Thanks a lot for your response. I think I will just work towards getting the 715w panels and selling off the 475w panels to recoup some of my money spent back. Not really in a hurry though cus the panels are still serving me well.

Is this Jinko solar panel OK? If not, which solar panel products are original and of good quality that I can buy that are half cut mono?
Brotherly,

If you decide to sell later on pls contact me i can buy them off you, na jst 3 pieces i need to add to my setup, my number is easily accessible on my profile.

Thanks

First of all, I know just understand your question. mayBe becauuse I never chop.

Do you mean you can't afford to completely change the entire solar panels to another of higher capacity e.g 550w hence you just want to buy something even if it's 450w or 475w or whatever to add to the 2pcs you currently have ?

What I would suggest is; first if you are using a hybrid inverter (has inbuilt charge controller) without external charge controller, then you need share with us image of the sticker on the inverter so we know it's capacity and not recommend what could cause issues or be a waste of funds.

BUT if you are using an external charge controller, you need tell us how many amps it is so we don't recommend what's outside it's capacity.

Now for sake of future growth, especially if you would love buying bigger solar panels, would suggest those extra 2pcs or 3pcs be at least 500w or 550w so that later when you want to upgrade, you only remove the 2pcs of 475w; rather than the entire 5pcs of solar panels. Mind you, 475w solar panels are not so popular especially nowadays hence reason I suggested 500w or 550w.

Let's ignore what happens when you mix and matxh solar panels of different wattage as that tradeOff doesn't matter here because of the reason I gave above.

Hopefully this answers your question. if not, then phrase your question properly so some of us go understand.

Don't forget to share the images requested so we don't make suggestions blindly
Thanks for the quick response ,

i dont have enough money now for a new string of higher capacity solar panels, i want to make do with what i have for now and plan for an upgrade later on.

my inverter is growatt es 6000

Yes i know 400+ watt panels are nt readily available nowadays, my main concern is getting something that will drag down the other panels because of parameter mismatch, that's my fear.

My aim is to gt 700+watt later on when i have the funds .

Hope my explanation is clear enough now sir. Thanks

Hello everyone

i need a recommendation on which kind of panel i can connect to this ones, i have 6 pieces of this jinko 475w going to like 2 yrs nw. I recently changed my inverter and needed more power bt don't have enough for a new string of panels, so am looking at an option where i can add 2 or 3 more panels to these ones i have .

i don't mind if they are used panels i jst need something similar or that will match these setting on my panels for it to work well.

Am open to suggestions pls and if you have panels to sell that can match these ones i already have pls feel free to gt in touch

Thanks

Please

Has anyone mixed lithium and lead acid batteries before in a safe manner?
I know you can't parallel them. I want to buy a 12V lithium battery with good BMS connect it to a 1800W step up converter 12v to 48v and use it as a DC source. Charging will be with an external charger as lithium and lead acid have different charge profiles.

Will this work?
Yes yes and yes

I know a friend that has a 10kwh lithium and 4 tubular batteries connected in parallel together to a 6kva Growatt.

Everything is working fine no issues since march 2025 till today.

Please any suggestion of a short blade ceiling fan that blows like it’s the end of the world but doesn’t consume more than 60W max?
Standing fans prices these days are ridiculously high
I saw ur post late bt if you haven't purchased that, there is another one that consumes way less, its an ac/dc ceiling fan made by the same company, best purchase av made this year

I want to go with 8x580w Jinko panels in series since it has VOC of 51.02V (STC), so that's 408.16V, which is in the MPPT voltage range.
Was wondering if there'll be a better config option.
Bros check Gennex Technologies, they have some Canadian panel 600w & 605w their Voc is 41v they are like 1.5k cheaper or higher than Jinko panels.

Dedending on your pocket bros u can get from 30- 60k, check. Xiaomi Thread Store page on Nairaland for current price.

There is no monthly sub for the tv box but some apps requires monthly/yearly subscription like Netflix, Amazon prime, Hulu, Peacock, etc.

