Despite the cold relationship that Buhari and the late MKO Abiola had while he was alive, the current Nigerian president, Buhari deemed it fit to honor him at his grave yard in 2011. Late MKO Abiola’s son, Abdulmumuni revealed this in a chat with PLUS TV Africa. According to him, many of MKO Abiola’s friends turned against him after his death, except for Buhari and a few others. “Buhari in 2011 came to this house when he was running for the elections and went to his grave and prayed despite the fact that they weren’t friends when he was alive. I was driving him around when he told me about the relationship between them. I drove him to the Oba’s place, he looked at me and said, my father wasn’t his friend, he said the truth and it was refreshing to hear, yet he was humble enough to come to his house to pray at his grave.” Watch video: https://www.kemifilani.ng/2019/06/june-12-how-buhari-visited-mko-abiolas-grave-to-pray.html

After all her weeping and drama in a video released on Mother’s Day with claims that her husband abandoned her on their wedding night, telling her that he never loved her but married her because of her first pregnancy, it has been discovered that Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, sold a lie to millions of her fans. “She was never married to Mr Ojo. They had two kids—Festus and Priscy but there was no wedding. Nothing binds Iyabo and Ojo together legally,” angry friends of Iyabo Ojo’s estranged husband have exclusively told Kemi A. Wondering how the duo met and fell in love? “When Iyabo Ojo was a student of the Lagos State Polytechnic, which had its temporary site in Isolo, the one close to the Oba’s palace then, she would always come to Ojo’s shop. Then, he was a stark illiterate carpenter and could not utter a word in English. But he was tall and good-looking. She was coming to his carpenter’s shed and before we knew it, she got pregnant for him. Her parents and siblings were against this but she stood her ground and moved in with him. He never wanted her but she threw herself at him. There was no wedding. Where would Ojo have gotten money to have a wedding? Which wedding night was she referring to in her ‘weeping video’? Tell her to produce their wedding photos if she insists on a wedding night,” Ojo’s friends said. However, Iyabo mentioned in some interviews she had some years ago that she catered for her children without any contributions from their father. “Which contributions? Though Ojo had nothing as a carpenter, the little he made from his business, he gave to her and the kids. Moreso, Iyabo was getting proceeds from her grandfather’s estate, so the situation wasn’t as bad as she painted it. In fact, when her grandfather died, some years ago, she got N11m as her share of the estate. It’s a lie that she gave birth to Priscy at home. She should tell the truth and stop embarrassing Ojo, who ended up with a lady who is more educated than he was. They had quarrels and she would abuse him in the English language. Of course, this infuriated him and he would be asking his friends what she meant with the ‘big words’ she hurled at him. “She was in love with him and refused to leave him. But when Iyabo got the money bequeathed to her, everything changed. She squandered some of it and in a day, she bought five cars—a Toyota starlet, Opel Omega, Mazda and two other cars. She also opened a boutique and sold ladies’ wear. There was a time robbers attacked her and collected part of the money. “By the time the money remained N1m, she was advised to invest in the movie industry. Iyabo became interested in Theatre Arts and joined Yinka Quadri/Ogogo caucus. There were many allegations of infidelity from Mr. Ojo then, and there was a time she left him and moved in with an actor, whose family, including their mother, are all involved in film-making. The actor is short, could barely speak English and must have stuck with her because of the money. So, she abandoned Ojo and stayed with the actor. That didn’t last long because it was obvious the man wasn’t going to marry her because he allegedly instructed her to abort pregnancies she had for him,” sources revealed. That's not all. In a move that might be recorded in the Guinness World Book of Records, Sharon Oyakhilome, daughter of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has held two different white wedding ceremonies in one month. This actually can be linked to the fact that the parents of the bride Chris and Anita Oyakhilome are sour divorcees. While Pastor Chris was noticeably present at their daughter’s traditional and white wedding ceremony in Nigeria, his ex wife Anita was also noticeably absent. The action sparked reactions from Nigerians and even top gospel singers like Nathaniel Bassey online. So, to honor her mum who was reportedly banned from showing up at the Nigerian royal wedding, Sharon had a second wedding reception in the UK and this time, Pastor Oyakhilome was absent. The young couple Sharon and Phillip Frimpong whose love story moved us to tears, shared their vows in her presence and had a reception with her and her private invited guests over the weekend. Sharon has shared photos from the recent wedding on her page while tactfully disabling the comments to avoid trolls and questions. https://www.kemifilani.com/2018/10/chris-oyakhilomes-daughter-sharon-holds-second-wedding-to-honor-mum-photos.html

