BEWARE! YOUR SMART PHONE MAY BE TEACHING YOU BAD ENGLISH You need to watch it because your child’s smart phone may be teaching him/her bad English and even you as an adult. Have you noticed the problem of English spelling with some recently released Android smart phones? It is unfortunate that at a time parents are complaining and lamenting that abbreviation words in the social media (text messages, facebook, whatsapp, twitter etc) has made mess of the ability of our youth to read and write good English. And now most smart phones key boards are not helping matters rather they are compounding the problem of writing good and correct spelling of some English words. I don’t know why the manufacturers of these phones decided to omit some compound words from the English vocabulary? I as one, am finding it unbearable to tolerate this. EXAMPLES : The following words are missing seriously from these smart phones/keyboards 1. Behind as” bind” 2. Vehicles = as “vicle “ 3. Kehinde as “kinde” 4. Behold as “bold” 5. Apprehend as “append” 6. Household as ”housold” 7. Behave as “bave” 8. Behavior s “baviour” 9. Beheaded as “beaded” 10. Behalf as “balf” 11. Apprehensive as “apprensive” etc, etc (You can add yours as well) Check out these wrong spelling of words in all the social media write ups and broadcasts and you will be amazed. The question should be, are these new ways of spelling English words? What went wrong and who is to be blamed for all these: the Phone manufacturers of the keyboard owners? What is the solution to this problem or don’t we see it as a big problem? |
For months they were the face of terror, several banks were visited..they carted away millions of Naira from their vaults in Lagos..Some unlucky Nigerians also lost their lives..These are the faces of the alleged 13 daredevil robbers when they were brought to court yesterday. An Ebute-Meta Magistrates Court 5 yesterday ordered that 13 members of the notorious armed robbery gang which unleashed terror on FESTAC, Ikorodu, Agbara and Lekki last year be remanded in prison. The Chief Magistrate, O. I. Adelaja, ordered that the accused be remanded in Ikoyi Prison pending directives from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP). Those arraigned and later remanded are Clement Abanara aka Millions, Denis Njoku, Ebi Blessing Olotu, Sunday Owoloko, John Sabajoh and Idowu Sobijoh. Others are Airiyemipate Joseph Wisdom, Opeyemi Balogun, Olamilekan Morounkeji, Ayodeji Fanimeye, Mike Adebayo, Monsuru Adisa and Daniel Ukaeju. Prosecutors, Enoh Etoboh and Godwin Osuji, presented a remand application for the accused, pending DPP’s advice on nine different charges. According to the prosecutors, the accused on October 13, 2015, at Diamond Bank on 4th Avenue, FESTAC, Lagos, armed, with AK47 rifles, dynamites and other offensive weapons, robbed the bank of N27 million. On the same place, date and time, they robbed Access Bank PLC of N29 million. On June 18, 2015, the gang robbed First Bank PLC of N19, 003,470, $3,470 and 40 Euro. The gang also on March 12, 2015, robbed First City Monument Bank on Admiralty Way, Lekki, N24, 005,664. At Ipakodo Ikorodu, the gang robbed First Bank branch in the area of N19,012,095, $2,759 and 120 pound sterling. On the same date, time and place, armed with AK47 rifles, dynamites and other offensive weapons, robbed Zenith Bank of N80, 524,102. On November 19, 2015, the accused robbed another Zenith Bank branch in Agbara, Ogun State of N110 million. The money runs into over N400 million. Etoboh and Osuji told the court that the gang had during its operations, murdered Inspector Bethel Agbodi, Sergeant George Odehohwo, Corporal Ikechukwu Imoisiu and 15-year-old Serah Ibikunle at Lekki. The prosecutors said in support of their applications were affidavit for remand, strength of witnesses; police concluded investigations and confessional statements. Counsel to the defendants, Jasper Omohmele, Emelda Adebanbo, Sqad Attaimu, Abiboye O. T., O. O. Quadiri and Dao Apodu in unison, said they were opposed to the applications because they were ambushed. They argued that the charge sheet was kept away from them by the prosecutors and not for the Chief Magistrates’ intervention yesterday, they wouldn’t have it. They also stated that the aforementioned affidavit and exhibits were not displayed to them. Adelaja said the court was presented with a remand application and not a trial application. Adelaja said the accused shall be remanded in Ikoyi Prison and brought to court after legal advice from the DPP. She adjourned the case till May 11, 2016 Source: http://www.cknnigeria.com/2016/03/13-alleged-bank-robbery-kingpins_97.html?m=1

