Exactly my position. All these tested men have failed. Obi did nothing extraordinary during his reign as a governor, Atiku also has nothing special to offer, Amaechi na the same story so I can't understand why we should be running round all these men that battered the country. My support is for Sowore.. he hasn't been tested so we can try him
Obi did extraordinarily. Seek Information and cure your Ignorance. Read Obi's matchless achievements as anambra Governor.

INTRODUCTION OF CONSTITUTIONAL AND OTHER MAJOR CHANGES IN NIGERIAN POLITICS

*He was the first gubernatorial candidate in Nigeria to legally challenge to its logical conclusion, his governorship electoral victory that was denied him. He won in the Courts and reclaimed his mandate.

*He was the first Governor in Nigeria to legally challenge his wrongful impeachment and was reinstated by the Courts.

*He was the first Governor in Nigeria to seek the interpretation of tenures of Governors when INEC allowed elections to take place in Anambra State when his tenure had not expired; the election already concluded was cancelled and he was allowed to complete his tenure.

*He was the first Governor to serve a 2nd term in both the new and old Anambra State, that is, almost 40 years after creation of the State.

*He was the first Governor, whilst still in Office, to be appointed a Special Adviser to the President.

*He was the first serving Governor to be appointed into the Presidential Economic Management Team.

*He was among the first Governors to be honoured with a National Award in 2011, while still in office.

*Though the only Governor whose political party was in government in only one State, he was elected Vice-Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum twice.

*Though the only non-PDP Governor in the South-East (made up of 5 States), he was elected by the other 4 PDP Governors as their Chairman for 8 years rather than the usual one year.

FUNDAMENTAL ACHIEVEMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF ANAMBRA STATE (PARTIAL LISTING)

1. Anambra was the first State to commence Sub-Sovereign Wealth savings, the first of its kind in Sub-Saharan Africa. At a time many other Governors were leaving huge debts, I left the equivalent of $500 million Dollars in investment as well as local and foreign currency, including $156 million in Dollar-denominated bonds.

2. For the first time in the history of Anambra State, Ambassadors and High Commissioners of notable countries such as United Stated, Britain, Russia, European Union, South Africa, Belgium, Israel, the Netherlands, Canada, among others, visited the State. Before my tenure, Anambra was practically a pariah state blacklisted by the Diplomatic Corps and international development partners.

3. Development partners such as UNDP, UNICEF, the World Bank, DFID, the European Union etc., which hitherto were not in Anambra State started working with the State. Anambra was consistently adjudged one of the best states in development partnership and commitment to reforms for good governance.

4. He was recognised as Best Governor by the Millennium Development Goals Office (OSSAP-MDGs) and the UNDP in the implementation of their programmes in Nigeria.

5. The Nigerian Debt Management Office (DMO) rated Anambra as the least indebted state in Nigeria. In spite of visible and measurable achievements recorded in various sectors, the State under him did not borrow or raise bonds for her various projects.

6. The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria rated Anambra State as the most financially stable state in the country.

7. The State's ground-breaking return of schools to their original owners - Voluntary Agencies (Churches) on 1st January 2009, and subsequent partnership with the Agencies in Education, saw the State move from 24th position out of 36 States to Number One in National Examination Council (NECO) and West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations for three consecutive years. This made the World Bank to commission a study, led by the renowned Prof. Paul Collier of Oxford University, on this revolutionary partnership and phenomenal achievement.

8. The State also entered into strategic partnership with the Churches in the Health sector. This symbiotic relationship resulted in a tremendous boost to health care because of the services offered by health institutions owned by Voluntary Agencies, while the State restored grants to the agencies and made available to them more than 50 million Dollars in various types of support.

10. Through partnership with the Church in the Health sector, his Government funded the transformation of -:

a: Iyienu Hospital, Ogidi;
b: Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Ihiala;
c: St Charles Borromeo Hospital, Onitsha;
d: Holy Rosary Hospital, Waterside, Onitsha; and
e: St. Joseph Hospital, Adazi-Nnukwu.
His Government also built the Joseph Nwilo Heart Centre in St. Joseph, Adazi-Nnukwu, where heart operations are now being performed.

11. His Government won the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (1 Million dollars) as the best-performing state in immunisation in the South-East. With complementary funding from our Government, they used the money to build 10 Maternal and Child Care Centres across the State, particularly in rural communities, in partnership with the Churches.

