Christmyhope:Is there any state with defected governors that the existing APC members didn't resist the defection? Why was Plateau state different? In Enugu, Tinubu had to force the minister out and expel the existing APC excos out of the party. Delta is another state waiting to explode. Do you now agree that all is not well? |
thesolutions:Lol. Plateau people won't vote Muftwang under the APC. Modified: The news is apparently false though. https://punchng.com/plateau-denies-mutfwangs-defection-to-ypp/#google_vignette |
Typical Nigerian politician behaviour. Undermine the realities of others just because you think you are not affected. |
The former CDS, General Lucky Irabor also had some words for Wike yesterday. We are waiting to hear how he also tried to kill Wike. He should continue to insult serving and retired military personnel. Wike will inevitably be the Achilles heel of Tinubu.
|
Tuggar left an interview that is yet to be aired and proceeds to engage in public spats with the hosts. That alone tells us how the interview went. Just like Reno Omokri and Mike Arnold's saga, what was meant to be PR for the government has now become an indictment. Tinubu has the largest but yet, the most incompetent and lethargic cabinet in the history of this country. |
Lol. Do you mean like the police currently is? The military can only be subordinate to ONE civil authority in a democracy, the Commander-in-Chief. That designation can also neither be delegated nor transferred. |
oluwaseyi0:Oluwaseyi, but e reach Southerners turn and Tinubu corner everything for Yorubas. Now you're looking for Southern solidarity. You won with muslim-muslim ticket in 2023 but now attempting to pivot from that and win with regional sentiments in 2027. |
KingAzubuike:Okay. I know you get the point but if you don't, then Tinubu should appoint Wike as one to balance the scale. Case closed. |
Everybody appears to be gathering to cook beans for Wike. He must finish it. Here's the video of the erstwhile CDS, General Irabor condemning Wike's actions in very strong terms. The best time for Wike to apologise to the military was yesterday. The second best time is immediately.
|
Wike is still grandstanding and calling Generals and Admirals "former this and former that" in a condescending manner. He has no one to advise him. The current service chiefs will still pay compliments and salute their precedessors who Wike seek to disparage. He has been in elective and appointed positions all his life, so he thinks being a retired General or Vice Admiral is same thing as seeing out your tenure as a governor or minister. |
That was very unnecessary from Tuggar. No need to be on the defensive even before the interview is aired. The inexperience continue to manifest. Nigerian politicians are not used to media scrutiny and drilling. They see it as an attack. The downsides of having a compromised and captured media in-country. |
Biodun556:Lol. If that was the case, how come Wike has folded? They no dey pay to dey learn lesson.
|
Wike is costing the president huge political capital. I hope Gbadorians are feeling the pulse of FCT residents? They are counting on Wike to deliver Abuja to Tinubu. Even Wike is fast learning that the FCT is not Port-Harcourt. Wike continues to refer to the Vice Admiral as "former". That's a huge mistake. Even the current chiefs will feel slighted because they remain loyal and are boys to those "formers". |
Biodun556:So, after the call, he will make the issue go away and let him keep the land, right? So, what happens to those with no access to Wike? Their lands can be summarily revoked and handed out to family and cronies right? You don't want strong institutions, you want strong men. This makes the title of the thread hypocritical. |
Biodun556:The jokes write themselves. Wike is the inventor of impunity. Imagine him saying the Vice Admiral should have called him about the land, like Obasanjo and T.Y Danjuma had done. In other words, he wants to be lobbied so he can have the Vice Admiral in his debts and brag about it in a media chat 5 years down the line. Nigerians want strong institutions, not strong men. |
Like Lagos, like Abuja. Abuja is now very dirty and filthy with heaps of garbage at every street and corner. This is the case even in highbrow areas like Asokoro and Maitama. The satellite towns are worse. In the midst of all these, Wike is only interested in grabbing land for his family and cronies. It's so bad that it was discussed at plenary at the house of reps today. Wike should sit up and do his job. Abuja is fast becoming Rumuokoro.
