ShenTeh:The joke is on you. The North comprises 3 zones, NW, NE and NC. Is the South comprised of only SW? Buhari distributed projects and appointments equitably across these 3 zones in the North, is Tinubu doing the same? Northerners from these 3 zones massively voted for Buhari, I hope Southerners from all 3 zones (SW, SS and SE) will massively vote for Tinubu? Don't forget that the "Northern tear-bearers" gave Tinubu 5.6m votes after he managed to win only 4 Yoruba states in the entire South. Buhari delivered these projects in the Southwest; Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Lagos-Ibadan Railway, Badagry-Apapa Road, Lekki Deep Seaport, Murtala Muhammed International Airport terminal, and several other projects. In summary, Buhari gave the Southwest roads, rails, airports and seaports. Fashola was Buhari’s most powerful minister with initial 3 solid portfolios of Power, Works and Housing. List the projects of Tinubu in the North that is commensurate. Time is a gentleman. |
Throwback:The topic of the thread may not also be a crime depending on where you're standing and what your morals are. I'm not here to tell you what constitutes a crime and what does not. Don't just come here and pontificate that the defections are not backed by inducements and incentives. If money is being splurged on other arms and tiers of government in exchange for support, it is tantamount to state capture. Little wonder why there's no sense of accountability. They feel their victory at the polls was purchased so they can do and undo. |
Richtaiwo:Keep burying your head in the sand. One of his first decisions as president was to triple the emoluments and entitlements of judges while raising the constituency allowance of lawmakers to one billion naira. These are publicly available facts. Bold of you to assume that all the defecting politicians are doing so without no inducement. Even characters like Reno Omokri and Father Kukah made an about-turn because they now believe in Tinubu. |
yarimo:Of course. Your tin-god is desperate. Exclusive on SaharaReporters. This is where the subsidy savings and borrowed loans are going towards. Just like the coup story, you will deny it as usual until you no longer can. https://saharareporters.com/2025/11/07/exclusive-tinubu-government-gifts-each-governor-joining-apc-n250billion-senator

While mandate standers are standing on Tinubu's mandate, Tinubu himself is about to be mandated to protect Nigerians and do his job. Trump, you do this one o! |
All these statements from other foreign governments will only strengthen Trump's resolve the more. It is counterproductive. |
The plan was to use apparatus of state to destroy all opposition parties and ask the governors, "Who will sign your form?"" They thought they had succeeded in turning Nigeria into a one-party state, and the coming of the pressure from Trump reintroduced a new dynamic they never saw coming. The event that will determine the trajectory of the 2027 elections has not materialised yet. |
Take away SaharaReporters and insecurity will never get reported again. This goes to show the level of media compromise and news suppression, but Trump and the US have all the data, despite the denials and surface dressings. |
Reno, the vice president in waiting, contributed in no small way to all these. |
Karma. In just over two years in office, he created friction between our next-door neighbours, balkanised ECOWAS, encouraged toxicity between different ethnicities in Nigeria and is now in the middle of an unprecedented global scrutiny and interference. A master strategist indeed. |
Ttalk:Excuse me, who are you again? If there's nothing to be feared with Trump taking out the terrorists, why is the Tinubu government creating so much hullabaloo about it? Shouldn't they be welcoming Trump? Lol. |
grandstar:Go watch Emefiele's old videos. Buharinomics was centered around Dangote's refinery coming on stream before the phased removal of subsidy. It was the garrulous Tinubu who came and abruptly removed subsidy prematurely, skyrocketing inflation and exchange rate simultaneously. Make no mistakes, it is the coming onboard of Dangote that has given this government a little respite. We could have attained even more without the attendant pain and disruption we are currently facing, which is actually eroding all perceived gains. |
LagosOrigin:The master strategist haven't slept a wink since all these started. He probably misses his trips to France more than any other thing. |
Where is Reno Omokri in the midst of all these? Tinubu's foreign policy propagandist-in-chief and ambassador-at-large is nowhere to be found after contributing in no small way to stoke the fire. We warned that charlatans like Reno will turn out to be net-negative for Tinubu but they wouldn't listen. They preferred buying him off and wooing him over to their side while discarding people of substance that actually put in work to actualize their victory. |
Orlandoo:Labelling all their intellectual and contemporary politicians "betrayers" is how the tin-god has managed to perpetrate himself in power for two decades and counting. Fashola, Aregbesola, Osinbajo, Fayemi, Ambode and even recently, Sanwo-olu. The list goes on. |
Love to see it. Even Osinbajo is beginning to throw subtle shots at Tinubu. His brief campaign speech during the APC primaries rings true, even to this day. "Vote for who you know. Don't vote for who you do not know." |
I won't be surprised. There were also allegations that even some ministerial candidates and other appointees had to lobby with money to be considered. It's a bazaar for all and sundry under this government. Everyone is shielded so as long as they sing the mandate song and wear the cap with the slave chain insignia. |
Ezeama400:You didn't lie. The so-called non-kinetic approach and "peace deals" with gun-wielding terrorists was the last straw that broke the camel's back.
