You know the good thing about surprise proposals, they make the ladies do things they never imagined!

Fashion blogger, Alma Ojugbana is now engaged and she had one of the best áww-inducing’ surprise proposals ever.

Her soulmate, Jesse Ngur popped the ‘will you marry’ question during the special dinner treat he had organized for her at Johnny Rockets restaurant in Abuja last night.


Jesse had panned with the staff of the restaurant and while they were having the romantic dinner date, a waiter approached Alma with the bill.

It was while going through the bill that Alma realized what the heck was going on and freaked out.

On seeing the ring, a surprised Alma ran away at first impulse, aww!

Shortly after, she bursted into tears, embraced Jesse and accepted the ring.

A Nigeria-Ghana wedding happened on the 11th of July, 2015 between Ellis Enobun & Priscilla Asafo-Asamoah.

The lovebirds who love to be addressed as the modern day ‘Adam and Eve’ met in 2012 and today they can’t do without each other.

How they met:

We met through a mutual friend who was my course mate. We got talking and I realized he was a young Evangelist and we shared similar childhood experiences, which resulted in us calling ourselves “TWEENY” on a friendly note. Initially there was no interest but I was intrigued by his passion for preaching the gospel even as a Lawyer.

Towards the middle of 2012 our communication became consistent. His charisma and confidence swept me off my feet and I started developing feelings for him, but was too shy to communicate it to him as his main focus was Ministry and Studies.

As an expression of my feelings for him, not knowing how he felt towards me, I extended an invite to him and his friends to come over to my flat regularly to have dinner, and boy! oh boy! did I cook them some exquisite Ghanaian dishes, which interestingly he loved as it was his first time eating Ghanaian meals.

Our bond grew stronger and Ellis became my source of encouragement when I was going through some difficult times. Through all these wonderful times, I knew he will be my soul mate. We have been together since that day.


The Proposal
I visited Ellis and his family in Nigeria in March 2013. One evening at the family house, he called me and told me his mom and himself wanted to have a chat with me.

I was nervous because I didn’t know what to expect. I sat there contemplating why the sudden call. Ellis’s mum beckon on him to talk. He started stuttering, and I was even more confused. His mum, laughing at him decided to tell me why I was called.

Since this was Ellis’ first relationship, he just didn’t know how to ask me to marry him. As his mum was speaking I noticed he was sweating profusely. Suddenly, in a blink of an eye, he summed up courage, got on his knees in the presence of his mum to ask me to be his wife. I was in shock and could not believe this. I was in tears whiles saying “YES YES YES”.

I immediately got hold of my phone and in tears called my dad in Ghana to tell him of what just happened. My dad was ecstatic and I later got to know he was in on the plans, as Ellis and my dad had earlier met in London to discuss.

I also found out later, that Ellis purchased a ring a year before meeting me in Leicester and somehow had faith that he will meet his future wife soon.It was the beginning of one of the most amazing days in my life and I bless God.

Biola and Tunde got married on Saturday, August 15 but they have shared their story and uber cool photos with us.

Tunde definitely scored major brownie points with his very ‘techy’ proposl, which happened via a customized app.
Tunde proposed to Biola on valentine’s day, last year at the prestigious Radisson Blu Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Proposal story (by Tunde)

Of course Proposing on Feb 14 is cliche, so I had to make sure this was memorable for her since thats what I planned to do. Just around Christmas I had her look at some rings online under the guise that my friend was looking for a ring to propose to his wife and i need her to pick what she thinks is the perfect proposal ring ( of course she only fell for the scam because she knew the said friend was really looking for a ring to propose with).

I also had a genius programmer friend of mine develop an app that will pop the question on her phone once i trigger it with a text from mine ( as a baddo i cant shout let the phone do all the work*wink*) Next I surmounted the task of installing the app on her phone without her knowledge which was not an easy task trust me (if u doubt me, try taking your babe phone from her for 30 minutes with no excuse).