|
zeuss:The C-in-C title can neither be transferred nor delegated. There's only one GCFR. Executive and international functions of the president can be delegated but not his authority as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. Nothing will happen. The FCDA already took their bulldozers out of the site. Tinubu knows better than to have an appointee gain victory over his armed forces, even if symbolic or for the optics. |
Mrchippychappy:Agbadorians now lump themselves together with the Igbos? Wonerful! Tinubu has been cornering all appointments and projects meant for the entire South to Yorubaland, has anyone forcefully prevented him from doing so? What's with this false move of now attempting to form Southern solidarity? Are you no longer asking South-Easterners to leave your states? |
buygala:Your lineage probably have no one brave enough to enroll into the armed forces. It's the most noble profession in the world but I don't expect your ilk to understand. Generals don't retire. They leave active service and go into the reserves. They can be called upon to serve again during wars or whenever the nation requires it. |
Being a General is not an appointment. It's a professional milestone attained through military exploits, sweat, blood and tears. Is there any such thing as a former doctor or former professor? Infact, when it comes to the military, the older, the more respected. IBB remains a rallying point and godfather of many of today's military Generals because a lot of them swore allegiance to him at their NDA POP during his regime as head of state. They remain loyal till date. |
Where are the projects that all these loans are going towards? |
owobokiri:Okay. They didn't get it the right way. It took the coming of Wike after several FCT ministers to discover that and rightfully hand it over to Joan and Joaq Farms and Estates, and to cronies like Kingsley Chinda. Don't think what he did in Port-Harcourt, forcefully grabbing lands at Slaughter market and several other places for his Hyper-city malls and filling stations are unknown to Nigerians. Let him continue. |
Earlier in the year, Wike revoked the C of O of the residence of the first man to join the NDA and reallocated it to his friend, Kingsley Chinda. He has taken it upon himself to square with serving and retired military officers, indiscriminately revoking properties that previous administrations have rightfully allocated to them. All green areas in the FCT have been converted and reallocated to friends and cronies, putting the environmental sustainability of the FCT at risk. He continues to be accommodated, aided, and abetted by Tinubu. All the FG does is to order probe with no action taken. What's the outcome of the probe ordered on Wike's allocation of hectares of choice lands to his sons? https://x.com/Verydarkbackman/status/1988693781982638421 |
IJAYA001:If his own deputy will not decamp to the APC due to the sentiments of his people, how does Diri intend to deliver Bayelsa to Tinubu? Diri is already on his second term as governor, he has nothing to lose. Contrary to how you lot try to pretend, Tinubu will still struggle across the Southern states outside the SW. |
madridguy:Enroll into the Army. Your mates and younger Nigerians are putting their lives on the line, securing this country only to have a thieving political appointee attempt to dress them down in public while being applauded by your comrades. |
SisterAnn:Buratai was right. What Wike did yesterday could easily have set off a chain reaction that would be detrimental to the stability of this country, especially in this charged times of domestic and foreign tension. |
Scammed indeed. Wike believes every allocation prior to his coming as minister are invalid. He is embarking on a revocation and reallocation spree which is illegal, targeting mostly retired and serving military personnel. The FCT Minister can only revoke a land in overriding public interest (for schools, roads, bridges, security, or environmental reasons, etc). Reallocating revoked lands to friends, family and cronies does not qualify as overriding public interest. |
SmartPolician:Lol. Are you sure about that one? Power is an illusion. In the words of Varys, "Power resides where men believe it resides." Even Buhari kept his service chiefs longer than usual for good reasons. To keep the balance of power intact, even the president cannot be seen to be undermining his military. |
Evergreen4:He will be even more pained when he listens to this message from the Inspector General of police. The verdict is out. Wike has been thrown under the bus. He's all alone in this.
|
At least the president has proven to be smarter than most of his "allies" and Agbadorians online. One was advising the president to put out a statement reassuring Wike.
|
aribisala0:Succinct. In contrast, both of Buhari’s ADC were fit, packard, and sharp looking. That alone inspires fear and commands respect from the military and civilians alike. Aside from the pot-belly, the current one has been caught slacking multiple times. |
