Family / Lady Who Secretly Welcomed Baby With Ex Dumps Husband After Sponsoring Her UK by alphonsojaybaz: 5:48am On May 06
Lady who secretly welcomed baby with ex dumps husband after sponsoring her UK master’s

A Nigerian guy told a heartbreaking tale about a woman who, after making amends and having a child with her ex-boyfriend, left her marriage to the man who had funded her master’s degree in the UK.

The lengthy and depressing tale was shared by popular social media user @OurFavOnlineDoc, who said that a buddy had recounted it to him. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

So earlier today I was talking to a friend who narrated a very saddening story that sends shivers down my spine every time I think about it- even now as I write this.

I was talking to my friend - who is a lady- and we were just talking about how marriage can make or mar a person and she shared this true life story with me.

So there’s a man, in his early 40s, let’s call him Chijioke, for the sake of this writeup. Chijioke is an uneducated man who is into “container” business, import, export and many legitimate business enterprises. He inherited a huge business empire from his father and he successfully even took it to far greater heights.

Chijioke met a young fine fairskinned gorgeous lady and got romantically attracted to her. Let’s call the lady Amaka, for the sake of this writeup.

Amaka is a well educated, classy, beautiful lady who has just recently finished from university when she met Chijioke. She had just gone through a rough breakup with her ex-boyfriend, a few weeks before meeting Chijioke.

For the sake of the story, let’s call her ex boyfriend Nnamdi. Amaka considered her ex-boyfriend Nnamdi the true love of her life. However as the relationship failed, she moved on with her life- or so it seemed. And then came along Chijioke.

Within a few weeks of expensive dates, luxury shopping and quality time together; Amaka and Chijioke started dating. Chijioke is what you will call an “Agba Baller”, an “Odogwu”, a true rich money-spending big boy in every meaning of the term.

In no time, she got pregnant - and they decided to formalise the relationship. They had a traditional marriage and within a year, they had a pretty baby girl child. Let’s call the child Ijeoma.

After about 3years, Amaka told Chijioke her husband that she would like to go for masters in the uk. Chijioke fully paid for her masters (about £15,000), he paid 11 months rent (about £13,000), and he set aside £5,000 monthly which he sent to her for her upkeep. He bought her a car as soon as she landed in uk and all she had to do was take the uk driver’s license exams and she started driving.

So while other students were hustling for 20hours work in warehouses and shopping malls, Amaka was living a super comfortable life. All Chijioke wanted was for his wife to focus on her masters and not be distracted or bothered by any stress. Amaka and Chijioke also agreed that Ijeoma will stay with Chijioke in Lagos while Amaka was doing masters and once the masters was over, Amaka will be back home in Lagos.

As the masters was rounding up, and with the situation and state of Nigeria getting worse, Amaka explained to Chijioke that she feels it would be better if they all relocate to uk as a family.

Chijioke was fine with this but he felt it may be difficult for him to fully relocate as all his business is completely domiciled in Nigeria. So they reached a compromise- Amaka and Ijeoma will relocate to UK first fully, then Chijioke will be visiting from time to time while trying to figure out if there’s a way for him to also fully join them. This sounded like a good plan.

Amaka started sending Chijioke some paperwork for him to sign regarding “consent for school” for Ijeoma when Ijeoma comes to uk. She also sent him some more paperwork and documents - many which were voluminous- but he mostly signed a lot of them without reading much details.

I mean why would your wife of four years (currently in uk studying masters sponsored by you), why would she send you documents to sign regarding your child and you will be suspicious? Right?

Well, wrong. How very wrong.
This will turn out to be the biggest mistake of his life….

So everything was sorted and the only thing left was for Chijioke to come to uk with Ijeoma to meet Amaka- for them to start the planning of their new lives together as a family going forward.

Eventually Chijioke came with Ijeoma and handed her over to her mom. Everything was fine until about 2weeks after, and then Ijeoma with tears in her eyes said “Chijioke I have something to tell you which is eating me up and killing me inside”. He asked her what it was and then she dropped the bombshell on him.

“I never loved you. I tried to love you but I could never love you. I have never gotten over my ex, Nnamdi. I’m sorry it took me so long to say this”.

He was totally dumbfounded.
There was no response to this sort of bombshell.

Amaka went ahead and said “I also need to tell you that the paperwork and documents you signed for Ijeoma was the formal transfer of full parental responsibility of Ijeoma to Nnamdi who has now officially adopted her and will henceforth be her father. I am really sorry”.