On February 14, 2014, we planned to have dinner with some friends and family. We got to the restaurant late,the place was quite crowded and the service was poor on that day,Food arrived late, waiters that were meant to form a train in other to brace up my liver were too busy. Just before midnight when I was sure she had enjoyed what she thought was our planned Valentine dinner, I stood up pretended as if i was going to the toilet and texted her to initiate the app on her phone.

As she was reading those four word questions displayed on her phone with the option yes or no, I got on my knees with the ring she picked unknowingly in my right hand( I was feeling like a silver knight .. Lol).

When she realized what was happening, shawty left me on my knees ran like 100 miles in the restaurant screaming “Jesus !Jesus!its a lie! .When all eyes was getting on us, she came back changing the lyrics to YES YESSS YESSS YESSSSSSSSS.

When she pressed the yes button on her phone, it automatically sent text messages to some of her close friends numbers I already installed in the app relaying the news

Aww.

Just like it happens in the movies, these two, Mr and Mrs Arkle, got married at the same spot they met while in secondary school years back (8 years to be precise).

They got married at their secondary schools’ chapel.

“The memories we created at school are treasured forever in our hearts and being able to return to were it all began and take our vows in front of you all, is a dream come true!” they gushed.

Fun facts about them:

1. We’ve been boyfriend and girlfriend since we were 15 and Oliver proposed on our 8th year together.

2. Tayo initiated the first kiss.

3. We have the same size shoes. (much to Tayo’s despair)

4. We both had braces when we started to date.

5. Our first date was in Mc Donald’s.

6. For the year 2008 we spent the whole of lunch time (45mins) hugging in the playground.

7. We still own our first letters from Year 10. (2007)

8. Both of our initials are O.A.

9. We are honeymooning in Barbados!

Their beautiful love story:

Oliver and Tayo met in Year 7, at Archbishop Michael Ramsey Technology College back in 2003.

As fate would have it, they were placed in the same tutor group, and because they both have last names beginning with the letter ‘A’, spent most of their educational life sitting right next to each other.

It wasn’t until their school trip to Isle of Wight in 2006 that they really got to know each other. Whilst on the trip, Oliver was given the task of approaching Tayo in order to find out if she fancied Santiago, Oliver’s best friend.

It was at this time Oliver developed feelings for Tayo. After receiving Santiago’s blessing once they returned to London, he decided to ask Tayo out. Her first response was “no”, which she immediately felt terrible about. That night she phoned Oliver to see if he was ok; His mum answered the phone and after handing it to him, they began talking endlessly, initiating a beautiful friendship.

From then on, Oliver and Tayo were inseparable, they spoke on the phone almost every night and spent all their break time together. It was something they looked forward to every day. Oliver walked her to the bus stop and even joined her family church. They became closer, talking about literally everything under the sun; hopes, dreams, music, and football of course. The next 6 months would see them become best friends.

On April 27, 2007, after school (under the trees), Oliver snuck up behind Tayo with a beautiful gold necklace, placed it around her neck and quietly whispered in her ear, asking if she would be his girlfriend. Of course she couldn’t say no! (He had jewellery this time!) Tayo turned and jumped into him arms! The rest as they say, is history!

Popular Ghanaian Journalist and magazine publisher, Raymond Archer, has finally wedded his lover of two years, Nura Salifu (daughter of Salma Salifu, a well-known fashion designer).

The best part of the occasion was when the groom decided to convert from Christianity to Islam because of the marriage.

“I was born a Christian, baptized a Christian but all my friends are Muslims. I am making the decision and my parents and in-laws have been very supportive. My father has been very helpful and the understanding is there.” he said

They were joined in matrimony by 92-year-old Ghana’s National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu. The groom was given the Muslim name Abdul Aziz to mark his conversion.

The two-day affair took Accra by storm and the bride wore a total of seven outfits for the traditional engagement on the 8th of August 2015, and for the Nikkai the next day.

Just so you know, the twins were the most sought after guys in Babcock university just before their graduation in 2014.

How well do you think you know your man?

