Oziens: What’s wrong with the date? That’s a standard letter that would be given to everybody that makes enquiry about the matter. That is why it is addressed to “To Whom it may concern”. That same letter was given to Kperogi and so many others who have made enquiry at the university. Arise could as well written to the university or send a journalist to authenticate the letter instead of raising senseless issues like date. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Those sacked are young men and women from Osun state. They are poor folks who want a better life and a chance to serve their state irrespective of the party in government. Adeleke promised to better their lots. He promised to be a governor to all. Is this what he promised them? Will sacking them improve the economic situation of the state? Osun people, it is well with you all. 1 Like |

Rufai Oseni must be the most stupid human being to ever appear on TV. Like, how can someone with half a brain ask such a senseless question? Is he expecting Chicago state university to write a new letter for every David, Aisha and Emeka that visits the school looking for Bola Tinubu? That is a standard letter that would be giving to everyone making enquiries about Bola Tinubu. If I go there today to make same enquiry, they will give me the same letter. Rufai and his fellow Obi supporters really need to stop disgracing Nigeria with this kind of embarrassing question. 21 Likes 4 Shares |

ElSudani: Inexperience, vendetta and stupidity. A sensible administrator would first consolidate and bring many people as possible to his side instead of fighting everybody. He has made enemies out of NURTW leadership, Traditional rulers, top civil servants and members of the state house of assembly in just 24 hours in office. Anyway, we are here to watch as the drama unfolds. Osun will definitely be in the news almost daily for the next four years for no good reason. 245 Likes 20 Shares |

We are going back to $15k because of the Binance fud and blockfi filling for bankruptcy. Those who have short the market are the ones behind all the unnecessary fud. Crypto really needs regulation at this point. Too much manipulation of the market. 1 Like |

The planning, design and how to raise the needed finance have been ongoing since the Tinubu administration. Gigantic projects like this don’t happen overnight. ganisucks: A lot of former US governors are in the senate. Mitt Romney for example was a governor and a Republican nominee for president. After losing to Barack Obama, he contested for senate and won. So you see, our politicians are actually copying US politicians. Oshiomole will win the Edo north senatorial election easily. Shaibu and Alimikhena are simply wasting their time and money. Nobody can defeat Oshiomhole in Edo north. 1 Like |

It is a good sign that Lagos is the only city in Nigeria worthy enough to be ranked among the top 60 cities in the world. Those doing the ranking don’t even consider Awka, Enugu, Onitsha etc as cities. They are all villages not worthy of mention. Yes, Lagos is not there yet but it is no longer where it used to be. It is now among the recognized mega cities of the world and the fifth largest economy in Africa. If you don’t like Lagos, tell your folks to stop coming to Lagos. Stay back in your cities and leave Lagos alone. 4 Likes 1 Share |

ENGINEERG: Good governance. All we want is a Nigeria that is working for everybody irrespective of ethnicity and religion. Lagos is the best governed state in Nigeria today because of the quality leadership of Tinubu. We need him to replicate the same leadership at the centre so that all Nigerians can benefit and not just Lagos state. We want him to create opportunities in every state so that Anambra people for example can stay back in Anambra instead of rushing to Lagos for get-out-of-poverty opportunities. Hope you get? 7 Likes 2 Shares |

OlujobaSamuel: No sensible person will compare the clueless and extremely corrupt Jonathan to a brilliant and prudent financial manager like Oyetola. Jonathan became president at the height of Nigeria’s oil boom. He inherited a country free of debt and with oil production and price at the highest ever. At the end of the day, he had absolutely nothing to show for it other than huge debt and abandoned projects. Oyetola on the other hand inherited a dysfunctional state with over N200billion debt, months of unpaid workers salaries, religious crisis and huge debt to contractors. In addition, he was governor at the worst period of time in terms of revenue from federation account and covid-19 pandemic. Despite all the above challenges, he paid N97billion outbid the debt he inherited and did not take a single kobo as loan. He cleared all the workers salaries and still left over N14billion for the incoming administration. He also resolved the socio-religious problems that Rauf created. Just recently, world bank maned him the best governor in Nigeria in terms of prudent management of state finances. So, how’s Oyetola and Jonathan the same thing? Make it make sense. 58 Likes 7 Shares |
Politics / Re: Oyetola: I Leave Behind ₦14 Billion Cash, Paid ₦97b Debt Without Borrowing by ALTERNATEID: 7:34am On Nov 27, 2022 |
For four years, we did not take any bank loan facility. But we benefitted from the N3billion monthly intervention from the federal Government to all the States for six months to cushion the effect of deductions of budget support facility and salary bailout accessed by the previous administration, just as we have paid N97 billion from the total debt we inherited in 2018. Oyetola is the best governor in recent years in Nigeria looking at the way he managed the extremely poor finances of Osun state. Aregbesola accumulated so much debt and still couldn’t pay workers salaries. Oyetola did not borrow a dime, paid back some of the Aregbe debt, paid workers as at when due, did some capital projects and still left money behind for the incoming administration. Sadly, any governor that is prudent with state resources is not always popular with the people. We prefer the governor that accumulates huge debt and share everything to political cronies and state elites. In the next four years, we shall be here God willing to do a postmortem of the Ade Dancer administration. Hopefully, President Bola Tinubu will take this guy to Abuja as Finance minister next year. He’s an excellent financial manager. We need folks like him to manage the finances of this country in this period. Posterity will be very kind to him. 244 Likes 28 Shares |