Popular Yoruba movie actor, Owolabi Ajasa, surprised many of his fans when he shared photos of himself at the mandatory National Youth Service in Kogi State. The star actor who has featured in various Yoruba movies, shared a picture from the orientation camp with the caption, “Tank God… I achieved My aim.. Glory be to God.. Kogi NYSC orientation camp…” In this exclusive chat with Kemi Filani Blog, Owolabi Ajasa who completed his Higher National Diploma course from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Abeokuta last year, described his camp experience thus: My life on camp is going on smoothly. I enjoy it and I don’t get any preferential treatment. There is a saying that when you get to Rome, behave like the Romans and that is what i’m doing. I wake up with others everyday by 4am after which we get matched by soldiers to the parade ground..I also join my fellow corps members in receiving lectures. I don’t prove too big or anything, i join them in queuing up for food for breakfast, lunch & Dinner. We started a football competition today and I joined. There was even a time I wanted to go & meet someone @ mami market.. A very young soldier stopped me. He said I should do all what we have been taught so far at the parade ground and when i did as instructed, he let me go.” On relating with his fellow corps members, he said “Many of my fellow corps members always want to take photos and selfies with me when they see me and i often oblige them, i flow well with them’ On how he was able to get into camp despite the age 30 boundary for NYSC I actually didn’t experience any hackles or have to lie about my age, you can serve anytime, depending on the time you graduated. I finished from school last year and my name made it to the list of graduates to partake in the NYSC. Revealing why he went to school and participated in the NYSC programme despite his age, he said In My family especially from my Father’s side, nobody graduated & I believe something is behind it, could be financial or spiritual, anyhow and that is why i decided to break the jinx and God indeed helped me to. I was very excited and happy when the dream finally came through. Though, is not new thing with other people but to me & My family, it is the first some one will graduate and serve the nation. On how he was successfully able to complete school despite his busy schedule on movie locations, he said “I had to suspend one for another and take a break from acting. Film industry is for life but not so with going to School. Now that I’m done with School, I am returning back fully with packaging to the film industry.” https://www.kemifilani.com/2018/01/owolabi-ajasa-exclusively-tells-kemi-filani-blog-experience-kogi-nysc-camp.html cc @lalasticalala

Well, I just feel happy. I don’t just know but it’s something that’s gives me joy both good and bad. How then do you deal with some stubborn male fans? Well, that’s not a problem at all. My mum helps me out. She is like my shield. Let’s take you back a bit, how did your acting career start? It was through the help of my mother years ago. I didn’t really see myself reaching this stage. It all happened all of a sudden. Then, my mother suffered, and made sure I got to this stage in life. When you say suffered, can you please explain clearer? What I mean is not all things come on a platter of Gold. My mother did a lot for me. But in that aspect they are memories, I won’t like to share. In the beginning. How difficult was it for you to cope with taking your lines? Well, It wasn’t hard because, I was a little sharp kid, that had no worries in life. I always took my lines then, like I was reciting a poem. You act so maturely, are you above 20 already? No, not at all. People speculate that though. But, no I’m not up to. (Laughs). And for the records, I’m not playing hide and seek with my age. People can go on and assume what they like. Just yesterday, Friday, December 15, 2017, Yul Edochie, Nollywood actor turned politician, dumped the Democratic Peoples Congress (DPC), where he had against all odds, contested during the Anambra governorship election and moved on to APGA, the winning team in the State. In this Exclusive Interview with Kemi Filani Blog, Edochie, a movie star from Nteje village in Oyi local government area of Anambra, revealed why he got only 145 votes, how he was betrayed 3 days to the election, his pains, gains and more. Excerpts; How was the whole election process? Thank you. First let me congratulate Governor Willie Obiano on his victory at the polls. The process was a fulfilling one. Stressful but I would do it all over again for the good of the people, the youths. Did you start losing hope at a point? I never lost hope till the end. When the results were announced what was your immediate reactions? No one likes losing certainly, but I thanked God for the experience and keeping me alive all through and I moved on quickly. You conceded to defeat so easily and congratulated the governor, did you see it coming? Yes! I think I saw it coming towards the end. 3 days to election some of my party members went to pay allegiance to another party, accepted money from them and said that i had stepped down. Which they didn't discuss with me before doing. And it went viral. I did a video to counter that. But the propaganda had spread so quickly and my supporters thought I had stepped down. But I hold nothing against anyone, its all politics. Have you dreamed or pictured yourself in the government house? Yes! I pictured myself being in a capacity to give the people good governance. Now that you had a little bit of experience, will you try House of Assemblies? House of assembly? I don't know yet. Are you currently eyeing any political office, like speculated? No! I'm not eyeing any political office. I'm concentrating on rendering my service to the people and government of Anambra in any way I can to ensure a better life for my people. Do you have regrets venturing into politics? No regrets at all. I'm happy i ventured into it and i have come to stay in politics. And i urge more Nigerian youths to come into politics. We all need to know how our