12. The State was the first to procure and distribute more than 30,000 computers to secondary schools, including 22,500 from HP. The Managing Director for Personal Systems Group HP Inc, Mr. FabriceCampoy described the deployment as the biggest of such projects in the Middle-East and Africa.

13. Anambra State Government provided Microsoft Academies to more than 500 secondary schools, which the Head of Microsoft in Nigeria (Mr. Ken Span) described as the biggest such deployment in Africa so far.

14. The State provided Internet access to more than 500 secondary schools, which the CEO of Galaxy Backbone (Mr. Gerald Ilukwe) characterized as incomparable to any in the country.

15. More than 700 buses were provided to secondary schools in the State by our Government.

16. Boreholes were provided in schools all over the State.

17. Numerous classrooms were built in all the 177 communities of the State.

18 As part of the efforts to turn around the economy of the State, a number of companies were attracted to build their facilities in the Anambra State. A case in point is SABMiller, the 2nd largest brewery in the world, which built their first Green Field facility in the State, which is today one of the most successful facilities they operate globally.

19. A number of other companies followed the SABMiller initiative and were all supported and encouraged under our Government; a good example is INNOSON Motor Manufacturing Company, from which our government bought more than 1,000 vehicles.

20. Anambra State for the first time started close collaboration with recognized government security agencies (the Police, Army, Navy, Department of State Security, Civil Defence, among others), offering them various types of support including provision of more than 500 security vehicles. The improvement in security was phenomenal, such that the former IG of Police (Abubakar Mohammed) lauded Anambra State for not witnessing any bank robbery in my last three years in office.

21. To further enhance security, Anambra State provided at least one security vehicle to each of all the 177 communities in the State as well as various organizations such as markets and Churches.

22. His Administration conceived and built, from scratch, the first state-owned Teaching Hospital, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu teaching Hospital, Awka.

23. His Government commenced the planned development of the Igbariam Campus of the ChukwuemekaOdumegwu-Ojukwu University, including the fencing, construction of internal roads, electrification, construction of the Faculty of Law, Auditorium, Administrative Block, Faculty of Agriculture, Management Building, among others).

24. His Government attracted the World Bank support on erosion - National Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) - to Anambra State.

25. His Government was the first to do Poverty Mapping in Nigeria, as a guide for the effective implementation of our poverty-alleviation strategies.

26 His Government, for the first time, undertook the aerial mapping of Awka as well as the production of Structure Plans for Awka Capital Territory, Onitsha and Nnewi.

27. During his tenure and with his Government's support, Anambra State became an oil producing State.

28. He built the first Secretariat Complex to house State Government Ministries that were hitherto scattered around the State.

29. His government commenced the development of the 'Three Arms Zone' comprising Government House/Governor’s Lodge, Legislative Building/Speakers Residence, and Judiciary Building with Chief Judge’s Residence.

30. By the end of his tenure in 2014, more than twelve (12) health institutions, including two hospitals, had secured accreditation; when we took off in 2006, no health institution in Anambra State was duly accredited.

31. Anambra State was the first to undergo national peer review, which scrutinised State Governments for good governance, through the State Peer Review Mechanism (SPRM), an initiative of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum in collaboration with the DFID.

If Obi signs this unity agreement, I will confirm his political naivety. Once that primary is not limited to only Southern candidates whom it is the turn of their region to produce the presidential candidate based on the principle of rotatable observed by all major political parties, then ADC is certainly an SPV for a northern candidate to snatch power.
Then Tinubu would have won the entire South before midday on election day.

PoliticsRe: Open Letter To Mr. Peter Obi: Nigerians Deserve More Than Talking Points by Amumaigwe: 9:35am On Jul 12, 2025
franchasofficia:
Wow, I love this.

Thank you Mr writer, we cherish honest, detribalized Nigerians like you who have an open mind.

As someone close to Peter Obi and one of his ardent supporter till the day he disappoints, I will respond to some on his behalf.

First, let me correct you, other regimes didn't delay the removal of petrol subsidy, instead it was Bola Tinubu himself that sabotaged and campaigned against the removal of petrol subsidy during Goodluck Jonathan's regime which would have been the best period to remove petrol subsidy when Ngozika Okonjo-Iweala that knows better advocated for it, Tinubu mobilized Nigerians from Ojota to protest against it until Goodluck being a listening and empathetic President listened and canceled the petrol subsidy removal. Now let's move forward haven set the records straight.

