Years ago I saw a pastor and his family get denied a visit visa because the VO got angry on hearing that the pastors father (General overseer of the church) was sponsoring the trip with church funds. The VO was visibly upset and kept asking the pastor why his father wanted to embezzle public church funds for his vacation.

If you re sponsoring your self or your bro is sponsoring you. That wuld be better. Since he's your contact in the state

Getting the US Visa obviously isn't the most difficult thing (now I know). I think it has to do a lot with purposefulness and confidence.
I am a 20 something, single (without kids), Virgin passport holder and still got approved. I did my homework though.....read well over 300 pages of US Visa threads her on Nairaland.

I was interviewed by a guy...probably in his late twenties or so. I think he manned Window 3.
ME: Good Morning
VO: Your Passport please
ME: There you go.

ME: For a 2 Weeks training on Selective Electroplating with Sifco ASC
VO: Selective what?
ME: Selective Electroplating, It is technology that is used to repair and enhance machine parts and components.

Me: I'm an Electroplating Engineer, I operate Electroplating machine to repair machine parts.
VO: Have you travelled before
ME: Nope (while shaking my head in disagreement), although I just graduated from the University.

ME: Mechanical Engineering

VO: Okay, your Visa has been approved.......he hands me the White paper and ask me to pick up my visa on Thursday.
Everything happened so fast.
I naturally tend to speak fast especially when tensed and that helped a lot (or so I think). I didn't take a pause to answer any of the questions. He asked, I answered.
I'll narrate my police harassment experience later.
My transcript wouldn't be complete if I don't say a Big Thank you to all the selfless people here on this thread (especially LadyGuinivere and SeyeWest). I literally knew all that I needed, had a graphical understanding of what to expect, and walked right through the whole process.

The Visa officer was not satisfied that he would return on time.
Even with family and job.
The Visa officer assesses the person on sight at the interview and if something feels or looks wrong then it's rejection.
Very difficult to point to one factor in his case.

Please did anyone know the reasons for sudden increase of visa medical examination fees from 1st October 2016 by the 2 appointed medical clinic.
I called last week for the medical examination fee, I was giving estimate of #45,000.00 to #60,000.00. I called back today 30th of September 2016 and I was told that the examination fee increased to #130,000.00 to #160,000.00 we from 1st October 2016. Thanks

1. Fill another ds-160 form with your correct details and correct travel information using this link: https://ceac.state.gov/GENNIV/
2. Send a mail to support@ustraveldocs.com and let them know you realized you might have wrongly filled your submitted online NIV DS-160 form with Application ID: **********.
3. They will get back to you and ask you to log back into your account at CGI https://cgifederal.secure.force.com to update. On your CGI, you will then update the old Application No. with the new one...then save and print.
Do this asap and you will still be able to go for your interview on the 3rd of October.. Goodluck

No have not filled a new ds-160 and have not called. My interview date is on the 25th of October I submitted the ds160 form on the 21st of September and I picked 3rd of October as my intended date of Arrival which is the problem am having now *i just want to know your advise on this before I take any decision. I didn't know that an appointment is always 30 days prior to the day of booking it.
