PoliticsRe: 2027: Goodluck Jonathan Shouldn’t Run For President – Wike by ambale(m): 9:07am On Sep 02, 2025
AMINDA:
Lol. So Tinubu has soiled the reputation of the presidency so much that running for President will dent the international reputation of Jonathan? Wike doesn't want Obi to contest neither does he want Jonathan to contest. I thought he said Atiku was the problem? He wants Tinubu to run unopposed. Thankfully, Nigeria is not Rivers.

John Mahama ran twice after losing his re-election bid before becoming successful again. There's nothing disreputable about running for the number one seat in the country. We cannot afford to leave the presidency for cannibals and vampires.
Infact the man has gone nuts with his recent remarks

He doesn't even know where he is, you say you no go contest, then others should not contest also

He keeps on creating enemies for himself because of one man's ambition, I hope he would not be dumped Sha 😂

Mallam El Rufai, why talk with both sides of the mouth, sir?

I was taken aback yesterday when El Rufai said 4 years are not enough for an6body to make meaningful change as president of a nation especially Nigeria but he is passing judgement on President Tinubu that is just in his second year even as FITCH Ratings,Poor's and Standard Ratings,World Bank,IMF etc have praised him for stabilising the Economy of Nigeria.
But you can take the country back 20years in 2years

I think the bottom line and again it is something that I preach all the time. Educated people are not representative of Nigeria and that’s where we make our first and most crucial mistake. The second mistake is that in our collective arrogance we think our aspirations should also be the aspirations of the man in the village. We say the politicians weaponize poverty, maybe but the reality is the man in the village doesn’t care about the issues the educated city dweller cares about. The village man is not interested in Exchange rate, whether PH refinery is working or not, whether a governor has convoy or not, whether Tinubu bought jet or not. Most of them have never seen arise TV or channels. His life is governed by simple things, borehole, farm inputs, rural roads, schools and medical care.

The quicker the educated city dweller starts to understand how the village or rural people think and what matters to them the quicker we get of our high horses and understand the future of this country. Like it or not these people are 80% of the electorate and determine you future. Politicians know this basic fact that seems to elude the city people with all their education..

EducTed people should also understand what democracy is. It is government by the majority. We are not the majority! We are the minority, we will have our say but the majority will have their way. The folly of the educated Nigerian is that he advocates for democracy because he wants to be like the white man, yet he leaves the majority in the villages without guidance and then starts to argue and speak English in the city. I was having a discussion with someone on Nairaland the other day and I suggested that educated people should start to reconnect with their villages and even vote there….he was arguing with me. Firstly because as an educated person they would have influence on the voters in the village because you will be seen as a role model. Secondly, educated voters don’t make any difference to the votes in the cities and thirdly, about 90 of the 109 senators for example are voted in by largely uneducated villagers because all the educated indigenes from those villages don’t reside, visit or vote their and hence have no influence on their townspeople.
While I agree with some of your points, but I think you don't really understand my point here

Poverty and Illiteracy is actually being used as a strategy by this leaders

They intentionally make you and I poor and uneducated, so they can get thugs that would snatch ballot boxes for them, they even elevate this their thugs as things go on

We have seen in recent times how friends of the government have become untouchable

The elites themselves still need to align even if they want to survive the economic trauma

Abi you think Dangote or whoever billionaire that is can actually go against these current crop of leaders and they wouldn't turn him into a pauper overnight

The bolded statement shows the reason why most of you people's argument lacks substance. Try and find out the cost of a bag of cement in 1976 match it up with the price today that way you can have an idea of the value of #20 you are calling ordinary.
Can you equate the #20 to the billions siphoned daily in the modern Nigeria?

Yes men are going through a lot in this life especially Nigeria because politicians and celebrities have spoiled the girls, on top we still have mumu men very useless set of men who their target everyday is to impress women..
A broke guy don't deserve a woman but a broke girl deserve a man..

callthefred:
Obidients and Atiku are those who messed Fubara up. Bunch of terrible selfish leaders. They only care about themselves. They led Fubara on and discarded him when it mattered most.

You can imagine how Wike fought to ensure his boys return to loot the state, that's some leadership. Wike doesn't need those council funds but he knows what it means for your boys to be happy and they will die for you anytime anyday. Fubara was misled. Even Fubara alone tried but immediately he allowed Obi and Obidients and Atiku to put mouth for his case, he lost his guard.

Simi na man you be no doubt.
Wike only came back cos he has the backing of an irresponsible president who cannot uphold the constitution he's elected to defend

How can you suspend a democratic government and still be running a democratic exercise in it?

One man picked the LG chairmen and you think that's a win

You see I always wonder when people come on platforms and say the X people or the Y people are not happy with Z. Then elections come and the X people and the Y people vote for Z.

To me it says either The people commenting are not in touch with the grassroots and it is not the people that are unhappy but the commentators.
I am not from Rivers and I don’t want to interfere or comment on Rivers affairs, my comment is a general one because I hear a lot of comments on Nairaland and other media with people usually Obidients saying “Nigerians are this”, “Nigerians are that”. It brings me back to something I always preach: Educated Nigerians who are the demographic that tend to make these comments, represent only 10% of the population. How many of them are in touch with the other 90%?
See poverty is a tool in the hands of politicians

Illiteracy is also one of their greatest tool

Any successful politician must be able to use these two tools effectively

Only those who master it, wins

Law number one, Never outshine the master.

Always make those above you feel comfortably superior. In your desire to please and impress them, do not go too far in displaying your talents or you might accomplish the opposite—inspire fear and insecurity. Make your masters appear more brilliant than they are and you will attain the heights of power.
Wike only had the support of an irresponsible president that's why you can say this

But one day all these would end
PoliticsRe: Rivers: Wike Regains Control Of Political Structure As Fubara, Loyalists Boycott by ambale(m): 12:16pm On Aug 31, 2025

Fubara miscalculated, his government would have been far more positively impartful than Wike's because that was Wike's intention of making him Governor so that he will be supported by his influence as a right hand man of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. But, Fubara ended up befriend the politicians who are enemies of the people of Rivers State.

There is no doubt that the people of Rivers State see Wike as a man of honor and majority are very loyal to him.

Wike is indeed a FIELD MARSHAL in Nigeria's politics. He under studies every battle and knows how to win.

I hope Fubara has learnt his lessons. If he likes he should return to his old ways of being unreasonable. He will be checkmated by from every corner.
Every begining has an end, people more influential than Wike has gone down and nothing happened

He would be as if he never journey the face of earth at all

Where are the Adedibus and co today?
