Good day friends, trust we are doing great? I pray may God grant all our heart desires. I need some clarification on my SEVIS and it has been disturbing me. I don't want the SEVIS to be my stumbling block.

I paid my SEVIS fee in December 2019 with the hope of using it in august 2020 but was unable to due to covid, so i differed my admission till this year. In Jan this year, the ISSI coordinator in my school told me that I don't need to pay a new SEVIS fee that she has updated my SEVIS record. But I just learnt that SEVIS is for a year last week. I have been issued my i20 with the old SEVIS number so I don't know what to do now? Will I pay a new SEVIS fee and inform the school? How about my i20? Please help me O. I am on my knees. I am about to secure a date. Anybody with suggestion or similar experience? Thanks in anticipation.

I need to clarify an issue please. I paid my visa fee last year Nov with the hope of resuming in dec but couldn't get a date in lagos so I changed the location to abuja but couldn't still secure a date so I differed to fall. I recently got a date in april in abuja but I want choose Lagos now. But I know i must cancel the abuja appointment before I can choose Lagos. My question now: Is my Visa fee still valid if I cancel the appointment or will i have to pay another visa fee? Thanks a lot.

Beautiful people of Nairaland. A friend directed me here. So I got admitted to MS&T and a few weeks ago, went for visa interview. Unfortunately, I was rejected. I asked for advice then but people were like, just be confident but apperantly, that didn't work.
I have re-applied and my interview date is on the 23rd so this time I want to be super prepared.
Some things to note: My other interview was rejected on the basis of "strong ties" but I had an employee verification letter and an attestation letter from my father's company to return to work there after my masters.
The CO never looked at the documents. In fact he never looked at my financial statements or any other docs apart from my I-20.
He asked me a total of about four questions before giving me the dreaded green slip last time.
Please I need proper advice for the second interview

I am actually at my wits end now. I was denied a few weeks back and I have not been able to get a new date up till now. My earliest appointment date is march and my school resumes in Jan. What can I do? Has anyone previously denied been able to get a new date? I even called the embassy and was told to keep checking. Am just down now. Kindly advise plssss.

If am asked by the VO ' why this school'? In addition to explaining how the course align with my interest coupled can I also say the school was recommended to me by a colleague at work since he was an alumni?

This is a life changing opportunity and I believe you don't wanna loose it. I would advise that you take mufty to work and change towards your interview time.

You have to dress for the occasion. Kindly look for alternatives. You can change to mufti somewhere close to the embassy. Go along with a bag where you can keep your clothes. Just have 1k or so to give those people outside the embassy to help you keep your bag.

Been following this thread for sometime and I can say you guys are really doing a wonderful job. I have really learnt a lot on this thread. I have a question that needs an urgent answer please.

I hope to attend my interview soon but my main problem is that i am a security personnel and will be attending the interview from work and in my uniform since its around 12pm. My question is don't you think the uniform may work against me during the interview? I would have gone to change to mufti but that may not be possible since am at work.

Pls kindly enlighten me. I applied for F1 visa for fall 2019 in a school but wasn't successful. I applied this year fall again but the school said there is no need to pay a new SEVIS fee that they will update my record. So it was updated so I can use it for spring 2021. As it so, it means I didn't pay for this sevis fee. My old one was just transferred by the school and I paid it in april 2019. Hope the VO won't query me that I did not pay a new sevis fee although the sevis fee no has been placed on my new i20 for spring 2021. Kindly reply ASAP.