At this point, Chijioke wished for the ground to open up and swallow him alive. He felt he was in a movie at this point and hoped the director will simply scream “cut” to end this horror he is in. But alas, this is real. This is his life being shattered right before his eyes.

Chijioke stood up, carried his box, called his friend on phone who lived in a nearby city and in tears begged him to let him just come over to clear his head. Let’s call Chijiokes friend Chibuzor for the sake of this story.

After a few days, Amaka was able to locate where he went and she came to see him. Chibuzor confronted her and she confirmed in tears to him that it’s all true.

She said “I never loved Chijioke but now my guilt is eating me up so I had to open up to him and say the truth. I wish Chijioke well because he has never hurt me and he didn’t deserve any of this. I never got over my ex and unfortunately I’m going back to Nnamdi as he’s the only one who truly gives me joy”.

Amaka confirms as her uk student visa was expiring in 2023, she has already secured a work visa and it does not have Chijioke on it as dependant, because she feels she needs to move on with her life and she hopes he will do the same.

“Did Chijioke beat you?”
“Did Chijioke assault you?”
“Did Chijioke treat you badly?”
“Did Chijioke cheat on you?”
Chibuzor asked Amaka out of a total confusion as to why she acted this way.

Amaka said Chijioke never beat her, never cheated on her and never treated her badly. “Chijioke is a good man but I’m just not the one for him” she said in tears. She says she feels suicidal continuing in the marriage as the guilt will make her kill herself if Chijioke doesn’t let her go. Amaka stated her mental health is in severe jeopardy if she doesn’t walk away from Chijioke.

Chijioke was sad, lost and confused at all of this. None of it made any sense. He’s lost his wife, he’s lost his child, he’s lost his marriage, he’s lost everything.

He asked her:
“Am I the father of Ijeoma?” “Does the child belong to me or to Nnamdi?”

Amaka looked at him, thought about the question, said nothing and walked out. That was the last time he ever heard from her.

Amaka is back with Nnamdi and with Ijeoma also living with them.

Today Chijioke is back to Lagos. He went back sometime last month trying to pick up the shattered pieces left of his life.

This is a true life story that just happened. Till now, I honestly remain in a total awe when I think about this entire story.

Apparently Chijioke is very rich but unfortunately very uneducated. Being uneducated is not a crime. But being uneducated and trusting the wrong person is a mistake that can ruin and will ruin anyone.

Chijioke signed multiple documents from his wife who he trusted, not knowing he was signing away his marriage and signing the transfer of parental responsibility of a child (he believed to be his) to another man. He spoke to many uk lawyers who are trying to see if there’s anyway to reverse the adoption granted to Nnamdi- but he’s being told the chances of a successful reversal is very slim. This is someone he spent so much and gave so much to.

To love someone is never a mistake, but to attempt to buy love with money is a deadly mistake that can clearly destroy a person if and when things go really wrong,

Never take as priority someone who takes you as an option. And never attempt to buy love with money- because love is either given or not given.

If you think you have to pay for love, then you are actually paying for something that is not love. And with time, you will probably learn the hard way.

In my own view-
This is my personal view
-
It looks to me that Amaka was in touch with Nnamdi all along even while she was married and had a child with Chijioke.

I also feel quite strongly that the whole trip to the uk for masters was just a smokescreen and an excuse to reunite with Nnamdi who was also now in uk. I believe the child Ijeoma actually belongs to Nnamdi and she told him this during that masters program.

I also believe it was during the time of her masters that she finalised the plans to relocate the child to uk and reunite the child with the actual biological father. And obviously with the child reunited with the actual biological father, with her going back to Nnamdi and with Amaka now having a uk masters and a uk job; she had no need anymore for Chijioke who she probably detested and only exploited because he was rich enough to fund her fantasies and finance her lifestyle.

This story still continues to turn my head inside out as I fail to understand how a human being could be so cold, so brutal, so calculating and so vicious.

To go as far as marry a man only to use him purely as a means to get back with your ex is something I find totally unthinkable.

I hope the Chijioke man finds strength and picks himself up after this sort of ordeal.

Politics / 465 Hostages Were Freed And 715 Terrorists Killed In April - DHQ by alphonsojaybaz: 10:09am On May 03
465 hostages were freed and 715 terrorists killed in April - DHQ

According to the Nigerian Defence Headquarters, 465 kidnapped hostages were released in April, and troops killed over 715 terrorists in that same month.

During a biweekly media briefing in Abuja, Maj-Gen Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operation, revealed these.

