Politics / I Won't Be Distracted, Says Wike by Alozie21(m): 5:47pm On Dec 08, 2022
Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike has vowed that nothing will distract him from governance until his last day in office.

The Governor said he would remain focused on delivering more projects to communities in the state despite the ongoing political campaigns.

Wike spoke on Thursday when he led a former Minister of State for Agriculture, Heineken Lokpobiri, to kick off the construction of the 17th internal roads within Rumuigbo community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area.

Wike also donated N200m for the rebuilding of the palace of the king in the area, Uchechukwu Isaiah Elikwu, the Eze Epara Rebisi, XII.

The Governor said his social contract with Rivers people, who gave him their mandate required that he remained committed to serving them till the last day of his administration.

Wike assured that he would continue to make Rivers people happy and deliver infrastructure until the 29th May 2023.

He said: "We believe that party is a vehicle that conveys you to where you want to go. Having conveyed to where you are heading to, you come down and begin to do governance.

"We just invited you (Lokpobiri) to come down and see what we are doing in the State.

"So many people are distracted by the campaign. We are not going to be distracted by the campaign. We want to focus on the development of our community. I will work until 29th of May, 2023 because that is the day my agreement will terminate with the people of Rivers State."

He dismissed comments by critics that Rumuigbo community had never benefitted from his administration and reminded them of the reconstruction work carried out on the Omoi-Orosi road with the drains channelled through Okocha Streets to the nearby stream.

Wike said the contractor also handled the Obi Wali Road but observed that the area was still affected by though perennial flood.

To solve the perennial flood, Wike pointed to particular land considered suitable to channel the water and assured the Rivers government would acquire the property for that purpose.

Politics / Expel Wike, Ned Nwoko Tells PDP Leaders by Alozie21(m): 6:38pm On Nov 07, 2022
Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Delta North senatorial candidate, Prince Ned Nwoko, has described Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike, as a nuisance who has done the party a lot of damage.

Nwoko, who spoke to reporters in Asaba, Delta Capital, decried that Wike was being treated with levity by the PDP hierarchy, adding that he should be shown the way out of the party.

According to him: " Wike Is a nuisance, quote me anywhere. If I were the leader of the party, I would have acted differently. I would have done things differently. He has done a lot of damage to the PDP and I don't know what they are waiting for to show him the way out."

On his political ambition, Nwoko said he would do better than he did in the House of Representatives in 1999, adding that the hallmark of a good legislator is the ability to lobby.

" A good lawmaker is almost as good as someone with executive power. It is all about lobbying. Normally our focus is on the well-being of Nigeria. As a senator, I will be representing Nigeria whether you are in PDP, APC or Labour Party. It doesn't make any difference to me. If you look at the bills I sponsored when I was in the House of Representatives, it was all about the people. It was about the minimum wage, about the disability allowance and many others like that.

"Coming down to Delta, the Benin/Asaba road need to be resurfaced, we also need service stations along the way."

He said he would lobby for more dams to be built to check the menace of the flood.

Politics / Criminality Of The Highest Order by Alozie21(m): 5:58pm On Nov 04, 2022
This is governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s new home in Maryland, USA. This house is located just at 8801 Fernwood road, Bethesda, Maryland, United States of America. Those who are in America can visit the above-mentioned location to confirm this information. I have been investigating this property since the last one week, and finally, here is the result.

This house was bought for $12,500,000, which is equivalent of 5,489,625,000 in Naira.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has been owing pensioners in his State since the last three years. He has been denying Abia civil servants their leave allowances since the last five years. He has been denying civil servants their promotion arrears since 2015 till date. The level of poverty amongst civil servants in Abia State under Okezie Ikpeazu is unimaginable. Almost everyone in Abia today is wearing a long face.

Amidst all of the hardships ravaging Okezie Ikpeazu’s State, he heartlessly amassed the people’s resources and used public resources to get for himself a house of 5 billion Naira in the United States of America.

Can wickedness be defined in a more appropriate way than this?

Dear Abians, anticipate for investigations.

Politics / The Problem Of Nigeria Is Class 2007 Governors by Alozie21(m): 5:04pm On Nov 02, 2022
I meant those who became Governors from 1999 - 2007, they did not only destroy Nigeria but they refused to retire from politics.

These are the men who could have set a standard for good governance in Nigeria but they failed.

Most of them are being recycled between Ministers and Senators.

They have become godfathers in their respective states dictating who gets what in every political election season and appointment.

