Poems For ReviewIn Memory Of Aluu Killing Victims: Two Wrongs Don't Make A Right. by amberacious(op):
TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT

Let the people of Aluu community hear this
Tell this to Emeka, Lucky and Chris
And to everyone who knows what this is
Vengeance is of God and justice is his

When we saw the tyres we feared this could be the end
In our fears we searched among the crowd for just a friend
To promise that if our lives were spared, our ways we will mend
That henceforth from our hard earned labour we will spend

But our sun has set and it was too late
The unforgiving crowd has already sealed our fate
And no matter how hard we knocked at their mercy's gate
None seemed to care, like they were bewitched to hate

To those who were there you know what you saw
How we were tortured by the cruellest jaws and claws
How we were offered as meal to death so raw
How anger, unforgiveness, vengeance tampered with the law

They called us names and labelled us terror
They made us face the ugliest ordeal of horror
But between the killer and the thief who commits the greater error
People of Aluu reflect on this as you look into your mirror

The Harmattan Rain

Somethings are excellent but not commendable
Somethings are pleasant but not desirable
Somethings are right but not acceptable
Somethings are eventful but not remarkable
-Just like the event of an harmattan rain

What we shared was beyond human logic
His love was too true to be magic
It was so tender yet so toxic
Making my story though enviable yet pathetic
-Just like the story of an harmattan rain

His seed was the first to be planted on my farm
His company was more compelling than a lovecharm
But softly I suffocated under his loving arms
As his embrace of love was also his way to harm
-Just like the way of an harmattan rain

His love brought me sweet pain
It was too tempting for me to refrain
Yet too tormenting for me to remain
Leaving me miserable like an harmattan rain
-His love was an harmattan rain

Something about you

There is something about your gorgeous look
Something about it makes it better than beauty in fairytale book
There is something about your captivating face
Something about the way it makes my heart beat pace

There is something about your shining hair
Something about those eyes that sparkle in a pair
There is something about your phenomenon nose
Something about the regal way you pose

There is something about your listening ears
Something about your brilliant appearances in various wears
There is something about your dimpled cheek
Something about it tells me its you that I seek

There is something about your tempting lips
Something about the breathtaking anatomy of your hips
There is something about the sweet way you talk
Something about the confidence with which you walk

There is something about your lovely neck
Something about it compels me to give it a peck
There is something about your kind heart
Something about it makes me desire to have a part

There is something about your caring hands
Something about the way you unwaveringly take your stand
There is something about your delicate fingers
Something about it makes your thought in my mind to linger

There is something about the lines on palm
Something about it seems magical like a chanted psalm
There is something about your beautiful feet
Something about your voice that sounds so sweet

There is something about your skincolour fair and fine
Something about it gladdens my heart that you are mine
There is something about your beautiful name
Something about it tells me this is for real and not a game

Respect Is Reciprocal

Really, what did you expect?
My reaction today shouldn't be hard to suspect
How could you expect me to act like all was perfect
Remember, you were the first to throw away your respect

The other time when Alex came visiting you prepared him hell
There was nothing he did that won't make you yell
In his brother's house you treated him as a prisoner in the cell
Don't think I forgot because I still remember very well

When my mother came visiting you called her a witch
You turned his son's home to a battle pitch
I tried to pacify you but to your senses you wouldn't switch
Until my mother told me I don't have a wife but a b.itch

At last, the opportunity I sought has finally been found
Now that your parents and siblings are around
I will make you dance to same music in every beat and sound
And will know how it feels to have someone's pride rubbished in the ground

In case you don't know the battle is just about to start
Since you have chosen rudeness as your favourite art
My respect for you I will take back part by part
And if care is not taken, may also ask you to return my heart

A Sonnet: Twelve Kisses

I will give you twelve kisses tonight
Before I leave to catch my flight

The first will be to end our fight
The second will be to make things right

The third will be to end your plight
The fourth to take away your fright

The fifth I will plant on your lips so light
The sixth to make your face so bright

The seventh will give you an insight
The eighth will give you a foresight

The ninth because I'm your knight
The tenth to keep you in my sight

The eleventh will be with all my might
The last I will give to make you sleep tight

The Emotional Assault

I have this pain I've tried to kill all the way
But it won't go as it still hurts me to this day
It all started when I chose the wrong path and went astray
And won't end even after the fateful black friday

A day before then I lost Tunji a close friend
But his death was not going to make me bend
For the brotherhood cause, my way I chose not to amend
Until I lost what I cherished most in the end

If only she called before taking her flight
If only I knew she was coming around that night
If only she didn't arrive during the gun fight
If only there was light to aid my sight

