The only way to quench this agitations is payment of stipends. I condemn the killings of unharmed protesters by the JTF and it saddens me to see that young lady in her pool of blood cry It's no news that the southeast is the poorest and least educated region in southern Nigeria and this made it possible for Kanu to recruit the idle minds into his biafra project through illegal and treasonable broadcasts on Radio biafra. Years of neglect and aftermath of the civil war, marginalization, irresponsible visionless governors and political miscalculations has indeed cost the south east the needed development. The result of their backwardness is the current time bomb called IPOB. They are a bunch of frustrated angry youths who have given up on life and see no reason to be patriotic to Nigeria due to their economic predicaments. Nnamdi Kanu capitalized on their single line of thoughts and vulnerability to manipulate them via hate speeches and his criminal broad casts.

What i feel the FG should implement now is the payment of the N5000 in the southeast region so as to make the youths happy and convince them further that they have a listening government. The money will go a long way in helping a lot of poor igbos who have given up on life. Secondly the FG should expedite the trial of Kanu and give him the desired punishments for his treasonable offences. If all these can be achieved, the biafran dream will be conquered and we can all live together as one Nigeria.

not only to SE.
they should also pay we river ppl 5k.
I go just chop am clean mouth and still vote yes to Biafra

We can't even defend our own --- from language to culture and traditions, now in some parts of the Igboland, the Ezes and igwes bow to greet the governors, they are even summoned to meetings and will have to be there on time and wait, failure to show complacence the staff of office will be taken from you...you can never see that in yoruba land or in the hausa land...make I hear say amosun dey stand before oba of lagos when him never prostrate first in greetings and to recieve blessings...just say the Oba of lagos cough during the election, we all say what happened...that kind thing go hard for igboland now oh...ugbua a n'echizi eze echi...anaghizi amu eze amu. If u know a newly wedded couple that actually drank the same palmwine that the lady went about in the midst of the attendees with...pls holla!!! Now once the lady gets to her man, they pour away the drink and put in a fresh one...reason: them dey avoid juju tins and poison things, no one trusts no one. I dey even go far, most igbo people will tell u, if u see an mbaise man and a snake, kill the mbaise man first before the snake...we all know why, abi? But is that meant to be...how could u all call urself one when in we are far from being one?
Nowadays, rich kids intimidate the poor ones with english language...the poor igbo kid is made to understand that his school is poor cos they allow him to speak igbo.
No be bauchi governor approve 55m for the state's Quranic recitation competition...now who go approve 500k for bible competitions? Lol, Even the schools owned by churches in this place collect higher fees than the normal schools.
I am not fighting anyone on this biafra issues oh...I am just saying that we all need love each other first, and be orientated properly before delving into what drastically reduced our strength and power in the 1960's...after the biafran war then every single igbo man that was in the country or had money in the country was instantly made poor no matter how much they had.......
chai.

if this is your own method of propaganda and convincing Igbo to give up on Biafra.
then you are still a learner.

I think you are vast with what is happening in the world and we can go ahead to analyse what is happening.

you clamour for resource control, have your clamour reached the 8th house?

the clamour for resource control is dead on arrival until the 5 people giving the mining contract start bring the same amount of money from solid minerals as they get from oil.

you and i know that they will not consider that until it is not necessary to hold on to oil anymore.

so, you guys are still helpless.

next time, start writing letters for resource control so that we will know that you guys are still fighting.
dont mind Tonyebarcanista.

Had Jonathan(an adopted Ijaw man) won the election, would all these IPOB Biafrans have risen?

All the people shouting Biafra here and there, were the same people(including the Fraud Called Nnamdi Kanu) who campaigned 24hrs for the discredited jonathan who lost the election.

This is the very reason no sane mind is paying attention to this very hateful, embittered and visionless people protesting for a phantom country.

I have said it before. as long as it is MASSOB and UWAZURIKE that will lead the movement. .it will always END UP IN FAILURE.
ONLY NNANDI KANU CAN DO THIS SUCCESSFULLY.
BECAUSE HE HAS STRONG INTERNATIONAL BACK UP AND SPONSORS.
NOT ONLY THAT.HE ALSO HAVE A VERY STRONG STRATEGY AND TACTICS AND HE IS VERY INTELLIGENT.

