Owo Soup

Owo soup is a soup that is mostly eaten by the Isoko and Urhobo people from southern Part of Nigeria. If you are planning to have an Isoko traditional marriage and Owo soup is not included in your menu, then you are not ready. The soup is prepared with ingredients like salt, Akanwa (potash), Dried catfish, thick Kpomo, Cowhead, red oil, Pepper, crayfish, starch, seasoning.


Procedures:

Wash the cow-skin (Kpomo), meat and cow-head place them in a pot, allow to cook add oil into it. Add dry fish make sure they are deboned, add seasoning, salt for taste. Allow to cook then add crayfish (grounded), add oil then leave to cook properly.


Then go ahead to dissolve the starch in a Bowl then pour the mixture into the cooking stock. Sprinkle a little potash into the cooking stock and make sure you stir as you are adding. Keep stirring vigorously as the Owo soup is cooking. The potash reacts violently with the oil, stir continuously to stop the soup from spilling away. Leave to cook until you achieve a desired thickness. Owo is served with starch or fufu.

‘When we come around the counter to try to catch it, we can see the squirrel running off with the bar in its mouth. ‘It’s slower than normal by that point, obviously because it has a huge and heavy chocolate bar in its mouth, but it’s still hard to catch.

‘We tried running after it, but it’s still faster.
‘A couple of times, passerbys and customers tried chasing after it with us, but once it goes up a tree, it’s game over.’

‘We could try closing the door, but then the store will get stuffy, and it just costs too much to cool down the place enough all day every day,’ he said.

To my understanding I have noticed that most people into premarital sex don’t know the consequence involve in an intimate relationship, young people don’t even really know the person they are having sex with. The only thing intimate about the relationship is the sex aspect of it. Did you meet their parents? Do you know what they do in their spare time? Perhaps they have a venereal disease, you don’t know their health status. Casual sex is very dangerous. These relationships are the causes of many kinds of infections and other health ailments.


TRUST


Premarital sex damages any relationship married people are involved. Trust is the main issue here. When you are not strong enough to abstain from sex and wait for a marriage commitment, how can you trust one another for fidelity? Equally, a man and woman build trust and respect for one another when they both survive the struggles of self-control — each will have the confidence that the other respects them, and cherishes their intimacy.

DISEASES


Premarital sex has its physical consequences on every aspect of our lives. One of such is the disease contacted from indulging in sex outside marriage, the realities are becoming increasingly obvious and dangerous in today’s society. FOR PURITY


God wants all, both young and old to stay pure for marriage. It’s His plan! Most people disobey God by Indulging in Sex before marriage. God specifically said, “Do not commit adultery” (Exodus 20:14), and “Flee from sexual immorality” (1 Corinthians 6:18). That is, do not have sex with someone who is not your spouse. Obedience requires that no sex before marriage. God’s purpose and design for sex was solely for marriage not premarital.

When an individual did not carry sexual purity into marriage, his or her marriage relationship is affected by the past. If a man or woman has previously had sex with someone else, their marital intimacy has already been affected. This is because there will be a real or perceived comparisons with former lovers and feeling that intimacy was not important enough for the other person to wait for it. But if both have waited for their wedding night, the intimacy has already begun with a solid foundation.

Now you know and have accepted the fact that your marriage is going to be work – a real hard work. You need to ask yourself this - what can make my marriage strong, and what can make it crumble? With this in your mind I believe you are on the right part in making your marriage work. Here are a few very simple principles–that if applied consistently–will go a long way in making your marriage work and live happily ever after.

1. Accept your spouse and their flaws
Marriage is like ordering for a goods and paying for it without knowing its content. Accept your spouse for who they are and work with what you got. Church members of a Sri Lanka church was surprised when they found out the hard way, after church mistakenly printed 2Pac’s lyrics in a booklet handed out to carolers.

Church-goers had been attended the carols event called ‘Joy To The World’ in Colombo when the mistake occurred on December 11.
They were meant to be singing a Catholic prayer, also called ‘Hail Mary’, when they spotted the wrong lyrics.
