A video which surfaced online has left social media buzzing after a girl shared the hostel in
Unilag her friend got which sells at 350k.

According to information, there is usually a balloting procedure done to get hostels in the University and not everyone is fortunate enough to get one.

However, some students who are lucky to get hostels, increase the price and resell to others who want to live in the hostel because of the proximity to classes. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The lady who shared the video of the Makama hostel, claims her friend got hers at an exorbitant price of 350k, but the environment is nothing to write home about.

The friend lamented how on getting to the room the door was detached, window net torn and there was no electricity coming into the room.

Davido is now set to take revenge on his accusers as he advises everyone not to beg him when the payback starts.

Lately, the singer has been caught up in a whirlwind of accusations from people who accused him of owing them different sums of money.

Reacting to the callout in a cryptic tweet, Davido wrote that nobody should beg him. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

“I go beat you for here – Portable fights promoter in Italy for taking cash sprayed on him

Controversial Nigerian artist Habeeb Okikiola, better known by his stage name Portable, caused a ruckus on the streets of Italy with his promoter.

Portable had issues with his promoter for taking all the money that was showered on him during the event during his performance. Edo celebrities reports,

Portable was captured on camera yelling and engaging in conversation with the promoter who reportedly took the money sprayed on him.

He asserted that any cash placed in Portable’s pocket belonged to the singer, but added that he (the promoter) was the rightful owner of any cash that attendees sprayed.

The Zeh Nation singer was so enraged by this that he made threats against the person who had invited him to the event. Portable charged the man’s car and used his leg to strike it.

Portable lamented; “Useless human being all my money wey dem spray me that place this useless man don carry am run.”

The show promoter told him: “Money wey dem spray you, na me get am, money wey dem put for your pocket na your own.”

In reaction, the artiste said; “Me I go beat you for here, me I be street boy for Lagos, I go beat your father nothing to happen.”

“I didn’t use pity as strategy to win BBN; I prayed to God” — Ilebaye

Winner of the BBNaija All Stars, Ilebaye has dismissed claims that she won the show by playing a victim as she insists that her strategy was prayer.

The reality star made this known while speaking in an interview. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Ilebaye who had won the 120 million grand prize also revealed that she never thought she would last up to three weeks in the house.

She said:

 

“I did not use any strategy (to win the game). The only strategy I used was to pray to God. I never imagined that I would win the competition.

“During my first participation on the show (in 2022), I spent only three weeks. When I realised that they were bringing stars (for this season), I thought I would last for a maximum of three weeks. I did not know I would be the winner.”

While speaking on what she regrets, she said that she wished she had danced very well at the weekly Saturday party.

“The only regret is that I wish I danced very well at the parties. But, there was so much fun and adventure in the house. So, I really don’t have any regret,” she said.

Ilebaye wins 120 million.

The 22-year-old speaking on what she had learned from being on the show for a second time said that she’s learned to stop underestimating herself.

Ilebaye stated:

“I have learnt never to underestimate myself. One should always believe in oneself, no matter the outcome. Even if one had failed before, one should never give up. One’s time will always come.”

She also gave some clarification on what ‘Gen Z baddie’ means as she stated it means ‘having so much life’. Ilebaye added, “It is basically telling everybody I am young. It is a call for young people to be seen and loved.”

Ilebaye also added that the winning still feels like an imagination to her and she’s still trying to come to terms with it.

“I have just been overwhelmed and staying in my room, trying to think and feel the emotions of being the winner. I have not really gone into details of what is going on in the world now. But, I am sure is all love and light; no hate,” she said.

The source said according to the tradition of Leru Community of Umunneochi LGA in Abia State, the man would be buried in a forest for committing sacrilege.

The man was eventually buried, on Friday, August 25 in a bush, the source added.

23-year-old man stabs 4-year-old nephew to death

A 23-year-old man has reportedly stabbed his 4-year-old nephew to death at his home in Kilingot village, Baringo north in Kenya.

The suspect has been identified as Silas Kipkosgei and he reportedly stabbed his nephew to death on Tuesday, May 23, after he was left in his custody.

Preliminary reports indicate that the suspect was seen waylaying the nephew with some sweets and rock cakes at his house which is within the homestead shortly before he took him to the living room and stabbed him to death three times on the neck and back.

Solomon Cheptumo, a village elder told journalists that the minor's grandmother who was at the farm came in to check on the grandson and also to serve him lunch but was unable to trace him, she then called the suspect who was within but didn't answer.

When she decided to check in the living room but found it locked from the inside. Cheptumo said;

“She then peeped through the window, seeing Kipkosgei sitting at the edge of the sofa watching his nephew, with some blood flowing on the sofa, she pleaded with him to open the door but he did not respond, and that’s when she suspected something was wrong and called out for help from the neighbours. makesense pm reports,

“Upon arrival, we made our way inside the living room, and to our shock found Kipkosgei drinking water from a cup while staring at the body of the deceased which was lying lifeless on the sofa with blood oozing from the stabbed wounds," neighbours said

Security operatives were alerted immediately to help stop any lynch attempt on the suspect.

Joshua Kandie who is the village chief noted that they suspect that Kipkosgei has mental issues as he stabbed his brother in the past. At the time, his brother managed to escape death by a whisker.

The officers who arrived at the scene took the deceased’s body to Baringo County Referral Hospital Mortuary, awaiting postmortem while the accused was detained at Kabanet Police Station.

Buhari borrows to avoid imposing heavy taxes on Nigerians – Fashola

Minister of Works and Housing, Babajide Fashola has disclosed that the federal government has the option to impose taxes on Nigerians as opposed to needing to borrow to fund projects.

Fashola emphasized that the resolve of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to borrow funds to execute projects was in line with what obtained in other climes.

While disclosing this during the flag-off of the Akure-Ado highway, the Minister stated that Buhari will continue to award contracts and borrow until his last day in office.

According to him, the president has until midnight on May 28 to cease performing his executive powers.


Fashola claimed that the N90 billion project will be funded by the NNPC through the federal government’s tax credit policy.

He added that infrastructure development can only be realized through borrowing or taxation. Makesense Pm reports,

The Minister revealed that misinformation had been spread about him over the delay of the project, which had previously been granted to Dantata and Sawoe Construction Firm.

Fashola maintained that the project will be completed in 24 months, adding that the project has been awarded to Samchase Nigeria Ltd. and Kopeck Construction Company.

“People are asking why we are still awarding contracts when we have just a few days to go. Should we stop this road now and wait for the next government?

“It is a juvenile conversation. They forgot, among other things, that the term of this administration ends at midnight on May 28.

“This road really represents the paradox about governance, about roads, and about public debts. This is the real story.

“The work looks easy from the outside, but one decision leads to other consequences. But we have now given you contractors who have worked with you,” he said.
