors Prophet Ibrahim’s [Abraham’s] willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail in obedience to Allah. When Ibrahim was ready, Allah replaced Ismail with a ram. The story is in Qur’an 37:102-107.[Suratul Saaffat]

*When it happens*
On the *10th day of Dhul Hijjah*, the last month of the Islamic calendar. it follows *Arafah Day* on the 9th Dhul Hijjah, when pilgrims stand at Mount Arafat during Hajj.

*2026 dates*:
- Arafah Day: Tuesday May 26, 2026

4. *Giving charity & visiting family*: Emphasis on sharing food and connecting with people. It's always Yummy Yummy, Meaty Meaty.

*How it differs from Eidul Fitr*
- *Eidul Fitr*: Marks the end of Ramadan fasting. It’s about gratitude and breaking the Month-Long fast.

- *Eidul Adha*: Marks the end of Hajj. It’s about sacrifice, obedience and charity.

It’s a 3-4 day holiday in most Muslim countries, with the first day being the main Eid day.

Assalaam Alaekum Wa Rrahmatullah Wa Barakatuh

*ARAFAT*

*Arafat* usually refers to 2 things in Islam:

*1. Mount Arafat / Plain of Arafat*
A hill and surrounding plain about 20km east of Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
It’s the site where Prophet Muhammad ﷺ gave his Farewell Sermon in 632 CE.
For Hajj, standing at Arafat on 9th Dhul Hijjah is _the_ central Hajj rite. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Hajj is Arafah”. If you miss it, your Hajj isn’t valid.[Tirmidhi]

*2. Day of Arafah / Yawm Arafah*
The 9th day of Dhul Hijjah. It’s the most important day of the Islamic year outside Ramadan.

*Why it matters:*
1. *Peak of Hajj*: Pilgrims stand from noon to sunset at Arafat, making dua, repenting, and remembering Allah. This “standing” is the main act of Hajj.
2. *Massive forgiveness*: For non-pilgrims, fasting on this day expiates sins of the previous year and the coming year.
3. *Allah’s mercy*: It’s the day Allah completes His religion and frees the most people from Hellfire. The Prophet ﷺ said there’s no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of Arafah.
4. *Best day for dua*: “The best dua is the dua on the Day of Arafah”.[Tirmidhi]

*What to do if you’re not on Hajj*
- *Fast*: Sunnah for non-pilgrims. It’s not required, but highly rewarded.
- *Make dua*: The whole day is prime time for supplication.
- *Dhikr*: Especially say _“La ilaha illa Allah, wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulk wa lahul hamd, wa huwa ala kulli shay’in qadeer”_.
- *Repent*: Seek forgiveness sincerely.

*2026 date*: 9th Dhul Hijjah 1447 falls on May 26, 2026, depending on moon sighting.

We Pray Allah to Continue to Guard and Guide us Aright Protect us Have Mercy on us Increase us in Knowledge Sustenance and Piety and Enable us become Better MUSLIMS Better NIGERIANS.

IslamThe First 10 Days Of Dhul Hijjah by ALMUSTAQIM(op): 10:54am On May 08
Assalaam Alaekum Wa Rrahmatullah Wa Barakatuh

*THE FIRST 10 DAYS OF DHUL HIJJAH*

The *first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah* are considered the most sacred days of the year in Islam, even more beloved to Allah than the last 10 days of Ramadan except for _Laylatul Qadr_.

*1. Qur’an Reference*
Allah swears by them in the Qur’an:
_“By the dawn and by the ten nights”_ [Qur’an 89:1-2].
Scholars like Ibn Kathir and Ibn Abbas agree the “ten nights” refer to the first 10 nights of Dhul Hijjah.

*2. Why They’re Special*
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
_“There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.”_
The companions asked, “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?” He replied, _“Not even jihad, except for a man who goes out with himself and his wealth and does not return with anything.”_[Bukhari]

So regular good deeds in these 10 days outweigh almost everything else.

*3. Key Events That Happen During Them*
- *Day 8 – Yawm al-Tarwiyah*: Pilgrims head to Mina
- *Day 9 – Yawm Arafah*: The peak of Hajj. This is the day Allah completes His religion and when sins are forgiven for those who stand at Arafah. For non-pilgrims, fasting on this day expiates 2 years of sins — the previous and coming year.
- *Day 10 – Eid al-Adha*: The Day of Sacrifice, marking Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience when he was ready to sacrifice his son Ismail.[Sahih Muslim]

*4. Recommended Actions*

*For Everyone:*
1. *Dhikr* – Especially _Takbeer_: _Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illa Allah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa lillahil hamd_. Recite it openly from 1st Dhul Hijjah until Asr on 13th.
2. *Fasting* – Fasting the first 9 days is highly recommended. The Prophet ﷺ used to fast them [Abu Dawud]. If you can’t do all 9, at least fast on Arafah Day.
3. *Prayer* – Observe obligatory prayers and add voluntary _nafl_ prayers, especially Tahajjud.
4. *Qur’an* – Recite more, reflect more.
5. *Charity* – Give sadaqah. Even small acts carry huge weight now.
6. *Repentance _Tawbah*_ – It’s a prime time to turn back to Allah and seek forgiveness.

*For Those Performing Hajj:*
This is the main window for all Hajj activities.

*For Those Not Performing Hajj:*
- *Qurbani/Udhiyah* – On 10th Dhul Hijjah, those who can afford it sacrifice an animal, following Ibrahim’s sunnah. From 1st Dhul Hijjah until you slaughter, avoid cutting hair or nails if you intend to do Qurbani.

*5. Spiritual Significance*
- *Combination of worship*: These days bring together the 5 pillars – prayer, fasting, charity, Hajj, and testimony of faith.
- *A second chance*: If you missed Ramadan, these 10 days are your second shot at spiritual renewal.
- *Divine mercy*: Allah’s mercy and forgiveness are especially abundant.

*Bottom line*: Think of Ramadan as a marathon and the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah as a 10-day sprint. The doors of Good Deeds are wide open, and the rewards are multiplied.

