Billionaire Femi Otedola’s 22 year old daughter has carved a niche for herself as one of the best DJs in the music industry. Florence, aka DJ Cuppy, is our celebrity for the weekend.

In this interview, the beautiful entertainer who grew up in Ilupeju, Lagos and had a cheerful and bright childhood, talked music, handling fame, being Femi Otedola’s daughter and more.

How the name ‘DJ Cuppy evolved’?
Cuppy: Such an interesting question! I used to be called DJ Cupcake actually, back when I was 16. I mean, people used to call me Cups, Cupstar, Cuppito, etc… As time has progressed and I became more professionally involved in music I decided to drop the ‘DJ’ and the ‘cake’, and ended up at Cuppy!

Why are you still furthering your education despite having an amazing skill that most ladies cannot even boast of.
Cuppy: Yes I am currently undertaking a Masters degree in Music Business. I believe that furthering my skills will only do more good than harm and help to futher my knowledge in my chosen career path. It is not just about DJ-ing, there is a business side in the entertainment industry which I hope to be able to tap into as time goes by which was why I started my own content and production company called Red Velvet Music Group. I believe in educating yourself at all times, we can never know enough!

Last year, you were appointed Nigeria’s tourism ambassador and it sparked quite a lot of positive and negative reactions. Many insisted that you didn’t merit the title, as it was only given to you because of your father’s affluence and well known status quo in the country…

Cuppy: It was an honour to be appointed as Nigeria’s Tourism ambassador and I have thoroughly enjoyed flying the flag for Nigeria wherever I am in the world.

I worked hard and will continue to work hard to earn a name and position for myself.

Were there ever times you wished things were different for you and didn’t have to be referred to as the billionaire’s daughter?

Cuppy: I am and will always be proud to be an Otedola regardless of the criticisms I face. I just try to look at things in a positive light.

Nigerians heavily criticized Governor Adams Oshiomhole marriage to Iara Fortes last month, many claimed the new bride was in the marriage for financial gains while several others were not pleased with the age gap between the couple. What’s your take on this?
Cuppy: Love is something I believe is personal. You can’t help who or what you fall in love with. Many people criticized me for falling in love with music and not following my Father’s line of profession but what you love is what you love. As long as it/they make you happy!

Nollywood actress, Yetunde Akilapa is in the News again!

Just months after she was almost beaten to death by a mob in Magodo for breaking into a man’s flat with the help of a master key, Yetunde has once again reportedly been disgraced at Yaba where she is currently undergoing training in cosmetic makeup in a bid to hustle to make ends meet.

The young lady who has already been branded the bad name-thief, decided to steal from her boss, the lady who teaches her makeup.

Her madam had just stocked her shop with iphones, laptops and other gadgets she newly brought into the country. At the close of day, everybody went home, but Yetunde came back later at night with a master key.

She gained entrance into the store and took away some Iphones, Ipads and laptops before someone spotted her. She was accosted and later arrested but as usual, she blamed it on the devil and the strange voice she claims she usually hears that urges her to go and steal.

The shop owner who was called later rushed to the scene, called in the police who whisked her away. But two days after, Yetunde was released which made the lady upset. She then called in another set of police men who have now re-arrested her. She’s in custody waiting to be charged to court.

Her sister, Bose Akilapa who is so upset about her sister’s dilemma, said their mother is behind Yetunde’s misfortune because she once cursed her.

Angry Bose is said to have gone to call her mother names asking her to reverse the curse and in-between the argument she tore her mother’s clothes.

Oyibo people will say Yetunde is suffering from ‘Kleptomania’.

Our people will say it is a spiritual problem.

Whatever it is, this young woman needs help and fast!

For sometime now there have been speculations that actress Lilian Esoro had called off her engagement to Ubi Franklin but it's like they are still engaged or may be not.

Since the cheating scandal which involves media personality Toke Makinwa, her hubby Maje Ayida and his alleged baby-mama-to-be, Anita Solomon, the Nigerian social media space has been set on fire.

Even after 24 hours, the fire is still on.


Not a lot is known about the mystery woman Anita Solomon, but we can authoritatively tell you that Toke Makinwa knew about her all the long.

According to Toke, Anita has been stalking her husband for a long time now.

“My husband had a stalker for years. She’s crazy. This girl would turn up in his house. The day I met her, she said I have a baby by him. You can’t come between the two of us. I started believing her because how can someone say to you that she has a 6 year old baby by this guy and I started fighting him, like you’re lying.

But later on, when I witnessed one of their showdown, she literally just showed up at his house unannounced and he had to call the cops and this girl stripped naked. I was embarrassed. She said to him, you don’t pick my phone calls…he had to change his phone three times because she would call non-stop. I walked into that situation. Being cheated on is probably the most devastating thing that can happen to a marriage, short of the other person dying. Actually, it can feel like your partner has died when you find out he (or she) has been cheating. It feels like what you had together died.

Following the cheating scandal that hit media personality and popular vlogger Toke Makinwa, we now offer seven things she should do.

1. She should not worry about it happening again because there’s a decent chance he might. Why? Whatever made him cheat is probably still in his psyche unless he is seriously working on all of his issues.

2. She should talk to him about the affair. If she has not, then she should! Why did he do it? What was missing from their relationship? What did he gain from cheating if anything?

4. She should cry: Being betrayed by a man you love so much hurts, hell it does, i know that pain! But shedding the tears is the best to get healed. If they aren’t coming naturally, she should put on some blues type music or watch a sad movie.

5. She should do a VLOG on the cheating scandal, everyone would watch it plus it will help her heal better!