During her bridal shower which held a few weeks back, Lanre Adesoye (our bride who had a Nikhai and Church wedding) underwent a test.

For the test, she was blinfolded and asked to choose her husband by touching the face and head of the guys at the shower.


Luckily for her she passed, she knew her bobo’s head well.

We posted the video on our instagram page hours ago and it sparked quite a reaction.

Some opined that the game was a risky one “What if she chose someone else” while some others decided to go and study and learn the shape of their bobo’s head well so as to pass it during their bridal showers too.

Well, we say it is cute and should be practiced at all bridal showers.

Soon-to-wed couple Adams and Tbloom have graciously shared their love story and prewedding photos with us.

From the creative session, we see a princess and a soldier.

After running from danger, the princess was too tired to continue and sat at the foot of the wall, hoping and praying that help would.


After hours of search throughout the kingdom, the gallant soldier dressed in battle regalia came to the rescue!

In the actual sense, Adams is a soldier but Tbloom says he is the calmest and selfless soldier ever, aww!

“All that stuff about soldiers been mean, arrogant, wicked etc with him all that is zero. All I can say is that he’s my SIGNIFICANT OTHER , my everything BRIGHT and after God he’s my Shield.

Thier love story as narrated by Tbloom:

We met at Ouch Maryland where I worked at the time, he came to get a blazer he saw hanging while returning from work, I attended to him, got his contact for his invoice and for follow up. We gisted that day as I was trying to build customer relationship and he paid and left. On weekly basis I used to call customers that buy for the week to make them feel special and important and he was included.

From then on, he said something kept pushing him to call me and he was struggling not to but after some days he gave in and called to come take me home after work. I turned it down because at that point I knew that wasn’t customer behaviour again. I stayed away from his calls but not long after I did him the honors and he took me home. We later chatted via text that he wanted something serious, said he wanted to settle down and asked if I was seeing someone, told him yes and he apologized for intruding and said he would let me be.

In fact the next day he came on stronger, started calling to check up, showing care etc and that was how it all started. His proposal was his asking out lol, I told him we had to slow down because at the time I didn’t like the whole idea of using marriage to get to me then because I cared less about settling down. We started and in less than 5months we got planning.

The turn on for me was his passion, he wants something he gets it, his love, care, attention was 10/10, he’s just super.

A tragic incident occurred today on Liberty road, Igbala area, Sango Ota, Ogun state and right now (8:50pm), KemiFilaniBlog can authoritatively tell you that the parties involved, are still at the Sango Otta police station, ironing out the issue.
One of the landlords in the area (names withheld) was walking down the road when a young dark skinned guy in his mid-twenties approached him for financial aid.

"He looked desperate and pitiful. He said he needed N700 to get a particular drug for his sick mother,...i have never seen him but his pleas really moved. He said he dropped his last kobo on the lunch he bought for his sick mother and out of pity, I brought out N700 and gave him...but immediately i felt something hit me" the landlord narrated amidst tears.

Shortly after collecting the money, the young man thanked him, received a call and said "It was successful this time"...it was at that point that the landlord in question realized that his 'manhood' had disappeared.

"I couldn't feel it, i didn't understand what was happening but when i heard him talking on phone, i ran after him and held onto him and shouted...with the help of youths and passers by, we caught him and brought him here to the police station, he must restore my manhood if not he will not leave here alive" the landlord further narrated.

An eyewitness and resident in the area also told KemiFilaniBlog thus "It is not his first time, about this time last week, this man (culprit) asked me for exactly N700 to get drugs for his mum, exactly the same story but God saved me from giving him the money cos i didn't have any to give actually, he was really convincing and looked so innocent"

Upon being interrogated at the police station, the culprit began acting as if he was a mad man and refused to talk, two of the officers on duty tried dialing the last set of phone numbers he called on his mobile phone but the numbers are no longer going through.

Right now, family members, friends, neighbors are gathered at the Sango Otta police station.

We really hope the victim's manhood is restored.
