Hello Nairalanders,

I'm Seun, the founder of Nairaland. Talk to me about what Nairaland is like for you. What's good and what's not so good right now.

I've been more focused on the backend and working on new features. It seems as if the moderation and other issues have fallen behind.

So, talk to me. What should we focus on in order to encourage you to start being more active on Nairaland?

PS: I have people dropping me messages presuming that Nairaland is over. What's that about?

Please bring back some of your good past Mods.

Where is Nwamaikpe and Lalaclasticlala?
Some of us have been here since 2007 but hardly comment. I do however enjoy reading other people's comments though. There are so many smart and intelligent contributors here.

Lastly, during the 2023 elections, the site became very toxic, partisan and almost tribalised.

Not surprised that it's the same "teachings of Jesus" that I came here preaching as my word, instead of the Bible, which drew the ire and fury of many 'Christians" here, but has continued to distinguish itself from the rest, as it's now being confirmed by others around the world, including some of the most respected preachers of this generation.

Now it seems to be the Words or teachings of Jesus specifically, instead of the Bible, which is drawing the richest and arguably most influential man on earth, to Jesus, yet again proving itself to be the greatest and most powerful tool on earth to win souls to Christ.

It's no surprise it's the teachings of Jesus, that Jesus Himself commanded His disciples to teach all men to observe, not the Bible. Matthew 28:20

Jesus should always know better on how to win souls into His kingdom.

What is the difference between the words of Jesus Christ and the Bible?

We believe in the Bible because of Jesus Christ and not in Jesus Christ because of the Bible.

The Bible esp the 4 gospels are simply a sort of histo-biography of Jesus of Nazareth. They record what he said and did. The gospels are true and trustworthy. So it's perfectly okay to say the Bible which records the activities and teachings of Jesus can be studied to meet Jesus and then God through Jesus Christ. So? Yes the Bible documents Jesus' words.

Again, no one cares whether you believe in a God or deity or not. You don't have any empirical evidence against the existence of gods or God. You don't .No one has. And you also don't have any empirical evidence against haunted homes. You don't . You can't produce any.

The woman may be wrong. She could be right. You are also right to say this may ruin house values for the owner. You could just stay on that reasonable point and don't ruin it with your dash into religious beliefs of others which are warranted and legitimately justified for them.

Be respectful too when discussing people's mothers.
You could disagree with the mum respectfully and your point will be noted. Disrespect don't add values to discussions or arguments.

You claiming not to believe in gods or deities don't make any difference to others' beliefs in gods or deities. Not like you have any empirical proof of non existence of gods or the woman's claims.

She may be right. She may be wrong. If she has reasons for her claims and can convincingly back them up, that's fine.

People have experienced haunted homes and legitimately documented their experiences. That may not be the same in this case. But then such claims are valid

Happily married for 15 years.
We support ourselves. She helps out more than I do. I only support during weekends but she supports all the time. Nothing hard here unless you don't love your wife.

If yes, then you would have known it's normal in happy normal homes.

Smart men support their wives at home in everything.
That is what beings stability and peace at home.
You won't have to force love and submission from your wife as it will flow naturally.

Forget all the hot false takes you see online. This is a normal thing for many stable and lovely homes.

Same thing that came to mind...

It rarely has gear issues.
It's the legs and suspension you should be concerned about. Also ensure regular servicing as the aluminum engine doesn't like overheating.

If the car overheats anytime, just stop and park it. Else some things may melt and damage.

I am about to get my first car. It's in Lagos I am in Rivers State . It's Naija use

My cousin source it for me and he sent a mechanic to go check it out . It's price at 8M.

Before I buy this , what common problems does it have?.

There is nothing wrong with this car.
I have used it for for almost 5 years now, travelled with my family and heavy load 3 times from the North Central to the East and back without any issue.

Common issues: the parts are relatively more expensive than Toyota but are durable when original part is purchased.

The brake will require regular maintenance.

The legs...bushing, camber, tie rods should be checked regularly.

The engine is aluminum. Don't let your oil fall below the gauge and you will be fine.

Strong, fuel efficient, rugged, finer than it's Toyota equivalents, and currently common in many cities

What you said made a whole lot of sense.It just baffles me how some of these nairaland prefects jump run around frm thread to thread sowing seeds of hatred and tribalism even when it is uncalled for. For many years I had just observed as a guest.I just had to log in and let these guys know that all their plots are at best counter-productive.Little wonder this site is somewhat living on its past glory.the owner of this site had better called them to order or else he will wake up one day and see that what he worked hard to build had been destroyed by a few fellows who do not understand simple tolerance and restraint in a diverse cultured existence.