|
The unity begging is now on overdrive. A few weeks ago, the vileness was palpable, calling for the cancellation of shows over spelling and screaming, "Go back to your states." Today, they want "citizens" to rally behind their ethnic president. We warned that the state-backed ethnocentrism in the midst of arrogant nepotism was bound to misfire, but they failed to listen. The United States have dedicated analysts that gauge the mood of each and every country. Trump was probably informed that Nigerians are now more divided than they have ever been, hence his decision to strike. |
Loans with no tangible results or verifiable projects. Tinubu thought his embrace of neo-liberal policies of the Worldbank and IMF would make him the darling of the West but that has proven not to be the case under Donald Trump. He's now under immense pressure. At least, Nigerians saw the tangible projects that Chinese loans under Buhari provided. Roads, rails, bridges, airports and seaports. Nothing to show under Tinubu. |
F9 in diplomacy 101. Don't go namedropping unless you are ready for the attention. This man has proven to be a local and regional champion who's only specialty is crude underhand politics of "snatch it and grab it". He posesses neither the network and global respect of Obasanjo nor the charisma and swag of Buhari. His first international appointment was as chairman of ECOWAS and ECOWAS got balkanised under his watch. A testament of his divisive politics. |
This message seems directed at yet another Tinubu's ally, Helinues. |
LegendHero:Elrufai is nobody but you lifted the comment of someone off twitter, created a thread on Nairaland and claimed he's an ally of Elrufai. Why does it matter? For y'all sakes, I hope Tinubu has another strategy beyond relying on the decamping governors. The event that will determine the trajectory of the 2027 elections has not yet materialised. This latest Trump debacle is just a tip of the iceberg. There will be more intrigues. Time is a gentleman. A few weeks ago, you were all over the place screaming "go back to your states" but have now been kept so busy by Trump's threat that you forgot to be a buygot. Will the Owambe Exhibition still be cancelled or not? Last we saw of Bayo Onanuga was him championing national unity along with the minister of information. Wonderful! |
Elrufai's ally indeed. I hope Helinues can also be referred to as Tinubu's ally. Gbadorians are really funny. Do you all still need the votes of the core North? What happened to your Southern and middlebelt alliance? Keep seeking the validation of Elrufai. Uzo Art just announced the date for her Owambe exhibition. It's been dead silence from the Agbado camp. No more "go back to your state". The new mantra is "One Nigeria". Trump, you do this one! |
Predictor3:Answer the question. At what point did Tinubu discover this affinity for fulani marauders? Was it before he begged him on stage to work with him or after he took him to Chatham house and everywhere else during his campaign? Elrufai is fulani but his stance on how to deal with the terrorists have always been clear and well documented. He refused to negotiate with bandits when governors like the current minister of defence were doing so with no success in their states. He rather recommended that the forests be carpet-bombed, damning the consequences. It's no surprise that the current government is now deploying a strategy of negotiating with bandits, applying cosmetic band-aids over cancerous gangrenes for temporary victories. They are surrounded by people who did the same as governors. https://thenationonlineng.net/el-rufais-proposal-on-bombing-bandits-villages/amp/ |
Predictor3:What do you label him as and at what point did he become a terrorist to you? Was it after he worked hard to deliver you tin-god as president or before you betrayed him? Don't forget that this "terrorist" has been DG BPE during Obasanjo (arguably the best ever), Minister of the FCT (arguably the best ever) and governor of Kaduna state for two terms (winning with over a million votes on both occassions and still arguably the best ever). Don't forget that this "terrorist" continues to walk free in and out of the country and his opinions on Nigeria's political future are still being sought by Washington D.C. What manner of terrorist is that? Is he really a terrorist or you gave a dog a bad name in order to hang it? |
Where then are all the much touted revenue going to? Buying out state governors and other politicians to decamp? We still have record numbers in foreign and domestic borrowings by this government. We are still borrowing to finance 2025 budget in October while the budget of 2024 is still running concurrently.
|
9jatriot:Can someone who you claim is viewed with suspicion globally be invited as a special guest by the top echelon of the United States to deliver a talk on Nigeria's political future? Why has Tinubu been unable to secure a visit to the U.S as a sitting president? Continue to fly your propaganda about Elrufai while he walks free inside and outside of the country. Why hasn't Tinubu persecuted Elrufai since you claim he's guilty? Doesn't this lend credence to the insinuation that the government is culpable? The joke is on you. Ironically, Reno Omokri was outside of the Chatham house protesting against Tinubu for being a drug lord while Elrufai was helping Tinubu to answer a question on insecurity inside. Ingratitude and betrayal is not a virtue.
|
Continue to make yourself happy. The United States have all the data that even Nigeria doesn't have. Elrufai was in the US few months ago. He was invited by the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington D.C. to give a lecture on leadership. Tinubu can't even secure a visit to U.S to meet with Trump as a sitting president. The bitter truth is that Tinubu will have benefitted from the vast network and intellect of Elrufai in times like these. Just as he did during his equally arranged visit to Chatham house. All Tinubu has in his corner today are misfits like Reno Omokri, Daniel Bwala and Bayo Onanuga. They are the only ones visibly running from pillar to post with no headway or results.
|
This is more serious than the Nigerian government seem to be taking it. The only problem with a US military intervention in Nigeria is that it may end up opening a new front for radical terrorists to migrate enmass into the country to supposedly fight this "jihad". |
Orlandoo:Pastor Reno Omokri prophecied it. Now it's happening.