Monday 18th May, 2026 is expected to be 1st of Dhul Hijjah, 1447. . . So Let's get prepared to maximise rewards.

We Pray Allah to Continue to Guard and Guide us Aright Protect us Have Mercy on us Increase us in Knowledge Sustenance and Piety and Enable us become Better MUSLIMS Better NIGERIANS.

Happy Jumaat, Happy Weekend.
PoliticsThe NDC Deadline Problem by ALMUSTAQIM(op): 7:27pm On May 06
The NDC's Deadline Problem.

A Full Breakdown:

The NDC (Nigeria Democratic Congress) was only registered on February 5, 2026, via a court order, not because it met all INEC's requirements.

INEC Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan confirmed that the Federal High Court in Lokoja ordered the commission to register NDC, and the commission simply complied with that order. (The Guardian Nigeria).

That's the starting point of their trouble.

Here are the key deadlines they're up against:

1. Party Primaries Window
INEC has informed parties that they are free to fix the dates of their primaries within the approved period of April 23, 2026, to May 30, 2026. (ThisDayLive)

That's a tight window, and NDC was barely registered when it opened.
2. Membership Register Submission.
The Big One
Under Section 77 of the Electoral Act 2026, every political party must maintain a digital membership register and submit it to INEC at least 21 days before any primary, congress, or convention.

Only individuals whose names appear in this pre-submitted register are eligible to vote or contest as candidates. (National Network)

The final deadline for submission of political parties' registers of members has been extended to May 10, 2026. (ThisDayLive) Miss that, and you can't field any candidate in 2027.

The register must contain, for each member: name, sex, date of birth, address, state, local government, ward, polling unit, National Identification Number (NIN), and photograph, in both hard and soft copy. (Technext) Building that digitally from scratch — as a brand new party — in a few months is a mammoth task.

3. No Congresses = No Convention = No Primaries=

You can't hold a national convention without first conducting state-level congresses. NDC was registered in February 2026.

The party announced it had submitted notices for upcoming congresses and national convention (Legal Nigeria) , but submitting a notice is not the same as completing those processes. State congresses across 36 states + FCT, then a national convention — all requiring 21 days' advance notice to INEC each time - is logistically nearly impossible to complete before the May 30, 2026 primaries deadline

4. The 21-Day Notice Rule
A party that fails to submit the membership register within the stipulated time will not be allowed to field candidates for that election. (TheCable) There's no grace period or waiver — the law is clear.

The Core Problem in Summary
NDC is a brand-new party registered via court order in February 2026. To participate in the 2027 elections, it must:

Conduct ward congresses → state congresses → national convention (each with 21-day INEC notice)
Build a full digital NIN-linked membership register
Submit that register to INEC by May 10, 2026

Conduct primaries before May 30, 2026
That's essentially 4 months to build a nationwide party structure from the ground up and satisfy some of the most stringent electoral compliance requirements Nigeria has ever introduced. As you rightly pointed out — it's an extremely steep hill to climb, and the clock has nearly run out.
IslamWork And Labour Ethics by ALMUSTAQIM(op): 11:20am On May 01
Assalaam Alaekum Wa Rrahmatullah Wa Barakatuh

*Work and Labour Ethics*

In Islam, work isn’t just about earning money. It’s considered an act of worship _ibadah_ when done with the right intention and ethics. The Qur’an and Sunnah set out clear principles for both workers and employers.

*1. Core Principles*

- *Dignity of Labour*: All lawful work is honored. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “No one eats better food than that which he eats out of the work of his own hand.” He himself was a shepherd and merchant.
- *Work as Worship*: Earning a halal livelihood to support yourself and family is rewarded by Allah. Qur’an 62:10 – “Disperse through the land and seek the bounty of Allah.”
- *Trust _Amanah_ and Excellence _Ihsan*_: Do your job honestly and to the best of your ability. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Allah loves that when any of you does a job, he does it with perfection.”
- *Prohibition of Begging*: Islam discourages asking from others when one is able to work. “The upper hand is better than the lower hand.”

*2. Duties of the Worker*
- *Honesty*: No cheating, fraud, or hiding defects. “He who cheats is not one of us.” Hadith
- *Fulfill contracts*: Complete the agreed work. Qur’an 5:1 – “O you who believe, fulfill contracts.”
- *Punctuality & diligence*: Don’t waste time or do sloppy work. Taking pay for work not done is haram.
- *No forbidden work*: Avoid jobs involving alcohol, riba _interest_, gambling, pork, or anything harmful.
- *Balance*: Work hard, but also fulfill duties to Allah, family, and health. No overworking to the point of neglect.

*3. Duties of the Employer*
- *Pay wages promptly*: The Prophet ﷺ said, “Give the worker his wages before his sweat dries.” Ibn Majah
- *Fair wages*: Pay what is just for the work, without exploitation. Don’t take advantage of desperation.
- *Kind treatment*: No harshness, humiliation, or overburdening. Workers should get rest, prayer breaks, and safe conditions.
- *Clear agreements*: Job terms, pay, and duties should be clear from the start to avoid disputes.
- *No discrimination*: Judge by competence and character, not race, tribe, or status. Bilal, a former slave, was honored as a close companion.

*4. Business & Trade Ethics*
- *No riba, gharar _excessive uncertainty_, or fraud*
- *Truthful marketing*: Disclose defects. The Prophet ﷺ said the buyer and seller have the option to cancel if there’s deceit.
- *Weights & measures*: Qur’an 83:1-3 condemns those who give less than due.
- *Monopolies/hoarding*: Withholding goods to drive up prices is forbidden.

*5. Social Aspects*
- *Zakat & charity*: Wealth earned must be purified through zakat and spent responsibly.
- *Brotherhood*: Employer and employee are brothers. “Your employees are your brothers whom Allah has placed under you.”
- *Unions/collective bargaining*: Allowed as long as they seek justice and don’t use violence or harm others.

