I have so many things in mind, but let me pause for now. I know that some people will leave the content of my post and start to attack me, calling me afonja. It doesn’t change the fact that am a full blooded Igbo. And I want to believe that those agitating for breakup have not really traveled to other regions to see what the SE is lacking and to see how the Igbos are in every corner of Nigeria. 5 Likes |

Have you asked yourself why there is no much foreign company in SE apart from NB plc? How come multinationals don’t invest in SE. Check out the number of company in SW n NW. What is the SE lacking? How come, most Igbos prefers to invest and build huge houses outside of SE? How come there is a massive emigration of Igbos from the SE than there are immigration from other regions? Someone once said that the number of rich Igbos leaving outside the SE are much more than the number leaving in SE. What is it that is chasing people out of SE? 3 Likes 1 Share |

Have you ever taken the statistics of the number of Igbos schooling in universities outside the SE. Have any of you ever noticed that when you go to FG schools and some states schools outside the SE, you find quite a number of Igbo students, but when you check that of SE schools, you discover that the number of “non SE” students there is just handful. Now the question is how you guys intend to manage the enormous number of secondary school graduates that gets churned out every year, considering the fact that there are only about 15 universities in the SE. Also, have you guys ever wondered why the fees of FG and state higher institution in the SE are way higher than that of other region? Are they not receiving the same allocation? 5 Likes 1 Share |

Will there even be any change. I think the real enemy to the Igbo race is their leaders. The keep shouting marginalization while their leaders keeps mum and enjoy the wealth of the nation. Why can’t they hold their leaders accountable? I have been to most states in the north, and it’s surprising to see states like Katsina, Jigawa, Dutse, Gombe and co with full functioning international airport mostly used during hajj. These airports where built using state funds. How come SE leaders can’t build such, despite the fact that the Igbos are the ones that travel the most in Nigeria? Even with the little allocation some northern states receive from FG, they have been able to build and develop their states. How come the SE and SS leaders couldn’t do same? Imagine the huge allocation of Bayelsa, despite its small size, there is nothing to write home abt it. Take a look at Delta State, same can be said. Its only Akwa Ibom and Cross River that I can give a pass mark. 10 Likes 1 Share |

If you eventually break away with the current Biafran map, then south Sudan will repeat itself in the SE. And the two factions will be Igbos on one side, then the other tribes on the other. The Igbos with their dominance and “developing” nature will dominate everywhere in Biafra, and this won’t go down well with other tribes. We all know what this could result into. Just like the case in Bayelsa. Except you are trying to break away with just the 5 eastern states, which to me is a suicide mission. 6 Likes 1 Share |

How do you intend to employ and feed all the Igbos that will return to SE once Biafra has been actualized? Wch among the 5 states in the east can survive without FG allocation. So, how will the state of Biafra employ and pay these people. Have it occurred to you guys that there are a lot of Igbo in the federal civil service. There are quite a number of Igbos working in other state govt outside the SE. Virtually every higher institution in the north have an Igbo man lecturing or working there, same with hospitals and some other institutions. These does not include the once who are into business. It’s obvious that if we break, people from other region would not want us to still remain there. So, how do you intend to cater for the Igbo business owners that will return home? Have any of you ever gone to the major markets in the north. From Suleja to Wuse, to Sokoto, Kebbi, Kano, Funtua, Zaria, Kaduna… All these states have a very large population of Igbos doing business there. How do u intend to take care of them or provide alternative means for them? 13 Likes 1 Share |

