All these silly jabs is because Obi is dominating the political space and you lots are pained. Awka is better and decently developed than ibadan which is the capital of yorrrobaland

Afamed:
Awka
can not stand the least developed Local Govt in Lagos,

I have been to Awka, not less than 400 times since 2003 till date.

I know Lagos same way I know my ATM password.

When I see all these mad zobidents praising Obi, I begin to wonder if there is another Anambra Obi ruled for 8 yrs

Let's do picture comparison, why are you running away from pictures. Aside from Abuja, Awka is the fastest developing city in Nigeria, no yorroba state capital comes close

I’m not here to argue edited picture with you, I finished from Unizik. Awka can only be compared to lokoja in infrastructural wise

Maybe the marketing of Nollywood you mean...

I don't know why most of you outsiders are usually unsettled each time some factual posts are made here. It only exposes inner hate and envy in you guys.

Who doesn't know that Nollywood as we know it today actually started in Anambra, Onitsha precisely.

Even almost all the movies producers and nationwide distributors are still domiciled in Onitsha. Igbos and bitter fights. Tufia.

Awka is not planned. Lets tell ourselves the truth. There are four areas in Awka. OLD TOWN here is the old town that sits on either side of Zik Avenue and stretches to the expressway on one side and the Ring road on the other. It lacks access roads which is why all traffic pushes out onto Zik Avenue or Works Road or the Ring Road and reaches congestion mania at the market which funnels hundreds of buses and keke to a place that is less than 4000 sqm in size. NEW TOWN There is the growing expansion of Awka towards Okpuno Okachi which sits on the other side of the expressway spanning Ngozika layout, Oby Okoli, Y junction and Nodu Okpuno. Purely residential with some modern commercial activity, Obi built a lot of roads that opened up the area, however, the failure of the government to build proper connecting roads means it is trending towards the scenario of the old town.OVERNMENT LAYOUTThere is the government area which encompasses Ekwueme Square, House of Assembly, High Court, ABS, Secretariat, Government House and the Ministry of Lands/immigration area. It has generally good road accessibility and it is low-density and close to the expressway.FITE TO SCHOOL GATEStarting from the Arroma junction, the narrow Ifite road goes towards the back of UNIZIK school gate and while the upper part is marked by decent access the lower part towards the university is horrific in terms of accessibility and planning. It resembles Onitsha in the way buildings are built without regard to overall livability. The government should concentrate its efforts on road construction in the New Town and IFITE to School Gate. These are fast growing areas where developers have to be controlled and infrastructure has to be put in place. The government should even pass into law an annual rental levy of all buildings in this area to fund proper road construction. For the old town, the eke awka market needs to be relocated like yesterday and Zik Avenue recovered from the mania of street traders, barrow hawkers and commercial vehicles. Zik Avenue should be the modern face of Awka with modern retailing not primitive trading. Eke Awka should be relocated ASAP and the space zoned for something Awka could use like a City Hall. The government should also endeavour to wall off Nkwo Amaenyi from Zik Avenue. Finally, there is a need to connect the old and new town better. The government should build two bridges between Amudo Rd and Ifite Rd and between Regina Caeli and Old INEC road. This would allow traffic to flow easily from Zik Avenue across the expressway.

Please stop quoting me with your tantrums. Awka is a well planned city with decent housing system, you should be the one telling yourself the truth. All the things you listed are even worse in other cities in the region and Nigeria at large. Awka has been leading in overall investments in real estate in the region. Good that Soludo is already turned the city into a construction site. Anambra shall continue to be the flagship state in the region

Glad to know that Awka has maintained consistent lead in the real estate imvestments and developments in the region

My brother,

My property is at Ngozika extension. The place now called Smith City layout. Just before the Dubai estate. I even used a nairalander to fence it and install gate on the property. I say this so that you know I'm not making this up. I know exactly what has prevented many of us abroad from building in Awka. Many have bought land in Enugu Heliu estate or fully built homes in other estates. Some of those individuals are here in this forum too. Yes, AMC is excellent if you can afford it.

We MUST generally up our game in making Anambra cities what they ought to be. Those who take offense when we are trying to improve our state are mistaken in what it takes to get things right. I don't think any good Anambra person will be offended that we are holding our leaders responsible to fix our homeland. Instead of the honestly silly mindset of trying to defend these issues so that other equally silly citizens of other states would not mock us. They can mock, we know we are still better. We just want to be the best PERIOD.

The highlighted part settles it. Now going back to your property, it is not actually at Ngozika but an overspill extending towards Ebenebe, correct me I am wrong, but just like Ngozika and it's extensions are planned with tarred roads, those areas aren't yet tarred, hopefully by this administration infrastructural drive.

Like many people abroad, I advice them to buy from serviced areas like Udoka, Ngozika, Awka Millennium, Efab, Dubai estate, etc. Awka Millennium city has been fully bought and they now have extension because of high demand.

If you have money go to Awka Millennium city 2 because AMC 1 is sold out.

udos, I wish every other PRO Establishment will argue rationally/make submissions like you without cursing. The difference between the cities you mentioned and Awka is that unlike those cities, the entirety of Awka is, no exception(maybe AMI that is privately funded with Land as equity contribution from Anamnbra government). I challenge you to tell any planned area in Awka.here are about 6 dual carriage ways terminating at Owerri and several interconnecting routes within the city, unlike Awka that has only Onitsha/Enugu expressway. BTW, I am from Awka and Soludo is just scratching the surface in Awka. He will demolish buildings, a lot of it to make Awka habitable

All the things you wrote are lies. I can beat my chest to say that Awka is a beautiful well planned city at least in Nigerian standard. There are several dual carriage ways in the city, Zik Avenue is one of them, Esther Obiakor, Ekwueme Road, Secretariate Road, etc, I won't forget numerous of such roads at Awka Millennium city.