Buba emphasized that eliminating terrorist organizations is a must in order to shield citizens from additional harm.

He added that the military’s coordinated use of air and ground forces allowed them to accomplish the task.

He claimed that operations in April comprised fighting patrols, ambushes, and raids using aircraft assets to locate and attack terrorist commanders and their bases. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

He said, “The synchronised strikes between the ground and air forces during the period under review resulted in over 715 terrorists neutralised.

“During the process, troops arrested 146 persons and rescued 465 kidnapped hostages.

“Furthermore, troops recovered 937 assorted weapons, 23,034 assorted ammunition, and denied the oil theft of an estimated sum over N2 billion (N2,572,397,190),” he said.

He listed some of the engagements of the troops and the successes they recorded in the fourth month of the year.

“On April 13, 2024, during the airstrikes, three senior terrorist commanders (Ali Dawud, Bakura Fallujah, and Mallam Ari) were neutralised at Kolleram Village along Lake Chad.

“Additionally, on April 15, 2024, the enclave of terrorist commander, Babaru, in Kankara LGA of Katsina State was destroyed. On April 19, 2024, the terrorist hideout belonging to a senior terrorist commander, Kamilu Buzaru, in Danmusa LGA of Katsina State was decimated.

“Similarly, on April 20, 2024, a gathering of senior terrorist commanders, Ado Ailero and Kamilu Buzaru in Danmusa LGA of Katsina State was disrupted by airstrikes. Battle Damage Assessment of all these strikes revealed that several terrorist combatants and their commanders were neutralised,” he added.

In the North-East, the military spokesperson reported that Operation Hadin Kai troops conducted missions in the Sambisa Forest, Timbuktu Triangle, and the Tumbus around Lake Chad, resulting in the elimination of 248 terrorists, the arrest of 422 and the rescue of 163 kidnapped hostages.

Additionally, he said 714 Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists, along with their families, surrendered, with recovered items including 208 AK-47 rifles, 34 fabricated guns, 45 Dane guns, and various caches of ammunition.

In the North-Central area, he said Operation Safe Haven neutralised 32 terrorists, arrested 148, and rescued 35 kidnap victims, seizing weapons and ammunition.

Maj-General Buba said Operation Whirl Stroke targeted criminal strongholds, killed 60 terrorists, arrested 99, and rescued 57 hostages, with arms and ammunition also recovered.

In the North-East, Operation Hadarin Daji, he said, continued efforts against terrorists, killing 297, apprehending 141, and rescuing 143 hostages, with significant weapon and ammunition recoveries.

In the South-South, the Operation Delta Safe operations, according to him, targeted violent extremists, crude oil theft, and illegal refining, resulting in killings, arrests, and significant recoveries as well as successes of Operation UDO KA in the South-East.

Politics / Femi Falana: Minister Of Power Has Failed Nigerians With The Increase In Tarriff by alphonsojaybaz: 9:00am On May 01
Femi Falana: "Minister of Power has failed Nigerians with the increase in electricity tariffs

Adebayo Adelabu, the minister of power, has come under fire from human rights attorney Femi Falana for his “failure to deliver a constant supply of electricity despite increasing tariffs.”

The Band A rate was raised by the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) from N68/KWh to N225/kWh. Eyes Of lagos reports,

According to NERC, clients in Band A could anticipate to receive 20–24 hours of electricity per day, while subscribers in Band B and Band C receive 16–20 hours and 12–16 hours, respectively.

However, the reputable attorney called the electricity policy “the illegality of tariffs,” noting that neither Adelabu nor the federal government could justify the increase.

In an interview on Channels TV on Tuesday, April 30, Falana said;

“The Minister of Power, Mr Adebayo Adelabu has failed to address the question of the illegality of the tariffs

“Section 116 of the Electricity Act 2023 provides that before an increase can be approved and announced, there has to be a public hearing conducted based on the request of the Discos to have an increase in the electricity tariffs. That was not done

“Secondly, neither the minister nor the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission has explained why the impunity that characterised the increase can be allowed.”

Falana also expressed concern over what he described as impunity on the part of the FG and NERC, stressing their actions were not backed by laws. He said;

“I have already given a notice to the commission because these guys are running Nigeria based on impunity and we can not continue like this. When a country claims to operate under the rule of law, all actions of the government, and all actions of individuals must comply with the provisions of relevant laws.

“Secondly, the increase was anchored on the directives of the commission that customers in Band A will have an uninterrupted electricity supply for at least 20 hours a day. That directive has been violated daily. So, on what basis can you justify the increase in the electricity tariffs?”

