Currently on our way back to the North.

Last week Saturday, another one dealt me a blow. I got an invite to an interview from Indeed. Mind you I have relocated to Kaduna. O boy! The kind of salary they put out there is enough to entice anyone.

So I dressed up, wore an office pant, and a suit and looked sleek only to arrive Magajin Gari and was directed to a storey building.
There was an entry book at the entrance where I was told to put down my name and I did just that.

The person who ushered me in told me the interview had started, that I should put my phone on silence and so on.
I walked into a makeshift Hall and saw a few adults sitted, listening to a motivational speaker, I sheepishly sat down, took out my writing material and penned down a few things. My intuition never fails, I had a premonition that it wasn't going to end well but since I had nothing doing, I chose to stay till the end and see how far.

So after the plenty motivational talk, the CEO, a young lady walked in and continued from where the gentleman stopped. She later said we are going to be part of the business and we are required to pay a sum of N15, 000. All of us locked up except one man who stood up and indicated interest and she asked us to excuse them meaning we should leave the premises, we gladly did!

The name of this company abi na organisation is GML, Great Magdala Global if I am correct.

Let me share my own story

In 2018, I was in Abuja for my internship, 400L SIWES. The agency I was attached to gave us two days off in a week, so I thought I could get something doing. One day, I came across an advert placement at Garki which stated ushers were needed, I was so excited that I saved the number in my phone, at least I would get something to keep me busy for the weekends.

I placed a call, I was told to come the following day. Following day came and l left Lugbe to Central Business District only to see a mammoth crowd at a plaza, I was stunned beyond words. Youths of different ages, backgrounds and social status were everywhere.

I was quickly invited to join a small group, before we knew it we started singing and clapping o, like children and they kept firing our spirits up with motivational talks. I didn't know when I transferred the 10,000 I was saving up for something.

After few minutes I realised what I had done, I requested for my money back and they told me they have already registered me with the company and there is no way I am getting my money back.

It took more than 2 months of back and forth,constant calls and threats to get half of the money. One day, I just went to their branch manager and reported the case to him and mentioned the names of the people involved and he called them into his office with strict instruction that my money should be refunded in full to me.

But Chale no levels! Na 5k I see. GNDL is contemporary slavery, it is worse than a rat race!

I am sorry, you might not be able to reach him until after the training.

I got my transcript in two and half weeks in March last year. It was my first time since I graduated in 2011 which I consider okay.

My friend that processed his own got it in one week because that's his second time.