The Justice John Tsoho-led Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Friday refused to grant an application by the Federal Government seeking a private trial for the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu. Justice Tsoho, in his ruling, declined the prayer of the prosecution seeking that its witnesses should wear mask and be seen through screen. Dismissing the application, the court held that “the demeanor of the witnesses is very important and as such must testify openly.” Justice Tsoho consequently adjourned the matter till 7,8,9,10 and 11 of March for trials. Earlier, the Federal Government had through the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, Mohammed Diri filed before the court an application which sought secret trial and protection of witnesses. Diri said, “Our application is to allow our witnesses who are civil servants residing in the geographical entity of the defendant. “We take judicial notice that since the arrest of the defendant, there have been one form of protest and violence.” The DPP informed the court that the witnesses have already indicated fear of insecurity for testifying against Kanu. “They categorically informed us that unless they can be guaranteed some form of protection by the court, them are unwilling to come and testify.” Diri also prayed the court to order the media not to reveal the identity of of the prosecuting witnesses. The application was vehemently opposed by the defense counsel, Chuks Mouma who asserted that: “We do not want the court to grant the application.” Mouma argued that the constitution has no provision for masquerades testifying against an accused person. The defense counsel also informed the court that all cases cited by the prosecution are related to terrorism which are not applicable to the on-going proceedings. dailypost.ng/2016/02/19/biafra-court-denies-fgs-appeal-to-secretly-try-nnamdi-kanu/ |

This is to bring to the notice of the Federal, State Government and those saddled with the responsibilities of ensuring that PETROLEUM product is available to the Citizens that the product (pms) has been scarce in Ilesha for a very long time now Due to the charlatan, creedy and unpatriotic attitudes of Petroleum Marketers in Osun and the city of Ilesha in particular. These DEALERS will have fuel but will not sell to the public thereby sabotaging the efforts of the Government and making life difficult and Unbearable for the people. And whenever they wish to sell, they rotate it from one filling Station to another (e.g If A sells today B will sell tomorrow). They usually sell at cut- throat price and sometimes in the night. They should be checked with immediate effect by Petroleum Task Force. |

It seems the mask one is truly afraid of someone or something. Otherwise how else can one explain why someone who has taken to entertain the public has refused to disclose his face to his audience, public and the world? The question that is seriously begging for answer is , why has he not removed that "Mask"? After all he is human. Sometimes one is surprised that people have been, , playing, dancing and patronizing a faceless individual WHOM they know not(Is it not RISKY?). My conclusion is that "LAGBAJA MUST BE AFRAID OF SOMEONE OR SOMETHING, HENCE HE HAS REFUSED TO SHOW HIS FACE FOR RECOGNITION. Or his he not going to remove those pieces of clothes on his face for ever? #SOLAGBAJAREMOVEYOURMASKNOW |

Why didn't Oshomole stand up to salute the VP? It's like some people are deliberately disrespecting the Vice President. Too bad! Some even call him COMMISIONER. Commissioner for what if I may ask? |
@Op, pls note that the correct spelling is ONYEKA ONWENU and OWENU . This is Igbo name and not English name. Thanks . |

I don't think I have any reason to doubt Mr Falae was kidnapped. But I doubt so much the story of his rescue. Was he rescued by the police or he was RELEASED by his abductors? It's like the police are trying to be smart on this. Can the police tell Nigerians how they rescued Mr Falae. Again the police is telling Nigerians that no ransom was paid/given. But Mr. Falae said his family offered the kidnappers N2m and they asked him if that was enough for boko haram. But he also failed to tell Nigerians, if the kidnappers accepted the two million naira or they added more to the two million or was corroborating what the police IG said, that no rasnsom was paid. Too many questions are begging for answers here. Early account said the Fulani herdsmen have been in confrontations with Mr. Falae on his farm before that incidence which is obvious, if true, Mr Falae knows those people. Could it be that the kidnap episode was an avenue for settlement. Who knows? Tell me then. |

So my question is what is the factory default code/password for Lenovo phones please. Especially Lenovo A630T ? Thanks all. |