*Bottom line*: Islamic work ethic ties your paycheck to your hereafter. The goal is _halal rizq_ – lawful provision – earned through honest effort, fair dealing, and respect for others.

We Pray Allah to Continue to Guard and Guide us Aright Protect us Have Mercy on us Increase us in Knowledge Sustenance and Piety and Enable us become Better MUSLIMS Better NIGERIANS.

Happy Jumaat, Happy Workers Day

IslamImportant Actions On Solaat by ALMUSTAQIM(op): 12:43pm On Apr 24
Assalaam Alaekum Wa Rrahmatullah Wa Barakatuh

*ACTIONS NOT TO BE NEGLECTED DURING THE FIVE DAILY SOLAAT AND NAWAAFIL*

There are actions highly recommended that should not be neglected in our 5 Daily Solaat and Nawafil.

✓ *WHERE TO LOOK WHILE IN STANDING POSITION DURING SOLAAT*
You should look at the place/point of your
prostration (sujūd) on the ground. It was reported that
the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to keep his gaze towards the place of his prostration while praying.[Sunan
al-Bayhaqī Al-
Hākim]

The Holy Prophet Muhammad said:
“What is wrong with people who raise their eyes to the sky during prayer? They must stop that or their eyesight will be taken away.” — [Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim]

According to the Holy Quran:
“Successful indeed are the believers, those who are humble in their prayers.”(Q23:1&2)

Lowering the gaze helps achieve khushū‘ (humility and concentration in prayer). It is
recommended (mustaḥabb) to keep the gaze towards the place of sujūd during prayer - Imam Nawaawi.

Ibn Taymiyyah also
explained that this
helps in preventing distraction and it increases humility in our prayers.

✓ *WHERE TO LOOK IN RUKUU/BOWING AND SUJUUD/PROSTRATION DURING SOLAAT*

* In Rukuu (bowing):

Imam An-Nawawi said:
The Sunnah is that one keeps his
gaze towards the place of prostration in all parts of the prayer."He should look towards the place of prostration in rukū‘ as well."[Ibn Qudamah].

* In Sujūd (Prostration)

One should look at the ground, towards the nose area or spot targeted for the prostration on the ground since your
face is already on the ground, your eyes naturally
face downward. Avoid closing the
eyes unless necessary (some scholars disliked it without reason).

Note that Sujūd is the peak of humility.

✓ *WHERE TO LOOK WHILE PERFORMING TASHAHHUD IN SITTING POSITION DURING SOLAAT*

You are to look at your index finger (the finger of tashahhud).

The Holy Prophet Muhammad would point with his index finger and keep his gaze fixed on it while making du‘ā’.

In another narration:
The Prophet ﷺ:
“...would not let his gaze go beyond his pointing finger.”

It prevents distraction and increases focus during du‘ā’.

It also reinforces Tawḥīd (Oneness of Allah) symbolized by the finger.

In Conclusion: The importance
of attentiveness and God-consciousness (khushū‘) in Ṣalāh cannot be overemphasized. Observing these acts greatly enhances our focus and mindfulness in every aspect of worship—whether Farḍ, Sunnah or Mustaḥab—thereby helping us attain optimal reward.

Distractions such as looking around or fidgeting should be strictly avoided in both Fardu (Obligatory) prayers and Nawāfil (Non-Obligatory) prayers so that we may achieve the true purpose of worshipping Allāh.

We Pray Allah to Continue to Guard and Guide us Aright Protect us Have Mercy on us Increase us in Knowledge Sustenance and Piety and Enable us become Better MUSLIMS Better NIGERIANS.

*HAJJ*

Hajj is the significant Pillar of Pilgrimage in Islam, where Muslims travel to the Holy City of Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia to perform Islamic rites and celebrate their faith. It's a once-in-a-lifetime obligation for Muslims who are Physically and Financially able although a Muslim can perform Hajj more than once.

Hajj is a time for spiritual reflection, Prayers and Celebration culminating in the Eid-ul Adha (Slaughtering of Rams or other animals of Sacrifice) among the global Muslim community.

The Hajj takes place during the Islamic month of Dhul-Hijjah and involves various rites, such as:

1. *Ihram*: A state of spiritual purity.
2. *Tawaf*: Circling or Circumbulating the Kaaba.
3. *Sa'i*: Running between the two hills of Safa and Marwa
4. *Arafah*: Standing on the plain of Arafah.

Hajj holds significant spiritual and symbolic meaning for Muslims, including:

1. *Unity and equality*: Hajj brings Muslims from diverse backgrounds together, emphasizing unity and equality.

2. *Spiritual cleansing*: The pilgrimage is seen as an opportunity for spiritual reflection, forgiveness and renewal.

3. *Commemoration*: Hajj commemorates important events in Islamic history, such as the trials of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his family.

4. *Devotion and sacrifice*: The rituals and acts of worship during Hajj demonstrate devotion to God and willingness to sacrifice worldly desires.

5. *Renewal and rejuvenation*: Hajj can be a transformative experience allowing pilgrims to return home with renewed faith and purpose.

The significance of Hajj is deeply rooted in Islamic tradition and history, making it a profound experience for Muslims worldwide.

Preparations and Processes for Hajj 2026 is in top gear as the Airlift of Pilgrims is soon to begin from various countries around the world.

We Pray Allah to continue to guard and guide us Aright, Protect us, Have Mercy on us, Increase us in Knowledge, Provisions and Piety and Enable us become better MUSLIMS, better NIGERIANS.

IslamA Muslim's Six Rights On A Fellow Muslim by ALMUSTAQIM(op): 9:58am On Apr 03
*Assalaam Alaekum Wa Rrahmatullah Wa Barakatuh*

*A MUSLIM'S SIX RIGHTS ON A FELLOW MUSLIM*

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "The Muslim has six rights:
*(1)* When you meet him, you should greet him.
*(2)* When he invites you, you should accept his invitation.
*(3)* When he asks you for counsel, you should counsel him.
*(4)* When he sneezes and praises Allah, you should bless him.
*(5)* When he is ill, you should visit him and
*(6)* When he dies, you should follow his funeral procession. *[Sahih Muslim]*

How many of these do you consider another Muslim's right upon you? Please, ask yourself:

*(1)* Do you greet other Muslims whenever you come across them, whether you know them or not?