Any tribe or zone that wants to secede should be allowed. These guys who can't even form a political cohesion for any national action are just deluding themselves.

Yes,the Igbo youths are hungry for an experiment of nationhood, but their leaders and elders are mostly corrupt and easy to compromise.

The senate under OBJ was an opportunity to illustrate this greedy elitism.Enwerem was impeached by a group led by Nzeribe, then Okadigbo benefitted and followed, then Wabara was another nutcase highlight.

Again, the late Eze Igbo Gburugburu contested for the presidency under APGA and got how many votes?

Who were those who betrayed Ekwueme at the Jos PDP presidential primaries in 1999?You got it right, his kinsmen!

When the gadfly,Kalu, formed PPA and started a cross country for the presidency, the Ohaneze quickly double-crossed him and made an outer-nation choice.Same story when he made some noise for an Igbo presidency.

So,for the Igbo young men and women,Biafra is achievable.Yet either in Nigeria or your dreamland,Biafra Republic, your political and cultural elite remain your only obstacle to greater life and times!smiley

The enemies of the Igbos are within.I pray the youth get wiser and channel their energies to purging their zone of these than expend it all on an utopia,Biafra!
you are a nobody to judge them and their family affair, even d way you talk show that you shout at your mother and label lame allegations on her on her just to achieve your selfish interest.
why not support them to get what they want and allow them to settle their family issues themselves.

I agree with you o
Igbos will gain very little from Biafra.
If they are to secede with just their five states they will be landlocked within Nigeria. I have seen some people in Nairaland say that other countries many other countries are landlocked and still doing well. Biafra is different from the other countries because they would be surrounded by Nigeria and would still need permission from the Nigeria government to move goods and services including food to their area. Nigeria is not an easy place for foreigners to do business in and Biafra would be at the mercy of the Nigerian governement. There are only two countries in the world that are surrounded by another country and I wouldn't call them successful.
If Biafra was to become a country, they would definitely be seriously sanctioned by the Nigerian government. I read a comment here saying international organizations would sanction Nigeria. Many African countries depend on Nigeria to survive. If Nigeria hurts so would they so western countries would be wary of sanctioning Nigeria. Biafra on the other hand would be just another small African state. Biafra would not enjoy the economic, diplomatic and political power that Nigeria has. The government would get to pick and choose the most successful Igbos who want to remain in Nigeria send the rest back to Biafra. This would also make overpopulation worse in Igboland.

Although Nigeria is struggling right now, we are still doing better than many other African countries. We have the 20th biggest GDP in the world which is set to rank in the top 10 biggest economy by 2050 and if we have a great leader we can be in the top 5.
http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/pwc-nigeria-to-rank-among-top-10-economies-by-2050/203571/

Nigeria's GDP per capita is nothing to be happy about compared to western countries but it is higher than most other African countries including Kenya and Ghana. What we need in Nigeria is a capable leader to make Nigeria great.

If Igbos really want to leave Nigeria, then who am I to stop them. I just hope for their sake that they consider all the repercussions seccession would cause. I pray and hope for and stronger, more unified and better Nigeria everyday. We all need each other, wether we're Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Ijaw, Fulani, etc.
there is nothing like repercussion of seccesion.
igbos will benefit more than any other country in africa if they have a country of their own.

bilms:
MY THOUGHT ON BIAFRA
Igbo’s should forget about the existence of, or possibility of resurrecting any country called Biafra. Something Professor Chinua Achebe had referred to,in his controversial memoir title as, THERE WAS A COUNTRY. But in my opinion, there was no any country, but there was a conflict which leads to a war (THE NIGERIAN CIVIL WAR(1967-1970)), a war against disintegration, THE WAR AGAINST BIAFRA, a war to preserve our collective strength and a war to give Africa hope. There was no any country, but there was kwashiorkor (the civilian masses that were victims of starvation from the wrong actions of the Biafran administrators and the Nigerian government), there was mass death, pain, agony, regret, lesson and there was a history.
There was a painful memory of yesterday, the misdeed and counter misdeed of our then leaders, the struggling challenges of today that must be overcomed and the upcoming future of greatness that must be built.

The most important thing today is that, there is togetherness, unity and hope. There is AlhajiObinna and there is Reverend Musa. There was no any country, but there is Nigeria and THIS IS NIGERIA, our Nigeria, my Nigeria and your Nigeria.