At first there was a crossfire battle nextdoor
Then I heard footsteps, someone approaching my door
I shot blindly into the dark, the night made my vision poor
Only to see Beatrice in a pool of blood laying on the floor

Regrettably, the last picture she saw was of me with a gun
My eyes were red burning in flames hotter than the sun
She smiled as if dying in my arms was fun
Then closed her eyes, ending the relationship we had begun

Today, I wonder: what have I gained from joining the cult?
I lost everyone close to me and it's all my fault.
For me, compared to dying, living is a lot more difficult
Because now I live with my guilt, the inevitable, ever lasting emotional assault

Poems For ReviewMy Oga At The Top by amberacious(op): 3:57pm On Mar 15, 2013
My oga at the top

Who is my oga at the top
Could he be the recently pardoned former supercop
Who stole greedily and didn't know when to stop
Until he was caught red handed and his staff of office he had to drop

Could he be the masked cabal
Who sponsors the group whose activity is next to the practice of cannibal
This group slaughter people at any slight of differences, either religious or tribal
Like the sons of an illiterate father, they don't believe education should be global

Could he be the Baba himself, i mean the General
Whose former vice accused as being a betrayal
The one who introduced do or die into our electoral
Claiming that the presidency is the right of his ancestral

Could he be the lucky boy that was once shoeless
The one the masses saw as being faultless and flawless
Until they realised how useless
It is to have a head that is clueless

To every ogas at the top, today you may stand tall
However tomorrow may come along with your fall
So don't look down at your subjects as small
My oga at the top....... that's all!

Poems For ReviewRe: Poems That Tell A Story... by amberacious:
The Revenge Mission

My pains from teenage
My past, my garbage
My scar, my image
My life, my damage

Mother nature showed no favour
Took away mum before i was four
And the father that was my only saviour
On my fifth birthday, the earth chose to devour

At the time my life ought to boom
Mother nature again cursed my beauty to bloom
A beauty programmed to be my doom
As men would only help me if i will end up in their bedroom

Nothing goes for nothing they would say
I will assist you if you will come with me to lay
And when I refuse and say nay
Then I must be ready to starve for that day

I had no one in whom to confide
No one supported me, none was by my side
Everyone, old and young took me for a ride
They took advantage of my predicament at the expense of my pride

But when I went to the clinic because I was ill
And was tested positive of the ailment not curable by any pill
I activated my revenge mode with just one dream to fulfill
Repay men in their coin as they have licensed me to kill

Now you will see the monster you made from teenage
The maggot that will turn your treasure to garbage
Your worst nightmare, the most horrible image
Your life, My damage

If you've never been poor
If you've never begged for remnant on the floor
If you've never been abused by men and thrown out through the door
Then don't judge me because you can't understand my story nor follow its spoor!

"Patience may be sick but Nigeria is sicker

Patience may have been diagnosed of food poison, fibroid, or parkinson
But Nigeria has for long being suffering from corruption and its poison
With our right to good living jailed in political prison
And our leaders doing as they wish without giving us reason

Patience may have gone to Germany to rest
But for long Nigeria has known no rest, north, south, east or west
Boko haram among others has put our society to test
And conquering this monster appears to be an impossible quest

Of course patience, we wish you well
Just as we pray that Nigeria will one day be free from her spell
That made her paradise to the leaders but the populace their hell
Or isn't a curse for our leaders to laugh while we cry and yell?

Patience we rejoice with you because for your sickness you found a cure
Your recent thanksgiving service made us this sure
But poor Nigeria! she remains sick and finding her a cure no one can assure
Yet, with the hope of a better tomorrow she continues to endure

A Letter To My Unborn Child

Dear unborn child, please don't be annoyed nor be mad
That I still keep you waiting after all that I have had
I'm only waiting to get you the perfect dad
In today's world such a search is difficult, its so sad

In today's world, men are many but good husbands are few
Most of the men around here take women as biscuit to chew
They hop from one woman to another having a taste of them all as if women are stew
Its really hard to find one who will value one like the morning dew

My baby, because you are a precious seed I must watch who comes to plant
I must be sure he is not just after my money nor my pant
Mum used to tell me that love bug's sting hurts more than that from soldier ant
So you see why I must be careful to whom my love I grant

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying all men are the same
In fact, you will see that your dad is another exception that will put others to shame
But I must take caution now while I can, so you don't ascribe to me the blame
Of making you a product of another man's heartless and mischievous game

My plan is to get you a dad that you will be proud of at home and on street
A father, who in your bad moments, reassures you that you are still sweet
A father, who when you fall, teaches you how to rise back on your feet
Trust me, he is out there looking for me too, and soon we will meet