*(2)* Do you accept invitations from Muslims or do you reject the invitations of those you consider “beneath” you? To view yourself as superior because of what Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) has bestowed upon you is an act of arrogance, one of the major sins in Islam.

To keep away from events where Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) is disobeyed is commendable and a Muslim should not participate in disobedience to Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) because of having been “invited” by another.

*(3)* Do you give sincere advice when asked, putting yourself in your Muslim brother/sister’s shoes? If not, this is a betrayal of trust and a form of lying.

*(4)* When a Muslim sneezes and says 'Alhamdulillah' do you say 'Yarhamakullah'?

*(5)* Do you visit or at least call, when you hear of a Muslim's illness?

*(6)* Do you take time out to join the funeral of a Muslim when he/she dies?

These are required of you. This means that doing these earns sawaab/hasanaat for you, while neglecting them accrues sins for you.

We Pray Allah to continue to guard and guide us Aright, Protect us, Have Mercy on us, Increase us in Knowledge, Provisions and Piety and Enable us become better MUSLIMS, better NIGERIANS.

Assalaam Alaekum Wa Rrahmatullah Wa Barakatuh

*SITTA SHAWWAL*

Sitta Shawwal refers to the six days of voluntary fasting in the Islamic month of Shawwal, which starts after Eid al-Fitr. Fasting these six days is considered Sunnah Mustahabbah, meaning it's a recommended but not obligatory practice.

The significance of Sitta Shawwal lies in its potential to earn a reward equivalent to fasting the entire year. As reported in a hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever fasts Ramadan and follows it with six days of Shawwal, it will be as if he fasted for a whole year"

Here are some key points to keep in mind:

- *When to start*: You can start fasting six days of Shawwal from the second day of Shawwal, as it's prohibited to fast on the day of Eid.
- *Consecutive or Separate days*: You can fast these six days consecutively or separately throughout the month of Shawwal.
- *Making up missed fasts*: If you have missed fasts from Ramadan, it's recommended to make them up first before fasting the six days of Shawwal.
- *Reward*: Fasting the six days of Shawwal can make up for any shortcomings in your obligatory Ramadan fasts.

We Pray Allah to continue to guard and guide us aright, Protect us, Have Mercy on us. Increase us in Knowledge Provisions and Sustenance and Enable us become better MUSLIMS, better NIGERIANS.

Happy Jumaat, Happy Weekend.

*Eid-ul Fitr*

Eid-ul fitr is celebrated at the end of 29 or 30 days of the Ramadan fast.

The Messenger of Allah (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is reported to have said: "Begin the fast (of Ramadan) on sighting the crescent of Ramadan and end it on sighting the crescent of Shawwal."

Hence, Eid-ul fitr cannot be celebrated *until* the crescent of Shawwal is confirmed sighted OR Ramadan counted to 30 days..

The following are some of the Basic things to observe for the Eid:

1. No fasting on Eid day.
2. Ensure giving the Zakatul Fitri from about 3 days to Eid till *before* going for Eid salat.
3. Go to Eid praying ground with very neat dress (not necessarily new one). Men should endeavour to use perfume. Perfume is HIGHLY DISCOURAGED for women.
4. All Muslim members of the household should attend the Eid prayer. Women who are "off Salat" are not to perform the 2-rakat Eid salat but should participate in Azkhar and listen to the Eid khutbah.
5. Chant the praises of Allah on your way to and from Eid prayer.
6. No observance of any Nafila (optional) salat before the Eid salat.
7. Return from the praying ground through a different route if convenient.
8. Celebrate (eat and drink) moderately, having the less-privileged in mind.
9. Use of anything haram (like alcohol) is totally forbidden as it is forbidden at all other times and occasions.
10. Send greetings to family and friends.

May Allah count us with those who will see the end of this year's Ramadan; may He give us good Provisions to celebrate the eid-il fitr; and may this Ramadan not be the last one for us.

*ACKNOWLEDGING THE UNIQUE SERVICES OF THE FASTING MUSLIM WOMEN*

May Allah reward every Mother, Wife on our behalf -

And every Sister and Daughter with the best reward from Himself.

They are the banners who rose throughout our month of fasting (Ramadan) -

With a load that diversifies with a powerful band. They are Multi-tasking.

They spend the whole month of Ramadan, mostly at home serving others -

Wanting us to fast with every comfort.

They cook at midnight while the people are asleep -

They also cook in the afternoon until the evening.

Their chief desire was to see the husband(s) and the parents;-

Deriving maximum enjoyment in cooking after cooking during and after fasting.

They added more virtues with the virtue of fasting as well -

And more reward for the good deeds they did.

How much does one who feeds the fasting Muslims earn more as rewards for fasting?

What of if she fasts while serving others?

May the Lord of the Throne reward them (The fasting Muslim women) for us, so immensely -

And may He admit them in the best Paradise, Al-Firdaws.

My candid advice to the righteous men is "Be kind , Remain kind:-

To them, hence the Holy Qur'an stipulates this onerous injunction.

With ten favours and honours to the righteous persons -

There is no good in rewarding someone with ungratefulness.

O men! Kindly acknowledge that the Muslim women are more favoured than you -

If they are absent for just one day, you would live through the evil of a difficult life.

But, if you believe not my explanation so far,-

kindly live in a bachelors estate in a state of exile.

*STILL ON ZAKATUL FITR*

(Questions and Answers)

✓ Is Zakātul Fitr compulsory?

Majority of the Scholars opine that it is compulsory.

✓ Upon whom is Zakātul Fitr compulsory?

It is compulsory upon a matured male or female Muslim.

✓ Who are those whom Zakātul Fitr should be paid on?

Zakatul Fitr is to be paid on yourself, family and dependants

✓ Can I borrow money to pay Zakātul Fitr?

