Thanks a lot for your response. I have already started the application in Benin, and there is a huge back log they are currently processing September 2021 and my daughters own was done in March. Based on the above is it adviceable I wait till it’s out before applying since I intend to travel in September?

Just that the convention that I applied for will start from 1july to 3 July and I don't think it will make sense if it delays beyond that date

Pls what could be a valid reason for having no travel history, as for me I don't have and my reason for not having is that I haven't had the need to travel abroad for anything but right now, I want to visit my sibling in Canada as we haven't seen since he left naija in 2019, is this reason valid enough?

Is it still advisable to apply for Visitor Visa for spouse and son when an SOWP application is still running ? The SOWP application is now 6 months hold in the system with no decision made yet.

All these agent be doing the most, people have gotten their visa approved without prior travel history. The fact that you have travelled to the UK thrice is an added advantage.

Please proceed to apply on the new portal with all the necessary documents to support your application and also In the travel history section, do upload your stamped passport pages to the UK.

So my wife has a qualification exams in Canada on August 11. She's in need of a visitor's visa to Canada for like a week for this exams. We checked yesterday and saw that the average processing timeline for a visitor's visa applied in Nigeria is 146 days while in Cameroon is 34 days. I was told this is because of the backlogs of untreated applications from Nigeria.

We have about 3 months to this exam and scared that should we decide to apply in Nigeria, the application may never be looked at before the exams date. We don't know if it is possible and a good idea to apply in Cameroon or another neighbouring country since the applications can be done online as well. My wife is about 8 months pregnant now and will be due anytime next month.

Please kindly advise for those who have had experience regarding this.

Hi everyone. Though I have been a long time guest here, I recently registered to give back to this forum.
I'm a first time applicant, and I applied with the new link.
Here is my timeline:

Visa applied for: Visitor Visa.
Purpose of visitation: To reunite with family member who is a PR holder.
Application submitted online: January 31.
Biometrics completed: February 1 (updated same day on my portal).
Eligibility review: Started March 25/26, not sure of the two dates exactly.
BVL & PPR: March 30.
Sent passport to the VAC office: March 31.
Return of stamped passport: April 13.

Documents submitted:
1. Letter of employment
2. Introduction letter from place of work
3. My statement of account
4. Family member PR card
5. Wife's statement of account
6. Birth certificate
7. Family member statement of account
8. A simple SOP of about 1 page, stating reasons for family reunification
9. Letter of invitation from the family member inviting me .

I started following this Canada Visa thread weeks after submitting my application. At a point I felt somehow about my application, and wished I had done more. Nevertheless, I got a approval within 60days.
What surprised me the most is that I got the maximum duration of Visa on my passport, which is the highest passport duration currently being issued as a Nigerian passport.

My take home in this Visa process is that simple applications are easy to get approval. Moreso a straight to the point SOP is key. I mentioned my background and skills in the SOP, this may also be of huge influence to my application.

I'm indeed grateful to God.

Is a renewal, so her biometric is still valid
PPR-12th April.
Applied via the new portal.

Am yet to travel, so is not a family reunion application.

Is a very long story, but has ended in Praise!
In summary;
Keep praying and trusting, even when you don’t feel like.
Put in your very best in your application. Do your research, and ask questions. We have selfless people on this platform that will answer your questions. I say a big thank you to them, and God bless.

I am just confused. I applied for a Study Permit for my spouse and Visitor Visa for my son that is meant to accompany her in December, 2021, via the newportal. She got her permit approved in February, 2022, but my son's VV is still pending. The last update on his application was a request for "Parent Authorisation to Travel" since March 9th, 2022. I erroneously sent the Travel Authorisation attached to the initial application which was dated 28th November, 2021. Upon realising the mistake, I sent an updated one immediately, but no response till now. I have sent several mails to no avail.

I have since applied for a study permit for him and my daughter while his VV is still running. Hope I am not looking desperate.

Any advise on what I should do going forward?

I would appreciate responses please.

I need information on passport submission. Can we walk into VFS and submit? What documents do we need to submit aside from the passport letter? any fees to pay to VFS?

I have a question. I am on a study permit in Canada. I graduate next year April and my mother wants to attend the graduation ceremony. I understand processing visa takes time so we want to start early.

She plans to fully sponsor her trip. She has a business, and husband, children and grandchildren in Nigeria so I believe family ties won’t be a problem. She has a travel history.

Since I am student, do I need to write a letter inviting her? What are the possible difficulties we may have with this application? Also, she served as the sponsor for my study permit application.

What documents would you recommend we submit?

I applied for a VV using the old portal on February 19th, 2022, No update as of this moment. I am considering applying using the new portal but I have some things to clarify before proceeding with the application. I would like to know if you had to combine all your financial statements in one PDF? Also, I would like to know if every other document other than the passport and proof of funds was compressed into one PDF file?

Please people, i really need to know what to do here. I submitted my application for a Canadian Visitor visa September 17, did my biometrics February 3. The reason for the delays was that when i was sent my letter for biometrics and after making payment in November, i didn't complete the sending of my payment document. Now since February 3 i have been waiting. I called Canada office on +19056125416 and they asked me to follow up with my local Visa office in Nairobi. I sent them a mail and they said my file is on queue. My wife and children are permanent resident status.

What should i do next?

You that is inviting will submit your statement of account and in your LOE give a detailed explanations that you will take responsibility of everything for the person your inviting , remember to detail this information that is if your are taking full responsibility but if the person your inviting is taking the responsibility then his/her statement of account is needed