The Spirit Of Victor Moses

Do you remember the story of a boy who left his house to play football
Thinking that brotherhood in his country is all for one, one for all
Not knowing that his countrymen's wish for a rising star is for such to fall
And like Joseph's brothers in the Bible, they planned before him a deadfall

I can imagine him getting home and seeing everywhere scattered
Empty cartridges littering the yard and bullet's holes making the walls tattered
Blood stain everywhere indicating someone had been brutally battered
And then the shock: The corpses of his parents, making his dreams shattered

Like the story of the spirit of an orphan wandering in the wonderland
At a tender age of 11, he was sentenced to an exile in a faraway land
He left the wickedness of the people of his fatherland
For the unknown and uncertainty that awaited him in England

Eleven years later, the murderers of his parents sought him for a national assignment
A sort of rescue mission that they would need him to take up without any sentiment
Though for their sins against him they doubted if there could be an atonement
Yet they hoped to explore his patriotism and level of commitment

Though his parents were murdered in cold blood and sent to heaven
Though his fellow countrymen refused to create for him when it mattered most a safe haven
Yet he chose to answer the national call instead of making even
In a display true patriotism, i hear his spirit say Nigeria your sins are forgiven

The Ugly Beauty

When she was born she was named Mabel
But in her neighbourhood she was known as Jezebel
People say her way of life earned her this label
Because at every law of modesty she would always rebel

She was just a girl but she was on fire
Whenever she was on the street, boys could not but admire
She possessed what the greedy men desire
If only she knew that beauty fades and hers will soon expire

She used her beauty as decoy
To lure every greedy man and lusting boy
She broke many homes, destroying their source of joy
She was a master player that dealt with her victim as mere toy

Recently i met with Mr Shina her ex
Who will forever remember what she took from him just for sex
He lost his marriage, his job and duplex
And his simple life turned complicated and complex

At age eighteen, she should have being a mother of seven
But all these gifts of union she heartlessly sent back to heaven
Soon her cup became full with sins unforgiven
Nemesis chose it was time to make even.

She didn't know this abortion will be her last
She fought to stay alive but it was her life against the ones she killed in the past
In the end she was banished to the land of the dead as an outcast
Though I knew her time was running out, i didn't know it would be this fast.

embarassed embarassed sad sad Now this is sad i want to cry but i'm unable, i m not like them! Intelligent composition!

jackbauersballs: Based on a true story.
There's a little bit of London slang in there to give it a desired flavour but otherwise its pretty easy to follow.
Shanks = Knives btw

We are not like them

Whiskey bottle on the table
Trying to drown the pain
I am unable

I am not like them

My mind is a racing train
I try to stay sane
I am unable

I am not like them

Memories of last night
Cant rewind,cant unpick that fight
I am unable

I am not like them

Another London night
Young niggas getting rowdy
We are unable

We are not like them

We tried the thuggish life
Wasn't our cup of tea
Yeah we tried the road ting
But we knew it wasn't for we
We were going Uni
We would stack our peez(Paper)
We would make it legit

We are not like them

But tonight we hangout
We fit in
But we standout

We are not like them

Youths from some other endz
Rolling through our endz
Our mates getting the toolz
Time to get busy
Blood boiling
Caught up in the crowd

We should keep it cool
We should fucck off
We should vamos
Sane people would
But we are unable

We are not like them

We get busy
Striking out
Kicking and Punching
Nigga lights out

We dance through the mayhem
We fucck with the rest of them
Weaker mortals fall
But not us.
We are unable

We are not like them.

Then I see the flash of steel
In its reflection I see your eyes
This wasnt the deal
You cannot, must not DIE!
You must dodge it!
You are ABLE!

YOU ARE NOT LIKE THEM!!!

The shank plunges
Into your skin
Into the depths of my soul
Transfixed in the moment
My blood turns cold
He yells
He strike again
Hit
You sink
My heart sinks with you
I want to save you
I want to rip his fucking head off
blow his head into two with a sawn off
Like movie heroes
My brother I failed you.
I was unable

I was not like them.

Reality sinks in
Everyone runs off
I hold you in my arms
Dont die you bastard
Daddy raised us tough.
You smile
I cry
I laugh
We laugh
I want to hold this moment forever
Like the fabled time benders
But I am unable

I am not like them.

They say life is a bytcch and then we die
You died
Mom cried
Daddy tried to play it cool
He was unable
Others will forget
Others will move on
I will never forget
I will never not love you
I will never not carry you in my heart

Forever

I am unable

I am not like them