Don't do so except if you have the assured means to pay back.

It is best to pay Zakātul Fitr when you are financially capable to do so.

Some of the Scholars have stipulated financial capability from the conditions that qualifies a person to pay Zakātul Fitr.

✓ What's the measure for Zakātul Fitr?

Four (4) Mudds - One person.

A man with his wife will be 8 Mudds.

A man with his two wives and 10kids will be 52 Mudds.

Or

12 tins of milk for One person.

24 tins of milk for Two persons.

And so on.

✓ Whom should the Zakātul Fitr be given to?

It should be given to the poor and needy.

✓ Can I share my Zakātul Fitr amongst two, three or more needy?

Yes, you can do so after you must have collated all the Zakātul Fitr together.

✓ Is it compulsory that I take the Zakātul Fitr to the Masjid?

It is not compulsory except you don't know of any needy or poor Muslim to give the food to.

✓ Can I give Zakātul Fitr to a Non-Muslim?

It's best to give preference to needy Muslims. However, a needy and poor Non-Muslim may also be given to show the individual the beauty of Islām.

✓ Can I add to the measure of the Zakātul Fitr after observing the legislated measurement?

Yes, you can.

In fact, you can add cooking items and flavours like pepper, salt, curry, thyme etc. These additions are not compulsory. They will however be rewarded based on showing goodness.

You may add money too as a form of extending goodness to the needy or poor one.

✓ Can a person pay Zakātul Fitr on his Non-Muslim wife or Parents?

No, Zakātul Fitr should only be paid on Muslims.

✓ When should I start paying Zakātul Fitr as a child having parents who are alive?

If you have the means to do so, you should start paying on behalf of yourself. Like when you have started working and you have the financial capability to pay Zakātul Fitr, then you should do so.

✓ If my parents are under me, will I pay Zakātul Fitr on them?

If your parents are aged and now under your feeding, then you would be the one to pay their Zakātul Fitr.

✓ If my parents insist on paying their Zakātul Fitr themselves, do I still have to pay on their behalf?

No, only one Zakātul Fitr is compulsory upon an individual at a time.

✓ Can I give my Zakātul Fitr to my mum, father or wife or any of my kids?

No, you can't give Zakātul Fitr to those whom the Sharee'ah has obliged upon you to feed and clothe; and these individuals are your wives, kids and parents. Other relatives are secondary. So, you can give Zakātul Fitr to your poor/needy younger, elder brother, uncle etc since you are not obliged to shoulder their responsibilities.

✓ When should Zakātul Fitr be given to the poor and needy ones?

Some of Scholars said:

Zakātul Fitr should be given out before we proceed to observe Salātul Eid.

Some of the Scholars have opined that it can be two days to Eid, a day to Eid or the morning of the day of Eid before the Eid prayer.

✓ Will my Zakātul Fitr be acceptable if I paid it after I return from Eid?

Majority of the Scholars have opined that it would still be acceptable but as charity and not Zakātul Fitr.

✓ What are the types of food one should use to pay for Zakātul Fitr?

Dates, Grains/major staple foods should be used. Like rice, beans, Garri, etc.

✓ If I desire to give different varieties of foods to a needy/poor one, can I combine different foods?

Yes, you can combine different foods, just ensure that you are paying the Zakātul Fitr in the right legislated measure as explained earlier.

✓ Can I pay Zakātul Fitr with money?

Paying Zakātul Fitr with money without any necessity is an act contrary to the Sharee'ah. It has two anomalies:

1) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) specifically mentioned food. Replacing food with money is therefore clearly against the ruling of Zakātul Fitr.

2) Replacing the payment of Zakātul Fitr with money instead of food is vividly against the wisdom behind the payment of Zakātul Fitr. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Zakātul Fitr is purification for the fasting one (from filthy and forbidden acts committed while fasting) and food for the needy/poor Muslims.

✓ What if a needy/poor one says he or she doesn't want food?

Then, the food should be given to another poor/needy Muslim. The rejection shows the individual is not poor/needy. A true needy/poor individual won't reject food.

✓ What could be the necessity that would make a person pay Zakātul Fitr with money?

If the individual lives in a residence where there is no one to give the Zakātul Fitr; then the person should calculate monetary worth of 4 mudds for a single person and multiply it round his family/dependants.

Thereafter, the individual should send the amount to a trustworthy Sadaqah (charity) foundation who then in turn buy foods and distribute them to the needy Muslims.

✔️However, many scholars allow for the payment of Zakãt al-Fitr in the equivalent value of money, acknowledging that in some circumstances, this can be more practical and beneficial for the recipients.

✓ Can I pay Zakātul Fitr on my husband?

No, you can't pay on him because he is responsible to feed you. He should be the one to pay Zakātul Fitr on you.

You may buy the foods and gift it to your husband if he is not financially capable to pay it. He can then pay Zakātul Fitr on his family from the food you gifted to him.
OR
He can however leave paying Zakātul Fitr till he has the means to do so.

Meanwhile, you should pay on behalf of yourself alone since you have the means to do so.

Your husband will pay on himself and the kids whenever he has the means to do so.

✓ Can one pay Zakātul Fitr on a baby in the womb?

The Scholars have differed on this.

Paying it is however best.

✓ Is it permissible to receive ZAKATUL FITR from two or more givers and then measure your own ZAKATUL FITR out of what you have received and give it out to someone else as ZAKATUL FITR?

1. It is permissible if you have received enough for you and your family.
Sharia allows you to give to others provided you are still within the time frame of giving out Zakatul fitr (i.e. b4 the observation of Eid prayer) because the purpose of it is to make everybody happy & you have the capacity to do that. Allah knows best.

2. It is permissible.
A man came the Prophet (SAW) and told the Prophet (SAW) he has nothing to give out as zakat lftir and the Prophet (SAW) gave him his own zakat lftir and told him to go and use it to pay his own zakat lftir, then he told the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) : I don't have anything to eat if I give this out. Then the Prophet (SAW) told him: use it to pay your zakat lftir and give it to yourself. That is, He pay it as zakat lftir and also pay it to himself.

