Today, HTC reported that its April revenues have taken a plunge by around 38.6 percent every year. Following the same, the analysts have started blaming the One M9 claiming that its sales have been disappointing.Notably, the April revenue figure is the worst that HTC has ever reported in the past six years. HTC made $439.95 million revenue in April that is significantly low from the revenue of $719.24 million that the firm generated in April 2014. Also, the same dropped by 32.26 percent in comparison to the revenue it generated in March this year accounting to $652.44 million.
An analyst tolling for Yuanta Securities Investment Consulting Co. claimed that the shipments of the One M9 flagship smartphone totaled to 4.75 million units in the month of April. It is claimed that this is a steep decline from the 8 million units of One M8 shipped in April last year and 35.71 percent decline in the sales than the 7 million units of sales of the One M7 in April 2013.
It is likely that the firm might increase its revenues in May with the launch of the One M9+ and One E9+ smartphones in the Chinese market. The analyst also claimed that HTC might have undervalued the speculations tipping the impact of the usage of the Snapdragon 810 chipset on the sales of the One M9. The chipset made the phone prone to overheating leading to poor reviews and unwillingness of carriers to stock the phone.
Samsung, on the other hand, used its in-house Exynos 7420 chipset for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones. These devices are the best sellers and they might create a record in the Galaxy S shipments. An executive of Samsung allegedly stated that the firm is expecting to sell 70 million units of these two models.HTC is expecting to report $1.5 billion to $1.7 billion revenue in the second quarter, but a KGI Bank analyst stated that HTC will have to struggle to reach even the low end of this range.

Samsung and Marvel entered into partnership and they came up with Avenger styled themes that were launched in the Galaxy S6 Theme Store. Now, there is information from South Korea claiming that Samsung will soon leverage its partnership in new ways.

As per the South Korean press, the manufacturer’s Mobile Marketing Chief, Lee Young-hee has confirmed that the firm will be launching an Iron Man edition of its latest flagship smartphone duo. This announcement seems to be in line with the release date of the movie Avengers: Age of Ultron.


Though nothing is known about the exact plan that Samsung has in mind, the firm did mention that the limited edition model will be red in color. This means that the color red will play a major role in the design of the device. Hopefully, the device will look flashy and attractive as the fan-made concepts of the wireless chargers for Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.The Galaxy S6 Iron Man Edition is likely to hit the market in June. Though it will be released a month after the release of the movie, there is something that will be launched.

iPhone 6's camera has 8 megapixels and the Galaxy S6's has 16, but they take pictures with similar sharpness and clarity. So why does that happen?
It's understandable that most people think higher megapixel counts lead to better pictures. Megapixels have been the main point of measurement smartphone manufacturers use to tell people how good their mobile device cameras are.

Theoretically, more pixels should make a sharper image, similar to how more tiles make a more detailed mosaic, but that's not exactly the case.Pixels rest on your camera's sensor to capture light.

Facebook Inc is launching an open platform for online content and application developers to join its Internet.org service, in a move the social media giant said would boost efforts to get people online in low-income and rural areas in emerging markets.



The platform, unveiled on Monday, will be open to all developers who meet certain guidelines, including content being built for browsing on both feature and smartphones and in limited bandwidth scenarios, the company said in a statement.

The move comes amid growing debate in India, home to the world's third-largest population of Internet users, over free access and net neutrality in the country.Facebook partnered with Reliance Communications to launch Internet.org in India in February.


But a number of e-commerce firms and content developers pulled out of the service subsequently as activists claimed it violated principles of net neutrality — the concept that all websites on the internet are treated equally."We've heard the debate about net neutrality in India and have been tracking it," Chris Daniels, vice president of product for Internet.org, told Reuters."The principles of neutrality must co-exist with programs that also encourage bringing people online," Daniels said, highlighting that Internet.org was open to mobile operators and involved no payments, either to or from the developers.Facebook has launched the service in nine countries, including in India, bringing over 8 million people online, said Daniels, who was in India to speak with partners and operators.The Internet.org application offers free access to basic internet services on mobile phones, as well as access to Facebook's own social network and messaging services.

Root Xperia Z Ultra after Lollipop update 14.5.A.0.242


With the New Ansdroid OS, Sony released the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Xperia Z Ultra, fondly called XZU, a few days back. If you accepted the OTA, it meant your device was upgraded to Lollipop but you lost root access. Well, we’re sure you’d want to root your Xperia Z Ultra back, on Lollipop, and the good news is that you achieve that easily.

Using the Doomlord’s famous DooMKernel, you can boot into TWRP recovery and root your device effortlessly. Check out below.

Things you need:

This method was tested on the Lollipop update version 14.5.A.0.242, on model no. C6802. It could work very well on other models of Z Ultra, but not GPe edition of the device because it has different variant of DooMKernel.

Get These Downloads

The Guide

1. Copy the SuperSU beta file to your Z Ultra and remember where you put it.

2. Download and install ADB on your Windows PC.

3. Download and install Sony drivers.

4. Enable USB debugging:
** Go to Settings – About phone. Tap build no 7 times.
** Go back to Settings, scroll down and locate Developer options, tap on it.
** Locate USB Debugging and tap on checkbox to enable it.
Tap on OK to confirm when you see pop-up.

5. Connect your Xperia Z Ultra to PC. Accept connection on your device about USB debussing when a pop-up shows up, could take some time, maximum two minutes.

6. Extract the DooMKernel v22 file you downloaded from above. You’ll get boot.img from it.

7. Go to folder where you have the boot.img

8. Open command window. Left click on empty white space inside the folder first. Then do a shift+right click to get a pop-up, and from there, select open command window here.

9. A cmd window will open up, with destination set to folder where you have the boot.img. This is important to have.

10. Boot Z Ultra into fastboot mode. With the device still connected to PC, type the below in command prompt window and then hit enter key.



11. You’ll see the blue LED light on the Z Ultra. This confirm you are in fastboot mode.

12. Boot into TWRP recovery. Yes, you can do that without installing it first. Here’s how. Type the below command and then hit enter key




13. The fastboot will use the boot.img from your PC’s folder to boot itself into recovery mode, and will open up the TWRP recovery for you for this single time, because we asked it to do so in our command above.

14. [Recommended] It’s optional but we would say at this point that you create a full backup of your phone, a mirror image, right now using the TWRP recovery. Tap on Backup option for this and do the backup first. IT’s life-save to have a backup from recovery.

15. Flash SuperSU file to root your Xperia Z Ultra. Come back to main screen and tap on Install, and then select the SuperSU beta file you transferred in step 1 now. Do the ‘Swipe to Confirm Flash’ to confirm flashing.

16. Once done, go back to main screen of TWRP and tap on Reboot, and then on System.

17. That’s it. Your Z Ultra will be rooted and will have stock kernel and recovery in place of custom one. So will get OTA updates too without any worries.
