Politics › Re: Tinubu’s Obsession With Tax Hikes Will Stifle Growth And Deepen Poverty, By Olu by ambale(m): 11:08am On Feb 20, 2025
dibunotion:
Nigeria has subtle tax laws, poorly implemented and exploited by most. And this should be every government primary source of revenue.
As long as these new reforms will be equitable, devoid of exploitation and corruption then it should be embraced.
Just because you hate someone doesn't mean all their acts are evil. Even saints are prone to errors
We all know it won't be equitable, na when there's accountability na him tax fit dey equitable

Do you know how much your political leaders earn, so as to tax them properly?

At the end, na the already suffering masses go still suffer the more

Naija people, make una judge this matter, my tired is tired.

To those who are quick to raise their voice when there is collateral damage, this was what the aide to the Governor said, a confirmation of what the CDS has always been saying that terrorists use civilians as human shield.

-Kiss the truth!
This has always been the case everywhere you have terrorist now

The government needs to be up to their duties, starve these guys, use baits for them, block everyway resources can get to them and then see them running out by themselves

ValNwachi75:
The correct question should be "what is it with ritual money making all over Nigeria?".

We've a crisis on our hands and our government seems not to be paying any heed. I truly commend what the Anambra state government is doing in trying to mitigate this crisis in their state. This is not a time for mockery or making fun of states or regions that make the news as regards this crime. Every region in the country is culpable. A serious government would've declared a state of emergency on ritual killing by now. I'll suggest that other states take up the approach that Anambra state has adopted and simultaneously address this matter.
You're right, I also think greed has a lot to do in this also

The government needs to really look into this

Perhaps if hardwork begins to pay, maybe that would deter them

Cos this news are just too terrible

Not up to $35 billion dollars, to service over 200 million people?

Nigeria is currently a poor country going by how much our revenue is and our population.
Was telling someone on this platform that our budgets should be directed more towards human development, we need a lot of revenue to even achieve many of our goals and we have an equally corrupt system that would rather starve the people than doing what is right

People are so struggling to even keep up with the lifestyle of a city right now

The ibadan train is a perfect example, it is not even generating what it should, cos those living on its corridor are not even empowered to use it

I remembered El-rufai filing a case against naira redesign even when he's part of the party

So if he wants to oppose tinubu as being said by his supporters, wouldn't he have openly supported the naira redesign policy once and for all

Bandwagons are just too malicious and dangerous