If you observe closely, Tinubu's regime copies a lot of Peter Obi's plan, they silently listens to Peter Obi and implement some of Obi's blueprint, I commend Tinubu on that.

Some of such blueprints are:

1.) State Police which Obi have been hammering on. Tinubu quicky dished it out but he still doesn't have the full confidence to fully implement it because he is scared that Governors, especially Northern Governors could use it against him in 2027.

Obi would have set the ball of State Police rolling since and by now, we would have been at the stage of assessing it's effectiveness and discussing how to refine it and correct some negativities in State Police, but Tinubu is not ready to implement it until he wins 2027 reelection.

2.) Second is, let me not go there for now.

Let's talk about Peter Obi's consumption to production economy blueprint. Mind you, I won't go into details because eyes are watching, Obi and we his close supporters have learned some lessons and still learning to guard our words.

You removed subsidy, if truly you did, trillions have been saved from doing that, what do you do with the trillions saved? Reinvest or re channel it to a more productive venture and be honest about it. The coastal highway from Lagos to Calabar is a national waste, it will add no economic value to Nigeria of today. We need short term and long term economic plans but with more focus on the short term plans to get us out of the woods faster before we are caught up.

The North have a versed fertile land that can turn Nigeria to agro hub of Africa and the world if managed properly. Why not channel part of the trillions saved from subsidy removal to that sector and forget about the coastal highway to perdition, a conduit pipe for looting?

Take State Policing serious to return safety to the North to encourage farmers to go back to their farms?

You want a productive economy and you still peg interest rate at about 25 to 30%, how do you expect production factories and entrepreneurs to borrow at such ridiculous rate and meet up? That interest rate is too high for a nation that wants to boost local production, Tinubu should take my tip and work on it.

Creating Blue economy ministry or so is not enough, what realistic projects have they embarked on or rolled out to empower Nigerian youths in reality and not just on paper and on media propaganda?

How can you remove petrol subsidy and also unpeg the FX at the same time and not expect a crippling economy afterwards? You do these things in batches while you observe the effects of each till things come in place.

Devaluation of Naira when Nigeria isn't exporting large quantity of finished products is shooting yourself on the leg.

Who said importation cripples a nation's economy? The only thing you must do is to ensure that you are exporting as much as you are importing until you are balanced enough to export more. But tightening import duties and restricting major/critical goods from being imported when you aren't comparatively producing enough locally will boomerang; it is the reason for the high cost of goods and hunger in Nigeria.

You focus on the things you have comparative advantage not otherwise.

If your climate is not good enough to produce enough local rice to feed your population at affordable price, why not forget about local production and import it and channel your energy and resources to other grains that you have a comparative advantage to grow locally instead of stopping rice importation that you know your climate cannot allow you to produce locally at a cheaper price than import no matter how much you invest in it?

America is a heavy import nation that depend hugely on China because many products they need are better imported cheaper from China while they focus on other goods they have comparative advantage on to boost their economy.

China does same.

Let me stop here, we don't want to be giving free economic blueprint again, I can be consulted for an affordable fee wink

Why is Tinubu scared of reforming our electoral system to make sure Nigerians elect their preferred leaders; from LGA to Federal level? That act alone will change the destiny of Nigeria for good because as soon as Nigerian politicians realize that only the people's votes can put and return them to office, they will start doing everything possible to lead well to please the masses and not some elites. It will reduce leadership corruption and negligence because every elected leader in Nigeria will take their role serious. Tinubu should work on that, Peter Obi will overhaul Nigeria's electoral system whether it would favor him or not, he will do it as a legacy he will be forever remembered for.

Court and Judges shouldn't be the people deciding who should lead Nigeria as it is today. Why must few men who call themselves Supreme Court Judges be the ones to decide the fate of electoral candidates after election? We must do a way with that to achieve a better nation if we are to remain one nation.
Thanks for this robust reply. They claim to be doing well, yet rig every election in collaboration with the INEC and Judiciary. Why not allow the voters be the true appraisers of their performance by allowing free and fair elections?

If he claims to be indigne of Lagos using his NIN as a unique identity of his personality from that state, how come the same man with same NIN suddenly switched to Anambra as indigne to attempt cheating the system in fraudulent scandal and you are supporting him and even trying to cover up his criminality?