Falana alleged that the Nigerian government is following the instructions handed down by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

“The Honourable Minister of Power is acting the script of the IMF and the World Bank.

“Those two agencies insisted and they continue to insist that the government of Nigeria must remove all subsidies. Fuel subsidy, electricity subsidy and what have you; all social services must be commercialised and priced beyond the reach of the majority of Nigerians.

“So, the government cannot afford to protect the interest of Nigerians where you are implementing the neoliberal policies of the Bretton Wood institutions,” he added.

The claimants in the action were the Registered Trustees of NBM of Africa, Ese Kakor, Felix Kupa, and Mayor Onyebueke.

The NBM of Africa and three others took Ikeji to court after she refused to honor the demand letter of retraction and apology for the libelous material published on her blog on October 19, 2021.

In her publication on October 19, 2021, the blogger allegedly referred to NBM of Africa as a terrible cult group, , criminal organization, and other titles.

“This will serve as a lesson to bloggers that it is not every item you publish. It is good to verify information before making a publication.

“NBM of Africa is a legal organization duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

“The publication made by the defendant against my client has been cleared that it was a damaging publication.

“NBM is good to go, we are going to take all necessary steps to enforce the terms of the judgment against her.

“It was an erudite judgment that is all-encompassing and will be difficult to fault,” Agbroko said.

Politics / Peter Obi On Killings In The Enugu Community: "Enough Is Enough, The Government by alphonsojaybaz: 9:54am On Apr 29
Peter Obi on killings in the Enugu community: "Enough is enough, the government must show commitment."

Former Labour Party presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi says that the country cannot permit more innocent Nigerian bloodshed to occur under any pretense.
According to Obi, the government needs to demonstrate its clear commitment to ensuring the safety of Nigerian citizens’ lives and belongings. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The declaration comes in response to the suspected killer herdsmen’s recent attack on Ugwujoro in the Nimbo Community of the Uzo Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The former governor of Anambra State expressed his dismay over the report in a post on his X handle on Monday. He specifically mentioned how individuals who incite terror have persisted in terrorizing the people of Uzo-uwani over time.

Obi commiserated with the people who lost their loved ones to the cruel attack.

He said: “I just read reports of yet another senseless killing of harmless and defenseless villagers in Uzo Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu state over the weekend.

“I find the report very disturbing, especially recalling that these terror-mongers have continued to unleash terror on the people of Uzo-uwani over the years. Uzo Uwani is one of the areas I have closely related with and remained supportive to. I am pained by how these attacks have made the people of the area to live in constant fear of terror and death.

“I recall that in 2015, a hostel of one of the best secondary schools in that area, Mater Amabilis, Adani was completely razed by fire, and the students were without a hostel.

“When I read the reports, I quickly intervened, rebuilt the hostel and handed it over to the School Management by March 2016. A month after that, the people of Nimbo Community in the same Uzo Uwani were senselessly murdered, and this attracted national attention.

“I attended their funeral alongside the former Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. I helped in consoling and rehabilitating the victims. My heart, again, goes out to the people of Uzo Uwani who have continued to experience these incessant attacks.

“We must not allow further spilling of the blood of innocent Nigerians under any guise. Enough must now be enough. The government should show visible commitment to the security of lives and property of the Nigerian people.

“Uzo Uwani local government area of Enugu state is the main agricultural bed of the state and the continued insecurity there will have far-reaching consequences on food production in the state.

“Security agencies should be proactive especially as this area has become prone to these attacks and take necessary actions to avert future occurrences.

“I sincerely commiserate with the people of Uzo-uwani who lost their loved ones to this cruel attack and indeed all the many victims of insecurity in our nation.

“May God Almighty grant eternal rest to the dead, grant quick recovery to the wounded and heal our land bleeding profusely from insecurity. We shall conquer!”

Months after the removal of subsidies, Nigerians are still facing queues and Fuel Scarcity

Nigerians are still coping with the hard reality of fuel scarcity and long lines at gas stations all throughout the nation, months after the federal government removed fuel subsidies and allowed competition in the market.
This is happening while oil marketers have been trading accusations over the present fuel crisis as long lines for gasoline grew in the nation’s largest cities despite the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited’s (NNPCL) claims that supplies have been consistent.

