Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory (FCT), has said Nigerians don't really know the personality of the 2023 Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, adding that his supporters are only throwing their weight behind him based on emotions.

The Minister also said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is on a mission to rescue Nigeria, calling for patience with the president administration.

Wike also said that the coalition leaders are only interested in “rescuing their stomach” and not Nigerians.

The minister urged the Nigerians to be careful of “propaganda and blackmail” from politicians and appealed for patience and continued prayers for the Bola Tinubu-led administration.


He said many of the coalition leaders failed to deliver meaningful results to the country when they had the opportunity to serve, noting that their recent move shows that they cannot stay out of power for a very long time.

Nigerians are supporting Peter Obi based on emotions. Are some Nigerians supporting Tinubu based on what?

Don't mistake the party and voters. No voter is permanently attached to any party. In 2023, SE which was a traditional voter of PDP voted LP overwhelmingly. The voters are now very mobile looking for a credible candidate in any party.

Obi has attended every single coalition meeting from day one while Obidients only got to know he was part of the coalition 48hrs before official announcement. He has been prepping the minds of Obidients to the impending outcome by alluding to "sacrifices". He knows already. Atiku would contest just like he did in 2023. He didn't sign any pact with Obidients. They can go ahead to vote Tinubu. Their votes won't be missed at all. All they have brought to the coalition thus far are chaos, insults and outright demand for the party ticket.

The ADC is not a Special Purpose Vehicle set up solely for the actualization of Peter Obi's ambition. Obidients should feel welcome to defect back to the labour party and contest as a sole candidate. Better yet, vote Tinubu in peace.

Desperate Atiku should wait for the turn of the North. His desperation to become President out of turn is what helped to foist this menace on the country. If he had respected the zoning arrangement in 2023, the votes splitted between LP and PDP would have installed a more responsible government. He may go ahead and repeat history. Once he becomes the coalition candidate, the whole south will give Tinubu block vote.

I am a staunch Peter Obi's supporter but as sad as it may sound, he is absolutely correct. Not just any Northerner but Atiku Abubakar.



Peter Obi should not listen to anybody advising him not to deputize Atiku for any reason, he should accept it.


Obi as a Vice won't be the same with docile Vices like Shettima and Sambo Dasuki.


Obi have a formidable political movement that will shake any President that dare joke with Obi, so Obi's influence will soar even higher if he runs as Atiku's vice.

People clamoring for Peter Obi candidacy may not understand Nigeria as a whole. Nigeria is not only made up of Lagos and the south. Nigeria is made of of a huge area called “NORTH” where many of them don’t speak English - you will be shocked many there don’t even understand ordinary “go” or “come let me help you” in English.
If Obi is the candidate, he will win in the Nigeria you know- Abuja, lagos and the south - but then leave that huge “NORTH” only for Tinubu. Then you will start crying again.