*RAMADAN KAREEM RAMADAN MUBARAK*
IslamRamadhaan 1447/2026 Day 26: ZAKATUL FITR by ALMUSTAQIM(op): 1:18pm On Mar 15
*Assalaam Alaekum Wa Rrahmatullah Wa Barakatuh*

Ramadhaan 1447/2026 Day 26

*ZAKATUL FITR*

At the end of this Ramadān fast, we Muslims are expected to celebrate the unique opportunity given to us by Allāh to attain spiritual elevation to the rank of _Muttaqūn_ , that is, the rank of those who are always conscious of Allah in whatever they do, while they ensure that they allow it to influence their actions.

The Prophet, _saaws_ , would like to see every Muslim in joyous mood, with enough food to eat during the celebration. He, therefore, instituted _Zakātul fitr_ in Sha'bān of the second year of the Hijrah, making it mandatory for every Muslim who has a _Sā'_ (about 1.2 kg / 1.2 L) of dried dates or barley in excess of his requirements for the day and those of his immediate family, to give it out to another Muslim who may not have enough. In other words, no Muslim should be allowed to be hungry on 'Īdul Fitr day.

( A _Sā_ ' is a measure of volume equivalent to 4 _Muddu_ , which is about 12 tins of Peak or Three Crowns Milk of 140 ml equivalent to one _Kongo_ measure, equivalent to 1.2 L / 1.2 kg).

*Purification from Evil talk and Obscenity*
_Zakātul fitr_ was instituted to serve as purification for the fasting Muslim who might have inadvertently engaged in evil talks or obscenity. It is quite unfortunate that some Muslims do not realise the philosophy behind fasting. They involve in evil talks and unethically acceptable Islamic practices while fasting. They do not allow the fasting to impact positively on their behaviour. They do not imbue the spirit of _taqwa_ , which is the goal of fasting in Ramadān (Q2:183).

The Prophet, _saaws_ , had warned that whoever does not abandon evil talk or any act associated with it, Allah will not have anything to do with his abandonment of his food and drinks (fasting) . Al-Bukhārī narrated it from Abū Hurayrah.

We need, therefore, to realise the purpose of fasting, which is to inculcate _taqwa_ in Muslims. It is only the magnanimity of Allah that can make the fasting of an uncouth Muslim rewardable, rather than the 1.2 kg of grains or its monetary value given to the poor or the needy at the end of Ramadān. Islam is not merely a ritualistic religion, but rather a system of life designed to mould the Muslim's character and make him become refined and polished.

*Who Pays _Zakātul _Fitr_ ?*
It is paid by every Muslim whether rich or poor, male or female, young or old, slave or freeborn. The head of each household pays a _Sā'_ ( Four _Mudd_ , approximately 1.2 kg/ 1.2 L) of any _Zakātul fitr_ item per every Muslim who depends on him for daily sustenance, including his domestic servants. He also pays on behalf of a baby born immediately before sunrise of the day of 'Īd.

*Recipients* .
_Zakātul fitr_ is paid to any Muslim who does not have one _Sā'_ of food in excess of his need. This Zakāt is obviously meant for the poor and the needy. It is not meant for all the eight categories of recipients of Zakāt of Wealth mentioned in Q9:60. It is not primarily meant for the Imām who leads during _Tarāwih_ prayer as the practice in some places. The Imām may be given if he does not have a _Sā'_ of food in excess of his need. He may however serve as a collector on behalf of the poor in his mosque. He must however ensure that they receive it before 'Īd prayer, because of the directives of the Prophet, _saaws_ that it must be given to the recipients before 'Īd prayer or else it will be regarded as just another form of Sadaqah, which may not attract a great reward as _Zakātul fitr_ .

This Zakāt may be paid two or three or more days before 'Īd as the practice of the Sahāba, but not longer than that, if it will serve its purpose. That is also the view of Hanbalī, may be wheat, corn, millet, rice or _gari_. etc

Opinions however differ on the use of money as a mode of payment of _ _Zakātul_ _Fitr_ _ Many scholars insist on kind rather than cash on the basis that the Prophet, _saaws__ , did not pay cash. The scholars include Mālik, Shāfī', Hanbalī, Ibn Bāz and Ibn al-Uthaymeen. Those who endorse its payment by cash include Abū Hanīfah, Ishaq Ibn Rahwiya, Abu al-Thawr, Hasan al-Basrī, 'Umar b. 'Abdul 'Azīz who enforced it during his _Khilāfah_ (717 -720 CE), Ibn Taymīyyah and Qardāwī. They all considered the need and the interest of the recipients before taking this decision.

If we too consider that the recipient may need money to turn the raw food items such as rice, millet or _gari_ into real food and buy other ingredients including meat or fish to prepare soup, we will not hesitate to go with those who endorse money for its payment. We need to be realistic. How many people consume grains alone today without adding other food items? Nobody eats maize or millet or rice alone without soup, fish or meat. Furthermore, if everyone gives raw food items, the recipient's store will be filled up beyond his immediate need. He may be forced to sell them at giveaway price. It is therefore better that some people pay in kind, while others pay in cash. One may even give out about 50% of the Zakat in kind and the rest in cash. Doing so will ensure that the recipient has raw food and cash for turning the raw food into real food. Payment in cash may even empower the poor and raise his status out of poverty line. He may also use the money to meet other things that he needs other than food.

Findings of an empirical study conducted here in Nigeria recently revealed that most street beggars, especially the itinerant ones, preferred cash to kind. Some of them accepted food stuff reluctantly because it was burdensome carrying them about before reaching home. On the other hand, all the beggars who sat in a particular place collected the grains willingly but sold them later in the day to a grain seller at a very low price, much lower than what they would have been given if the _Zakātul_ _fitr_ had been given to them in cash.