A fraudulent system can be identified at any stage of verification or institution. Weather his school spotted that or JAMB spotted that is not the issue, the issue is why having fraudulent mindset to cheat the system? How are we sure he will not meet his type of fraudulent mindset in the same school that will allow such and cover it up like you if JAMB don't detect that at this stage. If investigation finds him to be the fault, he should be stripped off the two admissions to serve as lesson that fraudulent activities are not good. Never covers up illegality, it is a crime!

True Partnership in Relationships

You and your partner must work hand in hand.

If one of you is earning more, that should never breed jealousy or insecurity.

Sadly, many men struggle with the idea of their spouse being more successful. Some would even go as far as asking her to stop a thriving business — not because it's wrong, but because their ego is bruised.

Notice I said, "most men" — not all.

But this mindset is toxic to growth.
Marriage or relationship is not a competition.
It’s a partnership.

Your partner’s success is your success.
When they rise, you both rise.

You’ll thrive more in love when you stop competing and start supporting each other fully.
Most men can't stand the haughtiness of a successful lady.

Dear Follow Obidients,

As a core supporter of Obidients Movement, H.E Peter Obi and as Ada Anambra State, I THINK it will be wise we Unitedly, collectively and collaboratively rally with, for and behind ATIkU's Presidency in and towards this 2027 General Election.

From the Analysis Kenneth Okonkwo gave, I think it will be a great strategy we obidients and other meaningful Nigerians support H.E Atiku to remove this calamity called APC that has brought extreme Hardship, Hunger, Insecurity, etc

However, I will advise his H.E Peter Obi not to deputize Atiku but fully support Atiku's candidacy. Rotimi Amaechi should Deputize Atiku on this one, then in 2031 we (Obidients, well meaning Nigerians and Peter Obi) will go again knowing fully well the POWER OF INCUMBENT is solidly behind Peter Obi. Since H.E Atiku has always clamoured and proposed to do just one term in times past, nevertheless, this agreement must be written, signed and upheld by all parties and stakeholders of this coalition. We don't even know the agreement Peter Obi, Atiku and the stakeholders have initially agreed BEFORE COMING TOGETHER under ADC.

This will also solidify our relationship with the Northerners who have the numbers (and never forgets) and the South, most especially the Easterners and other meaningful Nigerians of other regions that have the momentum and wants/needs this APC of setbacks, Hunger and Hardship, Insecurity, etc to be removed even if they make Seyi Tinubu INEC chairman. This setbacks, Hunger, Hardship, Insecurity, etc affects all TRIBES, RELIGIONS & REGIONS without exception.

Just like one monicker here on nairaland always and jokingly says "Any party to remove this APC is a welcome development even if it's a Birthday Party" grin cool

Read below (with open-mindset) the Analysis by Kenneth Okonkwo especially the last 2 paragraphs and share your thoughts in the comment section below.

POLITICAL ANALYSIS BY KENNETH OKONKWO ON 2027 GENERAL ELECTION

A Labour Party (LP) chieftain, Kenneth Okonkwo, has stated that his support for the 2027 presidency is for a northern candidate to contest against President Bola Tinubu.
Okonkwo, who served as a spokesperson for the Peter Obi/Ahmed Baba-Datti presidential campaign organization in the 2023 elections, warned that fielding a southern candidate against Tinubu in 2027 would make it easy for the President to clinch a second term.

The actor cum politician however added that the northern candidate the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and coalition leaders would present for 2027, must be qualified for the position and have the support of the entire northern region.

He submitted that he doesn’t mind if former Vice President Atiku Abubakar emerges as long as he meets the requirement and has the support of the northern region.

“My strategy this time around is that I am going to support a northerner in 2027.

“It must be a northerner that the whole north is willing to support.

“If the whole north is willing to support an Atiku, why not?

“The person must be qualified, and if he has experience in the presidency, it is an added advantage, and when he puts up something from the south, that will push him through,” Okonkwo said on Channels Television’s Politics programme on Tuesday.

Okonkwo submitted that Peter Obi or any Southerner can’t win the 2027 election BECAUSE it will be STOLEN from such a person.

He alleged that Obi won the 2023 election, but he was robbed.

He insisted that since the APC is presenting Tinubu to be its flag bearer, the opposition coalition must present a northerner to CHALLENGE him.

According to him, the POWER of incumbency is a significant factor in Nigeria’s politics.

“Anybody telling you it’s injustice if the north comes in or if the south comes in, and whoever wins in a primary election in this coalition will take it for four years. Where is the injustice? It has happened before.