There are tons of free streaming app you can install on it with zero monthly payments and you can watch the latest movies, and tv shows from all these steaming platforms i have mentioned. Most naija movies now are being uploaded directly to YouTube by the owner themselves.

With Internet you are in control anyday anytime.

The main koko is a reliable Unlimited internet plan.

Growatt is far better, heard Gennex is not too good with warranty on their inverters.

If you are not getting VICTRON, get DEYE, but if Deye is above you budget, get GROWATT, if Growatt is still above your budget get SRNE.

Any high frequency inverter outside above 4 mentioned inverters, just get SMS Sunmate Inverter if going for 24v or 48v.

NB: iPowerPlus 5kva is still good if going for low frequency inverter.
Thanks my Chairman make i google SRNE Inverters for better comparison, Deye and Victron pass the budget at hand.

Sorry can you elaborate more on why radio like services should be avoided. I did thorough research and settled for Tizeti. I just paid 3 days ago and on the waitlist. Now I’m feeling some type of way about it following your response. Hopefully if starlink prince drops further. I’ll purchase it. But I have to find a way to make the Tizeti work it cost 116500
Depending on the topography of your area, if you are in Ikeja Tizeti works fine bt i cant say for other areas, i was a user in 2022 yanked it off dec 2023 nw Fiberone now covers my area, i should be connected before this week runs out much cheaper monthly sub of 13k.

Tizeti is nt a reliable network at all, they have downtimes like Nepa light, no apologies no time added to ur sub to compensate for the downtime, its frustrating, during the day its very slow.

I offered to sell mine to a friend he declined cos its nt good in Agege area, Fiber networks is more reliable than radio . If rain should fall forget it u will have downtimes that can last up to 3 days.

The best way to enjoy it is when ur house is close to their base station serving ur area, even with 46 rsl signal level during installation u go still have problems later on. Their speed is 10mbps with 4 to 6 users u know mtn is better.

Their customer service na another case if you get problem, i was warned too before getting on board bt then i had no option in my area bt nw i have 3 diff fiber networks, i can choose from.
Technology MarketRe: House Clearance Sales.. Come In Here!!!! by alosbaba007(m):
odimbannamdi:
Exactly!

It gives more value for money.

I do 120gig for 22k with MTN. The data doesn't even last 2 weeks before I have to buy again and the network is epileptic most times. I keep shouting "can you hear me" in work calls. Very very embarrassing something.

Just that the hardware costs of Starlink is discouraging, but it is still worth it and provide excellent value for money.
Do a research around your area if any of the Fiber companies have coverage around your area, they provide 25-30mbps download speed and unlimited data plans . No data cap at all.

Subscription fee starts from 13k -15k

Stay away from ISP offering radio services like Tizeti.

Fiberone
Wifiber
Dotmac
Luli fiber

Google their names and make more research.

Cheers

Like every other notable person here has said, many factors determines the type of batteries to gt either old folk or newbie, the cost is the main issues for a lot of folks.

Some installers always present their customers with the lowest possible solutions that wont last.

Many times Hybrid inverters have been bad mouthed here saying this and that abt it, someone even came to this thread with the same idea cos he read it from past posts that Hybrid inverters are bad.

Lets stop all this bad mouthing and condemnation of products, this thread was created for a purpose, its has swerved far from it.

We can air out our opinions in a well respectable manner, not everyone has financial strength to buy lithium battery, while some are making it seem as if using lead-acid or tubular batteries is a big curse.

If you are a lithium user share ur journey talk good things abt it make people want to adopt it bt dont condemn where u are coming from, cos you are in a better place nw which is still nt the last busstop, technology evolves everyday.

Lastly i notice we dont talk more abt maintenance here all the time, if you have lead acid and tubular that has been working for you 3+ yrs , share you journey with others, what preventive methods did you adopt to get to this stage and what other equipments did you buy to make it more effective and long lasting for you, e.g battery balancers, how you use them, what kind of equipments do you power with them. Etc

We are all here to learn from one another, nobody knows it all.

Cheers
