Christianity Etc › Re: Question For The Muslim! by Amberon: 10:00am On Oct 07, 2016
Highly mischievous as expected. You're asked a question as to why wife beating ( as the Qur'an clearly stated) is prescribed for Muslim men and you somehow managed to drag Christianity into this.

Don't peddle lies here. you can't give the correct answers without spreading fallacies, yh?
Farmerforlife:
First of all, the verse is incorrectly interpreted. Whoever interpreted the word 'darb' as 'scourge' was being overly mischevious.

The dispensation is understood to have been given for extreme cases as the last option, and even then, it was disliked to have to resort to it. There is a severe restriction on how a husband may beat his wife, should the matter come to that; for example, it must not be severe, liable to leave marks, or humiliating, and the face must be avoided at all costs. The prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) himself never raised his hand to anyone, except enemy combatants in war.

You ask if earlier prophets permitted husbands to beat their wives. The answer to this is not known. There are just no records in the extant OT about how Abraham, Moses, David or any other prophet conducted their family affairs. Jesus was not a lawgiver, but endorsed the old laws, so we do not expect to see any law there. Add to that, the fact that no part of the NT is actually written by any diaciple or eyewitness of his, and the whole is of doubtful transmission and authorship in any event.

The fact remains that NO VERSE IN THE WHOLE BIBLE either prohibits wife beating, or attempts to keep it within restrictive boundaries. A Muslim would obviously be sinning if he beats his wife in a severe or humiliating manner, or on her face, or without first of all using the preferred options. A Christian or a Jew can beat his wife in any way, shape or form at any time he wishes, and there is no sin upon him, because the Bible never prohibited it or outlined what would be excessive when doing it.

Oh my Word!! Really?

I didn't know that. No wonder Patience Jonathan said "Ojukwu" is dead but his manhood lives on". Maybe she got the inspiration from Mohammed.

We always slept in the same room when that happened. So I'm sure there's no "culprit". Other things also happened which I won't disclose. You continue to be closed minded on this issue.

That's a dictionary definition I gave you and that definitely isn't encompassing. Buddhism is a religion and you can visit Wikipedia or any other known reputable site for verification. Atheism is not a religion.
PastorAIO:
Please sir, if you compare your definition of Religion to your description of Buddhism you will see that they do not tally. Unless you want to admit that your definition is not comprehensive.

1. The word and how we need to live by it, meditate on it and make God's word the standard for our lives.

2. Love: We all know love is the greatest commandment. He teaches that we must love all (including our enemies) irrespective of religion, tribe, and differences just as Christ loved us.

3. Faith; without which no man can see God.

4: Forgiveness : that we should forgive and never hold a grudge or offense against anyone.

He teachings center on the message of Christ. I have examined all his teachings in the light of the word and seen that they're biblical. He teaches that the only adversary is the devil.

Christianity Etc › Re: Adeboye And Others Are Thieves by Amberon: 4:35am On Oct 07, 2016
It is his church, anyone can say anything. He doesn't force people to give tithes. If anyone isn't comfortable with that, they're free to leave the church. I know so many people who don't pay tithes but have gotten married in a redeemed church and one is even marrying there soon.

Yeah right... A christian who believes a woman should head the home.
rexben:
Freewill? Adeboye said those that do not pay tithes should be allowed to marry in RCCG, will you call that freewill?
Thank God you know that I am a Christian. I'm a disciple of Jesus.
Giving should be done towards the poor and not towards the rich e.g GOs

In Buddhism there are beliefs, traditions, rituals and spiritual practices. Buddhism is a religion.

It's not about atheists. You're not supposed to marry someone that isn't a Christian. That means no Muslims, Buddhists, Sikhs or however u spell it, no atheists either.

"Do not be unequally yoked" and btw, this doesn't just apply to women.

As for me personally, atheists depress me so.

religion

rɪˈlɪdʒ(ə)n/

noun

the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods.

In my opinion, anyone who mistakes atheism for a religion is confused because the bedrock of every religion is a belief in a higher power and the supernatural. So atheism doesn't and cannot fall under religion.

PastorAIO:
Okay, so you believe that it is a religion unlike some others who call themselves christians. As it happens I agree with you. Carry go.

What do you say to the argument put forward by some on the forum that Atheism ( or at least the latest atheist movement) is also a religion?
Christianity Etc › Re: Fake And Real Men Of God by Amberon: 7:26pm On Oct 06, 2016
Its purely by revelation because only God knows who is really serving him.

On the physical aspect, there are also many attributes one can analyze to be to ascertain who "could be" a real man of God but you cant be sure by just doing that.
sekundosekundo:
What's your definition of true man of God.