*Payment of _Zakātul fitr_ in cash* has attracted condemnations from some scholars who declare it as *_bid'ah_* on the basis that the Prophet, _saaws_ , did not give cash but kind. Ironically, the scholars accept the use of items like rice, _gari_ , millet, and maize, being the *staple food* of certain communities. One expects that such scholars would have classified them as *_bid'ah_* , too, because the Prophet, _saaws_ , did not give such food items as _Zakātul fitr_ . This shows that it is not everything that the Prophet, _saaws_ , did not do that must be classified as _bid'ah_ . It must also be noted that the Prophet, _saaws_ , did not mention " *staple food of a place* - *Qūtul balad* " as items of _Zakātul fitr_ . It was a new development after him based on reality.

In conclusion, it should be noted that _Zakātul fitr_ has been put in place to enable every Muslim partake in the celebration of _'Idulfitr_ without having any reason to engage in begging for food to eat. The welfare of the poor and the needy is paramount in Islam. The poor must be cared for and empowered to move out of poverty and become self -sufficient. The poor must resolve to move out of poverty through hard work and Allah's _barakah_ .

I pray to Allah to accept our fasting in this month of Ramadān and the payment of _Zakātul fitr_ as rewardable acts of _'Ibādah_ .

*TITBITS OF TAWHID*

*Understanding the Core of Muslim Belief*

What is Iman?
Iman (Faith) in Islam is to believe in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day and divine Decree (Qadar), both good and otherwise. It is the foundation of a Muslim’s spiritual life.

Tawhid as a Subset of Iman:
Tawhid, the Oneness of Allah, is one of the most fundamental part of Iman. It means affirming Allah’s uniqueness in His Lordship, Worship and Names and Attributes. Without Tawhid, Iman is incomplete.

Titbits of Tawhid!

1. Allah is not everywhere physically. His knowledge encompasses all things.
“And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. And He knows what is on the land and in the sea.” — Surah Al-An’am (6:59)

“The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established.” — Surah Taha (20:5)

2. Allah is the sole Creator, Owner, Controller and Sustainer of the entire universe.
“Allah is the Creator of all things and He is, over all things, the Disposer of affairs.” — Surah Az-Zumar (39:62)

3. Allah alone deserves all acts of worship such as Prayer, Supplication, Sacrifice and Trust—solely to Allah, without partners.
“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him.” — Surah Al-Isra (17:23)

When you swear as Muslims, swear only by Allah and not Idol names.

4. All Allah’s names and attributes are affirmed as described in the Qur’an and Sunnah without altering, denying, or likening them to His Creation. “There is nothing like unto Him and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.” — Surah Ash-Shura (42:11)
“The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne Established.” — Surah Taha (20:5) (Affirmation without asking ‘how’)

5. Charms, fortune-telling, witchcraft and magic are contrary to belief in Allah.
“And indeed, there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn but they increased them in burden.” — Surah Al-Jinn (72:6)

6. Allah has no partners, sons, daughters or helpers in His Dominion.
“Say, ‘He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent.’” — Surah Al-Ikhlas (112:1-4)

7. Allah’s knowledge and Power are absolute and encompasses everything; Nothing escapes His will.
“His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth and their preservation tires Him not.” — Surah Al-Baqarah (2:255)

8. No one intercedes with Allah except by His permission.
“Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?” — Surah Al-Baqarah (2:255)

9. Allah alone is the ultimate judge and will resurrect all for accountability.
“And to Allah belongs the Dominion of the heavens and the earth. And the Day the Hour appears— that Day they will be separated.” — Surah Az-Zumar (39:67)

10. Only Allah has Power over all things.
“Say, ‘Indeed, Allah has Power over all things.’” — Surah Al-Baqarah (2:20)

Tawhid is the cornerstone of Islamic Faith, affirming the Oneness and Uniqueness of Allah in every aspect of belief and worship. By understanding and embracing these fundamental truths, a Muslim strengthens their Iman, draws closer to Allah and safeguards their Faith from error. Let us strive to live by the principles of Tawhid sincerely, seeking Allah’s pleasure and Mercy in all that we do.

We Pray Allah continue to Guard and Guide us Aright, Protect us, Have Mercy on us, Increase us in Knowledge Sustenance and Piety and Enable us become Better MUSLIMS Better NIGERIANS.

*KPIs of I'TIKAAF*

What is KPI?

KPI means Key Performance Indicator.
KPI is a measurable indicator used to determine whether goals are being achieved.

•The spiritual retreat practiced by the Prophet ﷺ, especially during the last ten days of Ramadan is I‘TIKĀF. The KPI of Prophetic Seclusion means the key spiritual outcomes or indicators that show the seclusion is likely to be acceptable by Allah or successful according to the Sunnah.

Key Performance Indicators of I'tikaaf (Prophetic Seclusion) are hereby highlighted:

1️⃣ Increased Connection with Allah 🤲
✓ Constant remembrance (Dhikr)
✓ Deep reflection (Tafakkur)
✓Sincerity (Ikhlāṣ)
Qur’an Evidence:
“And do not have relations with them while you are in seclusion in the mosques.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:187)
This shows that I‘tikāf is meant for full devotion to Allah.

2️⃣ Increased Recitation of the Qur’an 📖
The Prophet ﷺ spent the last ten nights engaged in Qur’an recitation and reflection.
Hadith:
Aisha (RA) said:
“When the last ten nights of Ramadan began, the Prophet tightened his waist-belt, stayed up at night and woke his family.”
—Reported by Bukhari and Muslim
This indicates serious worship and Qur’an engagement.

3️⃣ Intensified Night Prayers (Qiyām al-Layl) 🌙
One KPI of successful seclusion is more voluntary prayers.
Hadith:
“Whoever stands in prayer during Laylatul Qadr with faith and hope of reward will have his previous sins forgiven.”
—Bukhari & Muslim.

4️⃣ Seeking Laylatul Qadr ⭐
A central KPI of I‘tikāf is actively searching for Laylatul Qadr.
Hadith:
“Seek Laylatul Qadr in the last ten nights of Ramadan.”
—Bukhari.