They are very corrupt and I can tell you that 80% of them at least have one corrupt case hanging on their necks.

They are the old order we talk about in the political system of Nigeria, they have refused Nigeria to grow above them and have succeeded in determining who becomes the President.

This is the right to retire these men and remind them of their duties as elder statesmen.

We must rescue Nigeria from dying with its old age.

Politics / The Taxes Are Too Much by Alozie21(m): 9:33am On Nov 02, 2022
I will suggest that Prof Soludo proclaims a Government of Communism, so that his govt can now own the property and wealth of the citizens and residents of the state and shared among everyone according to their ability and needs.

Heard that all shop owners in Anambra State have been ordered to deduct N50 Stamp Duty from their customers who makes purchase of N1000 and above and remit to His Government.

How is this going to work?

If you go through the auction of revenue streams by the new administration, you wonder the feasibility of that exercise. Where a revenue stream that was hitherto paying about 5 million naira monthly was auctioned for 45 million naira monthly.

This will strangulate the businesses in that stream.

By the time our people pay all the taxes and levies from this administration, one may go home monthly empty handed.

So the best option is to introduce a govt of communism. Let govt own everything and share to us according to our needs.

Peter Obi:
1. Nigeria need someone who understands the level of hardship in the Country and passionate on how to solve it, it never a rocket science but counting based on the previous offices this candidate held and the role they played and still playing in the polity, Nigeria need someone we can held accountable and someone who can easily listen to the masses and do the needful.
2. In other to solve the issues of marginalization and Inclusivity at the center as of today count from the number 1 Candidate of the country to the number 8 you can't see an Igbo man. Indirectly it a clear call that igbos are not Nigeria, yet no one want to talk about referendum, so if Obi becomes the President is have given Igbos sense of belonging and justice to keep Nigeria united.
3. Peter ideology on finance, infrastructure, accountability, transparency, humility among others shows the kind of change we have been clamouring for, and I personally believe in him.

Politics / Wike: We Are Yet To Decide Presidential Candidate To Support by Alozie21(m): 7:45pm On Oct 31, 2022
Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike has declared that the State is yet to decide who it will support for the presidency in 2023.

The Governor also chided a former Minister of Transport and Rivers Director, Atiku Supporters, Dr. Abiye Sekibo, saying he lacks the capacity to speak for the people of the State.

Wike declared that the Rivers PDP governorship candidate, all the House of Representatives, Senate and House of Assembly candidates would win in the 2023 general elections.

He however disclosed that the State was yet to determine what to do concerning the presidential election.

“PDP will win our State. I am not hiding it as far as the governorship, House of Reps, Senate and State Assembly are concerned. The other one we have not decided until the right thing is done,'' he said.

Wike described Sekibo as a self-seeking politician, who was unable to attract democratic dividends of any kind to the state and his Okirika hometown when he served as a Minister.

The governor spoke during the inauguration of 319 ward and 32 constituency liaison officers in Government House, Port Harcourt on Monday.

Wike said: "I watched a video when one Dr. Abiye Sekibo, while he was addressing people in his house on Sunday, said he is the director of Atiku's Supporters in Rivers. I have no problem about that. But he does not have that capacity to speak on behalf of Rivers State.

"In that video, he said that River State has been having a close relationship with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and that Rivers State has always benefitted from Atiku Abubakar. I want to correct one impression, Dr. Abiye Sekibo has a personal relationship with Alhaji Atiku, not Rivers State.

"Dr. Abiye Sekibo was Minister of Transport when Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was the Vice-President of Nigeria. Can you people mention one project in Okrika, I don't even want to talk about Rivers State, in Ogu/Bolo, one project that he brought down to Rivers State. Is there anyone?"

Wike said leadership was not about personal aggrandizement, but serving the people, protecting their interests while building up others as competent successors.

The Governor said people like Dr. Sekibo number among those, who were never satisfied with the fortunes they had enjoyed in life, otherwise, he should have been silent in the public sphere for his failure in leadership.

He said: "I was a Minister, junior Minister in that matter. But I am proud to say anywhere I go to in this state (Rivers) ,I brought dividends of democracy to Rivers state.

"As a junior Minister, I brought the Oil and Gas Polytechnic to Rivers State which is sited in Bonny. There was no Faculty of Law at the University of Port Harcourt since the creation of that institution, but I brought it.

"As a Minister, I made sure Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic and the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, even if they are State's institutions. I made sure they got grant of N500m each."

Wike also mentioned his several educational interventions at the primary and secondary school levels, which depicted what true leadership should be.