There are less slum in Awka if there any compare to Owerri. I have done a project for UNDP in Owerri, go to worldbank in Owerri, you will be wondering if you are actually in a state capital. I think someone already posted a video of Owerri here.

You people should desist with this dangerous lies. These are pictures posted by . Awka in most part is a well planned city. Just like every other city, it has its own fair share of bad roads too. Owerri is even worse off in this regard

Well, it is not Soludo's fault that previous regimes failed to develop the Anambra capital city.
I just hope he listens to the advice in the video to ensure the PLANNED development of Awka and other Anambra major cities. Instead of the usual chaotic way of building up slums everywhere in the name of development. Personally, this issue has prevented me from developing my land in Awka. Since it might amount to spending money to build in a place likely to become another uninhabitable slum.

I hope Gov. Soludo takes the issue of planlessness and chaotic development of Awka and other Anambra major cities very very seriously. We just cannot continue to lose high-end investments to neighboring states because we failed to plan our cities to be decent for habitation.

Not holding brief for anyone but I watched that video and I can tell you even in Abuja I saw similar thing not to talk of other SE or southern cities.

You said you bought property, where in Awka? Did you buy at Ngozika or Udoka or Abuja estate or Efab, etc, I list over a 100 well planned estates in Awka, or did you even bought at Awka Millennium city?

Even Lagos with Banana island still has makoko, etc, why are you people down here always emotionally inclined. I was in Enugu recently and I saw worse things at Asata, Obiagu, Ogui, etc. Owerri is a mess, I don't wanna discuss that here. Let's be unbiased when making some posts.

Governor Soludo Describes Human Capital As South East Region's Only Dependable Resource

As a way of deepening human capital development in the South East region and the country, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has pushed for increased labour force participation and mobility in the country.

Governor Soludo made the call at the International Convention Center, Awka during South East Human Capital Development Conference which drew participants from the region and beyond.

The Governor who stressed that boundaries that make the labour force function in "silos", will always limit progress, advocated an easier means for sharing of skills to increase productivity in the country.

While recalling that the South East has the smallest land mass of all the regions in the country, the least natural resources and with a huge of its productive resources domiciled outside the region, the Governor hoped that the conference will identify ways through which the human capital assets of the region can be fully tapped.

He also emphasized that ninety-nine percent of the resources needed to develop the region is in private hands, suggesting that to achieve effective results, models such as Public, Private, Community Partnership and other benchmarks and case studies beyond the shores of Nigeria could be handy.

The event which featured policy recommendation session was attended by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, representatives of the Governors of the region, members of Anambra State Executive Council, among others.

I posted this on the Ebonyi thread and felt it would be good to repost it on other south-east state threads as well so we can have a constructive discussion on how to improve on our cities and make them world-class. .

Wike has really done so well in PH. The next administration will now focus on places like Oyigbo, Eleme and other locations outside Port Harcourt city. Wike really tried even though he had big allocation, but he did his best. Hopefully the SE will get its act together. Soludo has already kickstarted almost statewide infrastructural reconstruction. We want to see others follow. Umahi has equally tried, hopefully his successor will continue from where he stop

Of course you wouldn't be happy.....no suprises here1

You are the one that revels in higlighting and posting stories and reports of (imported and engineered) insecurity in the south-east....esp' Anambra state, just so you can give traction to the wicked narrative you want put out there that 'the south-east is insecure'! All this is so you can blame Mazi Kanu, IPOB and ensure there's a low turnout of voters in the upcoming presidential elections in the region! Now Governor Soludo is wisely proposing a solution that could help douse tension and remove the 'excuse' vile 5th-columnists and impostors like you give for causing bloodshed and insecurity in the south-east, you're now throwing a hissy-fit and telling him to 'mind his own business'!? shocked If the political elite and other leaders in the south-east aren't at the forefront of trying to find a solution to the problems confronting the region, is it outsiders you expect to do so!?

Different people with different perspectives to issues. Igbos leaders should call for release of kanu

Am not happy about this news. Soludo should leave Nnamdi kanu matter and face governance. Let the afaraukwu Terrorist suffer well for dss prison.

You have not clear the Criminals killing in your state and you to be surtey for a Terrorist that is responsible for loss of lives and destruction in the South East.

Other South East governors are not calling for Kanu release, why soludo dey carry the matter for head ?

He should not make Anambra state a point of attack by ipob terrorists to negotiate and pressure for Kanu release.

Let Abia state Politicians push for Kanu release. Senator OUK is doing that. He is in APC and want to be surtey for Nnamdi kanu. That better for him.

Let Ikpeazu, Orji Uzor kalu, TA Orji and Enyinnaya abaribe push for Kanu release. Let them use Abia state to negotiate for Kanu release.

This is very unnecessary

I do not seek soludo's failure but the man seems to have another agenda or is just distracted..............I am not feeling this administration ......even his subordinates seem ill at ease with the general direction of this admin! I pray he wakes up soon! Even Abia and Aba is giving off better positive vibes at this point in time!