5️⃣ Detachment from Worldly Activities
Another indicator is reducing distractions:
✓ Less talk
✓ Avoiding business
✓ Avoiding unnecessary social activities
This helps focus purely on worship.

6️⃣ Increased Du‘ā
Especially the du‘ā taught by the Prophet ﷺ:
اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعف عني
Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuḥibbul ‘afwa fa‘fu ‘anni
Meaning:
“O Allah, You are Most Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me.”
—Tirmidhi.

*CHARITY AND WEALTH*

Husband and wife tested with a very chronic poverty during the time of Prophet Musa (a.s.) once concluded to meet Prophet Musa (a.s.) to help them ask Allah (swt) for Wealth.

Prophet Musa (a.s.) met Allah (swt) and narrated to HIM (Allah) the message of the poor married couple. Allah (swt) responded that HE will bless this husband and wife with abundant wealth BUT for just 12months.

Prophet Musa (a.s.) came back and informed the husband and wife that Allah (swt) said that HE will make them very rich for just 12months, after which they will get back to their former state. And immediately, they became the most wealthy in town.

Four (4) months after, the wife wake up her husband in the middle of the night and reminded him that they just have 8 more months for the wealth to vanish from their hands, so, what would they do about the situation? The husband and wife finally agreed that they should be giving out the wealth to the needy everyday for the remaining 8 months. They continued to share the wealth until the last day of the remaining 8 months.

The last day of the remaining 8 months came and they expected the wealth to disappear but the wealth continued to increase even after 3 months (that's 3 months after the expiration of the 12 months). Both the couples and the Prophet Musa (a.s.) were surprised.

To cut the long story short,

Prophet Musa (a.s.) went back to ask Allah (swt) if there's any reason why Allah (swt) did not make the wealth to vanish after 12 months (as promised). Allah (swt) responded that *"So long as they keep giving to the needy, the wealth will continue to remain with them"*.. Allahu Akbar!!!

*LESSONS:*

Giving out from what Allah (swt) have bless us with can never make us poor, rather, it will increase us in wealth, closeness to Allah and to people we are helping. Yes. Even if you didn't *(sometimes )* increase directly in currency after giving out, Allah (swt) will (1) grant you forgiveness of your sins (2) block many unbearable calamities from reaching you or your family members (3) prevent you and family from facing situations which will make you spend money endlessly in life and (4) you will be on HIS shade on the day of judgement, the day when people will be exposed to the intensity of sun ☀️ which will make human beings and jinns to be swallowed by their sweat.

May Allah (swt) accept all our charities and continue to soften our hearts 💕 to love and make giving sadaqah and helping the needy a habit. Aameen ,Ya Hayyu La Yamoot.

*GLANCE OF LOVE*

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) said:

“The pious offspring who casts a single look of affection at his parents receives a reward from Allah equal to the reward of an accepted Hajj.” The people enquired: “O Prophet of Allah (PBUH), if someone casts a hundred such glances of love and affection at his parents, what then?” The Prophet (PBUH) said: “Yes, indeed, even if one does so a hundred times a day, he will get a hundred fold rewards. Allah is far greater than you imagine and is completely free from petty narrow mindedness.” *[Sahih Muslim]*

*COMMENT*
Love your parents and consider this act as a privilege and a source of reward in the eternal world. How much parents love their children, how much they happily sacrifice for them and how much they want their child to be more privileged than they are, can only be understood when a person becomes a parent themself. Nobody likes to see others get ahead of him/her in this world except parents, who love to see their children better off than them in every way and for this they willingly sacrifice whatever they have.

Allah is the only one who really knows what is inside a parent’s heart. In order to help us to acknowledge and be grateful for their love Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) gives us mountains of reward from Himself for loving our parents. Truly, no-one is as appreciative as Allah of the love that parents shower on their children.

Should a person look at his/her parents lovingly even a hundred times a day, Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) will give them the reward of a hundred accepted Hajjs. There is no scarcity with Him. He needs to set no quotas on how much reward a person may earn in a day. It is humans who are petty and stingy towards the other.

The most beautiful thing in this world is to see your Parents smiling and knowing that you are the reason behind that smile.
May Allah give us the strength to take care of them the way they took care of us when we were helpless.

Aameen and Aameen

Ramadhaan 1447/2026 Day 15

*RAMADAN IS PRO-HEALTH*

The digestive system in humans (from mouth to anus) is about 23ft long (av) and it works continuously hard for 5 - 7 hours to process a meal.

The way we live ordinarily, with indiscriminate consumption of foods and snacks several times daily, ensures that our digestive system is busy working for virtually 24 hours daily. This will eventually lead to damage to our system with no time for rest and repairs.

Ramadan provides an opportunity for us to space our feeding by reasonable interval (Sahur around 5:40am and iftar around 7pm). During the intervals (14 & 10 hours), the damaged parts of the system are repaired and the cells rested.

This accounts for the freshness experienced, especially from the middle of Ramadan. This is apart from the spiritual benefits promised by Allah, our Creator (Q 2 v 183). Is Allah not merciful by giving us Ramadan!!?

*Islam, The Muslims and Tolerance*

These two men were driving on the road in Saudi Arabia when they collided. One of them had his car completely wrecked; may Allah compensate him for it.

Naturally, you’d expect both drivers to jump out and start a massive confrontation—making a public scene, calling the police, and refusing to let it go. But instead, they both got out and immediately checked on each other. "Are you okay? I'm okay." One told the other, "It’s not your fault, I’m the one who’s wrong."

At that very moment, the Maghrib Adhan sounded. They simply stepped aside and prayed together. This was a real-life moment, not a scripted scene. After they finished, they shook hands and actually became friends.

This footage was captured and went viral on major platforms, even leading a British newspaper headline today with: "Islam is the Religion of Tolerance." It reached American, Spanish, and British press, with everyone talking about it.

People were moved by the reaction and the realization that forgiveness is truly greatness. May Allah grant honor to Islam and the Muslims.