On May 29, 2023, President Bola Tinubu completely eliminated gasoline subsidies during his inauguration, which resulted in sharp increases in gas prices around the nation. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

This removal of petrol subsidy was supposed to open up petrol imports to the private sector as part of provisions in the Petroleum Industry Act 2021, thus taking the monopoly of petrol importation from the NNPCL.

However, the NNPCL has for several months now returned to being the sole importer of petrol in Nigeria, as private oil firms are unable to obtain foreign currency for importation

The NNPCL had previously announced that it was no longer the sole supplier of petroleum products in the country, but the situation has changed due to forex shortages

The NNPCL defended its monopoly in fuel import, citing oil marketers’ inability to cope with price volatility in the downstream sector

Fuel lines have been growing in Lagos since earlier this week, and they are only becoming longer as a result of some gas stations—mostly run by independent marketers—going dry. Long lines at dispensing locations have been observed in Abuja, where a similar situation is reported.

Despite the fact that most of the gas stations Berger visited were closed, gas prices on the villages along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway appeared to be unchanged.

While there were lengthy lines at some of the filling stations, PMS was sold for N610 per litre at the Ardova filling station in Warewa, NIPCO was charging N645 along the Arepo-Magboro axis of the Express Road, and Conoil was charging N640 per litre. All of the filling stations were maintaining their previous prices.

At Falomo, Lagos, Total Energies and Mobil sold at N605 without any queues while at NNPC at Obalende, fuel sold for N568.

The chief corporate communication officer at the NNPCL, Olufemi Soneye, told Eyes Of Lagos that supply is regular and advised Nigerians to shun panic buying.

“The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) wishes to clarify that the tightness in the supply of Premium Motor Spirit currently being experienced in some areas across the country is as a result of logistics issues and that they have been resolved.

“It also wishes to reiterate that the prices of petroleum products are not changing,” Soneye said in the terse statement.

The company urged Nigerians to avoid panic buying as there is a sufficiency of the product in the country.

However, a key operator in the downstream industry told our correspondent that complaints from independent marketers was that supply had been irregular in the last few days.

Our visit to some depots in Lagos showed that loading was ongoing but not as much as it was in the past.

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) said that the scarcity of petrol is due to a logistics hitch impacting the supply of petroleum products across the country.

Eyes Of Lagos observed that several filling stations including some outlets of the NNPCL were shut, and customers were told, “We do not have fuel.”

Many commuters in the nation’s capital, Abuja, were seen stranded at major bus stops, as only a few taxis were available to transport passengers. The available transporters increased the fares payable by passengers.

Aramco

Speaking on the cause of the scarcity, the national president of IPMAN, Abubakar Maigandi, said that the NNPCL had just met with the association and assured them of enough supply of petroleum.

“We just held a meeting with the NNPCL and we were told that the scarce supply is due to logistics issues which according to them are being resolved. So these queues will soon be off because they assured us that they have enough supply.

“You know NNPCL is the sole importer of the fuel; we don’t produce in the country so they buy from outside the country and it goes through a process. So this is just a logistics issue. So please there is no need for panic buying. We will soon have petrol everywhere,” he said.

The secretary general of Petroleum Dealers Association of Nigeria (PEDAN), Ibrahim Yahaya, told Eyes Of Lagos he could not point to any genuine reason for the current situation.

Yahaya said he learnt earlier about agitation by tanker drivers for upward review of haulage cost.

“I will probably link this to demand by the National Association of Road Transport Owners, NARTO, asking for a hike in haulage cost. In some cases you find filling stations deliberately shutting down while they have products while some will be operating with few pumps. All these I believe are pushing for much profiteering. But when Dangote Refinery begins to pump petrol into the system we will have respite,” he said.

Last week the NNPC Limited said tight supply witnessed in some filling stations in Lagos was as a result of an issue in one of the depots in the area. The NNPC Retail Limited has since resolved the issue and effective tomorrow, normalcy will be restored within the affected area, Soneye said.

The NNPC Limited, during the period, called on motorists in Lagos to avoid panic buying of PMS as all hands are on deck to sustain sufficiency in the supply of petroleum products in the area.

In the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, long queues also resurfaced in filling stations across as our correspondent observed that filling stations in the territory were selling fuel at between N660 and N724 per litre.

At Conoil filling station in the central area close to NNPCL, the filling station was discovered to be selling fuel at N660, and the queue was so long that motorists waited for hours before they could get fuel.

Also, at A. A. Rano filling stations at Jabi, and along Kubwa express road, which were selling at N690 per litre, the queues were not as long as that of Conoil which was selling at N660 per litre.

