Today I write in tears, not from a place of pain, but of joy and gratitude. A place of bliss and satisfaction because I am more than contented with how far this opportunity has brought me.
The last five years have been the most blissful years of my career. The journey has been extremely wonderful and filled with the best experiences. I’ve learnt that family is not just about blood ties but about the love, sacrifices and friendship that exist amongst its members. The relationships I have fostered has proved to me that love is thicker than blood. •

Musician, ‘Small Doctor’ arrested with three others for possession of firearms

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested  a popular hiphop artiste, Adekunle Temitope, popularly known as ‘Small Doctor’, for alleged possession of firearms and indiscriminate shooting.

Three others, who were allegedly involved in the crime were also apprehended.

The Lagos State Police Commissioner, Edgal Imohimi, while briefing journalists on Monday, said Adekunle, who was being investigated for allegedly firing indiscriminately after a show at Agege on Tuesday, November 27, also threatened to shoot a traffic police officer, who was on duty in the Oshodi area of Lagos State.

Imohimi said, “It was alleged that four unknown men, in an unregistered green SUV, had brought out a gun and threatened a policeman that if he did not leave the road, they would shoot him.

“Believing that they were armed robbers, I sent out my men and fortunately the men, with the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Shogunle Division, were able to intercept the vehicle and the suspects were arrested and brought down to the headquarters for interrogation.

“It was then discovered that one of them is the same Adekunle Temitope, a.k.a. ‘Small Doctor’. They were arrested in possession of a functional rifle, cartridge and some of their personal belongings.”

Imohimi, who expressed disappointment at the musician’s conduct, said Adekunle had a case with the State Criminal Investigative and Intelligence Department, Panti, for shooting indiscriminately at his Agege show where four persons were injured.

He said, “Adekunle Temitope, a.k.a. ‘Small Doctor’, was arrested and taken to the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigative Department for questioning. He was alleged to have fired a gun; the pellets from the gun injured four people, who were rushed to the hospital.

“You would have thought that the incident would serve as a caution to him, but surprisingly today, I got a situation report from traffic monitors at the Oshodi area about four unknown gunmen in an unregistered green SUV.

“He (Small Doctor) allegedly brought out a weapon and threatened to fire at the policemen. Fortunately, the DPO and other policemen at Shogunle intercepted the suspects and arrested them.

“I am concerned, as one will expect that a popular musician like him will be a role model, but his gangster character is nothing to emulate.”

Imohimi, who said he had directed that the case be properly investigated, added that the suspects would be charged to court for threatening violence on policemen and being in possession of firearms.

Violence at Akwa Ibom Assembly

There was confusion on Tuesday at the sitting of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly as five All Progressives Congress lawmakers attempted to impeach the state Governor, Udom Emmanuel.

The five lawmakers were the ones whose seats were recently declared vacant by the Speaker of the House, Onofiok Luke. They include Nse Ntuen, representing Essien Udim State Constituency; Gabriel Toby (Etim Ekpo/Ika State Constituency) and Idongesit Ituen, (Itu State Constituency).

Others are Otobong Ndem (Mkpat Enin State Constituency) and Victor Udofia representing Ikono State Constituency.

It was gathered that they arrived early at the Assembly complex with thugs and heavily armed policemen and an improvised mace to commence the impeachment proceedings against the governor.


They chased out everyone around and manhandled the Press Secretary to the Speaker, Kufre Okon, who came early in the morning, before making their way to the assembly.

Although the aim of the five APC lawmakers’ gathering at the Assembly early in the morning was not made public, sources close to the affected lawmakers said they allegedly met to impeach the Speaker, Onofiok Luke, and  Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.

“Their main mission is to impeach the speaker and commence the impeachment proceedings against the governor,” the source said.

It was gathered that they shut all doors before commencing the impeachment process which lasted just for very few minutes.

Trouble began at about 10.05am when the state Commissioner for Works, Mr Ephraim Inyangeyen, arrived on the premises of the Assembly complex. He was harassed by the five APC lawmakers who swooped on him and repeatedly banged on his vehicle, asking him to leave the Assembly for them.

The Udom’s arrival few minutes later worsened the situation as the there was a clash between his loyalists and the supporters of the five lawmakers.

In the ensuing confusion, gunshots were fired by security personnel to scare away people.  Journalists and Assembly workers who turned up early that morning and other visitors scampered to safety, some jumped over the walls, while others took cover in the surrounding bush.

Ntuen and other APC members who had earlier in the morning sat with the four other sacked lawmakers were harassed by security personnel in front of the Assembly and they later escaped when the heat became severe.

Ntuen’s vehicle was damaged by the rampaging youths even as he escaped being mobbed by supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party and security personnel.

