Senator, Abu Ibrahim (APC, Katsina south) and his counterpart in house representative, Amiru Tukur alongside other public officials, was stoned by furious protesters in their constituency on Saturday during party rally in Funtua.


Abu Ibrahim accused his political Leaders within the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Funtua. Senator Abu Ibrahim told the press, “that the youths were induced with money and were encourage to disrupt the Rally, just because of their selfish gain”.


The News Agency of Nigeria reports that it took a combined team of security personnel to rescue notable politicians, including the governor’s entourage, as they came under attack from protesters.


However, trouble started when some youths started chanting “Bamaso Abu Ibrahim’’ (We don’t want Senator Abu Ibrahim) and then started throwing stones and shoes at dignitaries and entertainers invited to perform at the event.


Mr, Tukur, the Representative from the area, reportedly sustained injuries while Mr. Ibrahim, along with some of his aides and supporters, who were trying to rescue the senator, were also assaulted.


In an interview with NAN on Monday, Mr. Ibrahim who is the Senate committee chairman on Police Affairs said he is hale and hearty and was unharmed.

A high school teacher Jessica Storer, 28, has admitted sleeping with the 18-year-old student after her husband Derrick, 33, had plied him and others with alcohol.

Storer admitted to having sex with the pupil but told the hearing he was not drunk.
However, prosecutor said the boy had admitted to being under the influence.

The Lady met the student while a substitute teacher at Pandora-Gilboa High School, Ohio, and could face up to five years in jail after pleading guilty to sexual battery last November.

Her plea deal at Putnam County Court were dismissed but she will have to register as a sex offender for life.
Storer will be sentenced after all reports are compiled on her, while her husband admits three charges of giving alcohol to a minor and faces up to six months on each count when sentenced in May.

Jose Ignacio was preparing to replicate the scene when Judas hangs himself after betraying Jesus when the incident occurred.

He was standing on a bucket with a wire tied around his neck when he lost balance and was left hanged from the tree, according to el Universal.

People watching the show in Barranquillas in western Mexico rushed to the scene, however, were unable to save the man who died on his way to hospital.

The governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, has stage a face-off with the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, for criticising his response to the outbreak of meningitis in his state. Accusing him of not been a true muslim and a patriot of the nation.

Mr. Yari, whose state has been worst hit by the epidemic, with over 200 people killed, had told journalists that Nigerians were facing divine punishment for their sins.

But speaking in Kaduna last week, Mr. Sanusi said the comment was an example of “a complete failure of social policy.”

Tensions between U.S. and N.Korea is the breaking point. America has sent an aircraft carrier to waters off the peninsula and is conducting its biggest-ever joint military exercises with South Korea. Pyongyang, meanwhile, recently launched a ballistic missile and some experts say it could conduct another nuclear test at virtually anytime.

Trump added to the growing war of words with a tweet on Tuesday that said the North is "looking for trouble." He added that if China doesn't do its part to rein in Pyongyang's nuclear ambitions, the U.S. can handle it.

Many North Korea watchers believe North Korea could have a viable nuclear warhead and a ballistic missile capable of hitting the United States' mainland on Trump's watch as president — within the next few years.

It was sunny day, in a beautiful village called odobagi, alamaboro LGA in kogi state. As usual I was in charge of photography of a client’s traditional marriage ceremony, I was hungry, so I requested for food. The attendant enquired “what will you like to eat”, then I asked for Rice and beef stew. In less than 5 minutes here comes my meal, I collected the food with a bottle of water. Immediately I gulped in the first spoon, I notice a unique and distinct taste that I have never felt in any tomato stew before.
I enquire from the attendant who gave me the food. I asked “my guy please what did you use in preparing this tomato stew” he said the normal ingredient of cos. I told him that I felt a distinctly unique taste in the food he gave me. He then said “okpehe was use in preparing the food”.
Okpehe is one of the most common food condiments in Nigeria and many countries of West Africa. Okpehe is a flavouring condiment most popular in the middle belt of Nigeria. It is produced from Prosopis Africana, which is a leguminous oil seed, fermented in most part of Benue, Kogi and part of Niger state.
HEALTH BENEFIT
Food is an integral part of every ceremony in Nigeria and Africa at large. Tradition African food condiments and natural seasonings are now being encouraged because of their health benefits. Most caterers and wedding vendors now include traditional food condiments like iru, dadawa, ogiri and Okpehe into their cooking.

A motorcyclist has been captured on film smashing into a flying mattress at 50mph.

Aaron Wood reportedly believed he was going to die when the mattress flew off the back of a cage trailer in an underground tunnel.

He was forced to drive into the debris as he had no time to stop.

CCTV from inside the tunnel shows how a truck driving along when the mattress falls off the back, spiralling in the air until it hits the motorcyclist.

"I was lucky that the bloke behind me had time to stop and help," Aaron told local media.

"When I stopped I realised I had torn the grips right off the handlebars - I thought I was a goner for sure.

"I have been riding for 20 years and never had something like this happen."

Ahh! what a painful way to end a beautiful beginning. Alexandra Malkin, and husband Frank were on Honeymoon in Ireland when they died in a boating accident.


It was reported that, Frank may have fallen in first and Alexandra went in to try and rescue him.

Police are today carrying out a post-mortem examination following Friday's double death. They are treating the two deaths as accidental.


“The couple in their 30s were reported missing earlier that morning. The couple, who lived in Germany, had earlier in the week hired a cruiser on the river. The body of the man was located in the river close to the hired cruiser at 2pm and the woman's body was later recovered.

The couple had earlier dined at a nearby restaurant.



In a social media message, the restaurant staff stated: "Our hearts go out to their family and friends. A black day in Carrick-on-Shannon which is still in shock. Alexandra Malkin-Dunne and Frank Dunne. RIP."

A married Michigan mother appeared in court on Thursday, to face charges for allegedly having s,ex with a 14-year-old boy.

Brooke L. Lajiness, 38, was arraigned earlier this month on 13 counts including criminal sexual conduct, accosting a minor for immoral purposes and furnishing obscenity to a child.

She has been free on bail since then, after posting $50,000 cash bond.

Her husband was with her on Thursday, when she was back in court for another hearing.

Pope Francis will visit Egypt in late April, reflecting improved Vatican-Muslim dialogue after years of tension that developed during the previous papacy of Benedict XVI.

The Vatican said Saturday that details of the April 28-29 trip will be announced soon.

In Egypt, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said the visit to the majority Muslim nation comes in response to an invitation from President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi, who met Francis when he visited the Vatican in late 2014.


The Vatican said the Pope was going also upon invitations from Catholic bishops in Egypt, Coptic Orthodox church leader Pope Tawadros II and the grand imam of the Al-Azhar mosque, Sheik Ahmed el-Tayyib.