A new mega filling station in Kubwa known as Abanurat filling station was selling at N724 per litre, and despite the increase in the price, motorists were seen waiting patiently to buy fuel in their cars, while Rainoil filling stations both in the city centre and Dutse axis of Abuja were selling at the rate of N685 per litre.

It was also observed that major filling stations like Shafar, Conoil, Asman, Mobile and Total filling stations from AYA down to Kubwa express road were under lock and key; they were not selling fuel to motorists.

In Kaduna, particularly within the metropolis, most of the fuelling stations are closed for lack of fuel, or the operators were hoarding in order to sell to at back marketer while the few ones that were open had long queues of motorists waiting to purchase the product.

Some of the fuel stations sold for between N690 and N700 per litre while in some fuel stations the product sold for as much as N1,000 per litre.

At the AA Rano fueling stations at Command Junction and Station market Roundabout, motorists lined up waiting for the officials to commence dispensing the product.

A taxi driver, Kenneth Adams of Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway Bypass said: “It’s really frustrating to do transport business now. I just bought a litre of black market fuel at N1,000. One has to look for an open fueling station with fuel and join the queue for almost one to two hours before one can get fuel. The authorities should look into this fuel scarcity issue because it is not funny at all.”

Some of the fuel stations in Kaduna metropolis were shut since Monday causing commercial Bus drivers and tricycle operators to hike transportation fare.

A bus driver, who identified himself as Abdul, disclosed that on Wednesday he bought the product at N900 and N1,000 per litre at the black market when he observed that some of the fuel stations were shut.

A passenger at command junction expressed joy that transport fare to Abuja was still what it used to be and expressed hope that the fuel scarcity being experienced now will be addressed holistically.

In Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, the pump price of petrol varied according to how each marketer bought the commodity. While some filling stations sold fuel at between N720 and N780 per litre, others sold at N800 as against the previous weeks when fuel was sold at between N680 and N730.

Our checks revealed that the NNPC retail outlets in the state that would have given succour to motorists with their selling price of N637 were all shut.

our reports from one of the filling stations why the sudden increase, the manager who craved anonymity said the pump price was previously N730 per litre, but after exhausting the old commodity, they could not get fuel until the present one they bought at N740 per litre, hence they are selling at N780 per litre.

Our correspondent reports that notwithstanding the differences in the pump prices at various filling stations, no significant queue was witnessed at the stations selling cheaper, which some motorists attributed to hardship and residents parking their vehicles over persistent rising pump price.

Also, fuel queues resurfaced in some Kano filling stations as some of them have remained closed in the last two days. Most of the vehicles on the road were commercial vehicles.

The price per litre of petrol is not fixed as it ranged from N690 to N730, while it sold for about N800 or more by black marketers who are rapidly resurfacing in the city.

The unofficial story is that the fuel stations are expecting a fall in the price of the product but are not sure of the exact price. They wouldn’t want to purchase it and the price be reduced to avoid loss.

In Enugu, our correspondent who went round Enugu city discovered that major distributors were selling fuel at N600 per litre at their various filling stations

Our Friday’s investigations also revealed that other filling stations not owned by major distributors are selling fuel at between N680 and N720 per litre.

Our correspondent sighted long queues at the filling stations selling fuel at N600 per litre, a development that partially paralyzed vehicular movements in the areas.

In Ibadan, Oyo State capital, the price of PmS was between N630 and N640 per litre.

There was little or no queue in most of the petrol stations.

Also, the cost of transportation was unchanged

The price of petrol in Imo State has remained consistent at N650 since the introduction of the new pump price by the current leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

Almost all filling stations in the state had the product and there were no queues in the various stations. This could be attributed to the exorbitant price of petrol.

In Dutse, the capital, and other part of Jigawa State, only few filling stations were open and sold at the coast of ₦750 to ₦775 per litre.

At the NNPC mega station in Dutse capital the pump price remained ₦620.

The fuel scarcity and increase in pump rice seemed to have dashed the hope of better days promised by government; rather the situation is becoming more difficult for them.

Civil servants lamented the daily increase in the cost of living while salary remains unchanged, described the situation as a plot to undermine public service.

A senior civil servant in Jigawa State, Alhaji Musa Saudi, faulted the National Economic Policy as responsible for the deteriorating the situation.

“There is no country that can survive on palliative economy which Nigeria is currently operating,” he declared.

In Katsina State, Independent market filling stations are selling fuel at the rate of N815, N780, N760 and N700, while the NNPCL sold at 620 per litre.