Also, a Toyota Camry car said to belong to an APC supporter was set ablaze near the premises of the Assembly complex.

The speaker, Luke, in an interview with journalists, said, “Let nobody, party think they can intimidate us in Akwa Ibom State.

“The people of Akwa Ibom have shown solidarity as seen in what happened today. We will continue to stand with our governor. We will continue to make laws for the economic development of the state and for the betterment of the youth of the state.”

When contacted, the factional Speaker, Nse Ntuen, who said he was speaking from his sick bed, said he would address the press on Wednesday to tell the whole world how he and the five All Progressives Congress lawmakers were beaten and thrown out of the Assembly complex by PDP thugs.

A Bill for an Act to amend the Public Holidays Act to declare June 12 as Democracy Day in Nigeria has passed the second ready at the House of Representatives.

The bill which was jointly sponsored by Rep. Edward Pwajok (APC-Plateau) and Rep. Kayode Oladele, seeks to bring the Act in tandem with the current realities and exigencies of the modern times.
Leading the debate, Pwajok said that before 1979, there were separate Acts regulating public holidays in the country.

Pwajok recalled that in 1975, a law was made to repeal all state laws on public holidays and to streamline the process of declaring holidays for the federation.

According to him, by law, the President may declare any day as a public holiday by public notice or act through the Minister of Internal Affairs.
He said that by the schedule of the Act, some days such as New Year Day, National Day like October 1 and religious festivals are set aside for public holidays.

He said that in 2000, the National Assembly amended the schedule to add May 29 as Democracy Day.

The lawmaker said that in May 2018, President Muhammadu Buhari announced June 12 as the new Democracy day.

He explained that for the pronouncement to become effective, there has to be an amendment of the Public Holidays Act.

Pwajok said if the bill is passed into law, subsequent June 12 will become public holidays to commemorate Democracy Day.
He said May 29 would be celebrated every fourth year when there is an inauguration of a new president.

In his ruling, the Speaker of the House, Mr Yakubu Dogara forwarded the bill to the House Committee of the Whole for further legislative actions.

Those who were deaf to the negativity are what we call influencers today! SUCCESS , now has the shameless shouting , “I am a huge fan”. Today, so many brands cater and care about me, they treat me well and the benefits I get from them are huge! I have built my name into a brand known across the world, which has opened many doors for me in several aspects of life including financially! 2019: Gowon, Kumuyi, Sanwo-Olu, others hold prayer sessions for Nigeria

Ahead of the 2019 general election which comes up in Febuary General Yakubu Gowon, General Superintendent, Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor W F Kumuyi and many other men of God have organised a special pray service at the Deeper Life Bible Church Headquarters, Gbagada, Lagos.

The special service which holds on Sunday according to a release from the office of the General Superintendent, Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor W F Kumuyi, the Summit is to draw up sufficient prayers and heart-cry for the nation which is undergoing testy times and which is primed to hold elections three months from now.

As a prelude to the very strategic service, Pastor Kumuyi urged all Saints of God, within and out Nigaria never to give up on their fatherland, stressing that what men cannot achieve through human efforts, he can always be accomplished when the redeemed of the Lord pray unto Him for succor and for divine intervention.

The cleric further declared that not only is it essential for believers to consistently intercede on behalf of their nation as Daniel did for Israel while in captivity, officials of government at all levels should always be invited and drawn to God’s presence as a salutary acknowledgement and acceptance of God as the only fitting solution to the nation’s gargantuan challenges.

It will be recalled that the Convener of Nigeria prays, General Yakubu Gowon had similarly remarked that Nigeria’s problems can be solved faster and better than physical weapons of war.He also noted that God would honor the collective prayers and intercessions of Nigerians for the nation and heal the nation’s wounds.

Highlights of the service will include powerful prayer sessions and a goodwill message by General Gowon. Pastor W F Kumuyi, the host pastor, will deliver the message at the service.

The Governors of Lagos, Bayelsa, Edo and Ekiti states, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, Hon. Seriake Dickson, Mr Godwin Obaseki and Dr Kayode Fayemi respectively will grace the occasion.Mr Jide Sanwo-Olu, a governorship candidate in Lagos state will also attend the intercessory service.

FUTO final year student drowns while swimming in Otammiri river

A Federal University of Technology, Owerri, FUTO final year student has drowned while swimming in a river on Wednesday.

The deceased identified as Kester Gabriel, a 500 level Material and Metallurgical Engineering student,  died inside the Otammiri river in Ihiagwa area of the state.

He was said to have returned to school, on Sunday, after his Industrial Training, only to die on Wednesday (yesterday) while swimming.

His body has since been recovered and deposited in a mortuary.

Another painful incident happened in same state, Imo at the Imo State University, IMSU.