state and country is being run and make contributions. If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem. 95% of the people in Nigerian politics are there to grab money, they dont care about giving the people good governance. So if we keep waiting for them to change things then we are wasting our time. We need more good people of integrity to come in and kick start the real change we want. Would you say its a wasted efforts? No! It wasnt a wasted effort at all. I gained so much experience which I couldnt have gotten elsewhere. It brought me closer to the people and i witnessed various problems which different communities in Anambra are facing. Through me their voices will be heard. So, what's next for you? As time goes on I'll figure out what next for me. How has this affected your acting career? Well, I left acting and directing for months to achieve this. And a lot of my people missed me. I missed them too. I'll be back. How were you even able to joggle the two? I dropped movies and concentrated on politics. How did your family cope during the long absence? My family coped well. Your Father, Pete Edochie, what was his role in all of these? My father just encouraged me. People were saying not even your parents or brothers voted for you, how true is that? Not true. My people voted. It was the whole propaganda of me stepping down that reduced my votes because a lot of my supporters believed I had stepped down. Your colleagues didn't give you support, even at the tail end of the campaign, didn't you carry them along? I carried my colleagues along as much as I could. Of course I wouldn't force anyone to support me. Its their choice. I have nothing against anyone. Whats the true story behind the Channels Debate? About the channels debate I wasn't invited. Which isn't nice, because a young man who defied all odds to run for governor at 35, without sponsors or godfathers deserves to be heard. I attended the two debates that were held before the channels one and many of the candidates in the big parties did not attend. It was said that you couldn't raise the N1.8m they had requested, true? Well, nobody asked me to pay 1.8m. If they asked them to pay then its a shame because it shouldn't be so. Candidates are not supposed to pay money to be heard. What has all these taught you about life? It made me stronger as a person. Should we expect a Nollywood movie detailing your experiences during the campaign? No. I'm not doing a movie about my experience. What did you miss while you were running around during the campaign? I missed my family and my Nollywood family as well. http://www.kemifilani.com/2017/12/exclusive-how-i-was-betrayed-3-days-to.html |

Banky W’s wife, Adesua Etomi says it wasn’t easy playing a pregnant woman in the Wedding Party 2 because she knew a lot of women would watch and they could come after her if she didn’t do it well. Kemi Filani Blog had this interesting chat with her at the private screening of the movie in Lekki, Lagos, In the wedding party 2, you gave birth to twins, do you also want to have twins in your real marriage with Banky? In the movie, Dunni was pregnant and also later had twins. Asking if i want to expect twins in real life is a very personal question. Next question please... When you saw the script for The Wedding Party 2, didn't you feel it was almost same story line with the Part 1? No, not at all. The script for The Wedding Party 2 was really a beautiful one. I was really so excited about it. The script brought back the relationships in the cleverest way ever. New relationships were established, old relationships were given a new different direction to go with. It was an exciting one. I didn't see it as a repetition of concepts. It was totally different setting, background and stuffs. What are those moral lessons that The Wedding Party 2 is teaching couples? The movie is not a Class where we try to teach or preach. However, the subjects we touched are very universal; interracial relationships, backgrounds, family, but I think more than we touch all these things, we also bring resolutions and solutions to some of them. We weren't preaching or teaching, but rather showing the world how it should be. Marriage between different races, etc. Relationship can be bad and amended. We focused more on the solutions than problems. While you were filming Th Wedding Party 2, you were also planning your own wedding, how did you joggle that? When I was filming the movie, I made sure I concentrated on giving it my best at that time. And that was it. You were also looking so tired in the movie, is there another reason to this, or just you acting Pregnant Dunni? You know when you take on character, you take on everything that has to do with it. When you are heavily pregnant, you are always tired, right? Yes! That's how good I delivered my role. There was a time you raised your voice while talking to your husband in the movie, is that the real you? Every actor that plays a role, plays a character. So, I was playing Dunni not Adesua. So what's your labour room experience like? That was really interesting, because I haven't had a child before but I was opportuned to be around people that are pregnant and I did a bit of research too. I had a load on my shoulder trying to portray that role effectively. Those who have had babies before would know if I wasn't getting it right, so I had to pull on the experience I have been around people that have been pregnant. It's Christmas, what's your wish? I want to continue to remain happy and hope that the share of the happiness of the season is spread to every one out there. I also hope that people, most importantly remember the reason for the season. http://www.kemifilani.com/2017/12/exclusive-adesua-etomi-talks-about.html