“Anybody telling you to bring a fresh southerner to compete against Tinubu who is a southerner, is trying to tell you to zone the ticket to Tinubu and Tinubu will win outright.

“If you bring somebody from the Southeast, even if he wins, they will steal it from him.

“Let me tell you the strategy that will make the Southeast man to be president. Do you know the South-West has never contested an election against an incumbent?
Because they know that in Nigeria, if you don’t have the establishment supporting you, even if you win, they will steal it from you.

“Peter Obi won the election in 2023, and they stole it from us. If you do it again, they will steal it from him because there is no incumbent to back you, but if you bring somebody from the north, nobody will prevail on him to leave his victory because he is not from the same side as you,” he said.

You left the part about a computer printed document in 1996 to be talking of clean document, as if Obi is the only person that knows how to keep documents clean.

The main crux of the matter is that this document is a document printed from a printed connected to a computer even though it was type writers that were mainly in use at that time.

We are not yet saying he is lying, but we are just trying to verify that his has not yet taken his lies and lamba to an outright fraud level.
It was printed from an electronic typewriter. It was invented early 20th Century. So 1986 fall within that time range.
Engage your brains and dig up real dirt on Obi and damage his reputation for good and stop embarrassing yourself.

To the OP that is raising this point, this has to be by far one of the dumbest threads raised. The letter has a reference number and I believe government documents are archived. Can't an FOI request be raised to view the document to check authenticity? I believe the government of the day would be ever so happy to search their records to either confirm or dispute this information.
One's brain must go into hibernation mode for the person to be able to defend the APC . This is because you will be required to make lots of illogical and baselessclaims and defenses which a functional brain will not be able to fathom.

No one can curse whom the Lord has blessed. They didn't tell us if those incidents of malpractice was recorded during the 'glitched' exam or the resit or both. Neither did they mention one of those instances of the malpractice recorded in SE with names just like case from North. This is just an amateurish attempt to explain away the consistent superior performance of SE students in JAMB as fraudulent. You can not curse whom the Lord has blessed.

If Peter is a democrat and if he has any atom of integrity left in him, he should immediately resign his membership of the Labour Party and face his ADC like a man. Trying to put one leg in ADC and leaving another one in LP is undemocratic, illegal and absolutely irresponsible. I support LP's decision to expel him immediately if he refuse to resign from the party.

Sensible folks like David Mark, Atiku, Babachir, Binani etc have all honorably resigned their membership of the parties they previously belong to now that they are in ADC. Obi should toe the path of honor and do the same. He should let LP breathe.
You find no issues with Wike holding down PDP while working for APC. Why are you people hypocrites?

Putindbutt:
Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media to Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, has sharply rebuked Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist Dele Farotimi for his scathing criticism of Wike.

Farotimi, in a post on X on July 7, 2025, labeled Wike the “poster boy of the Nigerian ruining class,” accusing him of embodying the flaws of Nigeria’s political elite, describing him as “cacophonous, parasitic, narcissistic, Lilliputian, gluttonous, myopic, and untouched by any desire for immortality.”

In a fiery response on X, Olayinka dismissed Farotimi’s remarks, asserting that the lawyer had abandoned objective reasoning. Olayinka, known for defending Wike’s interests, argued that Farotimi’s critique was driven by personal bias rather than substantive analysis, accusing him of joining a “coalition of confusion” with ulterior motives.

This aligns with Olayinka’s prior defenses, such as his June 2025 rebuttals against Dele Momodu, where he accused critics of exploiting historical struggles for personal gain.

According to Olayinka, he said, "When as a lawyer and human rice and beans activist like DeleFarotimi, you have lost your sense of rational reasoning, you will be supporting, promoting, and defending a man who built no single school throughout his 8 years as governor, but attacking another man who built the law school that many of the law graduates that will be called to bar this week attended."

The clash reflects ongoing political tensions, with Farotimi’s comments echoing sentiments from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition, including figures like Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, who aim to challenge President Bola Tinubu in 2027. Olayinka’s retort underscores Wike’s camp’s strategy to counter opposition narratives, framing critics as misguided or opportunistic.
Ignorance is bliss util it is violently busted. See the torpedoes shot:

10. Through partnership with the Church in the Health sector, his Government funded the transformation of -:

a: Iyienu Hospital, Ogidi;
b: Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Ihiala;
c: St Charles Borromeo Hospital, Onitsha;
d: Holy Rosary Hospital, Waterside, Onitsha; and