It was reported that a female student of the institution stabbed her boyfriend after a heated argument and then committed suicide out of the fear that the man would lose his life.

The man miraculously survived but he is currently in a critical condition at the hospital where he was rushed to.

How I will tackle Boko Haram if elected president – Ezekwesil

Oby Ezekwesili, the presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), has revealed how her government will tackle Boko Haram insurgency if elected in the 2019 general election, Premium Times reports.
She said her government will completely overhaul the security system to win the war against Boko Haram.
The former minister of education made this known in an interview on a CNN programme with Christiane Amanpour on Wednesday evening.

“A research we had at the World Bank showed that those communities where this menace thrive need to be engaged. We will provide jobs so that people will be busy and get paid.

“Second, my government will completely overhaul the security system. We need fresh hands and people who will end this problem.

“Third, we must also improve our intelligence gathering with cutting edge technology in order to be pre-emptive and proactive”.

Mrs Ezekwesili, the co-convener of #BringbackOurGirls, the group campaigning for the release of girls kidnapped by Boko Haram, also spoke about the remaining 112 Chibok schoolgirls still in captivity.

She said she will continue to advocate for their release and that of Leah Sharibu. Miss Sharibu is the only one among girls kidnapped from a Dapchi school earlier this year still in Boko Haram custody.

Mrs Ezekwesili reiterated her call on Nigerians that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should be voted out in 2019.

She said she believed she was more qualified than other presidential candidates.

“I was the one who fixed public procurement system. I am not a stranger to the politicians. They know me. I know how to deal with them by blocking all loopholes where our collective wealth are siphoned.

“I won’t be fazed by the strength of the political class. 2019 is a contest between those who have not delivered and the rest of us. Even the other candidates know I am better,” she said.

As part of her campaigns, Mrs Ezekwesili recently visited and held meeting with Ibrahim Babangida, former military ruler to “discuss how Nigeria must be taken out of the clutches of the old order, in 2019.”

She was however criticised by Nigerians for the visit.

Many believe Mr Babangida was a key player in most of the military coups in Nigeria.

In 1993, as military ruler, he annulled the presidential election that most Nigerians tagged the most fair election in the history of Nigeria’s democracy, where it was unofficially announced that Moshood Abiola won the general election.

The 2019 presidential election is scheduled to hold on February 16, 2019.

Diddy Holds Private Memorial Service For Kim Porter

On Sunday (Nov. 18), Diddy held a private memorial service to remember the life and impact of Kim Porter. According to TMZ, the homegoing tribute took place at Diddy’s home in Bel-Air, Calif., and over a hundred people were in attendance.

The service was held a few days after Porter’s passing. Reports state the mother-of-four was found lifeless in her home on Thursday morning (Nov. 15), having suffered cardiac arrest. The exact cause of her passing is still being investigated.

Diddy and Porter have three children together: Christian Casey, 20, and twins D’Lila Star and Jessie James, 11. On Sunday, Diddy broke his silence to pay tribute to Porter, writing on social media that “we were more than best friends, we were more than soulmates. We were some other sh*t! And I miss you so much.” According to The Grio, the funeral service will be held in Columbus, Ga., where Porter was born and raised.

The model/entrepreneur’s first child, Quincy Brown, took to social media to express his thoughts and hope for the future. “I am broken…& the only thing that makes sense right now is that you were way too good for this silly world we live in,” Brown wrote. “I love you so much MOMMY. Please give Mee-Maw the biggest hug and kiss for me.” Justin Dior Combs, Diddy’s son from a previous relationship, also commemorated Porter, who he referred to as his “second mother.”

Longtime family friend Kimora Lee Simmons was also in attendance at the homegoing service, writing on Instagram that Porter’s guardian angel status will forever cover her children. “Between us we have 8 kids who are all cousins. We are, and will always be, a family,” Simmons wrote. “I will look after yours and you will look after and guide us all.”

In an IG caption he wrote;

A man who raped the daughter of a witchdoctor was punished with painful farts.

In 2010 he was nominated for the Nigerian Entertainment Awards for Best Album (C.E.O.), Hottest Single "Pon Pon Pon", Best Rap Act and Best Collaboration with vocals. His album C.E.O. (Chief executive Omota English: Chief Executive Gangster) won the Hip hop World Award 2010 for best rap album. From it came the singles "Pon Pon Pon", and "Kondo". Dagrin worked with other Nigerian artists such as Y.Q, 9ice, M.I, Iceberg Slim,Omobaba,Terry G, Ms Chief, Owen G, K01, code,MISTAR DOLLAR, TMD entertainment, Omawumi, Chudy K, Bigiano, and Konga. He associated with music producers like Sossick, Dr Frabz, Sheyman, Frenzy and 02.
