I recently got a job in one of the leading banks in Nigeria as a cash and teller officer. Am to resume at my branch by Monday next week.

Now, after I told some of my friends and relations abt it, they were like as a C&T, that I can't escape not running into shortages which I have to pay from my account. So am just wondering, what is the best way to avoid it. Even a friend that is working in diamond Bank told me same thing.

Plz, I really need advice from experience hand. I dont want to mk such mistake for the time frame that I won't to be in this bank. Plz is there any way to maintain a clean record on this.

Job Description

1. Implement the Business model of the Hybrid solutions to B to B customers.
2. Offer solar hybrid solutions to Industrial customers - Telecom, Banks etx.
3. Design of hybrid solutions for industrial customers
4. Implementation and project management of stations turnkey solarization projects for 200 stations.
5. Identify and analyze new project opportunities.
6. Collaborate with the Sales team (GTEs) to maximize lead generation efforts and strategies.
7. Takes responsibility for Project controlling.
8. Develop and initiate strategic input to the business and support ongoing business initiatives
9. Responsible for the management of customer service, relationships and contracts.
10. Maintain a good knowledge of the solar market, competitor's activities and report best practices.
11. Manage all solar O&M activities in designated project portfolio to maximize system performance
12. Manage multiple solar sites and contractors.

Candidate profile

First degree in electrical engineering. Certification in Renewable Energy (Solar) and Project
Management will be an added advantage
A minimum of 2 years experience in Solar Hybrid solutions.
Good analytical, interpersonal and communication skill

As regards to the fear, it is normal.

However, don't allow this to overshadow you once you resume work otherwise, it will affect your KPI thereby making you not to LAST in the job. I am not wishing you bad luck but talking from experience.

After my service year, I stayed 2 and half years doing business before getting the job am currently in now. We were 12 they employed. one resigned the next day with silly excuse. one resigned again after receipt of one month salary. Three were exited because their work were not impressive enough.

In a nut shell, we are Three in my set remaining and I am two years now with the bank. In fact, what I have learnt in the bank can land me a bigger offer in future. Though it's a contract but the pay is between 78K to 90K. The contract is renewable after a year based on your KPI. I have bagged two professional certification.

The 9 colleagues LOST their job to FEAR!

Though, it's very normal to be afraid when you are taking up a new challenge and after one month, the fear MUST leave you, that happened to me too.

However, if after one month you are still afraid or jittery, then I will advise you quietly resign it's better than being noticed and exited, because one month is enough to get used with your new work environment and colleagues unless if you are the type that does not socialise with people.

If you can find a way of doing your biz and still working at the bank. It would be a nice thing. Find someone 'n put in your shop and then start that your bank Job. The person would be accounting on daily, weekly or monthly bases.

I don't think the feeling am having ryt now have anything to do with my method of job application. Fear no dey catch me to apply for job, both online and offline, no b my fear mk recruiters no send me success mail after taking test/interview. So, wch angle are you speaking from.

I don't knw why some people like hating on others. I just expressed how I feel and all you can come up with is that am lazy. FYI, let's just assume the exchange rate didn't go kaboom and with a little capital added to business, I would have been making a profit of 3/4 of what the bank is going to pay me.

Am pretty sure that my strange feeling is emanating from the fact that I am abt loosing grip of a biz I built from the scratch.

Those that have seen some of my thread, will know that I have really came a long way in this issue of unemployment.


I believe say, if you just type sample of CV for Google, my own CV go show, cos I don submit am to all the submittable. Some of which I go negative reply, some nothing. Being a job seeker isn't easy at all, esp wen you have nothing doing.
Thank God for the little biscuit business that I started middle last year, even though the profit us low, it kept me frm begging for recharge card money.

Just yesterday, I got a call frm the HR of a bank that I did interview with to come resume by 1st week of marcha. Since then, instead of being happy and excited, I am just restless and having a strong awkward feeling about it. Something in me is like tryn to discourage me. I don't knw if this is normal, or is it cos of all the thing ngs I hear about banking industry.

Some pple are better off wrking a corporate settings. Some pple cant do business, hence, they try to get a job by all means. Some, prefer to be their own boss, but no start up fund. If I have enough capital, I wont even contemplate to join the banking industry wch I just succeeding in landing a job in one of the new generation banks. Though am yet to resume.

Most Pentecostal Churches will always attribute catholic teaching and celebrations to paganism.

But yet, they see nothing wrong in celebrating Feb 14, a day set aside by catholic church to honor St Valentine, who was a third century catholic bishop. Let me not even point out some catholic traditions that they adhere to, such as Christmas, Easter, Sunday worship and the rest of them. Yet they keep shouting paganism without knowing that they too are adherence to the tradition. Talk of someone shooting himself in the foot while trying to attack another person.



They always complain when Catholics use Rev. Fr as a title for their clergy, but see nothing wrong in calling theirs daddy. Nigerian brand of Christianity is something else.
