sonnie10:In as much as I understand your points; I believe it will be more appropriate to only comment, ask questions and learn from Spyder but not to "attach" our personal ongoing project to this thread. whyteboyzo3 can reference and inform people about his own thread citing ideas he got from spyder, share picture and progress of his ongoing project there. Yes Spyder is a humble, easy going, intelligent man,who shares ideas and knowledge with everyone, but we should apply wisdom, respect and not "take advantage" of all of these, loosing sight of due process. He only took a break and will commence activities on his personal project; it could confuse, mislead or even make him uncomfortable seeing pictures or responses etc attached to his ongoing project which might have been intended for whyteboyz03's project. Whyteboyz03 can paste a link of his project and we will gladly visit and follow his progress.I don't comment much but feel I should point this out. I apologize if my comment offends anyone. |
spyder880:Ride on bro, Reward of Sincerity and hardwork. God is with you. |
spyder880:Good job oga spyder; I have a question. Looking at your structure and Responce; We are about moulding 9 inch blocks that will be used from dpc to lintel level/ of our duplex; thereafter use it from decking to roofing. We have decided to mould 30 blocks per bag of cement as you did, as against 40 blocks per bag that was done and used in completing the foundation to German floor. Will there be any negative impact on the building due to the variation of the blocks. ( I understand we shouldn't have gone up to 40 blocks per bag; it's been done and regretted anyway). My concern is if it will affect the buding ( foundation) using the more stronger and I believe could be heavier blocks we will make now to use from dpc level,as against the one moulded 40 per bag already used. Thanks |

Anyone know the prize of iron stones at owerri, Aba or Port Harcourt. 1 tipper.
|
spyder880:Thanks for your response. |
spyder880:Oga Spyder, You have been a great inspiration to us. I am having similar duplex (4 bedroom) built for me. My question is, If iron stones (Like These ones you posted on the thread) are used for dpc, casting of pillars, Decking etc instead of granite, wont i have a solid house ?. I am not trying to economize selfishly; but wondered if it wont have same effects on a building like granite do, even as it saves cost overall. in addition, how much can i get a tipper of the iron stones in Aba/PH. Any contacts?.

mufutau55:Oga Hajj, I have asked this question to ihebrook s and oga spyder nobody want answer me. I don't know what sin I have committed. Abeg, from your experience and estimate, approximately how many 6 inches block do I need to fence a plot of land 90ft by 70. ( Regular fence height of a storey building). Is it better to buy blocks or to engage molders. |
spyder880:Oga Spyder, From your experience and estimate, approximately how many 6 inches block do I need to fence a plot of land 90ft by 70. ( Regular fence height of a storey building). Is it better to buy blocks or to engage molders. |
ihebrooke:It is 90ft by 70. The courses will be "normal", meaning it won't be above regular height of fence for one storey residential building. ( 3 bedroom down and 4 bedroom up). I underst the word "normal" is relative, I am counting on everyone's idea from experience. |
ihebrooke:Oga, more grease to your elbow. How many blocks do I need to fence a full plot of land (regular height, all round and a gate.) |