Romance / Dear Romancelanders, Am I Over Reacting. by AltarBoy1: 12:04pm On Jul 04, 2017 |
Let me go straight to the point... I met this girl in the market, we exchanged contact and started talking. She seem beautiful and lovely, so I was always eager to see or hear from her. So, the first day we went out, I picked a restaurant where I normally take my dinner. The place is so cool and quiet, so I figured out that it could be nice for both of us to spend some quite time. But unfortunately, by the time we got there, their food wasn't ready due to the fact that we arrived early. (She doesn't want to go out late). As a result, all we ordered for was just "samosa" and pet coke. After our outing, I then concluded that am going to take things serious with her, cos from our discussion so far, she is my type of girl. But then something happened. From that day onwards, she kept complaining of how I took her to a place where she ate only samosa and drank coke, that if I do that again, that she will pour it on my face. "Her exact words". I used to take it as a joke until a friend of mine who is a cousin to her friend told me that what she used to call me in the presence of her friends is the "samosa guy". That I claim to be a worker but all I can buy for a girl is samosa. I got so annoyed to the extent that the little feeling I was having for her died off. Now, for the past 3 weeks, esp during the long Sallah break, she have been calling me and complaining that I don't want to take her out anymore, that it's unlike me that was eager to take her out when we first started. Today, there is public holiday in Kano, she called me in the morning, asking me if I can spare some time so we can go to the cinema. I declined, told her I wasn't feeling too well. I don't feel like taking her out to any where again as I have lost feelings for her. So, there is no need wasting my time with her. I haven't told her anything at the initial, so no need telling her am pulling out of the little thing we have going on. Plz, am I over reacting. |

Let me stop here for now in other not to bore you with long post, but from my own stand point, I don’t think this policy is friendly to our present situation. And plz, mk nobody tell me say cashless will help stop movement of cash by politicians as that is not true. My reason is that, when someone steals money and wants the cash, I don’t think he will mind the charges since he did not sweat for the money. I stand to be corrected, but can someone plz tell me the advantage of this cashless policy to the average Nigerian. |

3.) Increase in electronic fraud: - We all know how our country is, we know the extent online scammers go in trying to get your “cashless aided transaction” devices and details. I believe they will be having a field day in scamming people when the cashless start since there will be an increase in cashless transaction in which some of the bearers/initiators are new into the system. 4.) Loss of jobs:- imagine how our banking hall will look like when the volume of cash that normally flows into the bank on a daily basis have been reduced by 70-80%.... this means that some banks might not need much front office staff since they will basically be doing nothing. Now, also look at company reps whose sole duty is to collect cash from distributors and pay into the account of their corresponding company. What do you think will happen to such reps when the policy is up, cos the max amount you can pay into a company per day is #3M as against the millions of naira that flow into the account of all these big companies by cash deposit. 5.) Negatively impact on some banks:- Some banks in Nigeria are only surviving on the funds of individuals as they do not have much account that belongs to big company that can boost their deposit base. Now, when those individuals starts to hoard their cash in other to avoid charges, the bank will seriously have a reduction in their deposit base. I think we all know what that means. |

Without much explanation, let’s take a look at the effects of this policy on the average Nigeria and the economy. 1) Unavailability of network in some rural areas of the country:- It will surprise some of you to know that some states have heavy markets that transact on cash. Now, tell me how those traders will survive. Imagine someone coming from the town to one of those village market to make purchases. He doesn’t have a particular customer that he buys from, as he will have to price and get the best value, so he can’t necessary make transfer to the seller before he comes. Now, on reaching the village, he makes a purchase of say #600k. How will he pay the seller? When there is no bank close by or mobile network to make transfer either using mobile banking or USSD. Mind, POS also work with mobile network/GPRS. There are a lot of such markets in Nigeria, go to Katsina, Zamfara, Jigawa, Kano and even Enugu, you will see heavy markets where millions of naira is transacted on daily basis and in those areas, you hardly find banks or even network to make transfer. There is this cattle market in Wudil, Kano state. Even though the town is developed a little, there is just one bank there. How then do you think the buyers and sellers will settle each other? 2.) Increased insecurity: - When the policy is now fully in place, some business men that deal on raw cash might start to keep their cash at home or shops in other to avoid bank charges, and you know the result when the bad guys know you are keeping money with you. Those of you in support of this think that everywhere is like Lagos where everyone is exposed and have either an ATM or have a mobile phone that can perform banking activities. |

I seem not to understand what this government is up to. At a time when the government ought to be making laws and policy that will create employment, they are making laws that will put more people into “unemployment” status. Or rather, making laws that will enrich the few elites at the expense of the poor masses. Did the CBN and banking committee actually think things through before deciding to put this law in place or are they doing this just for their own personal interest, because the revenue from the charges is been shared between CBN and the Banks. Maybe somebody can help me out, but after so many researches based on the setting of the Nigerian cash flow, the Nigerian Bank/branches distribution and the availability of mobile network across the nation, am yet to see the advantage of this cashless policy. |
